Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors for self-rated health by gender in South Korean adolescents. Methods: The population consisted of a nationally representative sample of adolescents(n= 37,414 boys, 37,522 girls) in middle and high school who completed the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey(KYRBWS) in 2011. Using logistic regression analysis, self-rated health was regressed on all predictors, including socioeconomic factors, behavioral and psychological factors. All analysis were conducted according to gender. Results: Girls showed more negative self rated health than boys (respectively 28.4%, 40.7%). Adolescent perceptions of health was associated with socioeconomic status, behavioral and psychological factors. Logistic regression analysis revealed that physical activity, body weight perception, despair, level of happiness and stress were the main influencing factors. Conclusions: The findings show that adolescent perceptions of their health are associated with overall sense of functioning, which are associated with health behaviors and psychological factors. Further interventions that focus on improving health behaviors and psychological health may make adolescents more healthy.
The purpose of this study was to find out differences between nursing teachers and non-nursing teachers in sex education, to offer the degree of conducting sex education and teachers' perceptions of teaching ability The subjects were 291 middle and high school teachers in Busan from June 25 to July 22, 2002. The results of this study are as follows. 1. According to the survey of 22 items relating to the degree of conducting sex education, the average of nursing teachers(2.87) was higher than that of non-nursing teachers(2.69). This finding showed that there was a significant difference between both groups(p<.05). 2. According to the survey of 22 items relating to teaching abilities, the average of nursing teachers(2.88) was higher than that of non-nursing teachers(2.63). There was also a significant difference between both groups(p<.01). According to the results of the study, I make the following suggestions. 1. Sex education should be adopted as a regular course and conducted as a school health program in regular curriculum. 2. Compared with non-nursing teachers, nursing teachers conducted sex education frequently and efficiently and their perception of sex education was higher. Therefore, the school policy which requires that sex education should be conducted by nursing teachers only is to be established.
The goals of this study were threefold. First, the researcher sought to describe the perceptions of wives and husbands concerning the degree of fairness in the division of household labor. Second, the determinants of wives and husbands' perception of the fairness in the division of household labor were analyzed. Third, the factors that affect wives' perception of the fairness in the division of household labor were compared with the factors that affect husbands' perception of the fairness. The data of this study were collected from a survey of 139 married couples with children of high school age or younger, residing in Seoul, Inchon, and Kyunggido. A structured questionnaire was used in the survey. Frequencies, percentiles, mean, Peason's correlations, Cronbach's alpha, t-tests, and multiple regressions were used to analyze the data. The results show that both the wives and the husbands perceived the division of household labor as unfair for the wives. Further, husbands' gender-role attitudes and household labor preference affected wives and husbands' perception. Most comparison reference variables affected significantly the wives and husbands' perception. Lastly, there was a gender difference in the significance of comparison reference variables and demographic variables. The wives mainly employed within-marriage comparisons but the husbands mostly used outside-marriage comparisons. The demographic variables affected the wives' perception, but not the husband's.
This study aimed to analyze the economic effectiveness on environment improvement project that has been implemented in five fishing grounds of Taean-gun which had been damaged by the Hebei Spirit oil spill accident. In the analysis, first, this study performed the survey on residents perceptions about the environment improvement project. Second, the cost-benefit analysis was carried out to evaluate the economic effectiveness of the project. The survey results of residents perceptions indicated that the damage of oil spill was considerable in the target areas. It also showed that residents wanted to continue the environment improvement project and the levels of project satisfaction were quitely high. The economic results showed that 3 areas(Woong-do, Wang-san, and Dang-mi) would have positive values of NPV and B/C ratio, but the other(Nu-dong) would have negative values. The findings of this analysis could be used as the base data for increasing operational efficiency of future environment improvement projects.
This paper studies the effect of flipping the classroom in undergraduate physics classes using English as the medium of instruction (EMI). Data on student use of learning strategies, course satisfaction level and perceptions of the flipped classes were collected through a survey including close-ended and open-ended questions. The sample size was 71 students in flipped classes, with 60 students in non-flipped classes used as a control group (total N=131). It was found that students in the flipped classes showed greater intrinsic goal orientation (p<.05), control of learning beliefs (p<.05), and use of critical thinking (p<.01) than those in the non-flipped classes. While the survey highlighted problems of student engagement with the pre-class activities, students who had previous experience with online classes committed more time to pre-class, suggesting that engagement may improve with exposure to blended learning. It is concluded that the flipped classroom helps students develop their identities as self-directed learners, but that more support is necessary for weaker students in the EMI context. Implications are drawn for the content design of flipped EMI classrooms.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the perceptions of early childhood educators about the role of middle managers in daycare centers. Methods: A survey was conducted with 254 educators including directors, middle managers, and teachers working at daycare centers located in Jeonbuk. An interview was then conducted with 18 educators working at six different centers. IPA for the survey and thematic analysis were performed for the interview contents. Results: The results show that all the participants perceived that communication among managers, daycare staff, and related organizations should be improved most urgently; in the interview, middle managers as a solver of the uncomfortable relationship between directors and teachers and as a linker between generations were emphasized. Also, the directors and middle managers recognized that the skills to have as middle managers needed to be improved most urgently, and the teachers recognized nothing needed to be improved urgently. Different emphasis for the need of supports for environment and systems was made in the interview by each position. Conclusion/Implications: The study discussed the necessity of the official position of middle managers in a daycare center to promote the professionalism of early childhood educators.
Background: This study aims to investigate the perception and actual situation of online classes of college physical therapy students after COVID-19. In addition, it is necessary to conduct a fact-finding survey on how physical therapy students who have experienced online classes think about the online class method, what are the overall problems, and to what extent they are satisfied. There was a significant difference according to the grades in self regulated learning. The data values measured in this study were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) Windows version 12.0 statistical program. Conclusion: These results suggest that in future research, it is necessary to study the perceptions and actual conditions of each class compared to online classes and face-to-face classes.
Objectives: This study aimed to examine the effect of eating habits and dietary attitudes on dessert consumption among university students in Gwangju Province, South Korea. Methods: A survey was conducted from May to June 2022. Out of 300 distributed questionnaires, 261 valid responses were included in the analysis. The survey assessed dessert selection, satisfaction, consumer attitudes and behaviors, as well as factors influencing satisfaction. Results: Both genders reported purchasing desserts 2 to 3 times per week, primarily after lunch, due to the convenience of dessert accessibility. Males favored ice cream, bakery items, and fruits, while females preferred bakery items, ice cream, and fruits in that sequence. 'Having fun' was identified as the most common motivation for dessert consumption post-meal. Notable gender disparities emerged regarding perceptions of dessert consumption, including its role in stress relief, potential for nutritional imbalance, positive effects, and preferences for seasonal menus. Significant gender-based differences also manifested in intentions to purchase dessert, responsiveness to price changes, and inclination to recommend desserts to others. Conclusions: This study offers foundational data on university students' dessert purchasing behaviors, perceptions, and satisfaction levels, intending to inform strategies promoting healthier dietary habits.

Conclusions: In this study, we examined the perceptions of physical therapists on rehabilitation ultrasound imaging used in muscle re-education. We also examined how to use this technique. Many therapists who participated in the refresher training were found to be unaware of RUSI. In the future, further investigations on RUSI for muscle re-education are required through refresher training or training lectures at the national level.
The aim of this study is to understand the wedding planners' general perceptions on Hanbok as a ceremonial dress in wedding ceremonies. Moreover, the study explores the aesthetic understanding of wedding planners on Hanbok which both influences their choice of recommendation and purchasing decisions. In the process of organizing the structure of weddings for clients, planners have naturally acquired the position of being able to influence the sales of the Hanbok industry. Moreover, brides-to-be are heavily dependant on wedding planners in sketching the outlines of their whole wedding. Therefore, in order to analyze the opinions of both subjects, a research survey was launched which involved three hundred participants from two groups: first, wedding planners who were free lancers working in the Chungdam District, and second, wedding planners who were working for wedding consulting firms. The survey method was based on one precedent study, in which a preliminary survey was conducted by interviewing companies in the Hanbok industry and wedding consulting firms, and an additional survey in the form of questionnaires. The STATA 11.0 program was used for analyzing the recruited data for frequency analysis and cross-tabulations analysis on career. The conclusion of this research may be used as substantial preliminary data in prospering the Hanbok industry, enhance and newly shape its marketing strategies and the conclusion is as follows. 1. Wedding planners have a more profound understanding on Hanbok and prioritize the significance of formative constituents in the order of color, material, style, size, and decoration. 2. The prospects of promoting the image of Hanbok through wedding planners is promising. According to surveys, this goes to show that the persuasion of wedding planners have brought a positive effect on choice of Hanbok and as wedding planners become more specialized, their involvement in preparing Hanbok with brides is increasing. 3. Wedding planners believed that the main reasons why future brides do not select Hanbok as a ceremony dress are that the cost is too high relative to practicality and that there are not enough opportunities to wear them.
