  • This study reports a field study that examined the citizens' needs and perceptions of library services at a municipal public library system of Mapo-gu, in an attempt to develop a comprehensive service plan that can satisfy the diverse public needs in the changing social environment. We administered a self-reported questionnaire to 800 library users and 300 non-users in the area to examine their reading habits, library use, and perceptions of library services and programs. As a result of the analysis, 53.7% of Mapo-gu residents used one or two libraries among all 16 municipal libraries, and the primary criterion for selecting the main library was accessibility(63.9%). And only 53.8% of library users had experience participating in the library programs. The respondents also showed strong perception that the library is an essential place for the community and the children. Study results indicate that the library system should further expand the collection size, diversify information contents, improve the physical space including library facilities, and build more libraries. In order to fulfill the role of public libraries as the central place of the community, the municipal city should further invest in enhancing accessibility, spatial innovation, and diversifying service contents and media.

  • In this study, we investigated pre-service chemistry teachers' awareness and perceptions of middle school students' misconceptions and their perceived educational needs. A survey was administered to 87 seniors at the department of chemistry education of five colleges of education. The instrument was consisted of a test for their awareness and perceptions of students' misconceptions on chemistry topics and an educational need test for their experiences and needs for learning them. Analyses of the results revealed that most pre-service teachers were not thoroughly aware of students' misconceptions related to the particulate nature of matter. The perceptions of a necessity of knowing misconceptions and a willingness to deal with them were positive. However there were few pre-service teachers addressing them according to the constructivism. The pre-service teachers encountered misconceptions through chemical education courses, and had difficulties in practicing teaching strategies addressing misconceptions because of limited examples of misconceptions and insufficiencies of methods/materials in teaching. They also needed lectures and practices related to students' misconceptions. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.

  • As an emphasis has been put on the importance of computational thinking, universities have opened software educational programs as required basic courses.. Therefore this study aimed to examine non-major students' perceptions of programming before and after they had programing education. To this end, this study performed programming education for 15 weeks using the Scratch programming language, and then conducted a questionnaire survey. This study analyzed responses from 214 students. According to the results of the analysis, 74 % of the non-major students had no previous experience with programming, 87% felt that programming was difficult, and 69.7% answered that they did not need programming education. To change these negative perceptions of programming, this study made the following suggestions. First, the professor should clearly convey the needs, purposes, and content of programming education to students prior to class. Second, programming should be designated as an optional course rather than required one. Third, it is necessary to develop content integrated with majors, or educational programs or content connected to getting a job or starting a business.

  • Unlike previous studies that have looked at ESG management and ESG performance from a consumer perspective, this study aims to examine the relationship between attitudes toward ESG and ESG performance perception from the perspective of internal customers who are members of the organization. To this end, the impact of internal members' perceptions of the importance of each ESG area on the organization's ESG management necessity and performance perception was summarized into three research questions and the impact was identified using a structural equation model. As a result of the study, internal customers highly recognized the organization's ESG management needs when they recognized the E (environmental) and G (governance) areas as important, but there was no significant relationship with the ESG management needs in the S (social) area (Research Question 1). In addition, the relationship between the perception of importance in each ESG area and the organization's ESG management needs was found to be little different depending on internal customers' interest in ESG, the degree of ESG knowledge, and age (Research Question 2). Finally, it was found that internal customers who highly perceive the organization's ESG management needs were also positively aware of the organization's ESG performance level.

Farmers had especially more positive attitudes in the categories of interest and careers in ag-technology. To do services level up, the headquarter of Rural Development of Administration must be work with local branches to effectively deliver their missions and educational objectives to target crops and farmers group. And farmers were strongly needed "a specialized service team will be organized" to work closely with operating services for ag-products processing, packing and marketing. The recommendations were made by: farmers' needs should be identified and announced by computer networking development to solve their problems faster. Also, provincial and county level service members should have a chance to working at research institute or related work places with their incentives, which system will be easer to meet farmers' needs and deal with their problems so that the systematic approaches should be managed and recorded their educational attendings, education contents and even their farming corporations. Finally, Agricultural Extension Service should be met to general ag-technology literacy and be balanced with knowledge of other industries and be competitive service with better values in non-agricultural sectors.
