The purpose of this study were to find out the perceived importance of psychological care, to investigate the nurses perception on the quantity of psychological care activities, and the correlation between the structual variables. 206 registered nurses from general wards of 3 university hospitals in Seoul were randommly sampled. Data were gathered by check-list on the perceived importance and perceived quantity and were analysed by the frequency, percentile scores, ANOVA and Correlation-coefficient. Results are as follows 1. Majority of subjects(96.6%) responded to the psychological care for hospitalized patients being very, and most important nursing care activity Two-third(66%) revealed to be give more or less satisfactory amount of psychological care-to the hospitalized patients. 2. Heavy work-load(79%), personal factors of(33.0%) nurses and the health team and factors of nurse-patient relationship (20.9%) revealed to be the major causes hindering psychological care. 3. To improve quality and the quantity of psychological care, personal and professional development of nurses and the health team(56.8%), improvement of nurse-patient relationships (49.03) and improvement of nurse patient ratio(45%) were suggested. 4. The perceived quantity of psychological care and the educational status revealed significant correlation(p<.005). The perceived quantity and position in nursing revealed significant correlation (p<.01). 5. No significant correlation was revealed between the perceived importance and the perceived quantity of the psychological care.
The purpose of this research was to investigate whether the perception of KPIs by restaurant managers from financial and non-financial perspectives was affected by BSC implementation. The perceptions that were examined were importance, adoption, performance, and utilization of KPIs. We surveyed managers from multinational restaurant chains that were adopting BSC and those that were not. From a non-financial perspective, the difference in perceived importance between BSC adopted firms and firms that did not adopt BSC was significant. The managers of BSC adopted firms perceived KPIs more seriously than the others. Secondly, according to the managers' working experiences, the difference of perceived utilization in the internal business process perspective was significant between BSC adopted firms and firms that did not adopt BSC. In addition, from the learning and growth perspective, the difference in perceived adoption and utilization between the two groups was significant. Finally, in the BSC adopted firms, the perceived importance of the managers affected the other perceptions like adoption and utilization from both the financial and non-financial perspectives.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate clinical nurses' perception on nursing managerial competencies. Methods: This was a descriptive study. The data were collected from 198 nurse managers who had worked in six general hospitals using a self-reporting questionnaire. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Importance-Performance Analysis. Results: Only 32% of the participants had experienced nursing managerial competency training. The mean score for perceived performance of nursing managerial competency was lower than that for perceived importance. There were significant differences in perceived importance, performance, and importance-performance gaps among head, charge, and staff nurses. Importance-performance analysis showed that three of the 30 nursing managerial competencies require further development: staffing, human resources development and education, and nursing standard development competency. There were significant differences in importance-performance gaps according to age, career years in current hospital, work shift, position, nursing delivery system, and nursing managerial competency-education experience. Conclusion: A training program for developing and improving nursing managerial competencies which is focused on the gaps in importance and performance level is needed for clinical nurses. In addition, it should be considered to improve nursing work conditions such as nursing delivery system and formal appointment in order to increase the performance of nursing managerial competencies.
Purpose: This study compared the importance and performance of rehabilitation nursing needs perceived by stroke patients and nurses. Methods: A total of 275 subjects were divided into two groups. One group was 136 stroke patients and the other was 139 nurses. Data were collected with the Rehabilitation Nursing Service Inventory. The data were analyzed by t-test and ANOVA using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Results: The degree of importance and performance in rehabilitation nursing needs perceived by the stroke patients were $3.69{\pm}0.47$ and $3.48{\pm}0.50$, respectively, showing a significant difference (t=21.04, p<.001). The degree of importance and performance perceived by nurses were $3.84{\pm}0.42$ and $3.60{\pm}0.45$, respectively, showing a significant difference (t=26.53, p<.001). A significant difference in the degree of importance and performance in rehabilitation nursing needs was also observed between stroke patients and nurses (t=-2.78, p=.006; t=-2.12, p=.035). Conclusion: These findings showed that there was a perception gap between stroke patients and nurses. Therefore, it will necessary to identify methods for reducing this perception gap and developing rehabilitation nursing intervention considering the rehabilitation nursing needs of stroke patients.

Nurse's caring behaviors are essential to help patients cope with their health problems. The purpose of this study was to investigate the importance of nurse's caring behaviors as perceived by staff nurses and patients. The subjects were 295 staff nurses and 340 patients from five medical centers in Taegu. Data collection was done from Dec. 10, 1997 to Jan. 31, 1998. The tool for this study was a 7 point Likert type scale with 27 earing behaviors developed by Lee(1996). Cronbach alpha of the tool was .9701 in staff nurses and .9618 in patients. Data were analyzed with SAS using t-test, ANOVA and Spearman rank correlation program. The results are as follows : 1. The a verage score of perceived importance of nurse's taring behaviors for the 27 items was 5.65 in staff nurses and 4.97 in patients. 2. The most important caring behaviors perceived by the nurses was 'Nurse gives painless and cautious injection and treatment for patients' and for the patients, 'Nurse gives hygienic treatment and nursing care'. 3. The caring behavior which showed a significant difference between the ranks of perceived importance by staff nurses and patients was 'to treat the patient with tenderness and friendship'. 4. The Spearman rank correlation coefficient between the ranks of importance perceived by staff nurses and patients was 0.8302. With the results of this study, the staff nurses could be recognized to have much enthusiasm and passion about caring. It is suggested that nurses let the public know about the nurses' caring roles. In the future, research to investigate the actual practice of nurses' caring behavior is necessary.
As an extension of Technology Acceptance Models (TAM), the relative importance of perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEU) in adopting two different mobile services are examined using service compatibility and user trust as moderating variables. This research shows that PEU is a relatively more important factor in the adoption of new mobile services when the new mobile services are highly compatible with existing services, while trust is an important influential factor in the adoption of services with a relatively low service compatibility. Trust does not significantly change the relative importance of PEU in the adoption of highly compatible mobile services, while the user's trust changes the importance of PU in the adoption process for the mobile services with relatively low service compatibility.
Purpose: The current study investigated how clinical microbiology courses are conducted at the undergraduate nursing level in South Korea to identify the perceptions of clinical nurses regarding their knowledge and the clinical importance of microbiology and further assess their educational needs. Methods: Curricula presented on the websites of 202 undergraduate nursing institutions were reviewed. In addition, a survey assessing the knowledge and importance of clinical microbiology perceived by nurses was conducted online. A total of 150 nurses participated in the survey. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation coefficients, t-tests, analysis of variance, Borich Needs Assessment Model, and Locus for Focus Model. Results: The results indicated that 90% of undergraduate nursing institutions offer clinical microbiology courses under various subject names. The perceived knowledge and importance of clinical microbiology were correlated; however, knowledge was consistently lower than the perceived importance of clinical biology among nurses. The structure and proliferation of novel viruses ranked highest in the educational needs of nurses based on both the Borich Needs Assessment Model and Locus for Focus Model. Conclusion: Based on the findings, this study suggests educational opportunities for clinical microbiology in hospital settings to reduce discrepancies between knowledge and the importance of clinical microbiology faced by nurses.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide fundamental materials for improving school health promotion programs by investigating school nurses' awareness of the importance, performance level, and perceived competence level of school health promotion programs in Gangwon-do. Methods: The subjects of this study were 173 school nurses who were working in Gangwon-do. The instrument for this study was a scale for awareness of importance, performance level, and perceived competence level. Data were collected on December 15, 2007 and analyzed using SPSS 13.0 for Windows. Results: The mean score of awareness of importance was 3.51(range: $1{\sim}4$). The mean score of performance level and the mean score of perceived competence level were 3.35 (range: $1{\sim}4$) and 3.29 (range: $1{\sim}4$), respectively. The younger school nurses were (F=4. 380, p=. 014 ), the higher their awareness of importance was. The performance level was lowest in high school nurses (F=5.013, p=.008). There were significant correlations between awareness of importance, performance level, and perceived competence level in school nurses. Conclusion: In order to improve the effectiveness of school health promotion programs, training and education programs for school nurses' competencies and technical support systems for school nurses should be provided.

A vacation destination was conceptualized to be chosen through a three-stage process consisting of an early consideration set formation, a late consideration set formation, and a final selection stage. Choice criteria were defined as an individual's belief toward the relationships between perceived attributes, expected outcomes, and the destination. And these criteria were assumed to be divided into benefit-related dimension and perceived risk-related dimension. Through two pilot surveys, 13 items which have 4 factors were identified. used on 4 factor structures, the benefit-related dimension was identified to be consisted of three sub-dimensions, "historic/cultural", "escaped" and "naturalness". A longitudinal panel survey was used to test the differences of the importance of choice dimensions through the choice process. The importance of benefit-related dimension was decreased through the choice process as hypothesized except "naturalness" factor. And as hypothesized, the importance of perceived risk-related dimension was increased.
This study analyzes the importance-performance analysis (IPA) of the 10 dimensions of the smart construction safety management system, and analyzes which dimensions are important and which dimensions are performing to determine key improvement tasks, incremental improvement tasks, Maintenance and reinforcement tasks and continuous maintenance tasks were derived. Among the 10 dimensions of the smart construction safety management system, the dimensions that are recognized as important by all field managers and field workers and have high performance are the automatic risk displacement measurement system, smart environmental sensor system, and heavy equipment seizure prevention system. However, areas that were perceived as having high importance but low performance were worker location tracking systems, smart safety helmet chin muscles, and smart safety ring fastening. Among the smart construction safety management systems perceived by field managers, areas for key improvement with high importance and low performance included worker location tracking system and smart safety ring fastening.
