Software system which is essential in operating the computer has gradually become an indispensable element in many aspects of our daily lives and an important factor in numerous systems. In recent years, software cost sometimes exceeds the cost of maintaining the hardware system. In addition to the cost necessary to develop the new software system and to maintain the system, the penalty costs incurred due to software failures are even more significant. In this paper, a cost model incorporating the warranty cost, debugging costto remove each fault detected in the software system, and delivery delay cost is developed. A software reliability model based on non-homogeneous Poisson process(NHPP) is established and the optimal software release policies to minimize the expected total software cost are discussed. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the results.

The characteristics of nine existing condensation frictional pressure drop correlations for microfin tubes were evaluated with geometries, vapor quality, mass flux, and refrigerants. The $M\ddot{u}ller-Steinhagen$ and Heck [17] smooth tube frictional pressure drop correlation was utilized to evaluate the pressure drop penalty factor (PF). Except the Nozu et al. [2], the Kedzierski and Goncalves [3], the Choi et al. [10], and the Cavallini et al. [7], other pressure drop correlations did not consider the effect of tube geometry. The prediction values for R407C by pressure drop correlations show discrepancy with previous researcher's experimental trend. Additional efforts on the development of reliable condensation pressure drop correlation for microfin tubes are still required with the systematic investigation of various effects like geometries and working conditions.
The study examined the relationship between workers' safety awareness, safety performance and the components of the intelligent image analysis system in accordance with preventing the workers from safety hazard in dangerous working area. Based on the safety performance model, we include safety knowledge, safety motivation, safety compliance and safety participation, and we also define three additional factors of the intelligent image analysis system such as functional feature, penalty and incentive by using factor analysis. SEM(Structural Equation Modeling) analyses on the data from the total of 73 workers showed that functional feature of intelligent analysis system and incentive were positively related to safety knowledge and safety motivation. And mediation effects of the relationship were verified to safety compliance and safety participation through safety knowledge as well.
A model based on genetic algorithm optimization, GA-SVM, is proposed to warn university students of their status. This model improves the predictive effect of support vector machines. The genetic optimization algorithm is used to train the hyperparameters and adjust the kernel parameters, kernel penalty factor C, and gamma to optimize the support vector machine model, which can rapidly achieve convergence to obtain the optimal solution. The experimental model was trained on open-source datasets and validated through comparisons with random forest, backpropagation neural network, and GA-SVM models. The test results show that the genetic algorithm-optimized radial basis kernel support vector machine model GA-SVM can obtain higher accuracy rates when used for early warning in university learning.
In this paper optimization of volume fraction distribution in a thick hollow cylinder with finite length made of two-dimensional functionally graded material (2D-FGM) and subjected to steady state thermal and mechanical loadings is considered. The finite element method with graded material properties within each element (graded finite elements) is used to model the structure. Volume fractions of constituent materials on a finite number of design points are taken as design variables and the volume fractions at any arbitrary point in the cylinder are obtained via cubic spline interpolation functions. The objective function selected as having the normalized effective stress equal to one at all points that leads to a uniform stress distribution in the structure. Genetic Algorithm jointed with interior penalty-function method for implementing constraints is effectively employed to find the global solution of the optimization problem. Obtained results indicates that by using the uniform distribution of normalized effective stress as objective function, considerably more efficient usage of materials can be achieved compared with the power law volume fraction distribution. Also considering uniform distribution of safety factor as design criteria instead of minimizing peak effective stress affects remarkably the optimum volume fractions.

The alignment of DNA sequences is one of the important processes in the field of bioinformatics. The Smith-Waterman algorithm (SWA) performs optimally for aligning sequences but is computationally expensive. Field programmable gate array (FPGA) performs the best on parameters such as cost, speed-up, and ease of re-configurability to implement SWA. The performance of FPGA-based SWA is dependent on efficient cell-basic implementation-unit design. In this paper, we present an optimized systolic cell design while avoiding oversimplification, very large-scale integration (VLSI)-level design, and direct mapping of iterative equations such as previous cell designs. The proposed design makes efficient use of hardware resources and provides portability as the proposed design is not based on gate-level details. Our cell design implementing a linear gap penalty resulted in a performance improvement of 32× over a GPP platform and surpassed the hardware utilization of another implementation by a factor of 4.23.

Service quality is very important to marketers and consumers in that it has many strategic benefits in contributing to profitability of marketing activities and consumers' problem-solving activities. Moreover, despite the phenomenal growth of physical fitness centers little research has focused on the evaluation of service quality from exercisers' perspectives. The major purpose of this article is to explore the concept of two-factor model and its influences on exerciser's perception of quality. This article attempts to achieve its purpose by (1)classfying critical service attibutes into hygiene factors and satisfiers (2) measuring the relative importance of need criteria (3) evaluating SERVPERF model and SERVQUAL model in service sector and (4)identifying the relationship between overall satisfaction and behavior. In explaining the relationship between perceived performance and overall satisfaction only 27 out of original 33 survey items were appreared to be statistically significant. Hence a penalty-reward analysis was performed on these critical attributes to find out 11 satisfiers and 9 hygiene factors. In addition, it was found that only experience-based norms(SERVPERF model) were more appropriate than expectations to serve as a benchmark against which service experiences were compared(SERVQUAL model). However it must be noted that the degree of association to overall satisfaction was not consistent.

Recently oil price has got lower, but energy efficiency has been considered as an important factor to minimize ship operational costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. For the reason, it is necessary that energy efficiency improvement for hull form design and operational performance reflect an understanding of the vessel's operational profile. Throughout the life of the vessel, this can lead to important economies of fuel, even if, in some cases, a small penalty can be taken for design condition. In the present paper, hull form was developed for 5,000TEU class container carrier at given operation profile. As a CFD result at several design point, optimized hull form has improved resistance performance in comparison with the basis hull form. To reducing the viscosity and the wave resistance at multi draft and multi speed, the hull form was investigated for Cp-curve, frame and local shape. Numerical study has been performed using WAVIS & Star-CCM+ and verified by model test in the towing tank.
In case of conventional shallow-draft semisubmersibles, unacceptably large riser stroke was the restricting factor for dry-tree-riser-semisubmersible development. Many attempts to address this issue have focused on using larger draft and size with extra heave-damping plates, which results in a huge cost increase. The objective of this paper is to investigate an alternative solution by improving riser systems through the implementation of a magneto-rheological damper (MR Damper) so that it can be used with moderate-size/draft semisubmersibles. In this regard, MR-damper riser systems and connections are numerically modeled so that they can couple with hull-mooring time-domain simulations. The simulation results show that the moderate-size semisubmersible with MR damper system can be used with conventional dry-tree pneumatic tensioners by effectively reducing stroke-distance even in the most severe (1000-yr) storm environments. Furthermore, the damping level of the MR damper can be controlled to best fit target cases by changing input electric currents. The reduction in stroke allows smaller topside deck spacing, which in turn leads to smaller deck and hull. As the penalty of reducing riser stroke by MR damper, the force on the MR-damper can significantly be increased, which requires applying optimal electric currents.

Experimental results for forced convection condensationof Refrigerant-22 and ternary Refrigerant-407c(HFC-32/125/134a 23/25/52 wt%) considered as a substitute R-22 inside horizontal micor-fin tubes are presented. The test section was horizontal double-tubed counterflow condenser with a length 4000 mm micro-fin tube having 9.53 mm OD., 0.2 mm fin height and 60 fins. The refrigerants R-22 and R-407c were cooled by a coolant circulated in a surrounding annulus. The range of parameters of mass velocity was varied from 102.1 to 301.0kg/($\textrm{m}^{2}.s$) with inlet quality 1.0. Both refrigerant R-22 and its alternative refrigerant R-407c were tested within the same range of parameters. At the given experimental conditions for R-22 and R-407c the pressure drops for R-407c were considerably higher than those for R-22 at micro-fin tubes. Over the mass velocity range tested the PF(penalty factor)was lower than the increasing ratio of heat transfer area by fins. Based on the data correlation was proposed for predicting the frictional pressure drops for R-22 and R-407c for a duration of condensation inside a horizontal micro-fin tube.
