  • DS/CDMA 방식의 역방향 링크 구조에 Peak-to-Average Ratio(PAR) 성능은 대역 확산 신호의 위상의 변화로 해석된다. 본 논문에서는 대역확산 신호의 위상 변화를 이용하여 PAR 특성을 해석하는 방법을 제안한다. 이러한 해석 방법을 토대로 기존의 방법을 분석하고, 몇 가지 PAR 성능 개선 방법의 예를 제시하였다. 또한 제시된 방법이 BER 성능에서도 기존의 방법과 큰 차이가 없음을 확인하였다.

Negative Differential Resistance Devices with Ultra-High Peak-to-Valley Current Ratio and Its Multiple Switching Characteristics

  • We propose a novel negative differential resistance (NDR) device with ultra-high peak-to-valley current ratio (PVCR) by combining pn junction diode with depletion mode nanowire (NW) transistor, which suppress the valley current with transistor off-leakage level. Band-to-band tunneling (BTBT) Esaki diode with degenerately doped pn junction can provide multiple switching behavior having multi-peak and valley currents. These multiple NDR characteristics can be controlled by doping concentration of tunnel diode and threshold voltage of NW transistor. By designing our NDR device, PVCR can be over $10^4$ at low operation voltage of 0.5 V in a single peak and valley current.

  • In this letter, a block code that minimizes the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals is proposed. It is shown that peak envelope power is invariant to cyclic shift and codeword inversion. The systematic encoding rule for the proposed code is composed of searching for a seed codeword, shifting the register elements, and determining codeword inversion. This eliminates the look-up table for one-to-one correspondence between the source and the coded data. Computer simulation confirms that OFDM systems with the proposed code always have the minimum PAPR.

공명 투과 구조의 MOCVD 성장 및 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the MOCVD Growth and Characterization of Resonant Tunneling Structures)

  • 대기압 MOCVD방법으로 이중 장벽 구조의 공명 투과 소자를 제작하여 상온과 77K에서의 부저항 특성을 특정하였다. GaAs 양자 우물과 spacer, AIGaAs 장벽을 사용하여 성장온도를 변화시켜 공명 투과 소자를 제작한 결과 상온에서 2.35, 77K에서 15.3의 높은 peak-to-valley 전류비를 얻었다 컴퓨터 모의 실험에서는 coherent 투과만을 고려하여 peak 전류를 계산해서 실험치와 잘 일치하는 것을 알 수 있었다. AlGaAs 장벽에 InGaAs 양자 우물과 spacer를 사용하여 전자의 공급량을 증가시킨 구조에서는 상온에서 8.6KA/cm의 높은 peak 전류와 4.0의 큰 peak-to-valley 전류비를 얻었다.

복합운동처치가 태권도 선수의 슬관절 등속성 근 기능에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Combined Exercise Training to Knee Joint Isokinetic Muscular Function in the Taekwondo Athlete)

  • 본 연구에서는 남자 고등부 태권도 선수들을 대상으로 하여 등장성운동과 등척성 등장성운동을 혼합하여 복합 훈련을 실시한 차이를 알아보기 위하여 등속성 근 기능 중 최대우력, 동측근력비율, 양측근력비율, 근지구력을 분석한 결과를 다음과 같은 결론으로 나타내었다. 첫째, 최대우력은 좌우측 신굴근 모두에서 등장성 운동집단에 비하여 복합 훈련집단이 유의하게 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 동측근력비율, 근지구력은 두 집단 간에 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았지만, 운동전후에 차이에 있어서는 두 집단 모두 유의하게 증가하였다. 셋째, 양측근력비율은 두 집단 간에 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았지만, 운동전후에 차이에 있어서는 두 집단 모두 유의하게 감소하였다. 이러한 결과로서 태권도 선수들의 경기력 증가를 위한 주요 체력요소인 평형능력, 근 지구력의 향상을 위한 방법으로 등장성 운동과 복합훈련 중 어떠한 방법으로 실시하여도 근 기능을 향상 시킬 수 있는 운동법으로 생각된다. 그러나 등척성 운동과 등장성 운동을 복합적으로 실시하였을 경우 최대우력이 등장성운동을 실시한 집단에 비하여 유의하게 증가하는 현상으로 보면 태권도 발차기의 파워를 보다 증가시키기 위해서는 등장성 운동과 등척성을 복합적으로 실시하는 운동방법이 보다 효과적인 방법으로 생각된다.

  • The damping ratio ${\xi}$ of the unit-step response of a second-order discrete system is a function of only the location of the closed-loop poles and is not directly related to the location of the system zero. However, the peak overshoot of the response is the function of both the damping ratio ${\xi}$ and an angle ${\alpha}$, which is the phasor angle of the damped sinusoidal response and is determined by the relative location of the zero with respect to the closed-loop poles. Therefore, if the zero and the open-loop poles are relatively adjusted, through pole-zero cancellation, to maintain the desired (or designed) closed-loop poles, the damping ratio ${\xi}$ will also be maintained, while the angle ${\alpha}$ changes. Accordingly, when the closed-loop system poles are fixed, the peak overshoot is considered as a function of the angle ${\alpha}$ or the system zero location. In this paper the effects of the relative location of the zero on the system performance of a second-order discrete system is studied, and a design method of digital compensator which achieves a minimum peak overshoot while maintaining the desired system mode and the damping ratio of the unit step response is presented.

라이즈-스팬 비에 따른 개폐식 돔 지붕의 외장재 설계용 피크순압력계수 (Peak Net Pressure Coefficients for Cladding Design of Retractable Dome Roofs according to Rise-Span Ratio)

  • In this study, the characteristics of wind pressure distribution on circular retractable dome roofs with a low rise-to-span ratio were analyzed under various approaching flow conditions by obtaining and analyzing wind pressures under three different turbulent boundary layers. Compared to the results of previous studies with a rise-to-span ratio of 0.1, it was confirmed that a lower rise-to-span ratio increases the reattachment length of the separated approaching flow, thereby increasing the influence of negative pressure. Additionally, it was found that wind pressures varied significantly according to the characteristics of the turbulence intensity. Based on these experimental results, a model for peak net pressure coefficients for cladding design was proposed, considering variations in turbulence intensity and height.

  • The theoretical analysis for AlInAs/GaInAs resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs), which have shown the improved negative differential resistance (NDR) characteristics, has scarcely been made in comparison with AlGaAS/GaAs RTDs. In this paper, the static current-voltage relation of Al$_{0.48}In_{0.52}As/Ga_{0.47}In_{0.53}$As RTDs were numerically estimated by using a self-consistent method. Assuming a simplified RTD with single quantum well structure and spacer layers, the peak current density (J$_{P}$) and the peak-to-valley current ratio (PVCR) were analysed as the function of the thickness of the well, the barrier and the spacer layer, and temperature. As the results, the peak current density and the peak-to-valley current ratio indicated a reciprocal relation roughly in respect to the thicknesses of the well and the barrier, and it was theoretically predicted that it be not attainable to provide a high peak current desity (J$_{P}$) over 1${\times}10^{5}A/cm^{2}$ as well as the large peak-to-valley current ratio (PVCR) over 10 that were the the critical conditions for the practical use.

Dependency of COD on ground motion intensity and stiffness distribution

  • Large changes in stiffness associated with cracking and yielding of reinforced concrete sections may be expected to occur during the dynamic response of reinforced concrete frames to earthquake ground shaking. These changes in stiffness in stories that experience cracking might be expected to cause relatively large peak interstory drift ratios. If so, accounting for such changes would add complexity to seismic design procedures. This study evaluates changes in an index parameter to establish whether this effect is significant. The index, known as the coefficient of distortion (COD), is defined as the ratio of peak interstory drift ratio and peak roof drift ratio. The sensitivity of the COD is evaluated statistically for five- and nine-story reinforced concrete frames having either uniform story heights or a tall first story. A suite of ten ground motion records was used; this suite was scaled to five intensity levels to cause varied degrees of damage to the concrete frame elements. Ground motion intensity was found to cause relatively small changes in mean CODs; the changes were most pronounced for changes in suite scale factor from 0.5 to 1 and from 1 to 4. While these changes were statistically significant in several cases, the magnitude of the change was sufficiently small that values of COD may be suggested for use in preliminary design that are independent of shaking intensity. Consequently, design limits on interstory drift ratio may be implemented by limiting the peak roof drift in preliminary design.

Analysis of the dynamic confining effect of CRAC short column under monotonic loadings

  • Based on the dynamic tests of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) short columns confined by the hoop reinforcement, the dynamic failure mechanism and the mechanical parameters related to the constitutive relation of confined recycled aggregate concrete (CRAC) were investigated thoroughly. The fracturing sections were relatively flat and smooth at higher strain rates rather than those at a quasi-static strain rate. With the increasing stirrup volume ratio, the crack mode is transited from splitting crack to slipping crack constrained with large transverse confinement. The compressive peak stress, peak strain, and ultimate strain increase with the increase of stirrup volume ratio, as well as the increasing strain rate. The dynamic confining increase factors of the compressive peak stress, peak strain, and ultimate strain increase by about 33%, 39%, and 103% when the volume ratio of hoop reinforcement is increased from 0 to 2%, but decrease by about 3.7%, 4.2%, and 9.1% when the stirrup spacing is increased from 20mm to 60mm, respectively. This sentence is rephrased as follows: When the stirrup volume ratios are up to 0.675%, and 2%, the contributions of the hoop confinement effect to the dynamic confining increase factors of the compressive peak strain and the compressive peak stress are greater than those of the strain rate effect, respectively. The dynamic confining increase factor (DCIF) models of the compressive peak stress, peak strain, and ultimate strain of CRAC are proposed in the paper. Through the confinement of the hoop reinforcement, the ductility of RAC, which is generally slightly lower than that of NAC, is significantly improved.
