New piezoelectric and triboelectric materials for energy harvesting are being widely researched to reduce their processing cost and complexity and to improve their energy conversion efficiency. In this study, BaTiO3 films of various thickness were deposited on Ni foams by R.F. magnetron sputtering to study the piezoelectric and triboelectric properties of the porous spongy structure materials. Then piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs) were prepared with spongy structured BaTiO3 and PDMS composite. The output performance exhibited a positive dependence on the thickness of the BaTiO3 film, pushing load, and poling. The PENG output voltage and current were 4.4 V and 0.453 ㎂ at an applied stress of 120 N when poled with a 300 kV/cm electric field. The electrical properties of the fabricated PENG were stable even after 5,000 cycles of durability testing. The triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) were fabricated using spongy structured BaTiO3 and various polymer films as dielectrics and operated in a vertical contact separation mode. The maximum peak to peak voltage and current of the composite film-based triboelectric nanogenerator were 63.2 V and 6 ㎂, respectively. This study offers new insights into the design and fabrication of high output nanogenerators using spongy structured materials.
A pulsed power supply of 2.4MJ capacitor bank has been developed to make investigation into electric gun technology. It is made up of eight paralleled 300kJ modules, and can supply various shape of high current pulse by changing charging voltage, inductance, capacitance, and firing time of each module. The 300kJ module has been designed and fabricated for the maximum operating voltage of 22kV, peak current of 150kA, and pulse duration of 1msec. The experiments of the modules were done, and the equivalent circuit of the module was determined. The characteristics of the module were analyzed more deeply through the circuit simulation. The experiments of the paralleled modules with inductance of 20 $\mu$H and load resistance of 100 m$\Omega$ were performed, where the modules were discharged simultaneously and/or sequentially. The results of the experiments were analyzed. The 2.4MJ capacitor bank is currently used as the pulsed power supply for the ETCG (Electro Thermal Chemical Gun) research.

The surface roughness depending on the machining method is very important because is produce a finished product through riveting, sealing, bonding, and special paint in order to curb the turbulence and air resistance which occur between the sheets. Aluminum alloy 2024 which is widely used for interior and exterior material of aircraft are tested. Jin-young JW-60C wire cutting machine was used in this experiment. In this paper, the experimental investigation has been performed to find out the influence of the surface roughness and surface shape characteristics on the wire-cut EDM of discharge energy in aluminium alloy 2024. The selected experimental parameters are peak current, no-load voltage, off time and feed rate. The experimental results give the guideline for selecting reasonable machining parameters. The high discharge energy on the idle time, almost no change in surface roughness can be seen.
This paper focuses on a systematical and in-depth analysis of the reactive power and soft-switching regions of Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters with dual-phase-shift (DPS) control to achieve high efficiency in a wide operating range. The key features of the DPS operating modes are characterized and verified by analytical calculation and experimental tests. The mathematical expressions of the reactive power are derived and the reductions of the reactive power are illustrated with respect to a wide range of output power and voltage conversion ratios. The ZVS soft-switching boundary of the DPS is presented and one more leg with ZVS capability is achieved compared with the CPS control. With the selection of the optimal operating mode, the optimal phase-shift pair is determined by performance indices, which include the minimum peak or rms inductor current. All of the theoretical analysis and optimizations are verified by experimental tests. The experimental results with the DPS demonstrate the efficiency improvement for different load conditions and voltage conversion ratios.

This paper discusses the definition and concepts, approach methodologies, capable application areas in electricity business, and tentative calculation of avoided generation costs based on the Korea's official long-term generation expansion plan. The objective to evaluate avoided costs of a resource is to supply decision makers with the breakeven cost of a targeting avoided resource. For the evaluation of avoided costs of the Korea's generation system, we consider the pseudo-DSM option which has 1,000MW peak savings, load factor with 70 percent, and life-time With 25 years as the avoided resource. The DSM resource can save the fuel and capacity additions of a electric utility during its life time. The capacity and fuel savings are evaluated from the two different cashflows with and Without the DSM option, which are generated on the basis of the generation system optimization model(WASP-II), independently. The breakeven kWh costs of the DSM option over this 25-year period is projected to be 34.1[won/kWh], which is composed of generation-capacity and fuel avoided costs with 101.139[won/kW] and 17.6[won/kWh], respectively.
The connectorless power supply system on that multi-contact causes confidence when the wiring reconstructed in the rear. As you see above, contact points between sets and indoor space cause inferior function of audio frequency so it needs to be eliminated. This paper explains the structure of connectorless power supply to supply the system with power crossing the air gap in the part of inductively in the connectorless power supply of both magnetic and electrical model. To get maximum output of electrical load, compensating capacitor compensates to show inter-inductance, lequeage-inductance reducing the track-inductance and access the conditions for resonance. At that time it accesses the maximum electric power. The small change of the value of compensating capacitor causes the changes of maximum electric power. Here the power electronics technology is used not only in the industrial machinery but also in the home appliances so the switching power supply is used to actualize the miniaturization, lightweight, and high efficiency. Generally the condenser input methods are widely used in the rectification circuit of switching power supply, but condenser input method generate great quantity of high frequency components because with this method the current flows in the power input filtering condenser only around value of peak of ac input voltage. To solve these problems, installation of power factor improve circuit on the front of filtering capacitence was considered. Several methods were suggested regarding, but the active filter method which makes smalliging and highly power factor possible are the produce main stream. IC for power factor improvement can be utilized by CMOS process proposing low power consumption. When the high power factor is considered seriously in the power factor improvement circuit, active filter method is selected. In the active filter method, the boost converter is used. Regarding this ·the boost converter is needed.
In this paper, a novel hybrid configuration combining a phase-shift full-bridge (PSFB) and a half-bridge resonant LLC converter is proposed for the On-Board Charger of Electric Vehicles (EVs). In the proposed converter, the PSFB converter shares the lagging-leg switches with half-bridge resonant converter to achieve the wide ZVS range for the switches and to improve the efficiency. The output voltage is modulated by the effective-duty-cycle of the PSFB converter. The proposed converter employs an active reset circuit composed of an active switch and a diode for the transformer which makes it possible to achieve zero circulating current and the soft switching characteristic of the primary switches and rectifier diodes regardless of the load, thereby making the converter highly efficient and eliminating the reverse recovery problem of the diodes. In addition an optimal power sharing strategy is proposed to meet the specification of the charger and to optimize the efficiency of the converter. The operation principle the proposed converter and design considerations for high efficiency are presented. A 6.6 kW prototype converter is fabricated and tested to evaluate its performance at different conditions. The peak efficiency achieved with the proposed converter is 97.7%.

Impact on cylindrical surface caused by plunging breaking waves is investigated experimentally. The breaking waves are generated in a wave flume by decreasing the wave maker frequencies linearly and focusing the generated wave components at one specific location. The breaking wave packets are based on constant wave steepness spectrum. Three inclination angles of cylinder are applied to examine the effect of contact angle between cylinder and front surface of breaking waves. Also, the effect of cylinder diameter on pressure distribution and its peak value is investigated by adopting three cylinders with different diameters. The longitudinal location of cylinder is slightly moved in eight different points to find out a probable maximum value of impact pressure. The pressures and total force on cylinder surface are measured by piezo-electric pressure sensors and 3-components load cell with 30kHz sampling rate. The variation of peak impact pressures and forces is analyzed in terms of cylinder diameter, inclination angle and location. Also, the pressure distribution on cylindrical surface is examined. The cylinder location and surface position are more important parameters that govern the magnitude and shape of peak pressures, while the cylinder diameter and inclined angle are relatively insignificant. In a certain conditions, the impact phenomenon becomes very unstable which results in a large variation of measured valves in repeated runs.
Increasing concerns on climate change and energy security accelerated policies to reduce green-house gas emission, especially from the transportation sector. Electric vehicle (EV) has been on the spotlight to deal with such environmental issue and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) technology began to draw attentions as an alternative to reduce ownership costs while contributing to an efficient and decentralized power grid. This study conducts a scenario analysis on total cost of ownership of EV under V2G scheme and compare with non-V2G EV and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle. As result, V2G service is expected to provide an annual average profit of $210 to EV users willing to reverse flow its residual power in the battery. The profit from V2G service leaves a margin of $4,530 over operational lifetime, compared with $2,420 cost of charge for non-V2G EV. In summary, total cost of ownership of V2G-capable EV was 6.2% less than non-V2G EV and 10.2% higher than ICE vehicle. The results confirm a comparative economic advantage of operating EV under V2G scheme. Increased number of EVs with V2G service has shown to provide positive effects to power industry for valley filling in load distribution, thus, favorably increasing the overall economic feasibility.

Hybrid power storage system with emergency power function for demand management and power outage minimizes the investment cost in the building of buildings and factories requiring emergency power generation facilities, We propose a new business model by developing technology that can secure economical efficiency by reducing power cost at all times. Normally, system power is supplied to load through STS (Static Transfer Switch), and PCS is connected to system in parallel to perform demand management. In order to efficiently operate the electric power through demand forecasting, the EMS issues a charge / discharge command to the ESS as a PMS (Power Management System), and the PMS transmits the command to the PCS controller to operate the system. During the power outage, the STS is rapidly disengaged from the system, and the PCS becomes an independent power supply and can supply constant voltage / constant frequency power to the load side. Therefore, it is possible to secure reliability through verification of actual system linkage and independent operation performance of hybrid ESS, By enabling low-carbon green growth technology to operate in conjunction with an efficient grid, it is possible to improve irregular power quality and contribute to peak load by generating renewable energy through ESS linkage. In addition, the ESS is replacing the frequency follow-up reserve, which is currently under the charge of coal-fired power generation, and thus it is anticipated that the operation cost of the LNG generator with high fuel cost can be reduced.
