부정류에 의한 감조하천의 홍수분석 (Flood Analysis by Unsteady Flow on Tidal River Estuary)

  • The flow in a river reach where is influenced by tidal motion is characterized by unsteady flow. The flood analysis in the river reach needs depending upon the theory based on the complete unsteady flow equations. In this study the unsteady flow model which is called CRIUM (Channel Routing by Implicit Unsteady Flow Model) was developed and was applied to the Mankyong and Dongjin river in order to analyze the flood characteristics. The results, which were calibrated and verified by the flood records to be measured in the two rivers, show that unsteady flow mode] can be used for the derivation of the flood hydrograph. The peak flood discharges were estimated as 4,960 and $2,870m^3$/sec in 100 year frequency at the estuary of the Mankyong and Dongjin river, respectively. In addition, it was analyzed that the river reaches were not influenced by tidal motion when the discharge magnitude was larger than approximately $3,000m^3$/sec.

  • For a vessel to safely navigate on the ocean, it is required to check the vessel position as frequently as possible. When a vessel navigates oil the ocean or entering/leaving a port, the target area such as islands, points and mountain peak, etc. are used. However, when such target are not available or when vessel navigates in night time, installed artificial navigation aid facilities help successful vessel navigation. Light Wave Aid helps to confirm a position to the navigator directly and quickly. So, the synchronous light to display the accurate signal has wide applications. However, lantern domestic industry is small, and most of the products show non-compatibility. Consequently, this paper presents the synchronous lighting using UTC of GPS, which maintains compatibility with different lanterns. Also, by replacing conventional electric bulb with LED lamp, simple and efficient lighting system is obtained.

최적화기법에 의한 관개저수지의 실시간 홍수예측모형 (Real-time Flood Forecasting Model for Irrigation Reservoir Using Simplex Method)

  • The basic concept of the model is to minimize the error range between forecasted flood inflow and actual flood inflow, and forecast accurately the flood discharge some hours in advance depending on the concentration time(Tc) and soil moisture retention storage(Sa). Simplex method that is a multi-level optimization technique was used to search for the determination of the best parameters of RETFLO (REal-Time FLOod forecasting) model. The flood forecasting model developed was applied to several strom event of Yedang reservoir during past 10 years. Model perfomance was very good with relative errors of 10% for comparison of total runoff volume and with one hour delayed peak time.

관개저수지의 적정 홍수조절용량 설정방법 (Optimal Flood Control Volume in the Irrigation Reservoir)

  • Water level of irrigation reservoir during the flood season could be kept to a certain level, so called, flood control level by releasing the flood inflow in advance in order to reduce the peak discharge of next coming flood and the damage of inundation. Concept of restriction intensity of water supply was introduced to evaluate the influence of flood control volume on the irrigation water supply. Restriction intensity can be calculated by multiplying the ratio of restriction to the days of restriction which are obtained from the operation rule curve and daily water level of irrigation reservoir and it has the dimension of % day. The method of restriction intensity was applied to the Yedang irrigation reservoir with the observed data of 30 years to review whether the present flood control volume is reasonable or not, and suggest the optimal flood control volume, if possible.

  • To protect the flooding damages in Medium and Small watershed, it needs to set up flood warning system and develope Flood forecasting Model in real-time basis for medium and small watershed. In this study, it was able to minimize the error range between forecasted flood inflow and actual flood inflow, and forecast accurately the flood discharge some hours in advance by using simplex method recursively for the determination of the best parameters of RETFLO model. The result of RETFLO performance applied to several storm of Yugu river during 3 past years was very good with relative errors of 10% for comparison of total runoff volume and with one hour delayed peak time.

소하천 유역의 유출변화 특성분석 (An Analysis of Runoff Characteristics at Creeks)

  • 본 연구에서는 자연형하천으로 정비된 소하천의 실태조사를 통해 정비현황의 문제점을 조사하였다. 수원천 수계에 포함된 창사천을 대상으로 현장관측을 실시하였다. 창사천에서 관측된 강우량, 유속, 수심 등의 자료를 이용하여 운동파 모형의 적용성을 평가하였으며, 실무에서 널리 사용되고 있는 SCS, Clark, RRL 모형과도 비교하였다. 운동파방정식을 창사천유역에 적용했을 때 실측치와 비교적 유사한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Characteristics of Electron Beam Extraction in Large Area Electron Beam Generator

  • A large area electron beam generator has been developed for industrial applications, for example, waste water cleaning, flue gas treatment, and food pasteurization. The operational principle is based on the emission of secondary electrons from the cathode when ions in the plasma contact the cathode, which are accelerated toward the exit window by the gradient of the electric potential. Conventional electron beam generators require an electron beam scanning mechanism because a small area thermal electron emitter is used. The electron beam of the large area electron beam generator does not need to be scanned over target material because the beam area is considerable. We have fabricated a large area electron beam generator with peak energy of 200keV, and a beam diameter of 200mm. The electron beam current has been investigated as a function of accelerating voltage and distance from the extracting window while its radial distribution in front of the extracting window has been also measured.

  • Impervious surface is an important index for the estimation of urbanization and environmental change. In addition, impervious surface has an influence on the parameters of rainfall-runoff model during rainy season. The increase of impervious surface causes peak discharge increasing and fast concentration time in urban area. Accordingly, impervious surface estimation is an important factor of urban rainfall-runoff model development and calibration. In this study, impervious surface estimation is performed by using remote sensing images such as landsat-7 ETM+ and high resolution satellite image and regression tree algorithm based on case study area ? Jungnang-cheon basin in Korea.

  • The optimal mixing condition of four components gas(Ne,Xe,He,Ar) in PDPs was caculated by a numerical simulation method. The dominated reactions in which $Xe^*(^3P_1)$ is produced and decays were investigated in three components gas (Ne,Xe,He) and our new components gas (Ne,Xe,He,Ar). A peak point of $Xe^*$ density appears in the range of 0.1% to 2% of Ar mixture ratio. The results of simulation show that the direct exitation of Xe by electrons has the greatest influence on the inceasing $Xe^*$ density in both gas mixtures.

  • Recently, high-efficiency machining in the production of high-value products with a complex shape has constantly been required with the need for hybrid machining. In this study, in addition to the wire-cut E.D.M. and vibration used to present the possibility of a hybrid process by carrying out the aluminum alloy experiment, the hybrid process determines the nature of the surface. The selected experimental parameters are horizontality, waveform, amplitude, peak current, and frequency. The experimental results give guidelines for selecting reasonable machining parameters. The surface roughness was improved by about 20% with increases in the amplitude of the vibration.
