Effect of Sawdust Mixing Ratio on Composting of Animal Cadaver Residue Using Rendering Treatment Method (톱밥 혼합비율이 랜더링 처리 가축사체의 퇴비화에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to obtain optimum mixing conditions with animal cadaver residue and sawdust for composting using rendering treatment method for agricultural recycling, changes of chemical characteristics and compost quality after composting were investigated. Initial mixing ratios with animal cadaver residue and sawdust were adjusted 100 : 0, 50 : 50 and 30 : 70. Temperature, pH, contents of ammonia and carbon dioxide were rapidly increased in 3 days and then decreased with time. Organic matter content was similar in all conditions. In mixing ratio of 50 : 50, the compost quality was satisfied with compost depending on official standard for product fertilizer. Thus, the optimum mixing ratio of animal cadaver residue and sawdust were 50 : 50.

Determination of Heavy Metals in Sanitary Products of Women (여성용 위생용품의 유해중금속 분석)

  • Endometriosis becomes the most common cause of pelvic pain and infertility women. The cause of endometriosis has ever been entirely proven. However, an increased use of commercial feminine hygiene products such as tampons and sanitary napkins was considered one of the major affect. Harmful substances in feminine hygiene products was analyzed and evaluated. Samples of commercial products obtained from Korea, Japan, America, Germany, and China were analyzed for six hazardous inorganic elements (chromium, cobalt, nickel, copper, cadmium and lead). In the extractable heavy metals of napkins, Cr, Ni and Cu were found in all of the samples, while Cd was detected only in two samples. In the tampons, Cr, Ni and Cu were found in all of the samples. The presence of Co and Cd was not detected in all samples The concentrations of extractable heavy metals in the tampons were lower than those in the sanitary napkins. The content of extractable heavy metals in the sanitary products was compared with the criteria of the 100 $\ddot{O}KO$ TEX Standard. It was confirmed that the level of heavy metals in the sanitary products posed no serious risk to health, based on the human-ecological criteria defined by the 100 $\ddot{O}KO$ TEX Standard.

  • Assessment and damage reduction strategy of acidic rock drainage were conducted in a section of ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ highway construction site. The geology of the studied section consists of Icheonri sandstone and intermediate to acidic volcanic rocks. Sulfides occur as a disseminated type in sandstone and volcanics which were altered by the hydrothermal solution of granite intrusion. Volcanics and sandstone with a high content of sulfide were classified as a potentially acid rock drainage(ARD) forming rock. The drainage originated from those rocks may acidify and contaminate the surrounding area during the highway construction. Therefore, the drainage should be treated before it is discharged. A slope landslide hazard due to the ARD was also expected and the coating technology was recommended for the reduction of ARD generation as a preemptive measure before reinforcement work for enhancing slope stability such as shotcrete and anchor. According to the ARD risk analysis, those rocks should not be used as cement aggregate, but only to be used as a bank fill material of a filling-up system that allows minimal contact with rainfall and groundwater.

Synthesis of Aliphatic Ester-Carbonate Copolymer (지방족 에스터-카보네이트 공중합체의 합성)

  • An ester-carbonate copolymer was synthesized, in which carbonate was inserted into a biodegradable aliphatic polyester, poly(butylene succinate) (PBS), to modify its mechanical properties. The synthesis was carried out by condensation reactions in two steps. In the first step, oligo(butylene succinate) was prepared by the reaction of succinic acid with 1,4-butanediol (BD). In the second step, it was reacted with oligohexamethylenecarbonate diol (OHMCG) to prepare the ester-carbonate copolymer. Titanium(IV) isopropoxide (TIP) was used as a catalyst for the reaction. The structure of the copolymer was confirmed by FT-IR and $^1H$-NMR and the thermal behavior and mechanical properties were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and universal testing machine (UTM), respectively. It was found that optimum amount of the catalyst for the formation of high molecular weight copolymer was 1wt% for succinic acid. When the BD:OHMCG is in the range 149:1~249:1, the copolymer with high viscosity was obtained. As the OHMCG content was increased, melting temperature ($T_m$) of the copolymer was decreased. When BD:OHMCG is 149:1, the copolymer showed a increase in ultimate strain by two times and the slight decrease in modulus compared to those of PBS.

Evaluating Quality of Fertilizer Manufactured (livestock manure compost) with Different Sources in Korea (우리나라 퇴비의 축종별 성분함량 실태 평가)

  • The main objective of this research was to evaluate physicochemical properties of commercially available fertilizer manufactured with different sources (swine, cattle, poultry, and mixed manure) in Korea. Results of this research showed that average content of organics was ranged 39.11-40.78% depending on different sources with the highest value in swine manure. Average water contents in fertilizer was ordered swine > cattle > mixed > poultry, and ranged 37.00-42.16%. Total of 8 heavy metals (As, Cd, Hg, Pb, Cr, Cu, Ni, and Zn) were investigated and no significant difference was observed for average concentration of heavy metals depending on different sources except Zn and Cu. For both heavy metals, fertilizer manufactured with swine manure showed higher concentration (346.34 mg/kg for Zn and 117.00 mg $kg^{-1}$ for Cu) than other fertilizers mainly due to feed contents. More long term monitoring would be necessary to make best management practice for commercially available fertilizer in Korea.

  • 하수관거 설계시나 단지개발사업, 그리고 하수관거정비사업과 같이 오수처리시설의 적정 규모 결정을 위해서는 정확한 상수사용량 및 오수발생량 원단위가 요구되지만 국내의 경우 이러한 원단위에 대한 기초자료 부족과 자료의 신빙성 결여로 인해 적정 원단위를 결정하는데 어려움이 있다. 이러한 관점에서 단지개발이 이루어지는 도시에서는 도시의 규모, 입지조건, 기후조건, 생활양식 등 다양한 요인들이 고려된 오수발생패턴 및 발생량 조사가 필요하며, 조사된 원단위는 오수처리시설의 적정 규모 결정뿐 아니라 침입수/유입수 분석 및 하수관거정비에 대한 성과예측에도 활용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 현재 단지개발 및 하수관거정비사업이 진행중인 하남시의 표본이 될 수 있는 대표구역을 선정하고 그 지역에서 조사지역을 세부적으로 분류하여 각 지역별 오수발생특성을 분석하였다. 대상지역인 하남시는 총면적의 $97\%$가 자연녹지 및 생산녹지이며, 나머지 $3\%$는 일반주거지역 및 일반 상업지역으로 나뉜다. 그리고 도시계획상 공장지역으로 편성된 부분이 없어 앞으로도 하남시 대부분의 면적이 녹지와 주거/상업지역으로 구성될 것이다. 이러한 하남시의 특성을 고려하여 조사지역은 공장지역을 제외한 일반주거지역, 밀집주거지역, 영업지역으로 분류하였으며 이렇게 분류된 지역은 각각 오수발생패턴 및 오수농도에 대한 조사를 실시하여 오수발생특성을 분석하였고, 조사지역별 인구수 조사와 연계하여 원단위 자료를 추출하였다. 이렇게 조사된 자료들을 통해 침입수/유입수 분석에 요구되는 오수전환율, 야간생활하수량 비율을 산정하였으며, 차후 단지개발 및 관거정비 후에 발생하는 오수 발생특성과 비교분석을 통하여 하남시 지역의 오수발생특성에 대한 신뢰성 있는 자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다. RMA2 모형을 이용하여 충주댐에서의 물의 흐름을 해석한 결과 옥순대교$\~$청풍대교 구간 사이에 댐 및 지형적 영향으로 인해 잘 발달된 와류가 하도 전체를 통하여 발생되고 있었고 이는 댐 부유물 정체현상이 나타나는 지점과 잘 일치하고 있었다.정함 후 감마분석에 의하여 구하였다. CF:CS 연령모델을 적용한 결과 깊이에 따른 supported $^{210}Pb$와 퇴적 속도는 0.91cm/year 인 것으로 산정 되었다.RS is a more advanced content-based image retrieval system than other systems which support only concepts or image features.방하는 것이 선계기준에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 밸브 개폐에 따른 수압 변화를 모의한 결과 밸브 개폐도를 적절히 유지하여 필요수량의 확보 및 누수방지대책에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.8R(mm)(r^2=0.84)$로 지수적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 유거수량은 토성별로 양토를 1.0으로 기준할 때 사양토가 0.86으로 가장 작았고, 식양토 1.09, 식토 1.15로 평가되어 침투수에 비해 토성별 차이가 크게 나타났다. 이는 토성이 세립질일 수록 유거수의 저항이 작기 때문으로 생각된다. 경사에 따라서는 경사도가 증가할수록 증가하였으며 $10\% 경사일 때를 기준으로 $Ro(mm)=Ro_{10}{\times}0.797{\times}e^{-0.021s(\%)}$로 나타났다.천성 승모판 폐쇄 부전등을 초래하는 심각한 선천성 심질환이다. 그러나 진단 즉시 직접 좌관상동맥-대동맥 이식술로 수술적 교정을 해줌으로써 좋은 성적을 기대할 수 있음을 보여주

A Study on the Sewage Sludge and Casting Charateristic Variation During the Continus Vermicomposting (지렁이 퇴비화장치 연속운영시 하수슬러지 침출액 및 분변토 특성변화에 관한 연구)

  • The on-site sewage sludge vermicomposting equipment was designed and evaluated on the batch and continuous tests. The vermicomposting equipment was designed to consider the mechanization as well as automation. Especially, the automatic controls of water content and temperature and the mechanization of the sludge feeding and cast separating were the important factors. In terms of changes in chemical characteristics when the equipments for experiments are operated continuously, the ORP, EC, $NH_3-N$ and $NO_3-N$ were found to be higher before and after treatment. In addition, it was found that changes in properties were low. Furthermore, the $NO_3-N$ concentration of the humus produced after treatment was found to be higher than the $NH_3-N$ concentration showing that it was appropriate based on the recycling criteria.

Status and Changes in Chemical Properties of Paddy Soil in Gangwon Province

  • The chemical properties of paddy fields in Gangwon province were monitored every 4 years from 2003 to 2015 in order to provide basic information for soil fertility management of paddy fields. In 2015, the soil chemical properties of paddy fields were 5.9 in pH, $22g\;kg^{-1}$ in organic matter (OM), and $123mg\;kg^{-1}$ in available (Avail.) phosphate $P_2O_5$. Exchangeable (Exch.) potassium (K), calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) were 0.39, 4.8 and $0.9cmolc\;kg^{-1}$, respectively, and Avail. $SiO_2$ was $170mg\;kg^{-1}$. In the long-term analysis, the contents of Avail. $SiO_2$, Exch. K and pH of paddy soils showed increasing tendency. However, Avail. $P_2O_5$, Exch. Ca and Mg tended to decrease, and there were no significant changes in the contents of OM. Soil OM, Avail. $P_2O_5$ and $SiO_2$ were not different among the different topographical sampling sites. However, the mean value of Exch. K and Ca were different among the different topographical sampling sites, and exceeded optimal values in the fluvio-marine plains. Different soil texture resulted in different soil pH, while no difference for OM, Avail. $P_2O_5$ and $SiO_2$. Paddy soil samples within appropriate pH range increased from 65% in 2003 to 77% in 2007, 68% in 2011, and 71% in 2015. In case of Avail. $SiO_2$, soil samples within appropriate range increased from 20% in 2003, to 37% in 2007, 29% in 2011, and 45% in 2015. Meanwhile, Cd and Pb were distributed to less than 5% of soil pollution standards. Cu, As and Zn were distributed to less than 10%, 15% and 20%, respectively. Therefore, paddy soil in Gangwon Province was judged to be safe. As a result, paddy fields with more or less in nutrient level need to be fertilized based on the soil analysis. And the application of silicate fertilizer is strongly recommended to those of paddy fields in need. In addition, soil management including the cultivation of green manure crop or application of rice straw is necessary to increase the organic matter content of paddy soil.

Spectroscopy of Skarn Minerals in Dangdu Pb-Zn Deposit and Assessment of Skarn Exploration Approaches Employing Portable Spectrometer (당두 연-아연 광상의 스카른 광물의 분광학적 특성과 휴대용 분광계의 스카른 탐사 가능성에 대한 고찰)

  • This study analyzed spectroscopic methods for characterization of skarn minerals and sphalerite occurring in Dangdu ore deposit, and effectiveness of portable spectrometer in skarn mineral resources exploration is discussed. The spectroscopic analyses identified clinopyroxene, garnet, epidote, calcite, chlorite and sphalerite where spectral curves of clinopyroxene, garnet, epidote, and sphalerite show single mineral spectral characteristics and those of chlorite are in a mixed form with calcite and clinopyroxene. The assessment of spectroscopic analyses based on XRD analysis and microscopic observation reveals that clinopyroxene, garnet, epidote correspond well with more than 80% of detection, but sphalerite, chlorite, and calcite showed below 50% of detection rate. It is expected that skarn deposit exploration using a portable spectrometer is more effective in detection of clinopyroxene, garnet, and epidote whereas spectroscopic data of sphalerite, chlorite, and calcite needs to be utilized as a supplementary data. For the effective detection of chlorite and calcite, their content in the samples needs to be sufficient.

금산 인삼의 화학적 특성

  • To clarify of chemical contents for the Keumsan ginseng, two attempts have been done for two year: 2 year and 4 year-ginsengs coilected from the phyllite(Ph0 and granite area(Gr), and 1 year, 2 year and 3 year-ginsengs collected from the phyllite(Ph), shale(Sh) and granite (Gr), In the first attempt, the soil contents of the Ph are high in most of elements. In the comparisons between ages of the ginseng, regardless the area, most of the elements are high in the 4 year and these trends are distinctive in the granite area. In the comparisons of the areas, 2 year-ginsengs of the Ph show high contents in the most of the elements. Comparisons between upper part(leaf and branch) and root part of the ginsengs show that in the 2 year-ginseng, the Gr is high in the root part and the Ph is high in the upper part, while in the 4 year-ginseng, most of the elements are high in the root part. Comparisons between contents of soil and ginsengs show similar in crease and decrese trends. However, the 2 year-ginsengs show clear differences between two areas while in the 4 year-ginseng, differences between the Gr and Ph is not clear. It suggest that the ginsengs absorb eligible element contents with ages, despite of clear content differences of the different soils. In the second attempt, the Gr shows high W, Pb, Th, U, Sn and B contents wlile Ph and Sh show high Ni, Cr, Co, Sc, V, As, Cu and Zn contents. In the comparisons between ages of the ginseng, regardless the area, most of the elements are high in the 2 year, especially in the Gr and Ph. In the comparisons of the areas, 2 year-ginsengs of the Gr show low contents in the most of the elements, and the S1 show higher Ni, V, Th and U contents than the Ph. 3 year-ginsengs of the Gr show low contents in the most of the elements, while the S1 show high contents in the most of elements. relative to the Ph. Comparisons between upper part and root part of the ginsengs show that in the ginseng, regardless the ages, the upper part is high. Comparisons between contents of soil and ginsengs show similar increase and decrese trends, and soil is low than the ginsengs in the most of the elements
