Crushed pinewood and oakwood were studied as an adsorbent for Pb(II) removal from aqueous solution. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out to describe the effects of contact time, initial Pb(II) concentration, pH, competing cations, and adsorbent dosage on the Pb(II) adsorption process. Kinetic studies revealed that the Pb(II) adsorption process for pinewood and oakwood followed both pseudo first and pseudo second order model. The Fruendlich model best described equilibrium adsorption data with correlation coefficients ($R^2$) of 0.956 and 0.950 for pinewood and oakwood. The maximum adsorption capacity of Pb(II) onto pinewood and oakwood was found to be 16.853 and 27.989 mg/g, respectively. The Pb(II) adsorption onto both pinewood and oakwood was increased as pH increased in the pH range 3-9. The presence of cations such as $Na^+$, $Ca^{2+}$, and $Al^{3+}$ decreased Pb(II) adsorption. The Pb(II) removal was greater in seawater than deionized water, resulting from the presence of $CO{_3}^{2-}$ and $OH^-$ ions in seawater. This study showed that pinewood and oakwood have a potential application in the remediation of Pb(II) contaminated water.
In the composition of $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ the effect of particle size on PbO vaporization were measured, . The initial step of discontinuous vaporization of unreated PbO during the calcining process was depended on the particle size. All additives $La_2O_3Nb_2O_5$ and $Al_2O_3$ inhibited the grain growth of the composition $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ +2wt% excess PbO. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the composition $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ were improved by the addition of 2wt% excess PbO and proper additive. The electromechanical planar coupling factor of 0.65 and mechnical quality factor of 390 could be obtained by adding 5wt% $Nb_2O_5$ to the composition 2wt% excess PbO+$Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$.
Stabilization of the perovskite phase and sequence of reactions occuring during calcination were studied with solid solutions formed between Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 and Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3. In the PZN-PFN composition of equal molar ratio, rhombohedral type pyrochlore phase (Pb2Nb2O7) and PbO-rich distorted cubic type pyrochlore phase (Pb3Nb2O8) were coexisted as intermediate phases at temperatures below 85$0^{\circ}C$, and these phases transformed to a stable cubic type pyrochlore phase, Pb3Nb4O13 solid solution and a perovskite solid solution at temperatures above 85$0^{\circ}C$. The major stable phase as increasing sintering temperatures was a perovskite phase in this binary system and prominent suppression of the pyrochlore phase was achieved by substituting Zn2+ with Fe3+ or by increasing sintering temperature. The composition containing 20mol% PZN possessed the best dielectric properties, and the dissipation factor was lower than 5% in all compositions.
While sintering the Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3-BaTiO3 system through solid-reaction route, pyrochlore(Pb3Nb4O13) phase while reduces the dielectric constant is inevitably formed. Substitution of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 with PbTiO3 and BaTiO3 can retard the occurrence of pyrochlore phase. The perovskite solid-solution without containing pyrochlore phase can be obtained when we consolidated the materials consisting of PbTiO3 and BaTiO3 at 1200℃ for 2 hours. The sintered body composed of 0.8Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.1PbTiO3-0.1BaTiO3 composition showed the diffused phase transition(DPT) phenomena and the maximum value of dielectric constant at 0℃ (Tc') with the value of 1.3×104.
Green sheet was prepared by tape casting in the composition of (1-x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 system using Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 and PbTiO3 synthesized with PbO, Nb2O5 MgO and TiO2 The densest green sheet was obtained in the weight ratio 70:30 of powder to binder. Green sheet wasmultilayered in metal mould and formed into lamination at 7$0^{\circ}C$, 300kg/cm2 The lamination was sintered at 110$0^{\circ}C$ 2hr, Dielectric constant and Curie temperature of disc type sintered body was highered with increasing the amount of PbTiO3 and was in the range of 19000-21000, -7~45$^{\circ}C$ respectively. Green and sintered relative density of lamination was 61% and 95% respectively.
The quarternary system ceramics 0.5[yPb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-(1-y)Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3]-0.5[xPbTiO3-(1-x)PbZrO3](PZN-PNN-PT-PZ) was fabricated by the columbite precursor method to obtain a stabilized perovskite structure and by conventional method to evaluate the efficiency of the former methd. Dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated and the stability of the perovskite phase was studied as a function of PZN and PT contents and firing temperature. In the samples prepared by the columbite precursor method, the pyrochlore phase, which is detrimental to both the dielectric and piezoelectric properties, was not observed in the absence of PZN, and electric properties were improved even when fabricated at low temperature. By adding PZN, some pyrochlore phase appeared and the morphotropic phase boundary of the samples shifted to more Zr-rich composition. The temperature dependence of piezoelectric constant decreased with the addition of PZN, due to the rising of the Curie point.
This study examined the extent of information needs regarding convenience store private brand (PB) foods and variables affecting information needs for convenience store PB foods. This study will be able to provide useful information based on determining the information content and information sources needed by undergraduate consumers for convenience store PB foods. Data analyses were conducted by frequency, mean (SD), reliability tests, and multiple regression with SPSS version 19.0. The major results of this study are as follows: First, undergraduate consumers' purchase intention toward convenience store PB foods is comparatively high, and they say they will buy the products if the PB foods' quality-related areas like taste, nutrition, or safety are favorable. Second, the general level of information needs for convenience store PB foods is comparatively high, and among general information needs, 'information needs for convenience store PB food quality' are the greatest, while in the area of comparative information needs, 'comparative information on PB food and NB food quality' is needed the most. In addition, undergraduate consumers most often want to obtain convenience store PB food information from convenience stores themselves. Third, as purchase intention and information acceptance of convenience store PB foods increase, information needs also increase. However, as quality perception of convenience store PB foods is more positive, information needs reduce.
This study was performed to investigate the influence of Chlorella which effected the change of Pb contents, enzyme activity and lipid compounds on the rats fed the beverage involved Pb and the different contented Chlorella added-diets for 18weeks. The rat's weight of 200ppm Pb group was decreased 6.04% and the cause of that was Pb intake. But the rat's weight of Chlorella added-diets +200ppm Pb group was increased 4.02% (p<0.01). When feeding the different(0%, 2%, 5%, 10% ) Chlorella added-diets with the Pb contented beverage to the rats, we could know that the Pb contents accumulated on tissue were decreased to 20.70(0%), 12.88(2%), 14.83 (5%) and 19.56(10%), compared with the quantity of Pb taken in. Total-cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose content and AST, ALT, ALP, LDH enzyme activity in serum were the highest on 200ppm Pb group and those were decreased by the order of different(2%∼5% >10%) Chlorella contents + 200ppmPb group. A significance was recognized on the level of 1%. Therefore, when rats were exposed to Pb, it was thought that the amount of Chlorella intake was adequate on content 2∼5% for reducing the lead toxicity.
Uptake and effects of treated Cd and Pb in rose moss and tomato were studied in pot cultures. Three horticulural plants on the roadside were tested to determine the contents of heavy metals in plant parts. Yields of rose moss were increased by the increase Pb concentrations in soil. Yields of rose moss by Cd treatment were decreased in 1, 000 ppm group, but increased in 500 ppm group. Portulaca grandiflora Hook. proved to be tolerent of Pb and Cd added in soil. Yields of tomato were decreased by an incrase of Pb concentration in soil, and tomato proved to be weak for Pb added in soil. Pb contents in root, stem, leaf, and flower and seed of rose moss were increased by an in crease of Pb concentration in soil Pb content in root was the highest among them. Pb content was the highest in root of tomato, but the lowest in the stem. Among the heavy metal contents metal contents of three horticultural plants collected by roadside, it was the Chrysanthemum which had the highest contents of heavy metal among them. The heavy metal contents in stem were less than in the other plnat parts in all three plants. The number of flowers in rose moss was decreased by an increase of Pb, and Cd concentration in soil, but in tomato it was increased by an increase of Pb concentration in soil. Amount of rose moss seeds which were collected after cultivation was decreased by Pb, and Cd treatment in soil.
PbTiO3 thin films were fabricated onto MgO(100) single crystal substrate by reactive D. C magnetron sput-tering of Pb and Ti metal in an oxygen and argon gas mixture. The annealing of the thin films resulted in the decrease of both the c-axis orientation ratio and the lattice parameter. It is well known that the c-axis lattice parameter of thin film is dependent on the Pb/(Pb+Ti)ratio and the residual stress in the film The PbTiO3 thin films with a Pb/(Pb+T) ratio ranging from 0.45 to 0.57 were fabricated and annealed. The structure of the film the c-axis orientation ratio and the lattice parameter were not dependent on the Pb/(Pb+Ti) ratio before and after annealing. These experimental results proved that the decrease of the c-axis lattice parameter under the annealing conditions was due to the relaxation of the intrinsic stress in the film. This relaxation of the intrinsic stress caused the decrease of the c-axis orientation ratio and this phenomenon can be explained by c-axis growth lattice model.
