아비투스 관점에서 바라본 폴 스미스와 패션에 나타난 특징 (Characteristics of Paul Smith and Fashion from the Perspective of Habitus)

  • This study examines the characteristics of Paul Smith's fashion from the viewpoint of Habitus. To this end, on the theory of Bourdieu's Habitus concept and theory of the field, we derive the attributes of fashion and fashion designers and Habitus that appeared in fashion from the viewpoint of Habitus. Based on this, the tendency of Paul Smith's Habitus tendency has been examined and how it is expressed in fashion design and store production has been investigated. The scope of the study is from 1977 to the present, and it covers Paul Smith's menswear and stores. Research methods are literature research and visual data analysis. The results of the study are as follows. The characteristics of Habitus' tendency in Paul Smith are childlike imagination and humor, vigorous curiosity and observation, paranoid collection and memos, and British tradition and craftsmanship. Paul Smith's Habitus propensity reflects the following features in fashion design and store direction. First, a unique mix of wit or list structure, second, respect for uniqueness and discrimination with respect for the local image, and third, the new male image was presented to contribute to the diversification of consumers, and fourth, sensitivity and emotion reflecting his Habitus propensity. It is a friendly space for communication. As a result of analyzing and applying to Paul Smith, it was found that the special Habitus characteristics possessed by designers in fashion are important and impart a great influence.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the design of Paul Smith based on characteristics of the Britishness. Britishness formed according to the national character to encompass the lifestyles and traits of individual people through a shared natural environment and historic experiences within the national boundaries of the U.K., amid current global trends toward gigantic single market. In every season, Paul Smith is presenting various authentic tailored suits, reflecting the empirical positivism, characterized by traditional conservatism through contemporary reinterpretation, characteristic individualism through a reproduction of the sub-culture, optimistic naturalism through fabric and printing on the basis of the Britishness. This study analyzed the characteristics of the Paul Smith brand distinguished through its unique highlights of strong symbolism of the well-balanced U.K., with very individualistic and innovative ideas presenting basic and methodical research of Britishness. Additionally, the results of this study are expected to facilitate in establishing the identity of the fashion brand and exploring its direction, and it will also provide a crucial basis to seek the methods to express the identity of Korean culture in this era of globalization, setting a new course for the fashion industry.

성(性)이미지 변화에 따른 폴 스미스 남성 재킷의 디자인 특성 (Characteristics in Paul Smith's Contemporary Men's Jacket Design According to the Change of Gender Image)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of Men's Jacket design in Paul Smith. According to the Change of Gender Image. Following study comprehends gender images and the concept of man's jacket through series of collected data and observes the influence that sociocultural background had upon men's wear. A standard of contemporary men's jacket, the subject of this study, is established based on the review of literature. According to this specific standard, photos of men's jacket were obtained from Paul Smith men collection and from these data the characteristics of men's jacket were analyzed. The method of this following study was to establish a standard of data collection from review of literature and to gather 721 photos of men's jacket from Paul Smith, which consistently appeared in first view korea for 28 seasons from 2001 s/s collection to 2014 f/w collection. Design characteristics of collected data were categorized by shape, color, fabric. This study brought forth following results. Paul Smith's jacket had more X-shape silhouette of feminine image. Color was mostly low chroma of RB series, so that masculine images could be pointed out. Compared to other brands, from 2004 to 2006, more jackets with natural pattern and abstract pattern were widely seen. In terms of fabric, feminine fabrics with glossy and flexible characteristics were used.

  • 섬유의 방향성이 무질서한 composites에 적용되는 Smith와 Cox의 이론(理論)을 포함한 Paul과 Jones의 혼합이론식(混合理論式)은 유황(硫黃) 화합물(化合物)을 사용하여 제조한 목재섬유 복합재(複合材)에도 일차적(一次的)인 liner regression constant가 주어질 때는 사용할 수가 있음을 보여준다. $E_c=\frac{1}{3}aE_fV_f+bE_mV_m$으로 표시된 이 liner regression from에 math. rom pack을 사용한 Hewlett Packard 75C(HP 75C) computer의 계산 결과는 목재 섬유 복합재(複合材)에 사용된 matrix의 종류, 섬유판의 밀도와 목재 밑 목질 섬유의 종류에 관계없이 a=3.27~3.54와 b=-2.47~-2.80의 일정한 범위의 값을 보여주므로, 지금까지 무(無)질서한 방향성을 지닌 장(長)섬유로 된 복합재(複合材)에만 적용되어 왔던 Paul과 Jones의 혼합이론(混合理論)과 이것과 같은 방향을 지닌 단(短) 섬유로 된 목재(木材)나 목질(木質) 섬유 composites에도 적용될 수 있음을 증명하고 있다.

  • Results from nonlinear time-history analyses of wall-frame structural models indicate that the condition of vulnerable foundations -for which uplifting and reaching the bearing capacity of the supporting soil can occur before yielding at the base of the shear walls- may not be necessarily detrimental to the drift response of buildings under strong ground motions. Analyses also show that a soil-foundation system can inherently have deformation capacity well in excess of the demand and thus act as a source of energy dissipation that protects the structural integrity of the shear walls.

현대 섬유패션브랜드에 나타난 매스티지 현상 (Masstige Phenomenon Appeared on Contemporary Textiles & Fashion Brand)

  • Masstige goods aimed consumers who want the fame and the emotional contents with reasonable price are presented overall and around the life style, from all the fashion items like bag and apparel to car, electric household, food, sports goods, furniture, toys, pets and performance of art, etc. Masstige casual, essentially different from the passed casuals which emphasized only price strategy, appeals to teenagers and young of twenties with a definite brand concept. Therefore masstige casual might be separated from business casual of a target aged thirties. Established celebrity brands have launched masstige brands matching the popularization of prestige goods. Armani Exchange from Armani, Marc by Marc Jacobs from Louis Vuitton are representative ones. DKNY from Donna Karen, MiuMiu from Prada, Paul smith Pink from Paul Smith can be added. These are relatively inexpensive, however the quality, design and shop's atmosphere are more exclusive than general brands. Consumers are over middle class and have a pride and fidelity to those brands. Leading Masstige trend, new luxury brands put the importance to the quality and aims middle class. To succeed in this field, companies should know exactly what consumers want, considering not only functional aspect but also emotional pleasure. Even though masstige has a weakness in pricing, it has to keep brand's proper benefit. Its price range could be wide to be in great demand but has to have elasticity and not to be expanded too much. Masstige industry should do its best not to damage original brand's identity. Forming family brand, like Armani made Georgic Armani, Emporio Armani and Armani exchange, system of parent brand and sub brands would be recommendable. From the launching time, masstige needs the effects to create a sensation and bring it into vogue and offer emotional value to the consumers.

  • The use of plastic substrates enables new applications, such as flexible display devices, and other flexible electronic devices, using low cost, rollto-roll (R2R) fabrication technologies. One of the limitations of polymeric substrate in these applications is that oxygen and moisture rapidly diffuse through the material and subsequently degrade the electro-optical devices. GE Global Research (GEGR) has developed a plastic substrate technology comprised of a superior high-heat polycarbonate (LEXAN(R)) substrate film and a unique transparent coating package that provides the ultrahigh barrier (UHB) to moisture and oxygen, chemical resistance to solvents used in device fabrications, and a high performance transparent conductor. This article describes the coating solutions for polycarbonate (LEXAN(R)) films and its compatibility with OLED device fabrication processes.

  • 전략적 비지니스 동맹의 형성은 많은 국가에 있어서 산업전반에 걸쳐 점차 유력한 전략적 목표가 되고 있다. 국내 전략적 동맹 모델을 국제 모델로 확장할 수 있는 가능성이 있다. 세계적인 전략적 비지니스 동맹은 세계적으로 불확실한 경쟁 상태의 환경하에서 안정확보와 위험요소를 줄일 수 있을 것이다. 국제적인 구매자와 판매자를 연결시킬 가능성이 있는 기술은 완전히 개발되어 있으나, 빠른 속도로 이용되지 못하고 있다. 국제 임산물 무역에 있어서 판매자와 구매자가 기술을 채택하는데 점점 복잡해짐에 따라 장래에 전략적 동맹은 계속해서 발전할 것이다.

한국의 건강한 영아를 대상으로 DTPa-IPV 혼합백신을 접종한 경우와 DTPa 백신과 IPV 백신을 각각 투여하였을 경우의 면역원성, 반응원성 및 안전성 (Immunogenicity, Reactogenicity and Safety of a Combined DTPa-IPV Vaccine Compared with Separate DTPa and IPV Vaccines in Healthy Korean Infants)

  • 목적 : 디프테리아, 파상풍, 백일해 및 불활화 폴리오 백신인 GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals의 $Infanrix^{TM}$-IPV(DTPa-IPV)를 접종시, 시판되고 있는 DTPa 백신과 IPV 백신을 각각 다른 부위에 동시 접종 했을 때(DTPa+IPV)와의 면역원성과 반응원성을 비교하기 위하여 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방법 : 생후 8-12주의 영아 458명을 무작위 배정하여, 각각 2, 4, 6개월에 DTPa-IPV 혹은 DTPa+IPV를 3회 기초접종 하였다. 면역반응을 확인하기 위하여 백신접종 전과 후에 채혈을 하였다. 반응원성은 각 백신 접종 후 작성된 증상기록카드를 통하여 평가하였다. 결과 : 3차 백신접종 한달 후에, 항-디프테리아, 항-파상풍 그리고 항-폴리오바이러스 type 1, 2, 3에 대한 혈청 방어율(seroprotection rate)은 ${\geq}99.5%$였고, 두군 모두 백일해 항원에 대한 백신 반응률(vaccine res-ponse rates)은 적어도 98.6% 이상이었다. 두 군간의 비 열등성은 사전 정의된 통계적 기준에 따라 보여주었다. 국소증상과 전신증상 발생률은 두 군 모두 비슷하게 보고되었고, grade 3의 증상이 DTPa-IPV 투여군에서 4.3%, DTPa+IPV 투여군에서는 4.5%로 보고되었다. 두 건의 중대한 이상반응(모두 발열)이 DTPa-IPV 투여 후에 보고되었고, 백신과의 연관성이 있는 것으로 간주되었다. 두 명의 영아는 모두 회복되었다. 결론 : DTPa-IPV 혼합백신은 한국의 소아들에게 기초접종으로 3회 투여시 충분한 면역반응을 보였고, 내약성이 우수했다. DTPa-IPV는 한국 예방접종 스케줄에 편입되어, 기초 접종을 완료하기 위한 접종 회수를 줄일 수 있다.
