  • In this paper, we review essential constituents of a dialogue interface system and propose practical methods to implement the each constituent. The implemented system consists of a discourse manager, an intention analyzer, a named entity recognizer, a SQL query generator, and a response generator. In the progress of implementation, the intention analyzer uses a maximum entropy model based on statistics because the domain dependency of the intention analyzer is comparatively low. The others use a simple pattern matching method because they needs high domain portability. In the experiments in a schedule arrangement domain, the implemented system showed the precision of 88.1% in intention analysis and the success rate of 83,4% in SQL query generation.

  • The procedure of the arbitration which is the tag collision is essential because the multiple tags response simultaneously in the same frequency to the request of the Reader. This procedure is known as Anti-collision and it is a key technology in the RFID system. In this paper, we propose the Bit Pattern Prediction Algorithm(BPPA) for the efficient identification of the multiple tags. The BPPA is based on the tree algorithm using the time slot and identify the tag quickly and efficiently using accurate bit pattern prediction method. Through mathematical performance analysis, We proved that the BPPA is an O(n) algorithm by analyzing the worst-case time complexity and the BPPA's performance is improved compared to existing algorithms. Through MATLAB simulation experiments, we verified that the BPPA require the average 1.2 times query per one tag identification and the BPPA ensure stable performance regardless of the number of the tags.

  • This paper proposes a rewriting algorithm of OWL-DL ontology query in SPARQL. Currently, to obtain inference results of given SPARQL queries, Web ontology repositories construct inference ontology models and match the SPARQL queries with the models. However, an inference model requires much larger space than its original base model, and reusability of the model is not available for other inferrable SPARQL queries. Therefore, the aforementioned approach is not suitable for large scale SPARQL query processing. To resolve tills issue, this paper proposes a novel SPARQL query rewriting algorithm that can obtain results by rewriting SPARQL queries and accomplishing query operations against the base ontology model. To achieve this goal, we first define OWL-DL inference rules and apply them on rewriting graph pattern in queries. The paper categorizes the inference rules and discusses on how these rules affect the query rewriting. To show the advantages of our proposal, a prototype system based on lena is implemented. For comparative evaluation, we conduct an experiment with a set of test queries and compare of our proposal with the previous approach. The evaluation result showed the proposed algorithm supports an improved performance in efficiency of the inferrable SPARQL query processing without loss of completeness and soundness.

  • In this method, we extract peak periods using energy contents of each segment of music. This feature extraction method is equally applied on both the training and query music. Similarity matching algorithm is applied on the extracted feature values for identifying the query music from the database. The retrieval accuracy of 95% of our method is a pretty good result.

  • Many researches proposed federated query engines to perform query on several homogeneous or heterogeneous datasets simultaneously that significantly improve the quality of query results. The existing techniques allow querying only over a few heterogeneous datasets considering the static binding using the non-standard query. However, we observe that a simultaneous system considering the integration of heterogeneous metadata standards can offer better opportunity to generalize the query over any homogeneous and heterogeneous datasets. In this paper, we propose a transparent federated engine (DRAZ) to query over multiple data sources using SPARQL. In our system, we first develop the ontology for a non-RDF metadata standard based on the metadata kernel dictionary elements, which are standardized by the metadata provider. For a given SPARQL query, we translate any triple pattern into an API call to access the dataset of corresponding non-RDF metadata standard. We convert the results of every API call to N-triples and summarize the final results considering all triple patterns. We evaluated our proposed DRAZ using modified Fedbench benchmark queries over heterogeneous metadata standards, such as DCAT and DOI. We observed that DRAZ can achieve 70 to 100 percent correctness of the results despite the unavailability of the JOIN operations.

  • This paper proposes a novel anti-collision protocol for large-scale RFID tags identification, named Bi-response Collision Tree Protocol (BCT). In BCT, two group of tags answer the reader's same query in two response-cycles respectively and independently according to the bi-response pattern. BCT improves the RFID tag identification performance significantly by decreasing the query cycles and the bits transmitted by the reader and tags during the identification. Computation and simulation results indicate that BCT improves the RFID tag identification performance effectively, e.g. the tag identification speed is improved more than 13.0%, 16.9%, and 22.9% compared to that of Collision Tree Protocol (CT), M-ary Collision Tree Protocol (MCT), and Dual Prefix Probe Scheme (DPPS) respectively when tags IDs are distributed uniformly.

  • World Wide Web (WWW) use has been increasing recently due to users needing more information. Lately, there has been a growing trend in the document information available to end users through the internet. The web's document search process is essential to find relevant documents for user queries. As the number of general web pages increases, it becomes increasingly challenging for users to find records that are appropriate to their interests. However, using existing Document Information Retrieval (DIR) approaches is time-consuming for large document collections. To alleviate the problem, this novel presents Spatial Clustering Ranking Pattern (SCRP) based Density Ant Colony Information Retrieval (DACIR) for user queries based DIR. The proposed first stage is the Term Frequency Weight (TFW) technique to identify the query weightage-based frequency. Based on the weight score, they are grouped and ranked using the proposed Spatial Clustering Ranking Pattern (SCRP) technique. Finally, based on ranking, select the most relevant information retrieves the document using DACIR algorithm. The proposed method outperforms traditional information retrieval methods regarding the quality of returned objects while performing significantly better in run time.

  • In this paper, we propose tree-based hybrid query tree architecture utilizing time slot. 4-Bit Pattern Slot Allocation(4-SL) has a 8-ary tree structure and when tag ID responses according to query of the reader, it applies a digital coding method, the Manchester code, in order to extract the location and the number of collided bits. Also, this algorithm can recognize multiple Tags by single query using 4 fixed time slots. The architecture allows the reader to identify 8 tags at the same time by responding 4 time slots utilizing the first bit($[prefix+1]^{th}$, F ${\in}$ {'0' or '1'}) and bit pattern from second ~ third bits($[prefix+2]^{th}{\sim}[prefix+3]^{th}$, $B_2{\in}$ {"00" or "11"}, $B_1{\in}$ {"01" or "10"}) in tag ID. we analyze worst case of the number of query nodes(prefix) in algorithm to extract delay time for recognizing multiple tags. The identification delay time of the proposed algorithm was based on the number of query-responses and query bits, and was calculated by each algorithm.

  • The mediator-based system integrates heterogeneous information systems with the flexible manner. But it does not give much attention on the query optimization issues, especially for the query reusing. The other thing is that it does not use standardized metadata for schema matching. To improve this two issues, we propose mediator-based Distributed Information Integration System (DIIS) which uses query caching regarding performance and uses ISO/IEC 11179 metadata registry in terms of standardization. The DIIS is designed to provide decision-making support, which logically integrates the distributed heterogeneous business information systems based on the Web environment. We designed the system in the aspect of three-layer expression formula architecture using the layered pattern to improve the system reusability and to facilitate the system maintenance. The functionality and flow of core components of three-layer architecture are expressed in terms of process line diagrams and assembly line diagrams of Eriksson Penker Extension Model (EPEM), a methodology of an extension of UML. For the implementation, Supply Chain Management (SCM) domain is used. And we used the Web-based environment for user interface. The DIIS supports functions of query caching and query reusability through Query Function Manager (QFM) and Query Function Repository (QFR) such that it enhances the query processing speed and query reusability by caching the frequently used queries and optimizing the query cost. The DIIS solves the diverse heterogeneity problems by mapping MetaData Registry (MDR) based on ISO/IEC 11179 and Schema Repository (SCR).
