In this study, we observed the characteristics of students' small group discussions concerning the four friction problems. Participants in this study were 22 students of upper-level mechanics course and their small group discussions have been transcribed. As a result, we found that the phenomenon in this study is well defined by 'common context.' The process of formation of the common context was explicitly observed when students discussed about the identification of the problem situation (especially the movement of A in the second problem), the nature of friction and various forces, inertial frame, and noninertial reference frame. Meanwhile, the formation of common context was tacit when students thought they already had a common context. For example, students did not discuss about the friction rule itself because they had confidence about the knowledge. We also found that the presence of the questioner, receiver, and the other opinion were important for positive group discussions. The result of this study would be meaningful because it analyzed how the theme affects the group discussion beyond the limit of previous studies of just analyzing the form or pattern of discourse.

Physicochemical characteristics of pigment separated from cockle shell were studied. Pigment on the cockle shell was peeled with distilled water, and soaked in 4% TCA solution for 30 minutes and filtered. Filtrate was washed 3 times with distilled water and Iyophilized. Dried pigment was dissolved with 2N NaOH solution and preparative TLC with 2N NaOH : acetone(1 : 1). UV/vis spectrum of pigment separated from cockle shell and melanin as standard was same one peak at UV area and λ$_{max}$was 226nm. Dissolved property of pigment was same as that of melanin. Pigment was not ommochrome but like melanin, because it was insoluble in formic acid, whitening in $H_2O_2, $ and pattern of UV-spectrum was same as melanin. Pigment separated from cockle shell was stable at high temperatures. In thermal treatment at $70^{\circ}C, $$80^{\circ}C, $$90^{\circ}C$ and $100^{\circ}C$ for 8 hours, retention ratio of pigment separated from cockle shell were 95.0%, 93.3%, 90.8% and 87.6%, respectively.
This study was designed to assess the body fat distribution, and also to investigate the effects of body fat on glucose tolerance and on insulin secretion pattern by body mass index in offspring of parents with NIDDM. The subjects consisted of twenty parents with NIDDM who had been admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine or had been seen in the outpatient clinic at Kangnam St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic University between February to March, 1995. Twenty offspring were randomly selected from forty six offspring of twenty parents with NIDDM. As a control group, twenty healthy people without a family history of diabetes mellitus were matched by sex, age and body mass index(BMI). The results are as follows : 1. Mean fasting serum glucose and insulin levels and insulin / glucose ratio were significantly greater in offspring than in the control subjects with BMI 25kg /㎡ in the offspring and in the BMI<25kg /㎡ control subjects (P<0.05). 2. The total glucose area and insulin area were significantly greater in both the offsping and the control subjects with BMI≥25kg /㎡ than in both the offspring and the control subjects with BMI<25 kg /㎡(P<0.05). 3. Upper body skinfold thickness, Waist hip ratio(WHR), serum levels of total cholesterol and triglyceride(TG), total dietary calorie intake and protein intake in both the offspring and the control subjects with BMI≥25kg /㎡ were greater than those with BMI<25kg /㎡(P<0.05). On the other hand, HDL-cholesterol in both the offspring and the control subjects with BMI≥25kg /㎡ was lower than those with BMI< 25kg /㎡(P<0.05). 4. The major variables influencing the total glucose area were subscapular skinfold thickness and WHR and the major variables influencing the total insulin area were suprailiac skinfold thickness, WHR, TG and free fatty acid. In the light of the results, glucose intolerance and insulin resistance were affected by body mass index, Upper body fat, WHR and lipids(TG, Free fatty acid), it is implied that these are influencing factors on total glucose area and total insulin area. The identification of these factors might provide a useful tool to identify individuals at high risk of diabetes mellitus. Therefore, various nursing intervention programs to reduce obesity could be given to both the offspring of parents with NIDDM and to the obese healthy controls before diabetes mellitus develops.
Korean government sets up a goal that jumps up to the third ranked powerful nation of offshore wind in the world until 2020 and announced "The plan for 2.5-gigawatt wind farm off the south-west coast by 2019". Such above, according to green energy policy, offshore wind farms(OWF) will be increased continuously. The development of OWF should be taken account of wind volume as well as marine traffic environment. Specially aids to navigation of OWF play a significant role in preventing collision between vessels navigating near waters and structures. For purpose of distinguishing OWF, IALA recommendations define installation of lights on SPS and IPS. However, there is no mention of light character that plays important role in identification of lights as marking offshore wind farm. Also the research on selection of proper light character has been insufficient state. Therefore in this paper, we analyzed internal and external regulations concerned marking with light on SPS and IPS in OWF. And suggested patterns and rhythms of light having not only easily recognized feature but also no confusion with other light of aids to navigation. The proposed light characters were verified by simulation, and the results were analysed that synchronism flickering of "Fl Y(4) 12s(SPS)" and "Fl Y 6s(IPS)" would be useful in combination of both lights.
Objective: This study was designed to analyze the treatment effects of Chungsangboha-tang through retrospective chart reviews. Methods: Fifty-one outpatients who had visited the Allergy, Immune & Respiratory System Division at the Kyung Hee Korean Medicine Hospital and who had taken Chungsangboha-tang from February 1, 2006, to February 1, 2016, had their basic medical records and examinationsretrospectively reviewed with respect to IgE, eosinophil, AST, and ALT. The PFT results of 11 patients were also investigated with respect to FEV1, FVC, and FEV1/FVC.Results: The percentage of males and females was 49.02% and 50.98%, respectively. The past histories of patients included asthma (66.67%), unspecified cough (21.57%), COPD (9.80%), allergic rhinitis (7.84%), and others. The subjective symptoms included cough (82.35%), sputum (39.22%), dyspnea (37.25%), and others. The most numerous pattern identification was wheezing dyspnea. IgE was significantly reduced, and eosinophil had a reduced tendency after 116.76±160.40 days of taking Chungsangboha-tang. PFT results also significantly increased after 213.09±266.62 days, while AST and ALT results showed a reduced tendency. In the asthmatic group, IgE also showed a reduced tendency. In particular, IgE was significantly reduced in patient groups taking medicine for more than 12 weeks. Conclusions: The conditions of patients with chronic pulmonary disease such as asthma and COPD significantly improved with Chungsangboha-tang after more than 12 weeks.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the characteristics of Hwa-Byung(HB) patients, draw the clinical key issue of HB, and provide the data as the basis for development of Clinical Guideline of HB. Methods : The study participants included 151 subjects who thought they have HB in 9 site. For all patients, we used HB epidemiologic study protocol, which include the Korean version of the Structured Clinical Interview for the DSM-IV Diagnosis (SCID-1), diagnostic criteria of HB, symptoms check list, pattern identification tool, psychiastric psychological questionaires, and Framingham coronary risk score(FRS). Results : 1. For all participants, 62 % of subjects were diagnosed with HB. These patients had comorbid DSM-IV diagnoses with depression (65%) and anxiety (27%). But 22% of these patients had only HB. 2. HB patients had various physical symptoms when visiting, were diagnosed as various disease, and undergone medical treatments in the past. Among the diagonsed illness, Gastronitestinal diseases (51.6%), psychiatric disorders(40.9%), endocrine diseases(39.8%) were being the most frequent. The frequent physical symptoms of HB patients reported were chest discomfort, head ache, pallpitation, frequent sigh, amnesia, shoulder pain, dry mouth, eye fatigue etc. 3. HB patients had high scores in psychologic questionares, CES-D, STAI, and STAXI. It means that HB patients might be low-level emotional stability. 4. Participant had negative opinion about the treatment of HB that it would be difficult or impossible (65.7%), but they neglect the need of medical treatment. Conclusions : This result shows that HB is comorbid with various psychiatric disease, but it has different physio-psychological symptoms from others and there were only HB patients. so we identify HB is independent disease. Moreover, there were the wrong perception of HB which blocking treatments. These problems support that the neccesity of development of Clinical Guideline of HB.
Nonylphenol (NP), an well known aquatic contaminant, has been known to induce abnormalities in various aquatic animals. In an effort to develop proteome in the study of aquatic contamination of NP and its impact on the amphibia, protein changes in liver tissues of Korean red bellied frog, Bombina orientalis was investigated following the NP exposure. NP was administered intraperitoneally to male B. orientalis at 10 mg/kg body weight. At 48 and 96h after the treatment, the frog livers were sampled, and the protein fraction was separated using two dimensional gel electrophoresis (2D/E) and visualized with Coomassie brilluant blue staining. The 2D/E Images of the tissue from the animals treated with NP showed marked changes of protein spots (about 20% of total protein spots). Analysis of the 50-60 separated spots allowed identification of the major protein changes in the overall pattern for the stressor (NP) by time (0,48 and 96 h). At 48h after treatment, 8 spots were increased and 12 spots were reduced. Then, at 96h after treatment, 10 spots were increased and 8 spots were reduced. In total, approximately 29% of liver proteins showed the altered expression following the NP treatment. It is suggested that protein expression was repressed by blocking of certain metabolisms at 48 hand induced by the synthesis of new proteins for adaptation at 96 h following NP exposure. This application for 2D/E analysis may show promise in searching biomarkers for environmental proteomics in amphibians.
Organic carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios of particulate organic matter (POM) were determined at 7 stations (6 stations in Han river and Paldang dam outflow station) from May to October 2013, in order to understand the origin of POM at the Han river. ${\delta}^{13}C$ values of POM in four stations showed significant seasonal changes season, but ${\delta}^{15}N$ values were enriched in around Kyeongan stream (K). POC, PN and Chl-a concentration showed a similar seasonal pattern in Kyeongan stream, with an apparent decrease from July to August. POC and PN concentration has a higher correlation with Chl-a concentration in Kyeongan stream (K). ${\delta}^{13}C$ and ${\delta}^{15}N$ values of POM has a lighter value during lower Chl-a concentration peroid, compared to other seasons. Our results revealed that Kyeongan stream (K) seemed to be influenced by substantial amount of organic manure or fertilizer input in 2013, compared to the previous year (2012). These results suggest that the analysis of stable isotope ratios is a simple but useful tool for the identification of organic matter origin in aquatic environments.

Digital watermarking is the technique that embeds invisible signalsincluding owner identification information, specific code, or pattern into multimedia data such as image, video and audio. Watermarking techniques can be classified into two groups; robust watermarking and fragile(semi-fragile) watermarking. The main purpose of the robust watermarking is the protection of copyright, whereas fragile(semi-fragile) watermarking prevents image or video data from illegal modifications. To achieve this goal watermark should survive from unintentional modifications such as random noise or compression, but it should be fragile for malicious manipulations. In this paper, an invertible semi-fragile watermarkingalgorithm for authentication and detection of manipulated location in MPEG-2 bit-stream is proposed. The proposed algorithm embeds two kinds of watermarks, which are embedded into quantized DCT coefficients. So it can be applied directly to the compressed bit-stream. The first watermark is used for authentication of video data. The second one is used for detection of malicious manipulations. It can distinguish transcodingin bit-stream domain from malicious manipulation and detect the block-wise locations of manipulations in video data. Also, since the proposed algorithm has an invertible property, recovering original video data is possible if the watermarked video is authentic.

In this paper, we proposed fast and efficient algorithm for detecting near-duplication based on content based retrieval in large scale video database. For handling large amounts of video easily, we split the video into small segment using scene change detection. In case of video services and copyright related business models, it is need to technology that detect near-duplicates, that longer matched video than to search video containing short part or a frame of original. To detect near-duplicate video, we proposed motion distribution and frame descriptor in a video segment. The motion distribution descriptor is constructed by obtaining motion vector from macro blocks during the video decoding process. When matching between descriptors, we use the motion distribution descriptor as filtering to improving matching speed. However, motion distribution has low discriminability. To improve discrimination, we decide to identification using frame descriptor extracted from selected representative frames within a scene segmentation. The proposed algorithm shows high success rate and low false alarm rate. In addition, the matching speed of this descriptor is very fast, we confirm this algorithm can be useful to practical application.
