The survey for this paper is constituted by 34 questions of 4 groups related to firm performance, qualification requirement, general fact and a certificate of qualification. The survey was carried out from September 12th, 2008 to September 24th 2008 and 388 question sheets collected finally and used for result analysis. In the result analyses related to hospital coordinator and firm performance, we found some principal outcomes such that 88.6% of respondents approved that hospital image by patients and customers is raised, 87.7% of respondents approved that degree of patient's satisfaction on hospital services is raised, and 81.5% of respondents approved that employees recognized importance of services on customers, by hospital coordinators. In the result analysis on differences in firm performance by presence of a certificate of qualification for hospital coordinator, there were meaningful differences in degree of patient's satisfaction, financial performance and degree of employee's recognition on importance of services. From the all of the above results, we verified that establishment and improvement of educational process for hospital coordinator should be performed through researches on degree of patient's and costumer's satisfaction for hospital coordinator, degree of hospital coordinator's satisfaction for the job and surveys of requirements from related industry.
This study is a descriptive research study to identify the relevance of the occupational stress, safety control, and patient safety-related nursing activities of the nurses working in comprehensive nursing care service ward, and to check the effect of the occupational stress on safety control and patient safety-related nursing activities. From March 11 to April 17, 2019, 137 nurses who worked in comprehensive nursing care service ward at four general hospitals were studied. The results of this study suggest that occupational stress has a negative correlation with safety control and patient safety-related nursing activities, and occupational stress negatively affects safety control and patient safety-related nursing activities. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that the work environment will be improved to reduce the occupational stress in order to promote the safety control and patient safety-related nursing activities of nurses in comprehensive nursing care service ward, and the development of various programs for occupational stress management will be necessary.
Purposes: This study purposed to analyze the relationship between patient safety and patient-centerendess. Methodology: The comprehensive scores from patient safety assessment program and patient experience survey conducted by Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service were used as independent variables and dependent variables. This study analyzed the relationship between 4 patient safety-related areas(i.e. risk standardized readmission ratio, intensive care unit, preventive antibiotic, the drug evaluation) and 6 patient experience areas(i.e. nurse services, doctor services, medication & treatment, hospital environment, patient's right, overall experience) by using robust regression analysis. Findings: According to results, the score in 'patient's right' and 'risk standardized readmission ratio' areas were found to have a significant relationship, and 'overall experience' and the 'preventive antibiotic' areas. The ratio of senior beds and specialists was a general characteristics of hospitals that had a significant relationship on patient experience assessment. Practical Implication: The relationships between patient safety and patient experience assessment were varied depending on areas. Further study is needed to make clear the supposed relationship.
Background : It is increasing the concern for patient satisfaction as a customer information. This study was planned to investigate the activities related to patient satisfaction survey at the Korean hospitals. Methods : We performed the nationwide survey on 235 general hospitals by using the self-administrated checklist from Sep. 9 to Oct. 9, 1996. The response rate were 50.2%. We analyzed the descriptive statistics and chi-square test by SAS software on 118 hospitals. Results : First of all, 62.7% of study hospitals showed to conduct the patient satisfaction survey, and most of hospitals which did not conduct it had a plan to do it within 5 years. The reason that hospitals did not conduct satisfaction survey was due to a lack of administrator's interest or adequate questionnaire form. Second, the bigger, public and being more located in the big city or opened more than 10 years, the more hospitals conducted the patient satisfaction survey. Also, patient satisfaction survey was mainly handled by planning dept. or administrative team. Third, most hospitals had their own way of making questionnaires without proving reliability and validity. The results of the survey were applied to hospital management timely, and were mostly reported to top manager level. Most CEO concerned about the results of satisfaction survey. Fourth, the staffs in charge of survey had problems such as skill related to data analysis and development of questionnaire and they suggested that this problems could be solved through inducing the implementation of the survey results on hospital management, support for the development of standardized questionnaires and increasing the top manager's interests. Fifth, most questionnaires composed of lots of questioning items on hospital equipments and environment, and kindness of hospital employee to patients. Conclusions : Although this study had some limitations in generalization due to low response rate in big hospitals, it is meaningful to find the present state and the problems related to patient satisfaction survey of the general hospitals. We can conclude that there are increasing the concern for patient satisfaction survey among the hospitals nationwide, and it can be needed for technical support related to development of survey tool or method.

Background: Spinal pain is most common symptom in pain clinic. In most cases, before the treatment of spinal pain, physician explains the patient's disease and treatment. We investigated patient's satisfaction and physician's explanation related to treatments in spinal pain patients by questionnaires. Methods: Anonymous questionnaires about physician's explanation and patient's satisfaction in each treatment and post-treatment management were asked to individuals suffering from spinal pain. Patients who have spinal pain were participated in our survey of nationwide university hospitals in Korea. The relationships between patient's satisfaction and other factors were analyzed. Results: Between June 2016 and August 2016, 1007 patients in 37 university hospitals completed the questionnaire. In the statistical analysis, patient's satisfaction of treatment increased when pain severity was low or received sufficient preceding explanation about nerve block and medication (P < 0.01). Sufficient explanation increased patient's necessity of a post-treatment management and patients' performance rate of post-treatment management (P < 0.01). Conclusions: These results show that sufficient explanation increased patients' satisfaction after nerve block and medication. Sufficient explanation also increased the practice of patients' post-treatment management.

Objectives: The nutritional status of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy is closely related to the compliance of nutrition education. However, as chemotherapy is conducted repeatedly, compliance with nutrition management is lowered, leading to malnutrition. Malnutrition is related directly to the quality of life after surgery in cancer patients. Therefore, this study examined the factors related to compliance with nutrition management during chemotherapy. Methods: In this study, five subjects with colorectal cancer undergoing adjuvant chemotherapy were interviewed in-depth using the Giorgi study method. The contents of the nutrition education visits and in-depth interviews were transcribed in the language of the subject after recording, and the appropriateness of the data was improved by reflecting the subject's actions and facial expressions. Results: After conducting the in-depth interviews for each subject, the experience of the subject's diet and adjuvant chemotherapy was drawn into two domains, six elements, and 26 sub-elements. In the cognitive domain, the patients experienced physical and psychological changes, and the need for nutrition management was recognized by analyzing the dietary causes of the diseases. In the domain of practice, a knowing-doing gap was formed, unlike the patient's will. Factors that inhibited compliance with nutritional management included digestive problems, sensory changes, loss of appetite, and social interaction stress. Conclusions: Dietary management is very important for patients receiving periodic anticancer therapy, and step-by-step training and personal monitoring based on the chemotherapy order is necessary to maintain the patient's will and social and environmental support.
