In the current digital age, most of the countries in the world recognize the electronic business to be a very prospective area in the future and plan to activate for the preoccupation of the business. As a result, this led a rapid increase of the electronic business volume. Electronic business takes place in the cyber space, using internet. However, the intellectual property rights have a high degree of possibility of being infringed as the digitalized intellectual property is easy to receive, copy and transmit in the cyber space. The language structure on the web, represented by HTML, makes easier to copy the intellectual property. And, as the internet has no national boundary, the infringement of the intellectual property rights is easier regardless of country, which could lead to the commercial disputes between the concerned countries. There are in fact many legal disputes nowadays on the infringement of the intellectual property rights in such field as computer programming, infringement of the copyright, business model patent and infringement of the trademark right on the registered name of the domain. It is, therefore, time now to prepare a new theory or legal system to protect the intellectual property rights on copyright, patent and trademark right so as to comply with the digital environment together with such a splendid growth of "electronic business." USA and Germany are nowadays making a significant movement on the legislation of the electronic business, and this study will focus on the legislative contents, judicial precedents and interpretation of law in the above countries.

Recently, there are some outdoor floor advertising lighting devices as one of the active marketing methods. However, for outdoor use, there are many restrictions due to the Outdoor Advertisement Act, according to requiring high-output heat generation, waterproofing, and AC power, etc. The purpose of this study is to develop a Duo Light product optimized for indoor use through publicity and information guidance in normal times and automatic evacuation route guidance display in case of disaster, in conjunction with disaster safety. To that end, patent search and patent association analyses were conducted, and a comparative analysis with commercial products was conducted as a case study. In addition, prototypes were designed and produced through the review of operation principles, where field environment surveys and self-tests were conducted. Also, technology roadmaps were presented by preparing plans for expandability and advancement of products. For the analysis of technology commercialization, the feasibility of technology commercialization was examined through the analysis of Jolly's Model and Lean Canvas Model. The results of this study will be able to contribute to minimize human damage through the effective response to disasters, which can increase the effect of indoor advertising by using the proposed indoor floor advertising lighting device in advertising and disaster situations.

This paper analyzes the technological competitiveness of aircraft-based industries that are the basis for the development of aircraft industry in Korea. By performing expert interviews with industry specialists in the field of aircraft technology, the paper categorizes eight fields that are fundamental to the development of the aircraft industry. By analyzing patents of G7 countries and Korea made in the US from 1995 to 2006 we were able to identify the technological specificities and competencies of each country. RTA (Revealed Technology Advantage) index and CII (Current Impact Index) are used to examine the technological specificity and technological competence respectively. Finally, by introducing the TCI (Technological Competitiveness Index) the paper is able to consider both the quantitative level and the qualitative level of patents for each field in the aircraft industry. By analyzing the TCI, the paper concludes that Korea has high technological prowess centered around IT industries such as semi-conductors/ electronics component, communication appliances and consumer electronics. Also Korea is relatively competitive in the precision instruments industry.

For the last several decades, it has been recognized that technology is a key factor in becoming an ADC and an advanced firm. So many countries and individual firms have been increasing investments on technology development. Especially LDCs including Korea choose technology transfer and transaction as an important alternative of their own technology development. To activate technology transaction and transfer, it is necessary to establish an technology transaction system, namely a Technomart that will make good connections between technology suppliers and technology buyers, and efficient functional linkages of supporting infrastructures including organizations and laws related with technology transactions. Therefore this study reviewed both the characteristics of technology transfer and transaction and a conceptual structure of a Technomart through a literature review. And then, the study analyzed the Technomart related laws including an intellectual property right, a copyright, a patent right, and electric transaction related laws. In conclusion the study proposed the development directions of the Technomart related laws.

Such osmotic drug delivery systems are based on osmosis, the diffusion of water transversely from a medium with a low osmotic pressure to a medium with a high osmotic pressure for the controlled delivery of active agents. In this review, U.S. Patents on osmotic drug delivery analyze 261 patents until December 2001. These devices form now a major market of drug delivery products. Because of their advantage and innovate idea, it appears that the future of oral drug delivery mark,εt in Korea is promising.

The number of environment-related technologies has increased remarkably over the past two decades, as has the public's interest in effective resource use and ways to reduce the effects of global warming. Industries that are based on environment-related technologies are thus growing rapidly. Previous studies revealed that externalities derived from the population concentration in urban areas positively affect agglomerations of high-tech industries. Such externalities have been named the "knowledge spillover effect". The purposes of the present paper are to (1) give a thumbnail sketch of the locations of environment-related industries around the world, using the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development environment-related patent statistics, and (2) explicate the effects of the Marshall-Arrow-Romer (MAR) and Jacobs externalities, which result from population concentrations in urban areas, on the agglomeration of environment-related industries in Sweden. The analysis revealed that environment-related industries are located chiefly in urban areas across the globe, and that only the MAR externalities influenced positively on the agglomeration of these industries in Sweden.

Seaweeds contain various bioactive compounds. Especially, brown algae (Phaeophyceae), the second abundant group of seaweeds, contain numerous nutraceutical and pharmaceutical substances. In this review, we investigated on the brown algae-related patents and literature. Consequently, the research and development (R&D) trends of patent related to brown algae showed that the large majority was applied as the composition of stem cell culture medium and mostly used as active substances. In conclusion, we suggested that many researchers try to investigate and develop applications of brown algae as the sophisticated-level biomedical materials because brown algae are actively developing as simple-level biomedical materials.

Amid the growing importance and urgency of smartening in the Korean maritime logistics industry, this study conducted a survey on the status of Korea's maritime trade technology. Korea is on par with developed countries internationally, but in order to lead the digitalization of the future era, additional developments should be explored by reviewing current conditions. In particular, it is necessary to draw policy implications for smart shipping in Korea, which is a three-sided sea. This study derived technical implications by comparing the number of patent applications and the applicant for domestic and foreign patents related to the major technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In addition, it was intended to investigate and present the status of Korea's maritime trade technology through the analysis of smart shipping-related emotions and the analysis of positive and negative scores of companies related to sentiment analysis.

We introduce various methods to investigate the relations between innovation of technology and social changes by analyzing more than 4 millions of patents registered at United States Patent and Trademark Office(USPTO) from year 1985 to 2015. First, we review the history of patent law and its relation with the quantitative changes of registered patents. Second, we investigate the differences of technical innovations of several countries by use of cluster analysis based on the numbers of registered patents at several technical sectors. Third, we introduce the PageRank algorithm to define important nodes in network type data and apply the PageRank algorithm to find important technical sectors based on citation information between registered patents. Finally, we explain how to use the canonical correlation analysis to study relationship between technical innovation and social changes.
