GPS용 역 L형 기생소자를 이용한 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계 (A Design of Dual-band Microstrip Antennas using Stacked Inverted-L-shaped Parasitic Elements for GPS Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 GPS $L_1(1.575GHz)$$L_2(1.227GHz)$ 대역을 수용할 수 있는 새로운 형태의 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계 및 제작하였다. 주파수대역 간격이 큰 이중대역 특성을 확보하기 위해 제안된 안테나는 반 파장($L_2$ 대역) 패치 안테나의 윗면에 ${\lambda}/4$($L_1$ 대역)크기의 역 L형 기생소자들을 방사 개구면 양측에 적층하였다. 패치 소자와 기생소자들 간의 커플링을 통하여 공진시킴으로써 선형편파 이중대역 특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 다음으로 GPS의 경우 원형편파를 사용하기 때문에 패치 상에 ${\lambda}/4$($L_1$ 대역) 역 L형 기생소자를 서로 직각으로 시퀀셜 로테이션 기법을 이용하여 적층 시키고, 안테나의 한쪽 대각선 양 끝을 절개하여 원형편파 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계하였다. 이렇게 설계된 원형편파 안테나의 크기는 $0.43{\lambda}L{\times}0.43{\lambda}L{\times}0.06{\lambda}L$ (여기에서 ${\lambda}L$은 1.227 GHz의 공기 중 한 파장)로 2중 구조 자세를 유지시켰다. -10 dB 대역폭은 GPS $L_1$대역에서 120 MHz(7.6%), GPS $L_2$대역 82.5 MHz(6.7%)로 측정되었으며, 3 dB 축비 대역폭은 172 MHz(10.9%)와 25MHz(2.03%)로 각각 측정되어, 모두 GPS $L_1$$L_2$ 대역의 요구대역폭(각각 24 MHz)을 만족한다. 한편 방사 패턴은 모든 주파수에서 마이크로스트립 안테나와 같은 브로드 사이드 패턴 형태를 형성하였다.

도시공원 경관 연결성 및 구조에 따른 조류 종다양성 분석 (Analysis of Bird Diversity According to Landscape Connectivity and Structure of Urban Park)

  • The function of urban parks as wildlife habitats is becoming increasingly important. The urban park serves as a key area for preserving urban biodiversity. The purpose of this study is to estimate the bird species diversity in 30 parks in Cheonan city and quantitatively analyze the influence of vegetation, park structure and landscape connectivity index. As the results, a total of 27 birds species and 1,509 individuals were found at the sites and the largest number of birds were found in the Cheongsa park with 17 species. The optimal regression model was selected as the explanatory variables for the logged park area (LPA), the tree cover ratio (Co_T) and the patch betweenness centrality (PB). LPA and Co_T mean the internal characteristics of the park, and PB was the external environmental variable meaning landscape connectivity. LPA was the most important factor (73.3%) as bird habitat, and the PB could be interpreted as a factor that should be considered as important (26.7%). It will be possible to consider these environmental variables in the park and green area construction and management.

지속가능한 유역관리를 위한 자연지역의 시공간적 특성 분석 -일본 아라가와 유역을 대상으로- (Spatio-Temporal Analysis of Natural Area for Sustainable Watershed Management in the Ara River Basin, Japan)

  • As a frontier of Sustainable Basin Research Initiative, we commenced a scenario-driven planning and evaluation research project which is to identify the strategic policy scenarios. As a part of the project, this study attempts to estimate the ecological impacts of land cover changes using landscape indices at the whole basin level. We analyzed spatio-temporal characteristics of natural area including forest, agricultural land, water area, barren which play an important role in nature-friendly sustainable watershed management. The results of analysis shelved that the size and diversity of natural area have been reduced, while patch number and isolation have been increased in proportion to urbanization in 1974, 1995 and four future scenarios in the Ara River Basin. Also, we estimated that the natural area could be conserved to some degree in the SD or DE scenarios with a concept of environment-friendly development and lifestyle. Various strategic environment policies may be evaluated and designed on the basis of the method, that is, scenario approach and landscape ecological analysis suggested in this study.

패션 브랜드의 아이덴티티 디자인을 위한 일러스트레이션의 활용 방안 연구 (A Study on the Utilization of Illustration for the Identity Design in Fashion Brand)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the examples of using illustration as a strategic factor of composing brand cultures and as a factor for brand identity design. Through analyzing the external characteristics and the internal characteristics of illustration, this study will give suggestions on ways to apply the examples to real design. Illustration in external characteristics is investigated as a case of applying it directly to fashion design and to fashion marketing. Most of the fashion items were printed or weaved and most of the bags, shoes, and accessories were printed on the cover, attached as a patch, and expressed three-dimensionally. Illustration in internal characteristics is investigated as fixing and expansion of brand image, improving artistic and emotional value of brand, vitalization of masstige items, and cultural support and expression of social responsibility. The three themes used to develop the illustrations of "Hello ZIBI", which was used in this study, were "Graphic", "Forest" and "Flower", and these were based on modified brand symbol. Casual brands grafted fashion item designs onto T-shirts, bags, hats, and scarves. Marketing items were designed as shopping bags that could reflect brand image, as well as other items, such as key holders, mug cups, and tumblers, with designs that targeted specific age groups.

Design and Manufacture of LTE3G / WLAN/ LTE4G Tri-band Antenna System for Mobile Communication Applications

  • In this paper, we propose the method to improve the performance of the antenna system that contains three bands, such as Lte3G, WLAN and Lte4G. This antenna has an advantage that can cover the three different frequency bands 2.1GHz, 2.4GHz and 2.6GHz through one antenna design. The design and simulations are done using CST Microwave Studio 2014 program. The antenna is designed by using the FR-4 (lossy) substrate with the dielectric constant of er=4.3 and dielectric loss tangent 0.025. The substrate dimensions are the following; Thickness[h] is 1.6mm, Length is 90mm, and Width is 40mm. The ground is designed by using the PEC material with h=0.035mm. The patch is designed by using the copper with h=0.035mm. In the near future, we will fabricate the antenna, which we have designed, and then apply this antenna to the mobile communication system. And we will test this mobile communication system for the diverse environments.

Hybrid-Biocomposite Material for Corrosion Prevention in Pipeline: a review

  • One of the most challenging issues in the oil and gas industry is corrosion assessment and management in subsea structures or equipment. At present, almost all steel pipelines are sensitive to corrosion in harsh working environments, particularly in salty water and sulphur ingress media. Nowadays, the most commonly practiced solution for a damaged steel pipe is to entirely remove the pipe, to remove only a localized damaged section and then replace it with a new one, or to cover it with a steel patch through welding, respectively. Numerous literatures have shown that fiber-reinforced polymer-based composites can be effectively used for steel pipe repairs. Considerable research has also been carried out on the repair of corroded and gouged pipes incorporated with hybrid natural fiber-reinforced composite wraps. Currently, further research in the field should focus on enhanced use of the lesser and highly explored hybrid-biocomposite material for the development in corrosion prevention. A hybrid-biocomposite material from renewable resource based derivatives is cost-effective, abundantly available, biodegradable, and an environmentally benign alternative for corrosion prevention. The aim of this article is to provide a comprehensive review and to bridge the gap by developing a new hybrid-biocomposite with superhydrophobic surfaces.

백두산 수목한게량 상부의 식생특성 (The Vegetation Characteristics of the Upper Area of Timber Line in Mt. Paektu)

  • The vegetation of alpine and subalpine zone from timber line, 2,000m altitude, to the upper area of Mt. Packtu were investigated by phytosociological method. The plant distribution along to the different altitudes shown as follows: Betula ermani community with Rhododendron redowskianum occupied dominantly at 2,000m area as patch forms, Rhododendron redowskianum community with Vaccinium uliginosum, at 2,180-2,200m area, both Vaccinium uliginosum and Rhododendron redowskianum community were compatible with each other at 2,243m area. Rhododendron redowskianum community at 2,250, Salix rotundifolia community, Erigeron thunbergii var. glabrata community, Dryas octopetala var. asiatica community and Carex atrata community were occurred frequently at 2,263m around Chonji Lake. Rhododendron aureum, Thunbergii coccinea and V accinium uliginosum showed higher cover degree than other species at 2,370m area, Phyllodoce coerulea-Rhododendron aureum community at 2,400m, Rhododendron redowskianum community at 2,470m, Rhododendron aureum community at 2,490m, Salix rotundifolia at 2,520m, Rhododendron redowskianum community at 2,580m, Dryas octopetala var. asiatica community, Salix rotundifolia, and bistorta achotensis etc. at 2,650 altitude area were settled as sparse, creeping shape on the surface soil and dwarf plants of about 15cm heights.

개방 종단된 계단형 슬롯을 사용한 UWB용 안테나의 소형화 (Miniaturization of UWB Antenna Using Open Ended Stepped Slot)

  • 기존의 UWB용 계단형 슬롯 안테나의 크기를 절반으로 줄이기 위해 개방 종단된 계단형 슬롯 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 방사부로써 접지면에 에칭된 계단형 슬롯과 윗면의 광대역 임피던스 정합을 위한 사각형 패치를 가진 마이크로스트립 급전선으로 구성된다. 제안된 안테나는 유전상수(${\epsilon}_r$)가 4.3, 두께가 1.6 mm, 크기가 $28.5{\times}32mm^2$ 인 FR4 기판에 설계 및 제작 되었다. 제안된 안테나의 제작 및 측정 결과, 임피던스 대역폭(${\mid}S_{11}{\mid}{\leq}-10dB$)이 7.99 GHz (3.01~11 GHz)로 UWB 대역(3.1 ~ 10.6 GHz)을 충분히 만족하였다. 특히 제안된 안테나의 크기가 기존의 안테나에 비해 절반으로 줄어들었음에도 불구하고, 사용하고자 하는 전 대역에서 안정되고 우수한 무지향성 방사패턴을 얻을 수 있었으며 2.18 ~ 4.93 dBi의 높은 이득 또한 얻을 수 있었다.

반원 확장을 이용한 초광대역 슬롯 안테나 설계 (The Design of the Ultra-Wideband Slot Antenna by Using a Semi-Circular Extension)

  • 본 논문에서는 반원 확장을 이용한 Ultra-Wideband(UWB)슬롯 놋치 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 UWB 통신 주파수 대역인 3.1${\~}$10.6 GHz 대역을 만족했으며, IEEE 802.11a 주파수 대역인 5.15${\~}$5.825 GHz는 안테나 패치면에 형성한 $\lambda$/4 길이의 슬롯에 의해 필터링 되었다. 안테나는 유전율이 4.4이며 두께가 0.8 mm인 FR-4로 제작하였으며, VSWR 특성을 측정하였다. 슬롯의 길이 변화에 따른 놋치 특성을 측정하였으며, 경로 손실과 그룹딜레이를 측정하였다. 제안된 안테나는 IEEE 802.11a 주파수 대역을 제외하고는 평탄한 이득 변화량(1.9 dBi)을 나타내었다.

Consequences of land use change on bird distribution at Sakaerat Environmental Research Station

  • The objectives of this research were to predict land-use/land-cover change at the Sakaerat Environmental Research Station (SERS) and to analyze its consequences on the distribution for Black-crested Bulbul (Pycnonotus melanicterus), which is a popular species for bird-watching activity. The Dyna-CLUE model was used to determine land-use allocation between 2008 and 2020 under two scenarios. Trend scenario was a continuation of recent land-use change (2002-2008), while the integrated land-use management scenario aimed to protect 45% of study area under intact forest, rehabilitated forest and reforestation for renewable energy. The maximum entropy model (Maxent), Geographic Information System (GIS) and FRAGSTATS package were used to predict bird occurrence and assess landscape fragmentation indices, respectively. The results revealed that parts of secondary growth, agriculture areas and dry dipterocarp forest close to road networks would be converted to other land use classes, especially eucalyptus plantation. Distance to dry evergreen forest, distance to secondary growth and distance to road were important factors for Black-crested Bulbul distribution because this species prefers to inhabit ecotones between dense forest and open woodland. The predicted for occurrence of Black-crested Bulbul in 2008 covers an area of 3,802 ha and relatively reduces to 3,342 ha in 2020 for trend scenario and to 3,627 ha for integrated-land use management scenario. However, intact habitats would be severely fragmented, which can be noticed by total habitat area, largest patch index and total core area indices, especially under the trend scenario. These consequences are likely to diminish the recreation and education values of the SERS to the public.
