  • A method for miniaturization of microstrip patch antenna without degrading its radiation characteristics is investigated. The ring geometry introduces additional parameters to the antenna that can be used to control its resonance frequency and bandwidth. For a single square ring increasing the size of patch decreases the resonance frequency and bandwidth. To match the antenna to a transmission line and also enhance its bandwidth. the square ring patch is stacked by a square ring patch. The computed results are compared with experiment and good agreement is obtained.

  • In this paper, a microstrip antenna is designed using a rectangular patch. To find characteristics of the antenna, computer simulations of the rectangular single microstrip patch antenna are performed with changing width. And we compared the result of computer simulation with the experimental value. Through the results, we found that the 3-D FDTD method is an effective method for designing microstrip patch antenna. According to simulation the resonant point has been found it in the frequency received from GPS satellite. It is thought that make it match by adjusting the feedpoint.

  • Aperture-coupled microstrip antenna is one type of microstrip antennas. This type of antenna has bandwidth wider than simple microstrip antenna. Herein, we use two substrates, that have the same dielectric constant 2.47 (PTFE-quartz) in which upper substrate is a rectangular patch. The microstrip patch is fed by a microstrip line which is printed on lower substrate, through an aperture or slot in the common ground plane of patch and microstrip feed. This antenna is analyzed by using Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method the specific design frequency 10 GHz and match impedance is 50 ohms. The simulation results of its characteristics are input impedance, return loss, VSWR and radiation patterns respectively.

  • In this paper, $2{\times}4$ microstrip patch antenna are proposed to implement K-band satellite communications. The microstrip feed line are inset into the radiation patch to match input impedance. Also the same current in each elements are excited by Kirchhoff's low. The elements distance of proposed array antenna are optimized $0.8{\lambda}_g$ to minimize a mutual coupling and maximize a gain. A power divider network are employed to distribute T-junction divider. As result, the proposed antenna get gain of 14[dBi] at 10.525[GHz].

  • This paper presents a dual exposure fusion method for image enhancement. Images taken with a short exposure time usually contain a sharp structure, but they are dark and are prone to be contaminated by noise. In contrast, long-exposure images are bright and noise-free, but usually suffer from blurring artifacts. Thus, we fuse the dual exposures to generate an enhanced image that is well-exposed, noise-free, and blur-free. To this end, we present a new scale-space patch-match method to find correspondences between the short and long exposures so that proper color components can be combined within a proposed dual non-local (DNL) means framework. We also present a residual filtering method that eliminates the structure component in the estimated noise image in order to obtain a sharper and further enhanced image. To this end, the entropy is utilized to determine the proper size of the filtering window. Experimental results show that our method generates ghost-free, noise-free, and blur-free enhanced images from the short and long exposure pairs for various dynamic scenes.

  • Although many kinds of stereo matching method have been developed in the field of computer vision and photogrammetry, wrong matches are not easy to avoid. This paper presents a new method to reduce wrong matches after matching, and experimental results are reported. The main idea is to analyze the histogram of the image attribute differences between each pair of image patches matched. Typical image attributes of image patch are the mean and the standard deviation of gray value for each image patch, but there could be other kinds of image attributes. Another idea is to check relative position among potential matches. This paper proposes to use Gaussian blunder filter to detect the suspicious pair of candidate match in relative position among neighboring candidate matches. If the suspicious candidate matches in image attribute difference or relative position are suppressed, then many wrong matches are removed, but minimizing the suppression of good matches. The proposed method is easy to implement, and also has potential to be applied as post processing after image matching for many kinds of matching methods such as area based matching, feature matching, relaxation matching, dynamic programming, and multi-channel image matching. Results show that the proposed method produces fewer wrong matches than before.

  • This paper implemented an ultra-wideband(: UWB) antenna by using a modified barrel-shaped patch antenna. The designed UWB patch antenna was optimized to match UWB technical specifications by considering the sizes of barrel circle and oval(notch) which is distance between the patch and contact surface and designed antenna was implemented by $10mm(R1){\times}21.8mm$ size. Optimal values on the basis of simulated reflective loss results, the surface current distribution of designed patch antenna was analyzed in order to check operation mode of antenna and wideband mechanism. Experimental results of implemented UWB antenna, Return loss of UWB antenna the voltage standing wave ratio was 2 or less in the 1.775-13.075 GHz band, VSWR in 2 or less. And the maximum gain of approx. 1-3 dBi was found in 3.1-10.6 GHz. This result satisfied the characteristics of ultra-wideband and the proposed antenna will be applicable to an ultra-wideband system.

  • This paper describes the design of a coplanar-stripline(CPS) antenna without via hole in microstrip patch type for 910MHz RFID tags using the HFSS simulator. In order to obtain the simplified fabrication design of the antenna, we have used only an impedance matching network to match the impedance of a RFID-tag chip to that of the antenna, not using bandpass filter(BPF). In advance of the optimized antenna design, we have obtained and shown a good agreement compared with the published antenna for 5.8GHz in order to verify the simulation parameters in the HFSS. Based on the verified simulation parameters in the HFSS, we have designed and optimized the 910MHz-CPS-type microstrip patch antenna. The designed simulation results of the antenna show that the proposed antenna is very proper for RFID tags with the 910MHz center frequency without via hole in the microstrip patch antenna.

  • In this paper, a design for a novel microstrip antenna with circular polarization diversity is proposed and experimentally investigated. This antenna is excited by a microstrip line, which is located at the corner of a circular patch. The polarization state can be switched electrically by setting a diode to on or off. The novel structure we describe here enables the optimization of the input match for both polarizations. From the measured result, good axial ratios are observed at the operating frequencies.
