  • These days, Emotional Design is on the sustainable development through activity study thogh, until now, the study proceed too far with Sensibility Ergonomics applied to SD. However, on this paper, the study would be make progress through GSD that it applied to Verb. For this reason, applied to Emotional Design consideration of theory through JOAN MEYERS-LEVY's papaer titled "The Influence of Ceiling Height", Laban Movement Analysis and Aspect of Semiotics and then judgement of GSD would be make progress through experiment to collection of Emotional Vocabularies and evaluation of body movement. There is a method of analysis by using statistical program such as SPSS 18.0 and it would have validity of analysis. Here is a result of this study. According to heights of ceiling types(2.4M, 3.0M) there are differences between behavior of Figure Attachment, Emotional Vocabularies of the event and Body Movement. While the Figure Attachment has a tendency to restricted scope, CH has a tendency to make attachment within the scope. You could see the Negative Adjective for Emotional Vocabularies at CL and the Positive Adjective ranges at the CH. Basic body movement for passive, 'moving' and 'stretching' as shown at CL more than the CH. For active movement which has purpose, 'moving the weight' and 'stretching' as shown at CH more than at CL.

Seismic performance-based optimal design approach for structures equipped with SATMDs

  • This paper introduces a novel, rigorous, and efficient probabilistic methodology for the performance-based optimal design (PBOD) of semi-active tuned mass damper (SATMD) for seismically excited nonlinear structures. The proposed methodology is consistent with the modern performance-based earthquake engineering framework and aims to design reliable control systems. To this end, an optimization problem has been defined which considers the parameters of control systems as design variables and minimization of the probability of exceeding a targeted structural performance level during the lifetime as an objective function with a constraint on the failure probability of stroke length damage state associated with mass damper mechanism. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is illustrated through a numerical example of performance analysis of an eight-story nonlinear shear building frame with hysteretic bilinear behavior. The SATMD with variable stiffness and damping have been designed separately with different mass ratios. Their performance has been compared with that of uncontrolled structure and the structure controlled with passive TMD in terms of probabilistic demand curves, response hazard curves, fragility curves, and exceedance probability of performance levels during the lifetime. Numerical results show the effectiveness, simplicity, and reliability of the proposed PBOD method in designing SATMD with variable stiffness and damping for the nonlinear frames where they have reduced the exceedance probability of the structure up to 49% and 44%, respectively.

  • 본 논문은 주파수 변조 기법을 도입하여 메탈 핼라이드 램프의 음향공명 현상을 제거한 수동 PFC 구조의 전자식 안정기를 설계 및 구현하였다. 제안하는 안정기는 EMI 필터, 수동 PFC 회로, 풀 브리지 인버터 및 LC 공진 타입의 점화기, 그리고 음향공명 현상을 제거하기 위한 회로로 구성되었다. 주파수 변조 기법의 도입으로 단일 주파수 구동시 문제점이였던 램프의 수명 경과에 따른 음향공명 대역이 변화와 동일한 크기의 방전관이라도 램프 제조 사마다 아크 튜브 내부에 봉입되는 물질과 압력차에 의한 음향공명 대역의 차이를 해결하였다. 개발된 prototype 1[kW] 메탈 핼라이드 램프용 전자식 안정기의 광변환 효율, 입력 PF, 입력 전류의 THD, 그리고 전력 변환 효율을 측정함으로써 성능을 입증하였다.

능동적 및 수동적 관심전환 중재가 예방접종 시 학령전기 아동의 통증반응에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Active and Passive Distraction Intervention on Pain Responses of Preschool Children during Immunization)

  • 본 연구는 예방접종을 위해 병원을 방문한 학령전기 아동을 대상으로 관심전환 중재를 제공하고, 중재가 그들의 통증반응에 미치는 효과를 확인하고자 시도되었다. 실험 1군에는 수동적 관심전환 중재(만화 동영상)를, 실험 2군은 능동적 관심전환 중재(상호작용이 가능한 장난감)를 제공한 후 일상적인 통증관리 이외에 관심전환 중재를 제공하지 않은 대조군과 비교한 비동등성 대조군 사후설계를 이용한 유사실험연구이다. 자료는 2014년 10월 22일부터 11월 5일까지 집단 별로 30명씩 수집하였고, 통증반응은 아동, 부모 및 연구자에 의해 측정되었다. 연구 결과 관심전환 중재를 제공받은 실험군(수동적 관심전환 중재군, 능동적 관심전환 중재군)과 대조군은 아동이 자가보고한 통증반응(F=68.92, p=< .001), 부모가 지각한 아동의 통증반응(F=42.63, p=< .001) 및 연구자가 관찰한 아동의 통증반응(F=114.56, p=< .001)에서 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 실험 집단 간에도 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 관심전환 중재가 학령전기 아동의 예방접종과 관련된 통증을 경감시키는 데 효과적인 중재이고, 수동적 방법이 능동적 방법보다 효과적인 것으로 나타났으며, 추후 연구에서는 관심전환 중재 및 관심전환 중재물의 형태에 따른 효과를 검증하기 위한 반복연구가 요구된다.

전압 차동 트랜스컨덕턴스 증폭기를 사용한 새로운 플로팅 인덕터 (A New Floating Inductor Using A Voltage Differencing Transconductance Amplifier)

  • In this paper a new method is proposed for realizing active floating inductors from voltage differencing transconductance amplifier(VDTA) which is being studied nowadays. This proposed method employs only one VDTA and one transconductance for designing an active inductor from a passive floating inductor and implementing it to integrated circuits. The number of CMOS transistors can be considerably reduced from 6~18 as 1~3 gm circuits can be eliminated and even without R the design can be made, which can help in reducing the size of the circuit and power consumption. The proposed VDTA floating inductor was successfully used in constructing 1 MHz second order biquad active bandpass filter and bandwidth could be adjusted from 77kHz~1.59MHz by the changes made in gm from 6uS~20uS.

  • A coplanar waveguide(CPW) on a dielectric substrate consists of a center strip conductor with semi-infinite ground planes on either side. This type of waveguide offers several advantages over microstrip line. It facilitates easy shunt as well as series mounting of active and passive devices. It eliminates the need for wraparound and via holes, and it has a low radiation loss. These, as well as several other advantages, make CPW ideally suited for microwave integrated circuit applications. However, very little information is available in the literature on models for CPW discontinuities. This lack of sufficient discontinuity models for CPW has limited the application of CPW in microwave circuit design. We presented for the characteristics of coplanar waveguide open end capacitance and series gap capacitance. Measurements by utilizing the resonance method were made and the experimental data confirmed the validity of theories. The relationships between the CPW capacitances and the physical dimensions were studied.

  • This paper is to present a selected method of circuit parameters in the inverter part of the electronic dimming ballast for fluorescent lamps, that is adequate to use with the prevailing dimming controller IC. Through the experiment result using the prototype of the electronic dimming ballast produced by this method, its validity is verified from the electrical and light output characteristics on fluorescent lamps. Also, it is feasible to remote automatic and passive control fur dimming electronic ballast as using a microprocessor, and we easily recognize the lamp condition owing to make a program indicate abnormal behavior for fluorescent lamp at PC screen.

A Direct AC Driver with Reduced Flicker for Multiple String LEDs

  • This paper proposes a method to reduce flicker when running an AC-power direct-drive type multiple string LED driver IC. The proposed method greatly decreases flicker using one capacitor and P-type MOSFET transistor (PMOS). The flicker index (FI) was reduced by over 40% through experiments, and less than half of the conventional external components are used in the passive valley fill circuit, which gives an advantage in the cost and utilization in the design of LED lighting modules. The 0.35 um 700 V BCD process was used to manufacture this LED driver.

  • An improved half-bridge LLC converter with a magamp auxiliary post-regulator is proposed in this paper. The function of the magamp is bypassed when the converter works within the low input-voltage range. Meanwhile, it operates as an auxiliary post-regulator when the input voltage is high. By changing the blocking time of the magamp, the dc gain of the converter can be extended. Hence, the input voltage range of the converter is extended. The realization of proposed topology does not require a complicated circuit. The controller of the magamp can be easily implemented using only passive components, transistors and an OP amp. The generalized operational principle is analyzed and the design criterion for the magamp is presented. Finally, a 25V output, 400W experimental prototype was built and tested for a 160-300V input-voltage range to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

Strategic width-wise arrangement of viscous dampers in steel buildings under strong earthquakes

  • Supplemental passive dampers are widely employed to improve the structural performance of buildings under seismic excitations. Nevertheless, the added damping could be counter-productive if the axial forces induced by the damper reaction forces are not routed properly in the columns. A few researchers engaged to optimize the width-wise damper arrangement to improve the delivered path of the axial column forces. However, most of these studies are limited under the design-based seismic level and few of them has evaluated the collapse performance of buildings under strong earthquakes. In this paper, the strategic width-wise placement method of viscous dampers is explored regarding the building performance under collapse state. Two realistic steel buildings with different storeys are modelled and compared to explore higher mode effects. Each building is designed with four different damper arrangement scenarios based on a classic damper distribution method. Both a far-fault and a near-fault seismic environment are considered for the buildings. Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) is performed to evaluate the probability of collapse and the plastic mechanism of the retrofitted steel buildings.
