동작주파수 및 출력파워 조절이 용이한 신호생성용 안테나 설계 (An Antenna-Integrated Oscillator Design Providing Convenient Control over the Operating Frequency and Output Power)

  • 동작주파수를 쉽게 조절할 수 있는 신호생성용 안테나 (Antenna-Integrated Oscillator) 설계방법을 소개한다. 제안하는 회로는 광대역에서 부성저항을 갖는 능동회로 (Negative-Resistance Circuit)와 패치안테나로 구분되며, 오실레이터의 동작주파수는 안테나의 공진 주파수로 결정된다. 이러한 디자인 방법은 안테나와 오실레이터의 동작주파수 불일치로 인한 출력파워의 감소 가능성을 줄일 수 있다. 또, 제안하는 설계방법에서 안테나의 Feed 지점과 Feed 라인의 길이를 조절하여 최적의 출력파워를 낼 수 있음을 Load-Pull 시뮬레이션으로 확인하였다. C-band, X-band 회로를 각각 제작, 측정하였고 이를 통하여 설계방법의 타당성을 증명하였다.

  • Metal matrix composite (MMC) materials having low electrical contact resistance based on 316L stainless steel (STS) matrix alloy with $ZrB_2$ particles were fabricated for PEMFC (Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell) separator by powder metallurgy (PM). The effects of the boride particle addition into the matrix alloy on microstructure, surface morphology, and interfacial contact resistance (ICR) between the samples and gas diffusion layer (GDL) were investigated. Both conventional and PM 316L STS samples showed high ICR due to the existence of non-conductive passive film on the alloy surface. The addition of the boride particles, however, remarkably reduced ICR of the samples. SEM observation revealed that the boride particles were protruded out of the matrix surface and particle density existing on the surface increased with increasing the boride content, causing increase of the total contact area between the conductive particles and GDL. ICR of the samples also decreased with increasing the boride content resulted from the increased contact area.

  • Additively manufactured (AM) Ti-6Al-4V alloys exhibit a dominant acicular martensite phase (α'), which is characterized by an unstable energy state and highly localized corrosion susceptibility. Electrochemical critical localized corrosion temperature (E-CLCT, ISO 22910: 2020) and electrochemical critical localized corrosion potential (E-CLCP, ISO AWI 4631: 2021) were measured to analyze the localized corrosion resistance of the AM Ti-6Al-4V alloy. Although E-CLCP was measured under mild corrosive conditions such as human body, the validity of evaluating localized corrosion resistance of AM titanium alloys was demonstrated by comparison with E-CLCT. However, the mechanisms of resistance to localized corrosion on the as-received and heat-treated AM Ti-6Al-4V alloys under E-CLCT and E-CLCP differ at various temperatures because of differences in properties under localized corrosion and repassivation. The E-CLCT is mainly measured for initiation of localized corrosion on the AM titanium alloys based on temperature, whereas the E-CLCP yields repassivation potential of re-generated passive films of AM titanium alloys after breaking down.

신장성에 따른 띠형 보강재의 인발저항 특성 (Pullout Resistance Characteristics of Strip-type Reinforcement based on Extensibility)

  • 본 연구에서는 띠형 형태의 보강재에 대하여 신장성에 따른 인발저항 특성을 평가하기 위하여, 강재스트립 및 띠형 섬유보강재를 대상으로 대형인발시험을 수행하였다. 또한 약간의 지지저항이 함께 발현되는 돌기형 강재스트립 보강재의 인발시험 결과를 마찰저항 보강재의 결과와 비교하였다. 단면적이 작은 돌기형 강재스트립 보강재는 지지저항에 기인하여 마찰저항만으로 인발저항이 발현되는 보강재에 비하여 우수한 인발저항 특성을 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 단면적이 유사한 마찰저항 보강재의 경우에는 신장성 보강재가 비신장성 보강재에 비하여 우수한 인발저항 특성을 나타내는 것으로 평가되었다.

강 구조물에 대한 폴리아닐린 함유도료의 방청특성 (Anti-Corrosion Characteristics of Steel Structures with Polyaniline Anti-Corrosive Coatings)

  • In preparative anti-corrosive coating experiments, polyaniline was obtained by reacting an oxidizing agent with the monomer aniline. Further, the primer coating was prepared using a variety of widely-used materials such as urethane resin. For the top coating, epoxy resin and acrylic urethane resin were used. Characteristics of the coatings were assessed according to KS and ASTM specifications, and the structure of the polyaniline was characterized using FT-IR and TGA. For analysis of anti-corrosive properties in salt-spray experiments, measurements of the oxidation state of iron and surface atomic analysis were conducted using XPS and SEM-EDX. Unlike general anti-corrosive coatings which exhibit anti-corrosive effects only as a primer coating, the anti-corrosive coatings using polyaniline as the anti-corrosive pigment showed a marked synergistic effect with the top coatings. In other words, the top coatings not only produce a fine view effect, but also increase, through interaction with the primer coatings, the resistance to diffusion of corrosive factors from the external environment. It was also found that, unlike the heavy metal oxide-forming layer of the passive barrier alone, the polyaniline anti-corrosive pigment oxidized iron at the interface with the iron substrate to form a passive barrier in the oxidic layer, and itself formed a potential barrier layer with anti-corrosive factors from the external environment. Although the passive layer was damaged, the damaged area did not become completely oxidized iron; on the contrary, it showed a tendency to reduction. This can be interpreted such that a passive layer is formed again on the damaged area, and that at the same time there is a tendency to self-healing.

  • In this study, PSII(plasma source ion implantation) was used to improve the biocompatibility of bone-anchored Ti implant. According to potentiodynamic anodic polarization test in deaerated Hank's solution, open circuit potential of ion implanted specimens were increased compare to that of unimplanted specimen ; besides, passive current density and critical anodic current density of ion implanted specimens were lower than unimplanted specimen.

  • We have developed simplified processes for the formation of insulators, cathode separators and bus electrodes in PMOLEDs. The insulators and cathode separators are patterned simultaneously by a single layer of image reversal photoresist. And, the bus electrodes of low resistance are formed by the cathode separator and cathode metal. Using these simplified processes, we fabricated 1.17" $96{\times}RGB{\times}96$ panels and analyzed their performance and reliability.

Fe-38 at.% Al계 금속간화합물의 표면특성에 미치는 합금원소의 영향 (Effects of Alloying Elements on the Surface Characteristics of Fe-38Al Intermetallic Compounds)

  • Effects of alloying elements on the surface characteristics of Fe-38Al intermetallic compounds were investigated using potentiostat. The specimens were casted by the vacuum arc melting. The subsequent homogenization and the stabilization led to the homogeneous DO$_3$ structure of the specimen. After the corrosion tests, the surface of the tested specimen was observed by the optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). For Fe-38 at.% Al intermetallic compound, the addition of Cr and Mo proved to be beneficial in decreasing the grain boundary attack by decreasing the active current density. Addition of Band Nb resulted in a higher active current density and also a higher passive current density. These results indicated the role of Cr and Mo in improving the pitting corrosion resistance of Fe-38 at.%Al intermetallic compound. Band Nb addition to Fe-38 at.%Al accelerated the granular corrosion. Fe-38 at.%Al containing Cr and Mo showed remarkably improved pitting corrosion resistance in comparison with Band Nb addition to Fe-38 at. %Al.

이상계 스테인레스 강 용접부의 인성과 내식성 거동 (Property differences between GTAW and SMAW duplex stainless steel weld metal)

  • Mechanical and corrosion property of duplex stainless steel weldments made by the GTAW and SMAW process were studied. Fracture toughness, general and local corrosion resistance of GTAW and SMAW weldments were evaluated in terms of Charpy V notch impact test, anodic polarization diagram, pitting corrosion rate, respectively. SMA weld metal showed much lower impact toughness and higher ductile-brittle transition temperature than GTA weld metal. Fractographic and EDX analysis on fracture surface of SMA weld metal demonstrated the existence of (Si, Ti), oxide in large amounts. Potentiodynamic anodic polarization diagram of GMA weld metal showed much lower passive current density than SMA weld metal in 4% $H_2/SO_4$ solution. And pitting corrosion rate test showed the same tendency. Relating the microstructure, chemistry and property, it can be concluded that GTA weld metal gives better toughness due to lower oxygen content, i.e. lower inclusion content, and better corrosion resistance due to higher Pitting Index(PI) than SMA weld metal.

  • This essay examines how the figure of Liberty has been refashioned in the streets of post-apartheid South Africa, addressing three public art works installed in Johannesburg over the past decade: Reshada Crouse's oil painting Passive Resistance, Marlene Dumas' tapestry The Benefit of the Doubt and William Kentridge's and Gerhard Marx's sculpture Firewalker. Even as these monumental works all reprise Delacroix's Liberty on the Barricades-an icon of the city street and its revolutionary barricades-so too this trio of Liberties have become mere phantoms of their vaunted archetype. Haunted specters, they quarrel with the mythologized chimera of Liberty, taking issue with the fraught tradition of pinning regime change onto the body of the female nude. Drawing instead on South African histories of women's resistance, in which female nudity has been repeatedly marshaled as a form of dissent, the Liberties circling Johannesburg hybridize their European template with local traditions of female political opposition to colonial and postcolonial male authority.
