라운드 리클라이너 개발을 위한 정적 강도 해석 및 안전성 평가 (Static Strength Analysis and Safety Evaluation for Developing a Round Recliner)

  • Seat is one of the most important part of an automobile for passenger's safety especially when an accident happens. A recliner is a part of the seat assembly, having the function of adjusting the back-plate angle of a seat. Recently, many kinds of vehicles have adopted the round recliner module rather than the conventional types of recliners because of its broad compatibility and structural simplicity. In this study a two-dimensional finite element strength analysis has been performed using a commercial code ABAQUS/Standard for the purpose of developing a new round recliner model. The loading condition for the analysis is the same as the FMVSS 301 regulation. The finite element result for the round recliner has been compared with that for the conventional type.

스테인리스 차체의 시험에 의한 구조강도 평가 (An evaluation of structural strength by testing the carbody of stainless steel material)

  • This study introduces the testing results of the carbody. The load test was performed to evaluate the structural characteristic and stability of the stainless carbody. The carbody is made of stainless steel. The body structure consisted of side frame, under frame, roof frame, and end frame. Of these components, the side frame and under frame were the most important components considering the vehicle and passenger loads. Loading test were performed under the condition based on "Performance Test Standard for Electrical Multiple Unit". The test results showed that the body structure is safe and stable under the condition of designed load.

  • A bogie frame is typical safty part of railway vehicle. Main performance of a bogie frame is to support a car body and passenger weight and transfer traction and braking force. This paper is to evaluate the static strength and fatigue strength for the end trailer bogie with UIC 615-4 code. Therefore stress analysis of the end trailer bogie frame has been performed for various loading condition according to the UIC 615-4 code and haigh diagram is used for evaluation of fatigue strength. By the results of these analysis, static and fatigue strength of the end trailer bogie is satisfied with a applied criterion.

  • An automotive wheel bearing is one of the most important components to guarantee the service life of a passenger car. The endurance life of a bearing is affected by many parameters such as material properties, heat treatment, lubrication conditions, operating temperature, loading conditions, bearing geometry, the internal clearance of bearing and so on. In this paper, we analyze the relation between loads and deformations of wheel bearing units for optimal bearing unit design. On the basis of it, we calculate the endurance life of w heel bearing units and analyze the contribution of bearing geometric parameters on the endurance life by using Taguchi method.

중형 상용차량 ESC 평가를 위한 Sine with Dwell Test 제안 (Proposal for Using Sine with Dwell for the Evaluation of ESC for Medium Commercial Vehicles)

  • A sine with dwell test is well known as a test scenario for evaluation of performance of electronic stability control(ESC) on passenger vehicles and heavy commercial vehicles. However, when it comes to ESC for medium commercial vehicles, the test scenario has not been established yet. In this paper, the sine with dwell test was modified considering characteristics of medium commercial vehicles. The three main modifications of the original test scenario are the steering angle level, steering frequency, and loading condition of the vehicle. These modifications are derived from simulation study for different medium commercial vehicles. From simulation study, it was shown that the ESC system for medium commercial vehicle is objectively evaluated by the proposed test scenario. A clear improvement on vehicle stability was seen in the results when ESC system was used.

전면 도어 와이어하니스 시스템의 내구 수명 예측에 관한 연구 (Durability Prediction of Door W/H System Using FEM Analysis)

  • In vehicle's door wiring harness (W/H) system is more toward to arrange a passenger compartment than a hinge and a weatherstrip. An opening/closing member of a vehicle is attached to a vehicle by a hinge in a manner enabling easy opening and closing of the opening/closing member. Such members include doors, such as side-doors and rear doors, and other opening/closing members, such as trunk lids. This article gives some insight into the dimensioning process, with special focus on large deflection analysis of wiring harness(W/H) in vehicle's door structures for durability problem. The Finite elements analysis for door wiring harness(W/H) is used for residual stresses and dimensional stability with bending flexible. Durability test data for slam test specimens were compared with the numerical predicted fatigue life for verification. The final testing of the component combines the effects of these microstructural features with the complex stress state arising from the combined service loading and residual stresses.

  • Recently, it has been trending toward speed-up not only in the passenger car but in the freight cu. In this study, we thus performed stress analysis for the carbody for high speed container freight car in use and field test of the freight car in Gyungbu-line so that we may utilize the results as a design guide for speed-up hereafter- Five vertical loading conditions due to dynamic effect and the weight of the carbody and the container applied to locking devices of the carbody and its results are compared with that of a test, As a result, we found that there is need to complement the strength of the carbody in some measure when speed up the present freight car.

  • This paper describes the result of load test of bogie frame. The purpose of test is to evaluate an safety which bogie frame shall be considered fully sufficient rigidity so as to satisfy proper system function under maximum load. Bogie system consist of bogie frame, suspensions, wheel-sets, brake system and transmission system. Among these component, the bogie frame is the most significant component subjected to the vehicle and passenger loads. The evaluation method is used the JIS E 4207 specification throughout the static load test. The test results have been very safety and stable for design load conditions.

Set Covering 이론을 이용한 시내버스 최적노선망 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Urban Bus Network Design Using the Set Covering Theory)

  • 지금까지 시내버스 노선계획에 관한 대다수의 연구는 개별노선에 대한 지엽적인 분석을 바탕으로 하고 있으나 본 연구에서는 각 노선의 개별적 고려가 아닌 네트워크 차원의 최적화를 위한 노선계획 방법론을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 방법론은 계획가적 관점에서 버스이용자를 포함한 모든 통행자는 최단경로로 통행하기를 희망한다는 기본 전제하에 각 기종점의 최단경로로 구성된 대안 노선망을 도출하고 matrix 형태의 집합개념을 도입한 Set Covering 이론을 적용하여 노선공급수준을 축소하였다. 또한 노선축소과정에서 지금까지 부수적 통행요소로 인식되어온 환승을 활용하여 통행수요를 만족하는 최소규모의 노선망을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 고정수요를 가정하는 기존 연구와 달리 통행자 행태를 반영한 최적 노선망을 도출하기 위하여 시내버스 노선망 대안에 대한 가변수요를 구현하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 자가용이용자와 버스이용자로 구성된 전체 네트워크의 통행비용을 최소화하며 서비스 제공규모를 최소화하는 최적 시내버스 노선망을 도출하였다. 연구결과 기존연구와 비교하여 서비스 공급수준을 축소할 뿐 아니라 통행자의 행태를 고려한 해를 도출함으로써 현실성을 제고하였다.

여객선 세월호의 전복 요인 분석 (Analysis the factors on the capsize of passenger vessel Sewol)

  • A historical tragic disaster happened by capsizing the passenger ship Sewol at South Western Sea of Korea in 16, April 2014. The ship which left Incheon harbour to bound for Jeju port passed Maengol strait and reached to approach of Byung Pung island, and then capsized and sank with a sudden inclination to the portside in the mean time of starboard the helm. In this time, the ship which has very poor stability without sufficient ballast waters and with over loading cargo listed port side caused by the centrifugal force acting to the outside of turning. A lot of cargoes not fastened moved to the port side consequently, and the ship came to beam end to capsize and sank in the end. No crews including especially captain would offer their own duties in a such extremely urgent time, as a result, enormous number of victims broke out including a lot of student. In this report, author carried out some calculation on the factors which influenced on the stability of the ship, i.e. the ship's speed, the rudder angle, the weight of cargoes and distance of movement, the surface effect of liquid in the tank. We found out that the most causes of capsize were the poor stability with heavy cargoes and insufficient amount of ballast water against the rule, and the cargoes unfastened moved one side to add the inclination as well. Above all, the owner be blamable because of the illegally operating the ship without keeping the rule.
