This study examines the significance and problems of the Fourth Amendment to the Fisheries Act, which went into effect in January 2023. Following the passage of the Aquaculture Industry Development Act, the fourth amendment to the Fisheries Act sought to reform the fisheries legislative framework, while also including significant changes. In particular, a number of new systems for managing fishing gear have been implemented, and local governments now have some autonomy in fisheries management, which has allowed for adjustments to be made to meet the needs of the fishing industry and changes in socioeconomic situations. However, as independent legislation for each fisheries sector continues, the subject of regulation under the Fisheries Act, as well as the Act's position as a basic legal system, has been continuously reduced, overshadowing the Act's objective. As a result, a full-fledged assessment of changing the legislation's name in the future is required, as well as addressing issues such as the lack of difference in the legislative purpose clause and the necessity for further revision of the definition clause. Therefore, any future revisions to the Fisheries Act should aim to overhaul the existing framework, including fishing licenses and permits.
Centrifugal fans are widely used and the noise generated by these machines causes one of the most serious problems. In general, the centrifugal fan noise is often dominated by tones at BPF(blade passage frequency) and its higher harmonics. This is a consequence of the strong interaction between the flow discharged from the impeller and the cutoff in the casing. However, only a few researches have been carried out on predicting the noise due to the difficulty in obtaining detailed information about the flow field and casing effects on noise radiation. The objective of this study is to develop a prediction method for the unsteady flow field and the acoustic pressure field of a centrifugal fan and to calculate the effects of rotating velocity, flow rate, cut-off distance and the number of blades and its effects on the noise of the fan. We assume that the impeller rotates with a constant angular velocity and the flow field around the impeller is incompressible and inviscid. So, a discrete vortex method (DVM) is used to model the centrifugal fan and to calculate the flow field. The force of each element on the blade is calculated with the unsteady Bernoulli equation. Lowson's method is used to predict the acoustic source. The cut-off distance is the most important factor effecting the noise generation. Acoustic pressure is proportional to 2.8, which shows the same scaling index as the experimental result. In this paper, the cut-off distance is found to be the dominant parameter offecting the acoustic pressure.
The authors have investigated about the microbial contamination of goods which is a criterion of hygienic control. Conducting on investigation, a special attention has been paid on the rate of microbial contamination in the goods, especially in manufacturing process of the softdrink. The authors also made an experiment on total microbes which is the criterion of contamination in each step of the process and in raw materials together with materials to be used for subdividing. Results obtained were as follows : 1) The orgin of microbial contamination was found in bottle cap and in tap water, that is, there appeared 9 colony per ml in bottle cap and 31-74 colony per ml in tap water, respectively. 2) It was found that microbial contamination are 4 colony per ml in average through year. However, it appeared 1 colony per ml in winter and 8 colony per ml in summer. 3) Coliform groups are not detected in goods through a year. 4) There was no variation in number of total microbes after ion exchange resin passage in purification process of tap water. 5) The number of microbes in goods are decreased when the raw materials are treated in high temperature short time (HTST) sterilization.

The broadband and discrete sources of sound in small cooling fans of propeller type and centrifugal type were investigated to understand the turbulent vortex structures from many bladed fans using ANSI test plenum for small air-moving devices (AMDs). The noise measurement method uses the plenum as a test apparatus to determine the acoustic source spectral density function at each operating conditions similar to real engineering applications based on acoustic similarity laws. The characteristics of fans including the head rise vs. volumetric flow rate performance were measured using a performance test facility. The sound power spectrum is decomposed into two non-dimensional functions: an acoustic source spectral distribution function F(St,.phi.) and an acoustic system response function G(He,.phi.) where St, He, and .phi. are the Strouhal number, the Helmholtz number, and the volumetric flow rate coefficient, respectively. The autospectra of radiated noise measurements for the fan operating at several volumetric flow rates,.phi., are analyzed using acoustical similarity. The rotating stall in the small propeller fan with a bell-mouth guided is mainly due to a leading edge separation. It creates a blockage in the passage and the reduction in the flow rate. The sound power levels with respect to the rotational speeds were measured to reveal the mechanisms of stall and/or surge for different loading conditions and geometries, for example, fans installed with a impinging plate. Lee and Meecham (1993) studied the effect of the large-scale motions like impinging normally on a flat plate using Large-Eddy Simulation(LES) and Lighthill's analogy.[ASME Winter Annual Meeting 1993, 93-WA/NCA-22]. The dipole and quadrupole sources in the fans tested are shown closely related to the vortex structures involved using cross-correlations of the hot-wire and microphone signals.

Some therapeutic agents and medicaments may lead to pathologic changes in the gingival tissue, especially on the cultured human gingival fibroblasts. The purpose of this study was to investigate on the effect of diphenylhydantoin, retinoic acid to the human gingival fibroblast. Human gingival fibroblasts were cultured from the healthy gingiva of patients with orthodontic patients. Gingival fibroblasts were trypsinized and transferred to the wells of 96 well microtest plates. Next day, the medium was removed, fibroblasts were washed with HBSS, and the washed cells were cultured in growth medium added 5 or $10{\mu}g/ml$ of diphenylhydantoin, $10^{-5}M$, $10^{-6}M$ and $10^{-7}M$ of retinoic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid. The passage number of cultured fibroblasts were fifth and eighth. The cell morphology was examined by inverted microscope, the cell number was counted by hemocytometer, and cell activity was measured by the growth and proliferatiton assay using MTT assay. The fifth experiments were performed and statistical significance was measured by ANOVA. The cell morphology in the presence of retinoic acid was round irrespective of the presence of diphenylhydantoin and glycyrrhetinic acid(Fig 2-6). The proliferation of cells was not changed by diphenylhydantoin(Table 1). The cell activity showed the tendency to increase at the concentration of $10{\mu}$'/, of diphenylhydantoin (Table 2). The cell activity in the presence of retinoic acid glycyrrhetinic acid was decreased, and the increased cell activity by diphenylhydantoin was decreased by retinoic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid at the concentration of $10^{-7}M$(Table 3-5). These results suggested that the increased cell activity by diphenylhydantoin might be modulated by retinoic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid.

This study was carried out to understand the bird community and habitat using condition in the Gildong natural ecological park, from April 2001 to March 2002. In this study, 63 species and 2,075 individuals were observed respectively. The dominant species were Paradoxornis webbianus(33.6%), Emberiza elegans 18.5%), Parus major(6.4%), Pica pica(6.0%), and the diversity of the species was 2.511. With migration, the highest number and percentage to the lowest was residents, summer visitors, winter visitors and passage migrants. Among 17 species which bred in the Gildong natural ecological park, hole(H) was 47.1%, canopy(C) was 41.1% and bush(B) was 11.8% in their nesting guilds. In foraging guilds in breeding season was canopy(c) was 45.7%, water(w) was 23.9% and bush(c) was 15.2%, and, in non-breeding season, canopy was 43.5%, water 23.9% and bush 21.7%. For the habitats of the birds in the Gildong natural cological park, reservoir area was used by herons, ducks and sandpiper, wetland area was used by Lanius bucephalus, Paradoxornis webbianus and buntings, grassland area was used by Paradoxornis webbianus and buntings, and forest area was used by Streptopelia orientalis, woodpeckers and tits. The number of species and individuals of birds observed in the Gildong natural ecological park was higher than other urban parks. We suggest that this was attributed to different habitats such as reservoir, wetland, grassland and forest area constructed in the Gildong natural ecological park.

Objectives: This study was performed to assay the effect of neodymium oxide on the generation of reactive oxygen species and DNA oxidative damage by intratracheal instillation. Methods: Two groups of rats were exposed to neodymium oxide($Nd_2O_3$) via intratracheal instillation with doses of 0.5 mg and 2.0 mg, respectively. At two days and at 12 weeks after exposure, the contents of neodymium oxide in the lung, liver, kidney, heart and brain, leukocyte, olive tail moment, ROS, RNS, lactate dehydrogenase, albumin, cytokine and MDA from BALF were measured. Results: Neodymium oxide contents in the liver, kidney, heart, and brain were detected at less than $1{\mu}g/g$ tissue concentration. However, in the lungs at four weeks the highest amount were detected and then found to be drastically reduced at 12 weeks. ROS and RNS in bronchoalveolar lavage increased in concentration dependently at two days, four weeks and 12 weeks after neodymium oxide instillation. However, ROS and RNS decreased with the passage of time. At two days the total number of WBC in BALF in the high concentration group was significantly increased, and at four weeks the total number of WBC were significantly increased in the low and high concentration groups(p<0.01). At two days after exposure, the LDH of the low and high concentration groups was significantly increased. At 12 weeks, only the LDH of the high concentration group was significantly increased compared to in the control group(p<0.01). As a result of Comet assay, after two days, damage to the DNA of the low and high concentration groups was observed. Conclusions: Intratracheal instillation of neodymium oxide induces the generation of ROS and DNA damage in rats.

Objective: Remarkable difference in cellular activity was found between early and late subpassaged embryonic stem cell (ESCs) lines, which can be created by subtle changes in cell manipulation protocol. This study subsequently examined whether post-thaw subculture of early subpassaged ESC lines could further affect the activity of the ESCs. Methods: Fresh (as a control treatment) or cryopreserved F1 hybrid (B6CBAF1) early ESC lines (C57BL/6xCBA) of the 4 (P4) or the 19 passage (P19) were subcultured once, twice or six times under the same condition. The post-thaw survival of the ESCs was monitored after the post-treatment subculture and the ability of cell proliferation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, apoptosis and mitochondrial ATP synthesis was subsequently examined. Results: Regardless of the subculture number, P19 ESCs showed better (p<0.05) doubling time and less ATP production than P4 ESCs and such difference was not influenced by fresh or cryopreservation. The difference between P4 and P19 ESC lines became decreased as the post-treatment subculture was increased and the six times subculture eliminated such difference. Similarly, transient but prominent difference in ROS production and apoptotic cell number was detected between P4 and P19 ESCs only at the 1st subculture after treatment, but no statistical differences between two ESC lines was detected in other observations. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that post-thaw subculture of ESCs under the same environment is recommended for standardizing their cellular activity. The activity of cell proliferation ability and ATP synthesis can be used as parameters for quality control of ESCs.

Recently there has been many active researches on searching similar sequences from data generated with the passage of time. Those data are classified as time series data or sequence data and have different semantics from scalar data of traditional databases. In this paper similar sequence search retrieves sequences that have a similar trend of value changes. At first we have transformed the original sequences by applying DFT. The converted data are more suitable for trend analysis and they require less number of attributes for sequence comparisons. In addition we have developed a region-based query and we applied bitmap indexes which could show better performance in data warehouse. We have built bitmap indexes with varying number of attributes and we have found the least cost query plans for efficient similar sequence searches.
