This research was carried out to investigate the effects of density, resin and particle types on the physical and mechanical properties of the composites made from various wood particles mixed with coating paper. The experiment was designed to apply with three particles (flake, chip, and fiber) and three resin types (urea, phenol and PMDI resin). The mixed ratio of coating paper to wood particle was fixed on 50 to 50% in each board making. And also it was designed to apply for four density levels (0.6, 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9 g/$cm^3$) and four mixed formulations of coating paper to wood particle (10:90, 20:80, 30:70, and 40:60 %) to analyze clearly the effects of PMDI resin. Coating paper-wood particle composites have acceptable bending strength (MOR, MOE) though the mixed ratio of coating paper was increased, but have low internal bond strength and poor dimensional stability (WA, TS, LE). Composites with high density had higher mechanical properties but showed lower physical properties than composites with low density. In conclusion, at least up to 20% mixed ratios, coating paper-wood particle composites have acceptable physical and mechanical properties, and PMDI resin has possibility for coating paper-wood particle composite manufacture.

The present study is aimed to improve the PIV performance by suggesting a two-frame particle identification technique and by introducing estimation method of wall pressure distribution from the velocity data. Adopted image processing system consists of one commercial image board slit into a personal computer, 2-D sheet light generator, flow picture recording apparatus and related particle identification software. A revised particle tracking method essential to PIV performance is obtained by particle centroid correlation pairing (CCP) and its effectiveness is ascertained by comparison with multi-frame identification.
This research was conducted to examine the effect of bonding on the bending and shear strength of COMPLY-board when used with meranti face veneer and fire retardant treated particle-board core. For ammonium sulfate, modulus of rupture (MOR) of COMPLY-board increased with increasing chemical concentration up to 10 percent and then decreased after that concentration. However, Minalith showed reverse effect to the result for ammonium sulfate. Modulus of elasticity (MOE) of COMPLY-hoard decreased with increasing chemical concentration and its differences were not significant between concentration. Shear strength was shown better when treated with ammonium sulfate than with Minalith. Wood failure of COMPLY increased with increasing chemical concentration up to 15 percent and then decreased after that concentration. The products of parallel and cross veneer laminated were better than those of COMPLY composed of fire retardant treated particle-board core. Non-treated particle-board was the least in strength. MOE of fire retardant treated COMPLY increased by 136 percent and its MOE by 170 percent as compared with non treated particle-board.
This research carried out to investigate the effects of inorganic materials in paper sludge on the thermal degradation and of paper sludge addition on physical and mechanical properties of paper sludge-wood particle mixed boards in comparison with unmodified particleboards. Also these unmodified particleboards and paper sludge-wood particle mixed boards were soaked in aqueous solutions of fire-retardant chemicals(diammonium phosphate and zinc chloride), and their fire retardancy were tested by oxygen index method and ISO ignition test to determine the feasibility of paper sludge, industrial waste, as a recyclable resource in fabrication of fire-resisting panels for building material. Since the redrying of fire-retardant treated particleboards and paper sludge-wood particle mixed boards were made by press drying method, this process was a simple and effective method. On the other hand, flexural bending strength and internal bonding strength were also analysed to evaluate mechanical properties through standard method.
This study was conducted to obtain granular crystalline gypsum that can be used as raw material for plaster boards or cements from waste Plaster board. We could disintegrate preferentially gypsum to gypsum needle in 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ or less size among the contents of waste plaster board (gypsum, paper, fiber, and inorganic material .etc.) by hydration afterwards the dehydration of crushed waste plaster board. In this case, the optimum conditions for minimizing the size of gypsum were dehydration rate of 75%~ 85%, hydration concentration of 10~20%, agitation speed of 250~400rpm, crushing size of 2cm or less. Gypsum of 98.21% grade was recovered with 99.0% yield from under screenings of 325mesh wet screening which followed by the dehydration-hydration process performed in the conditions of dehydration rate of 80%, hydration concentration of 15%, agitation speed of 300rpm, crushing size of 2cm or less. Subsequently, Plate-like Crystalline gypsum of is 151${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ size and the grade of 99.49% with the Yield of 98.0% from the upper screenings of 270mesh wet screening carried out after the re-crystallization of the recovered gypsum needle slurry.
This study was conducted to obtain granular crystalline gypsum that can be used as raw material for Plaster boards or cements from waste Plaster board. Gypsum could be Preferentially disintegrated to gypsum needle in $10\mu\textrm{m}$ or less size by hydration after the dehydration of crushed waste Plaster board. The finer the gypsum needle, it is easier to remove coarse impurities and to recover the gypsum needle. The optimum conditions for obtain the finer gypsum size were dehydration rate of 75~85%, solid concentration at hydration of 10~15%, agitation speed of 250~400 rpm, crushing size before dehydration of 2 cm or less. Gypsum of 98.21% grade was recovered with 99.0% yield as the undersize of 325 mesh wet screening followed by the dehydration-hydration process performed at the conditions of dehydration rate of 80%, solid concentration at hydration of 15%, agitation speed of 300 rpm, crushing size before dehydration of 2 cm or less. After the recrystallization of recovered gypsum, Plate-like gypsum of $151\mu\textrm{m}$ size with 99.49% grade was obtained as the oversize of 270 mesh in a wet screening.
In this study we settled the trouble of the MgO board of existence by this research. We changed the wooden one of the main ingredient of a board to a perlite and a mineral particle in the aluminum hydroxide group and proceeded with a study to physical character and fire resistance efficiency improvement. The result yellowing phenomenon could be improved and it was possible to reduce size decrease of pin hole and the frequency of occurrence. We found out that the in case of absorbed amount added 5~8% corresponding to the weight decreases the acrylic group emulsion suddenly. So this product is improved with the bending strength and water-resistance. After behavior stop time measurement of a mouse for experiments was measured at the time of a gas harmful effect test, an improved MgO board appeared more highly for an average of 138 seconds compared with a board of existence.
The trajectories of PCB(Printed Circuit Board) particles in the corona discharge electrostatic separation was simulated. The PCB particles are prepared by crushing bare board, which disassembled from electronic components, consist mostly of copper and FR-4(Flame Retardant Level-4) Firstly, a model was established for calculating of detachment points of PCB particles from the rotating electrode in separator. The model of detachment points was derived from equilibrium of force such as gravity force, centrifugal force, electrostatic force. The trajectories of particles after detachment was calculated by acceleration derived from time-integrating method of motion equation. In this simulation, particle size, supplied voltage, rotation speed of rotating roll electrode and angle of induction electrode were adopted as variables. While the trajectories of FR-4 particles were affected by all variables, rotation speed of rotating roll electrode was dominant variables affecting trajectories of copper particles.

For a vertical atmospheric aerosol distribution measurement, a very compact and light particle sampling package is developed. This package includes a compact optical particle counter (Hy-OPC), a light and small condensation particle counter (Hy-CPC), sensors (GPS, wind velocity, temperature, humidity), and a communication and system control board. This package is attached to He balloon and the altitude is controlled by a winch. Using this system the vertical particle size distribution was measured. The test results showed that the ground base atmospheric particle measurement result may be a lot different from that high above the ground.

The hammer-milled characteristics of waste wood materials such as lumber, plywood, particleboard(PB), MDF and railroad tic were investigated in this study. The physical and mechanical properties of recycled boards according to types of recycled particle and the mixing ratios were also studied. The hammer-milled, waste wood materials had the dimensional distributions suitable for the core layer panicle. Bending strengths of recycled boards (one layer) were shown in order of plywood, PB(laboratory-fabricated with particles used in the PB factory), lumber, tego film-overlaid plywood, MDF, waste railroad tie, PB(factory-made) and LPL-overlaid PB. Cured resin and creosote containing waste wood contributed to dimensional stability of reconstituted boards. Considering the mixing effects between lumber and plywood with recycled PB particle, lumber particle was contributive to bending strength, MOE and internal bond(IB) strength, whereas plywood particle was contributive to dimensional stability. The bending and IB strength of 3 layer boards composing only recycled waste wood particles in core layer of board were in order of lumber, plywood, PB and MDF. On the other hand, the thickness swelling was in order of PB, lumber, plywood and MDF. Bending strength of the 3 layer boards mixed with recycled PB-particle in the core layer had a decreasing tendency, as the mixing ratios of recycled PB-particles increased. The dimensional stability of 3 layer recycled board was improved as the mixing ratio of recycled PB-particle increased same as in one layer. Formaldehyde emission of boards fabricated with recycled PB-particles in the core layer of the PB was in the range of E2 grade (below 5.0mg/l).
