In this study, the indirect correlation of degradation characteristic and flow behavior in the de-NOx catalyst is investigated experimentally. The inner flow behavior in the de-NOx catalyst is varied from turbulent flow to laminar flow and the degradation of the de-NOx catalyst is remarkably affected by the inner flow. The degradation of the catalyst is increased in the upstream region near the inlet because injected turbulent flow enhances the adhesion of ash particle on the catalyst surface. The degradation of the catalyst near the inlet also governs the overall efficiency of the catalyst. The amount of adhered ash particles on the catalyst surface decreases as they progress downstream. This is due to the inner flow transition from turbulent flow to laminar flow.

In this study, we found that it is important to have a specific management of standards which are the $12{\pm}3{\mu}m$ of plating thickness and $2{\pm}1%$ of tuning. To verify these standards, we checked the plating thickness and density of tuning through marginal valuation of each and checked size of a plating particle, adhesion of solder and condition of reflow after a section chief.
Waterborne polyurethane (WBPU) adhesive with varying amounts of dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) was synthesized by prepolymer process and blended with polyisocyanate hardener. The mean particle size of the WBPU dispersion decreased with increasing DMPA content. $^1H$ NMR spectroscopy confirmed the formation of allophanate bonds and biuret bonds due to the reaction of hardener NCO with urethane/urea groups. The optimum NCO content with the greatest adhesive strength was dependent on the total content of urethane/urea groups in the WBPU molecules. The optimum NCO content increased with increasing number of urethane groups (DMPA content). The adhesion strength of WBPU adhesives was maximized at a molar ratio of hardener NCO to urethane/urea of about 0.28.

Using computational modeling, we design a pair of biomimetic microcapsules that exploit chemical mechanisms to communicate and alter their local environment. As a result, these synthetic objects can undergo autonomous, directed motion. In the simulations, signaling microcapsules release "agonist" particles, while target microcapsules release "antagonist" particles and the permeabilities of both capsule types depend on the local particle concentration in the surrounding solution. Additionally, the released nanoscopic particles can bind to the underlying substrate and thereby create adhesion gradients that propel the microcapsules to move. Hydrodynamic interactions and the feedback mechanism provided by the dissolved particles are both necessary to achieve the cooperative behavior exhibited by these microcapsules. Our model provides a platform for integrating both the spatial and temporal behavior of assemblies of "artificial cells", and allows us to design a rich variety of structures capable of exhibiting complex dynamics. Due to the cell-like attributes of polymeric microcapsules and polymersomes, material systems are available for realizing our predictions.

1. Introduction : In microfiltration the transport, deposition and removal of particles control cake formation on a filter. In this connection a new model on cake formation, based on the wall shear stress, was tested here in comparison with experiments of fine particle slurry under Taylor-vortex flow. The model expresses the deposition process for particles as two first-order steps in series of mass transfer and adhesion, and their removal process as a linear relation to the wall shear stress. This embraces characteristics of both dead-end and crossflow filtration. The correlation resulting from fitting to experimental data represented the experimental data reasonably well. This study will be helpful in analyzing fouling in heat exchangers.

High $T_c$ superconducting lines will be applied as key materials in the areas of power transmission line; magnetic levitation of vehicle; magnetic separation; magnetic energy storage and marine propulsion. A combination method of electrophoresis deposition and zone-melting for preparation of YBaCuO tape is proposed. The submicron particle powder of YBaCuO made by sol-gel method is used in the electrophoresis process. A 40∼50 ${\mu}\textrm{m}$ thickness of YBaCuO film on Ag plate could be deposited in about three minutes. After deposition the film is rolled and heat treated in order to increase the density and the adhesion of the film to the Ag plate. Silver(Ag) and lead oxide(PbO) were added in the YBaCuO powder in order to reduce its melting point. The YBaCuO coating with controlled Ag and PbO contents was preliminarily zone-melted at about $945^{\circ}C$.

The bio-complex "reaction pattern in vertebrate cells"(RiV) is mainly represented by characteristic exosome-like particles - probably as reaction products of cells to specific stress. The transcription factor NF-kappaB plays a central role in inflammation. We tested the hypothesis that RiV particle preparations (RiV-PP) reduce cellular adhesion molecule (CAM) expression (ICAM-1, VCAM-1, E-selectin) by the attenuation of NF-kappaB translocation in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). After 4 hours, pre-incubation of HUVEC with RiV-PP before stimulation with TNF-alpha significantly reduced ICAM-1 (65.5${\pm}$10.3%) and VCAM-1 (71.1${\pm}$12.3%) mRNA expression compared to TNF-alpha-treated cells (100%, n=7). ICAM-1 surface expression was significantly albeit marginally reduced in RiV/TNF-alpha- treated cells (92.0${\pm}$5.6%, n=4). No significant effect was observed on VCAM-1 surface expression. In RiV/TNF-alpha-treated cells (n=4), NF-kappaB subunits p50 (85.7${\pm}$4.1%) and p65 (85.0${\pm}$1.8%) nuclear translocation was significantly reduced. RiV-PP may exert an anti-inflammatory effect in HUVEC by reducing CAM mRNA expression via attenuation of p50 and p65 translocation.
The purpose of this work was the producing of a biodegradable poly($\varepsilon$-caprolactone) (PCL) microcapsule and the analyzing of form and features for the manufacturing conditions which could be observed in a prospective drug delivery systems (DDS) through drug release. The effects of different stirring rates, stirring times and concentrations of emulsifier for the diameter and form of the microcapsules were observed using image analyzer (IA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). As a result, the microcapsules were made in wrinkle and spherical forms with a mean particle size of 40~300$\pm$20 $mu extrm{m}$. PCL microcapsules containing drugs were confirmed using FT-IR spectra. The role of interfacial adhesion between PCL and drug was determined by contact angle measurements. The drug release test of PCL microcapsules was characterized by UV/vis. spectra. It was found that the drug release rate of the microcapsules prepared with high concentration emulsifier was significantly fast.

The microcapsules containing rosmarinic acid were prepared in this research. Rosmarinic acid is known that it is effective to care the winkles. Chitosan was used as a wall material, and glutaraldehyde was used as a crosslinking agent, and the microcapsules were prepared by the water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion method. In this method Span80 was used as an emulsifier, and mineral oil was used as a medium material. Perfectly spherical microcapsules were obtained in the size range of $0.5{\sim}0.9{\mu}m$. The effects of emulsifier concentration and stirring speed on the average particle size and distribution, and encapsulation efficiency were investigated. The release behavior of the microcapsules with different amount of the crosslinking agent and different emulsifier concentrations were also investigated.
In this study, Al5052/CFRP composites were fabricated for an automobile component by compression molding process inside a U-channel mold. Al5052 sheet were treated by sand blasting with two different particle sizes. Accordingly, surface roughness (Ra) values of $4.25{\mu}m$ and $1.85{\mu}m$ were obtained for the treated Al5052 sheets. The effect of surface roughness of Al5052 sheets on the adhesion and mechanical properties of Al5052/CFRP composites have been evaluated. Shear lap test and 3-point bending test were conducted. Results showed that the shear load for the composite fabricated by using the treated Al5052 sheets with Ra value of $1.85{\mu}m$ and $4.25{\mu}m$ were 3 and 5 times higher than Ra value of $0.73{\mu}m$ of the composite fabricated by using the untreated sheet. The bending stress of 200MPa was obtained for the composite fabricated with untreated Al5052 sheets. The bending stress increased to 400MPa when the composite fabricated from treated sheets. However, the bending stress was not influenced by treating condition through sand blasting.
