  • This study aimed to identify the effects of sports participation motives, the involvement in choosing sportswear, and the satisfaction with/perceived importance of sportswear functionality, on customers' repurchase intentions. A total of 185 survey questionnaires were analyzed after surveying 200 female undergraduates in their 20s. The research results are as follows. First, the participation motives for sports were categorized as follows. A factor analysis conducted on 13 questions yielded 4 factors. Factor 1 included consideration about socializing and pleasure, factor 2 privileged ostentation, factor 3 was concerned with enhancing health, and factor 4 was about maintaining appearance. Second, the various effects of different sports participation motives, of the satisfaction with functionality, and of the involvement in buying sportswear on customers' repurchase intentions were analyzed. The intention to repurchase sportswear was considered as a dependent variable, while the motives for participating in sports, the satisfaction with functionality, and the level of involvement were treated as independent variables. A multiple regression analysis using these variables showed that the satisfaction with functionality and involvement in choosing sportswear had a significant impact on the intention to repurchase sportswear. Third, looking at how different participation motives for sports affected the importance of sportswear functionality, the motives related to socializing and pleasure and ostentation, the sub-factors in sports participation motives, significantly increased the importance of comfort. Motives related to enhancing health and maintaining appearance, on the other hand, were found to affect the importance of sports performance. Fourth, a MANOVA was performed to examine the difference in the importance of functionality between those consumers highly involved in sportswear-buying and those less involved. Those with a high level of involvement were found to prioritize sports performance over comfort. Those with a low level of involvement were shown to place a greater emphasis on comfort.

The subjects are the private guards who work for a private guard company in Seoul in 2007, Except the data having inadequate answers among the 200 copies which are collected by stratified cluster random sampling, the data of total 193. The result of reliability analysis check up was here below; Chronbach's ${\alpha}= .835$. SPSSWIN 15.0 program is used for the reliability and correlation analysis of the questionnaire. The followings are the conclusions from this investigation through above methods and procedures. First, leisure motives affect the experience of sports participation; the more relaxational motives are, the less the experience of sports participation is. Second, leisure motives affect the degree of sports participation; the more motives of recognizing competence are, the more the frequency of sports participation is; the more intellectual motives are, the longer the period of sports participation is; the more relaxational motives are, the less the intensity of sports participation is, while the more motives of recognizing competence are, the more the intensity of sports participation is.

Their motives for sport participation and satisfaction of basic psychological desires are reported as variables involving so much in their intentions of persistent participation in the sport activity in which participants of Life Exercise take part. Therefore, a survey research was conducted by aiming at members of yacht foyers' groups and university yacht clubs, 267 copies of the questionnaire in total were used for the analysis. SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 7.0 were used for the processing of the data, and exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and covariance structure model analysis were also applied according to each study objective. The results of the study were as follows: Firstly, there were significant correlations among yacht participants' satisfaction of basic psychological desires, participation motives and intentions of consistent participation. Secondly, yacht participants' satisfaction of basic psychological desires was found to have significant and direct effects on their intentions of persistent participation while haying indirect effects through the medium of their motives for sport participation at the same time. Thirdly, their motives for sport participation had significant effects on their intentions of persistent participation. Fourthly, suggested by the study, the structural equation model of yacht participants' motives for sport participation, satisfaction of basic psychological desires and intentions of persistent participation was found statistically appropriate.

  • The paper aims to investigate the impacts of long-term savings motives on fostering household participation and contribution to savings mechanisms in rural Vietnam. The paper is organized in five parts: introduction, data description, methodology, empirical results, and conclusion. The quantitative methodology is employed and three simultaneous estimation methods, including instrumental variable model, two-step model, and Heckman model are used to test these impacts as well as the robustness of results. In each model, the paper examines the impacts of independent factors on both household participation and household contribution to savings mechanisms. Two sets of independent variables: long-term savings motives (profit-making investment, accumulation for big expenditure, providing for old age, and cost of educations) and control variables (dependency rate, number of people in household, and household wealth) are in each model. A set of dataset of 2,314 households for analysis is obtained from household survey in rural Vietnam. Robust statistical findings indicate that profit-making investment emerged to be the strongest motive fostering household participation to savings mechanisms while other long-term savings motives have little or no impact on fostering household participation to savings mechanisms. In addition, education investment encourages household contribution to savings mechanisms in rural Vietnam.

  • Background: A number of accidents have occurred in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Efforts in reducing accidents have been undertaken through the implementation of safety behaviors. Unfortunately, few studies have examined motives behind unsafe behaviors, such as safety silence motives. This study aimed to observe the motives underlying safety behaviors, namely safety silence motive (SSM) (SSM-relation, SSM-climate, SSM-issue, and SSM-job) and to evaluate the effect of SSM and safety communication on safety participation in different industrial sectors and scales. Materials and Methods: Eighty workers from two industrial sectors and scales of SMEs were involved. They were instructed to fill out a set of questionnaires. A five-Likert scale was used to respond. An independent t test was applied to find any significant differences. The partial least square-structural equation modeling for multigroup was used to develop a model on relations among the variables. Results: The results showed that SSM scores were high in SMEs, and the scores were different across industrial sectors and scales. SSM had a negative influence on safety communication, and safety communication positively influenced safety participation. Conclusion: The study of SSM, safety communication, and safety participation in different sectors and scales should be separated in SMEs.

  • The purpose of this study is to encourage continuous participation in sports and to provide basic data for the promotion of participation in leisure sports. To achieve the purpose, this study conducted factor scaling analysis on participation motives for leisure sports and subdivided them to analyze psychological reactions of participants. As for study methods, this study collected master and doctor's degree theses and academic journals on motives for sports participation that were conducted from 1997 to 2012 from Korean major search engines. On the search engines, a keyword 'motive' was searched first and then studies on participation motive for leisure sports were collected. Key words that appeared when searching 'motive' were combined with other key words and word spacing between them were checked before conducting a literature analysis. The study results showed that participation motives for leisure sports were divided into a participation motive, an internal motive, an external motive, a leisure motive and other motives. It was identified that there were 23 factors for the participation motive, 17 factors each for the internal motive and the external motive, 8 factors for the leisure motive and 57 factors for other motives. It was found out that 76 factors were used to study a participation motive for leisure sports, excluding the factors that have similar or overlapping meaning based on each factor.
