  • For an effective pre-treatment process of a face input image, it is necessary to detect each of face components, calculate the face area, and estimate the rotary angle of the face. A proposed method of this study can estimate an robust result under such renditions as some different levels of illumination, variable fate sizes, fate rotation angels, and background color similar to skin color of the face. The first step of the proposed method detects the estimated face area that can be calculated by both adapted skin color Information of the band-wide HSV color coordinate converted from RGB coordinate, and skin color Information using histogram. Using the results of the former processes, we can detect a lip area within an estimated face area. After estimating a rotary angle slope of the lip area along the X axis, the method determines the face shape based on face information. After detecting eyes in face area by matching a partial template which is made with both eyes, we can estimate Y axis rotary angle by calculating the eye´s locations in three dimensional space in the reference of the face area. As a result of the experiment on various face images, the effectuality of proposed algorithm was verified.

  • Recently, the necessity of establishing the way to diagnose the aging of insulation materials and to predict of insulation breakdown become important. The purpose of our work are to investigate the treeing phenomena with a artificial needle shape void by the charge of partial discharge and acoustic emission pulse in each phase angle area at the same time. We have analyzed the ${\Phi}-Q-n$ pattern and the insulation diagnosis of the samples using statistic operators such as charge magnitude and A.E pulse factor, skweness, kurtosis, G,C. Therefore, the relation between the charge of partial discharge and A.E pulse will be helpful and efficient to predict the breakdown just before the breakdown occure.

  • To investigate the influence of partial discharge(PD) distribution characteristics due to various defects on the power cable joints interface, we used the K-means clustering method. As the result of PD number(n) distribution analyzing on $\Phi-n$ graph, the phase angle($\Phi$) of cluster centroid shifted to $0^{\circ}\;and\;180^{\circ}$ increasing with applying voltage. It was confirmed that the PD quantify(q) and euclidean distance of centroid were increased with applying voltage from the centroid distribution analyzing of $\Phi-q$ plane. The dispersion degree was increased with calculated standard deviation of the $\Phi-q$ cluster centroid. The PD number and mean value on $\Phi-q$ graph were some different by electric field concentration with defect types.

  • The burr worsens the accuracy of a workpiece and decreases a lot of pro- ductivity because it takes so much time and efforts to remove it. In this paper, the height, thickness and size of a drilling burr were derived from the drilling variables of drill diameter, chisel edge angle, web rate =($\Frac{2{\times}\;web\;thickness}{drill\;dia}$) and yielding stress of the workpiece as wel as feed, point angle and helix angle. The theoretical and experimental values of drilling thrust, torque and burr size of the testpiece were analyzed with the method of numerical analysis in a standard drilling condition. The order of choosing the drilling variables for the purpose of controlling the burr size was dealt in this paper with burr forming ratio. The results are as follows: (1) The drill diameter forms 42 percents feed 25 percents point angle 23 percents and web rate, chisel edge angle and gelix angle 5 percents of the partial differential slope of drilling thrust within the usual available ranges of drilling variables. (2) The drill diameter forms 55 percents feed 26 percents web rate 9 percents and chisel edge angle, point angle and helix angle 10 percents of the par- tial differential slope of drilling torque in the usual available ranges of drilling variables. (3) About 70 percents of the burr size can be controlled by feed, 29 percents by web rate in the case of a fixed diameter. It is recommended drilling10 variables to be chosen in the order of feed, web rate, drill diameter, point angle, chisel edge angle and helix angle so as to control the burr size effectively.

  • Mandibular fractures have higher incidence rate compared to facial bone fractures because of relatively prominent form. Specially, mandibular angle fractures were known as common fracture site because of morphological anatomic structure. The mandibular third molar appears to be the most frequent impacted tooth. The mandibular third molar have influence on mandibular angle fractures according to it's eruption state. Also, the mandibular angle fracture including the third molar may influence on post operative infection whether the third molar is in impacted or extracted state when reduction of fracture site is operated. The presence or absence and degree of impaction of the mandibular third molar were assessed for each patient and were related to the occurrence of the mandibular angle fracture. The extraction or non extraction of the mandibular third molar were related to the occurrence of the post operative infection in the reduction of mandibular angle fractures. In the presence of mandibular third molar, the possibility of mandibular angle fractures were relatively common. When viewing the mandibular third molar at occlusal plane, the possibility of mandibular angle fractures were high in the class C group. The possibility of mandibular angle fractures were high in the mesial angulation and partial impaction. There was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). In complete erupted mandibular third molar, the possibility of post operative infection occurs quite often, but there was no statistical significant difference(P>0.05). In the extracted or non extracted of mandibular third molar, the post operative infection showed no statistical significant difference(P>0.05). With the results mentioned above, mandibular third molar was significantly more susceptible to mandibular angle fracture. In the reduction of mandibular angle fracture, it was recommended that mandibular third molar should be extracted especially in case of pericoronitis, periodontitis and other infections.

  • Shear strength parameters obtained from filed survey are important factors in the analysis of slope stability. In this study, sensitivity analysis was performed to evaluate the effect of input parameters on the analysis of slope stability. The input parameters selected for sensitivity analysis were slope angle, cohesion, and friction angle. Monte-Carlo Simulation method was used for calculating input parameters and the factor of safety was computed by means of limit equilibrium method. A rock slope, which has failed in the field, was used for the sensitivity analysis in the analysis of slope stability. The result of analysis shows that the factor of safety of the rock slope was a little low. From partial correlation coefficient(PPC) of input parameters determined from the sensitivity analysis, slope stability was dependant on cohesion and slope angle. The effect of friction angle was lower than that of cohesion and slope angle on slope stability.

  • This paper pursues a comparative study on the design and function of the ready-made Bo-Son and the Bo-Son Pattern based on teaching and learning materials. It intends to investigate whether the Bo-Son is designed to suit to Kinetics of foot or to give the ease of wearing and taking off. The following results came out through trial wearing. 1) The Bo-Son pattern suggested in teaching materials can not satisfy the wearers with partial modification due to design problem. On the other hand, the ready-made Bo-Son can satisfy them with partial modification. 2) The important factor in designing the pattern of Bo-Son is the posture of foot when putting on it, that is, the height of the heel of the foot from the floor, the length of the heel, the length of toe and the bending angle of toe. 3) As a result of this study, in the design of the improved Bo-Son pattern, it is most suitable when the size of foot is 230mm, the height of the heel of the foot is 12.5cm, and and angle of the front toe of a sock is 35$^{\circ}C$.

  • To estimate a electrical performance of the extra high voltage XLPE cable the discharge properties due to shift of void position were investigated. The ${\phi}-q-n$ properties have been measured at room temperature by rising voltage ratio of 0.5[kV]. An obtained data was stored to personal computer through A/D converter. The period of applied wave form and discharge values were divided into 64 parts and discharge values generated during 10 seconds were accumulated by phases. As a result, it was confirmed that the charge, phase angle and counts of discharge changed due to void position.
