Objectives This case study was about a Taeeumin patient with advanced Parkinson's disease diagnosed as Dry-heat symptomatic pattern. In this study, we reported significant improvement of motor and non-motor symptoms of this patient after Sasang constitutional medicine treatment. Methods The patient was diagnosed with Taeeumin Dry-heat symptomatic pattern and treated with Taeeumin's constitutional medications and acupuncture. The primary outcome measure for this study is Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS) to assess the overall function of patient. Secondary outcome assessments include Global Assessment Scale(GAS), change of patient's sleep, stool and urine. Results and Conclusions The patient treated with Taeeumin's constitutional medications and acupuncture had reduction in UPDRS (specifically Part II, Part III and Part IV) and GAS of motor symptoms. Furthermore, patient's sleep, stool and urine were reported to be normal after treatment. In conclusion, this study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for Taeeumin patient with Advanced Parkinson's disease diagnosed as Dry-heat symptomatic pattern.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the health care experiences among patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods: Of the qualitative research methods, Colaizzi's phenomenological method was used in this study. A total of nine patients, who were diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and receiving outpatient treatment, were selected as the subjects of this study. Subsequently, data were collected through individual in-depth interview. Results: The four categories obtained as a result were 'strenuous efforts to control my own body,' 'subject of health that no one can replace,' 'focus on the current while expecting a breakthrough in health management,' and 'human dignity that cannot be lost to the end.' Conclusion: The study results are expected to help health care providers deeply understand the experiences in health care among patients with Parkinson's disease and to provide source data for nursing intervention development that can be helpful in managing the health status of patients with Parkinson's disease.

파킨슨병은 3대 노인성 질환 중 하나로 인구 고령화에 따라 전 세계적으로 발병률이 증가하고 있으며, 질병이 진행될수록 시간적·경제적인 비용이 높아지기 때문에 병의 진행정도를 파악하는 것과 초기에 진단해내는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 스마트폰을 이용하여 파킨슨병을 조기 진단(Pre-Screening)할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고자 하였다. 개발한 어플리케이션의 콘텐츠들은 탭핑(Tapping), 떨림(Tremor), 나선형 그리기(Spiral Drawing), 보행(Gait)으로 구성되어 있으며, 통합형 파킨슨병 평가척도(Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale)의 Part III(운동성 검사)를 기반으로 하였다. 이를 활용하여 파킨슨병의 운동성 증상으로 알려져 있는 서동증(Bradykinesia), 진전(Tremor), 자세 불안정(Postural Instability)에 대한 정량적인 진단이 가능하며, 증상의 진행 정도에 대한 모니터링이 가능하다. 이러한 방법은 파킨슨병 진단 및 치료에 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

As society ages, the seriousness of Parkinson's disease in the elderly increases. This study was performed in order to evaluate the effect of Korean medical treatments on Parkinson's symptoms. An elderly patient was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease by clinical symptoms, which were resting tremor, pill-rolling tremor and mild bradykinesia. We treated her disease with Korean medical treatment, including herbal medicine and acupuncture therapy and excluding western medication. For the herbal medicine, Insamyangyeong-tang (人參養榮湯), Bobi-tang (補脾湯), Dokhwaljihwang-tang (獨活地黃湯) and Sipimijihwang-tang (十二味地黃湯) were primarily used. In result, the clinical symptoms, measured by unified Parkinson's disease rating scale (UPDRS) and modified Hoehn and Yahr stage (H-Y stage), of Parkinson's disease in this patient had improved after the Korean medical treatment. This study suggests that Korean medical treatments can be applicable to improve symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease.

Objectives : In order to find Sasang constitutional therapies on Parkinson's disease and to make a fundamental basis for clinical application, this study was performed. Methods : We recruit thirty five person as the disease group and we test them by QSCCII. also, We estimate them by UPDRS scale. Results : In the distribution of sasang constitution among parkinson's disease patients and controls, we can know that in the distribution of sasang constitution among parkinson's disease patients, Taeumin has a large division. but we don't find out significantly difference statistically. In the distribution of UPDRS Std. score of sasang constitution, we find out significantly difference statistically. Conclusion : Unfortunately, we fail to lead significantly difference statistically in the sasang constitution among parkinson's disease patients and controls. But, in the distribution of UPDRS Std. score of sasang constitution, we fine out significantly difference statistically. Consequencely, it is necessary that further study on the theme in the more sample.

노년기 3대 질환 중 하나인 파킨슨병은 환자의 70 % 이상이 음성 장애를 앓고 있으며 최근 음성 신호를 통한 파킨슨병의 진단 방법들이 고안되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 음성 특징을 이용한 심층 잔류 순환 신경망 기반의 파킨슨병 진단 방식을 제안한다. 제안하는 방식에서는 파킨슨병 진단을 위한 음성 특징을 선택하고 이를 심층 잔류 순환 신경망에 적용하여 파킨슨병 환자를 식별한다. 제안하는 심층 잔류 순환 신경망은 심층 순환 신경망에 잔류 학습 방식을 결합한 알고리즘으로 파킨슨병 진단에서 기존의 식별 알고리즘보다 더 높은 인식률을 보인다.

Objectives: The prevalence of Parkinson's disease is on an upward trend along with an increase in the aging population but there is no available treatment that halts the progression of neurodegeneration. This study reports a numerical analysis on Donguibogam and suggests novel herbal drugs, which have never been researched before but found to be deemed effective in this study. Methods: Referring to 71 Korean medicine symptom terms that represent the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, 4170 prescriptions described in Donguibogam were classified into two groups based on whether their main effects were effective for Parkinson's disease or not. Comparing the two groups, the chi-square test was performed to select statistically significant herbs, while the t-test, Wilcoxon test, and descriptive statistics were performed to determine the appropriate dose. Results: One hundred and twenty-seven prescriptions effective for Parkinson's disease were identified. The chi-square test determined 17 herbs that are effective for symptomatic treatment. Among the medicinal herbs, the authors suggest Osterici seu Notopterygii Radix et Rhizoma, Ephedrae Herba, Aconiti Tuber, Myrrha, Sinomeni Caulis et Rhizoma, and Aconiti Kusnezoffii Tuber as herbal candidates that have never been studied for Parkinson's disease. Through the statistical tests, it was judged that the mean value of the dose of the entire prescription was the appropriate dose for each herb. Conclusions: Seventeen herbs were selected for Parkinson's disease and the appropriate daily dose were calculated. Furthermore, this study presented a new process that applies a statistical method to traditional medical literature and preselecting herbs deemed effective for specific diseases.

Objectives The aim of this study was to examine significant improvement of motor and non-motor symptoms after treatment with Sasang constitutional medicine treatment on a Soyangin patient with early-stage Parkinson's disease. Methods The patient was treated with Soyangin's constitutional medications (herb and acupuncture) and scalp acupuncture. The progress was evaluated using the Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) before and after treatment. The UPDRS was used to assess the overall function of patient. Results We observed a significant improvement in patient's motor and non-motor symptoms using UPDRS. The UPDRS score decreased in Part I, Part II, and Part III. Conclusions This study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for Soyangin patient with early-stage Parkinson's disease.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to address a case of a Parkinson's disease with anorexia and nausea. Methods: A patient diagnosed with Parkinson's disease with anorexia and nausea was treated with Korean medicine therapies including herbal medication (Hyangsayukgunja-tang), acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and moxibustion for 7days. To evaluate the therapeutic effect, we used a visual analogue scale(VAS). Results: After the treatment, the VAS score for anorexia and nausea had decreased. Conclusion: These results suggested that Korean medicine therapies with Hyangsayukgunja-tang have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

The purposes of this study were to present the basic reference data of age and specipic gait parameters for Parkinson's disease patients. The basic gait parameters were extracted from 20 patients of parkinson's disease and 20 healthy control subjects using VICON 512 Motion Analyzer. The temporal gait parameters and kinematic parameters is data of Parkinson' s Disease Patients. The results were as follows: (1) In patients' group, cadence, walking velocity were less than control group (p<.05). (2) In patients' group, maximum flexion of hip, maximum adduction of hip and maximum flexion of the knee were less than control group (p<.05). (3) In patients' group, maximum varus of the knee were more than control group (p<.05).
