This study was conducted by survey and inspection of stair passage leading lights in shopping buildings which are more than 5 stories and have an underground parking lot located at Pyeongtaek-si and Seongnam-si. Number of shopping building for this study is 30 and of stair passage leading light inspected by two lights in each shopping building is 60. The result of this study is that the type of installed leading lights is LED(77%), and 60% of leading lights has problem such as no cleaning, scratch and discoloration, etc. The height of installed leading lights meets the fire law which is less than 1m from the floor. Visible condition of leading lights is good except some leading lights which have a little visible problem due to banner advertisement. 37% of standby power has flickered and went out. 93% of total leading lights meets the fire law which is more than 1lux from 0.5m distance, but cold cathode fluorescent lamps(CCFLs) have the problem which not meets proper brightness level based on fire law. In additional measurement result, zero lux of leading lights is 32%(from 1m distance), 68%(from 1.5m distance) and 98%(from 2m distance). Leading light is very important facility because it is eyes and guide when emergency. Therefore, proper fire facility operating function inspection and total detailed inspection are important to keep the good condition of leading light except simple visual check, and also improvement in law system of type approval, fire construction inspection and illumination level will be needed.

This research was completed to provide fundamental data regarding the guidelines to installing and managing utility facilities & structures in wetland protected area to advance the functions and sustainable use of ecology services by preserving the ecology within wetland protected area. There were 5 on-site researching areas that were used as the main subject with these areas chosen and considered from 21 inland wetlands that have been designated and are being managed from the Ministry of Environment and by their designated dates as a wetland protected area. The utility facilities in these wetland areas were categorized by their types and a detailed on-site investigation was proceeded with investigation items chosen whereas these facilities are working by their roles from their location, size, used materials, types, information contents and etc., The results showed that regarding informational structures, several locations of information boards were distanced from the main exploring routes which did not consider the visitor's eye level which had their readability dropped and by sunlight, time lapse and water penetration, many information boards were damaged or corrupted so that it was hard to confirm the information noticed or understanding an image. Insufficient observation and educational structures were installed that considered the ecological characteristics of wild animals and their living conditions. Regarding convenience facilities, there were parking lots that were installed on the fore-land and to decrease non-point solution sources, some parking lots needed to be located in protected lowlands while some facilities' shape and colors did not harmonize with their natural surroundings, creating a sense of awareness, which will need some more consideration. As for safety facilities, they were very insufficient compared to other facilities. This means that additional safety structures are needed so that related personnel can be aware of where a visitor is located when an accident occurs. Protectional facilities strongly needed new structures and a management system to cut off entrances and do surveillance so that visitors do not go into areas outside of the managed areas and bring damages to restricted locations. Research labs needed to expand the use of automatic weather systems and water gauge equipments to build fundamental data regarding floodgates that are intimated to the forming of wetlands. Sensor cameras and other types of monitoring systems are needed to monitor the majority types of animals living in the wetlands as well.
Impermeable surfaces such as transportation land uses including roads and parking lots accumulate high heavy metals and particulate matters concentration especially during dry season which worsens the river water quality and distort the water circulation system during rainfall events. Recently, the government has been promoting policies to install Low Impact Development (LID) facilities such as permeable pavements or grass blocks in parking lots or pavements. However, transition of asphalt-paved surfaces to permeable pavement generated asphalt wastes which are detrimental to the environment and has cost implications due to its removal and disposal. Therefore this study was conducted to provide a method of constructing a cost-effective permeable pavement to reduce waste generation and cost. In this study, comparative analysis of the water circulation capacity and economic efficiency of the traditional construction method and new method proposed in this study through the lab-scale experiment. The proposed method was to make holes in existing asphalt pavements, layout geotextile fabric and permeable base media such as sand before compaction. After compaction, layout grass blocks on the compacted base media then layout sand in between each grass blocks before compaction. Apparently, there was no significant difference between the traditional installation method of permeable pavement and the proposed method in this study considering surface runoff, infiltrated volume, stored volume, and rainfall-runoff delay time. The proposed method in this study generated 86% less wastes compared to the traditional installation method and has 70% cost reduction considering asphalt removal and disposal. The construction method proposed in this study yielded similar performance compared to the traditional installation method and water circulation effect, but was proven to be less complicated and economical.
Seoul city is publishing new plans to increase modal share rate of bicycle every year, such as, maintaining bicycle related facilities. But bicycle's modal share rate in Seoul stayed same for the last decade and people are still facing difficulties using bicycle related facilities. These problems are causing bicycle usage as connecting transportation of public transit to decrease. This study looked at the high bicycle modal countries, such as, Netherlands, Germany and Japan to find applicable solutions by analyzing cases and comparing them with cases of highly populated subway station of Sindorim in Seoul. For example, in Germany and Netherlands there is bicycle-parking system to help bikers to access subway easier, in Japan there is underground bicycle parking tower to safely keep high volume of bicycles with in small space. For Seoul city to increase its modal share rate, they should look at problems from users' prospective and solve it by fixing it and improving the services, not by making more facilities.
In Total Water Pollutant Load Management System of Korea, unit load approach based on land register data is currently used for the estimation of non-point pollutant load. However, a problem raised that land register data could not always reflect the actual land surface coverages which determine runoff characteristics of non-point pollution sources. As a way to overcome this, we tried to establish quantitative relationships between the aerial images (0.4m resolution) which reflect actual land surface coverages and the land registration maps according to the 19 major designated land-use categories in Kyeongan watershed. Analyses showed different relationships according to the land-use categories. Only a few land-use categories including forestry, road and river showed essentially identical and some categories such as orchard, parking lot and sport utility site showed no relationships at all between image data and land register data. Except for the two cases, all the other categories showed statistically significant linear relationships between image data and land register data. The analyses indicate that using high resolution aerial maps is a better way to estimate non-point pollutant load. If the aerial maps are not available, application of the linear relationships as conversion factors of land register data to image data could be an possible option to estimate non-point pollutant loads for the specific land-use categories in Kyeongan watershed.

This paper actually investigates the load on major large-scale buildings in the downtown area, examines the economic feasibility of installing PV and ESS in a microgrid target building, and evaluates whether an electric vehicle capable of V2G through two buildings is effective as an economical analysis program (HOMER) was analyzed using. It is economical to install a mixture of ESS rather than using the whole PV, and it is shown that if there is an electric vehicle using the V2G function of EV, there is an economic effect to replace the PV. So that Incentives and policies are needed to replace a large area of PV and utilize the existing parking lot to lead EV as a resource of the microgrid. Currently, P2X technology that stores power as ESS or converts it to other energy to control when surplus renewable energy occurs in large-capacity solar power plants and wind farms, etc. This is being applied, and efforts are being made to maintain the stability of the system through the management of surplus power, such as replacing thermal energy through a heat pump. Due to the increase in electric vehicles, which were recognized only as a means of transportation, technologies for using electric vehicles are developing. Accordingly, existing gas stations do not only supply traditional chemical fuels, but electricity, and super stations that also produce electricity have appeared. Super Station is a new concept power plant that can produce and store electricity using solar power, ESS, V2G, and P2G. To take advantage of this, research on an urban microgrid that forms an independent system by tying a large building and several buildings together and supplies power through a super station around the microgrid is in full swing.
Ihe purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects the storage type of permeable concrete block paving (ST-PCBP) have on runoff reduction and infiltration increasement at Andong Maskdance Festival Square. This was accomplished using the NRCS-curve number method over the last 10 years. Two different scenarios were developed in this study for low impact development (LID) design. For the $1^{st}$ scenario, the walking path and parking lot were install using the ST-PCBP and runoff from the inline skating rink ($3,808m^2$) and lawn ($11,191m^2$) were routed to the ST-PCBP, but the rooftop runoff flowed into the storm water drainage system. For the $2^{nd}$ scenario, one of the non-structural BMPs, disconnected impervious surface (DIS), was applied so additional runoff from rooftop would enter the ST-PCBP. It was determined that ST-PCBP could significantly reduce surface runoff from the study area and increase infiltration with 71% and 88% of surface runoff reduction and 151% and 215% of infiltration increasement for scenarios 1 and 2, respectively. The effect of LID in the $2^{nd}$ scenario was better than the $1^{st}$ scenario, therefore DIS in conjunction with ST-PCBP could be a more cost-effective LID application.

Cars attaching new license plates are increasing after introducing the new format of car license plate in Korea. Therefore, a car new license plate recognition system is required for various fields using automatic recognition of car license plates, automatic parking management systems and arrest of criminal or missing vehicles. In this paper, we proposed an intelligent new car license plate recognition method for the various fields. The proposed method is as follows. First of all, an acquired color image from a surveillance camera is converted to a gray level image and binarized by block binarization method. Second, noises of the binarized image removed by morphological characteristics of cars and then license plate area is extracted. Third, individual characters are extracted from the extracted license plate area using Grassfire algorithm. lastly, the extracted characters are learned and recognized by a fuzzy ART algorithm for final car license plate recognition. In the experiment using 100 car images, we could see that the proposed method is efficient.

Automatic License Plate Detection (ALPD) is a key technology for a efficient traffic control. It is used to improve work efficiency in many applications such as toll payment systems and parking and traffic management. Until recently, the hand-crafted features made for image processing are used to detect license plates in most studies. It has the advantage in speed. but can degrade the detection rate with respect to various environmental changes. In this paper, we propose a way to utilize a Faster Region based Convolutional Neural Networks (Faster R-CNN) and a Conventional Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), which improves the computational speed and is robust against changed environments. The module based on Faster R-CNN is used to detect license plate candidate regions from images and is followed by the module based on CNN to remove False Positives from the candidates. As a result, we achieved a detection rate of 99.94% from images captured under various environments. In addition, the average operating speed is 80ms/image. We implemented a fast and robust Real-Time License Plate Detection System.

Fifteen years after the modernization of traditional markets, commercial facilities and some 1,000 markets across the country contacted arcade operators, there are no specific guidelines on installation standards, exact guidelines for public facilities, and guidelines on law, maintenance and management yet. Therefore, it is necessary to derive a plan that reflects the mindset of the market project and the users as basic planning data for making arcade remodeling of traditional markets more advanced. As a research method, case studies and surveys were conducted and the details are as follows. Through the case study, this study drew suggestions that were available and needed in Korea on the planning plan of arcade space in the developed traditional market and conducted user preference. The survey participants are 150 users of Daegu seomun market. In addition, the survey contents are approached with the concept of remodeling remuneration, so the total number of questions is 47 including 'accessibility', 'comfort', 'openness', 'safety' and 'integrity', which are five elements of the arcade plan. The survey method assessed the importance and satisfaction of each questionnaire on a 5-point scale, and the survey results were compared with technical statistics and means using the SPSS statistics package. The results of user awareness and image survey, in which the installation and remodeling of the ventilation system of the crosshairs are mentioned in the event of fire or in the case of daily ventilation, are important factors in safety. The user-conscious survey, analyzed in 'integrity', indicates that the use of multi-purpose space is required, and that the layout of street stalls and parking and user movements should be integrated. Mac of this study is going to present direction of remodeling plan and behavior analysis by analyzing user preference data for advanced remodeling of arcade in traditional markets.
