  • In this paper, a license plate investigation which is one of parking usage is performed. We survey research that should be given time interval using the camera without the observer. We assigned the investigation time interval to each of to each of the parking car, average parking duration is determined. Parking turnover, the number of vehicles of parking per hour per parking surface, is examined.

A Lighting Control System of Underground Parking Lot Based on Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크 기반 지하주차장 조명제어시스템)

  • Recently, the problem of global warming has issued seriously, so Green IT(Information Technology) using RFID/USN is concerned in order to solve environmental problems. In this paper, we implemented that public area like an underground parking lot could reduce unnecessary energy consumption used by lighting control system based on Ubiquitous Sensor Networks. The lighting control system for underground parking lot is comprised of intersection nodes for watching cars enter and leave, and light node for controlling light. It applies the routing protocol based on hierarchical cluster, hierarchical addressing method, and probability filtering method for the specific place like an underground parking lot. The result after experiments shows that the lighting control system could decrease electrical energy consumption to around 61.7%.

  • This paper describes a novel stereo vision based localization of free parking site, which recognizes the target position of automatic parking system. Pixel structure classification and feature based stereo matching extract the 3D information of parking site in real time. The pixel structure represents intensity configuration around a pixel and the feature based stereo matching uses step-by-step investigation strategy to reduce computational load. This paper considers only parking site divided by marking, which is generally drawn according to relevant standards. Parking site marking is separated by plane surface constraint and is transformed into bird's eye view, on which template matching is performed to determine the location of parking site. Obstacle depth map, which is generated from the disparity of adjacent vehicles, can be used as the guideline of template matching by limiting search range and orientation. Proposed method using both the obstacle depth map and the bird's eye view of parking site marking increases operation speed and robustness to visual noise by effectively limiting search range.

  • This paper presents a parking assistant system of multi-view using vehicle data. Proposed system provides the driver with three direction of the scenes surrounding vehicle. Depending on the handle rotation, the proposed system displays views from multiple wide-angle CCD cameras on the laptop screen to reduce blind spots, support smooth parallel or garage parking, and support comfortable and safe driving. The handle angle and gear position are obtained from ABS ECU through OBD-II port. The performance of proposed system is validated by vehicle experiments.

  • For a integrated system to control several parking lots within a commercial district, it is required to guide a route to a nearest neighbor parking lot considering diverse realtime constraints such as realtime status of parking lots and changes of an access route. This paper proposes an optimized route-searching technique of integrated parking control system considering realtime contraints. In concrete, it proposes a method of researching a route in the surrounding area considering various status of parking lots that a customer designates (no parking, closed, under construction, no passing of a road) and deals with a route-searching technique optimized for each situation in detail.

  • In this paper, a ubiquitous parking management system(UPMS) using sensor network is proposed. Ubiquitous parking management system provides information on free space in the parking lot through PDA or cellular phone connected to wireless LAN. For the implementation of UPMS, we have developed sensor node, sensor application and web server application. The proposed system periodically updates parking space data and monitors in real-time according to the user's request from the personal internet device. Collected parking data are stored onto the database for further analysis. The implemented UPMS system was installed on campus parking lot using 10 sensor nodes and we successfully demonstrated its feasibility by accessing the web server from out of the campus.

  • Due to the development of cities and the increase of vehicles, effective control of parking space management service in cities is needed. However, the existing parking lot management system does not provide limited or convenient service in terms of space and time. In this paper, we propose distributed parking space management service based on large scale LPWA (Low-Power Wide-Area). The parking sensor collects parking space information from the parking lot and is transmitted over a low-power wide network. All parking data is processed and analyzed in the IoT cloud. Through a parking space management service system in all cities, users are given the temporal convenience of determining the parking space and the area efficiency of the parking space.

  • The objective of this research is to establish the relationship between the important variables necessary for real-time available parking space presumption algorithm for a parking lot information provision. So it investigated the variables that come relate to the algorithm and collected parking information for an algorithm plan. It analyzed variables inciuding average number of parked cars, average parked time, rate of turnover, occupancy, cumulative number of parked cars, and etc. of the parking lot. And it collected data regarding illegal parking, double space parking, searching car and it presumed the number of available parking spaces. As a result of the research, It appeared that the achieved accuracy is superier to existing provision system which only take the total input and output numbers. This will help drivers' judgement, and also the parking lot operation and management.

  • In this paper, we show the implementation of the low-cost RF transceiver module for parking control system. Super regenerative receiver scheme was adopted for this module due to its simplicity, low-cost, low power consumption and small number of components to improve reliability of the systems. For improving communication error rate by collision and in-band noise, dual-channel hopping scheme was adopted. Testing prototypes under the environment of simultaneous transmissions, we verified that the designed scheme is able to improve the success rate of data transmission of wireless parking control system cost effectively.
