  • The major challenge in promoting large-scale offshore wind power projects is securing local acceptance. Several recent studies have emphasized the crucial role of local governments in addressing this problem. However, local governments have difficulty in achieving clear results because of the lack of expertise and manpower in offshore wind power projects, making thempassive in promoting these initiatives. In this context, we briefly introduce the case of Shinan-gun, which recently successfully conducted a pre-feasibility study on a large-scale offshore wind power complex led by the local government.

  • Recently, as part of an effort to realize the low-carbon green growth, the research to measure the degree of greening about the road facility with United States as its center was performed. In addition, the Green-road certification is enforced and applied. In this study, we would like to examine the applicability of the green-road certification to domestic road to promote the settlement of green-road certification system to contribute the related industry development for the green technology development and application and spread in the roads sector.

A New Paradigm Shift for the Green Synthesis of Antibacterial Silver Nanoparticles Utilizing Plant Extracts

  • This review covers general information regarding the green synthesis of antibacterial silver nanoparticles. Owing to their antibacterial properties, silver nanoparticles are widely used in many areas, especially biomedical applications. In green synthesis practices, the chemical reducing agents are eliminated, and biological entities are utilized to convert silver ions to silver nanoparticles. Among the various biological entities, natural plant extracts have emerged as green reducing agents, providing eco-friendly routes for the preparation of silver nanomaterials. The most obvious merits of green synthesis are the increased biocompatibility of the resulting silver nanoparticles and the ease with which the reaction can be carried out. This review summarizes some of the plant extracts that are used to produce antibacterial silver nanoparticles. Additionally, background information regarding the green synthesis and antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles is provided. Finally, the toxicological aspects of silver nanoparticles are briefly mentioned.

죽여 추출물로 합성한 금 나노 입자의 특성과 항산화 활성 (Characterization and Antioxidant Activity of Gold Nanoparticles Synthesized using Bambusae Caulis in Taeniam extract)

  • Green synthesis of gold nanoparticles(GNPs) considered more ecofriendly and cost effective than other chemical methods use of dangerous reagents and solvents, improved material and energy efficiency and enhanced design of non-toxic products. In this study, we developed a green synthesis method for using Caulis in Taeniam (BCT). BCT were characterized by UV-vis, Zetasizer, TEM, XRD, and FTIR. The antioxidant activity of BCT was determined by DPPH and ABTS radical-scavenging assays, and heme oxygenase-1 induction in RAW 264.7 macrophages. The resulting BCT appeared spherical with an average diameter of 67.171.39 nm The aAntioxidant activity was increased in a dependent manner. To conclude, the green synthesis of BCT-GNPs was successful, and it appers to be useful in the for future applications.

  • The purpose of this study is to review and evaluate the proper planning for 2030 Incheon Urban Parks & Green Space Master Plan. Some of the plans are aimed at multiple small districts within the city's old town, as local governments are planned to be sub-subsidized by Incheon Metropolitan City. However, these plans have become simple plans for each district and therefore find it difficult to collect from the perspective of the using system of the residents who are directly used. First, the construction of the urban park and green space network requires the construction of a service using system that can be felt by the users. Second, the basic idea of each district planned as the detailed strategy of the master plan should be planned through consultation with nearby the district. Third, specific targets and directions for the urban park and green space plan through the urban development project are needed.

  • Green tea and coffee consumption have been widely popular worldwide. These beverages contain caffeine to activate the central nervous system by adenosine receptor blockade, and due to the caffeine, addiction or tolerance may occur. In addition to this caffeine effect, green tea and coffee consumption have always been at the center of discussions about human health, disease, and longevity. In particular, green tea catechins are involved in many biological activities such as antioxidation and modulation of various cellular lipid and proteins. Thus, they are beneficial against degenerative diseases, including obesity, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and various inflammatory diseases. Some reports also suggest that daily consumption of tea catechins may help in controlling type 2 diabetes. However, other studies have reported that chronic consumption of green tea may result in hepatic failure, neuronal damage, and exacerbation of diabetes, suggesting that interindividual variations in the green tea effect are large. This review will focus on the effect of green tea catechins extracted from the Camellia sinensis plant on type 2 diabetes and obesity, and the possible mechanistic explanation for the experimental results mainly from our laboratory. It is hoped that green tea can be consumed in a suitable manner as a supplement to prevent the development of type 2 diabetes and obesity.

현대패션에 나타난 그린 컬러의 감성이미지 및 선호도 - 부산, 울산, 경남 지역을 중심으로 - (Sensory Image and Preference of the Color Green Shown in Modern Fashion - With Regard to Busan, Ulsan and Gyungnam Area -)

  • After drawing the sensory images from the color green, the difference of sensory images and the difference of the color green according to demographic characteristics and which factors affect the preference have been analysed. The thirty six-photos of 2013 women fashion show on the STYLE.COM were used for the stimuli of green colour fashion for the questionnaire. The people surveyed were adults in their 20s to 50s. The 123 copies of the questionnaire were used for the statistical analysis of this study. Factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ test, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test and Regression analysis test were carried out by SPSS 19 for the statistical analysis of collected data. The results were as follows. The sensory images of green fashion were drawn in six types. The sensory images of green fashion according to demographic characteristics showed a significant difference depending on martial status, age, monthly income and occupation. The preference of green colour fashion according to demographic characteristics showed a significant difference depending on sex, age, monthly income, occupation. The variables affecting the preference of green fashion were identified as four types, and the most affecting variable to the preference was the favorable and familiar factor. These research results will become available on selecting the target customer and making the marketing differentiation strategy when planning fashion products.

커피생두 분말 첨가 식빵의 품질 특성과 항산화 활성 (Quality Characteristics and Antioxidant Activity of Pan Bread with Green Coffee Bean Powder)

  • This study investigated the quality characteristics and antioxidant activities of breads prepared with 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12% green coffee bean powder. Fermentation rate of dough was reduced with increasing green coffee bean powder content. Volume, weight, and specific volume also decreased, whereas pH of breads increased with increasing content of green coffee bean powder. As powder concentration increased, 'L' value of breads decreased, whereas 'a' and 'b' values of breads increased. The hardness of breads increased upon addition of green coffee bean powder, whereas cohesiveness and springiness decreased. Chewiness was not significantly different among the groups. 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity was significantly elevated by addition of green coffee bean powder. In the sensory evaluation, color, flavor and texture were highest in the control group. The sample containing 3% green coffee bean powder had the highest taste score. Overall acceptability was highest in the control group but not significantly different from the control group in breads with 3% and 6% green coffee bean powder.

The Evolution of Green Growth Policy: An Unwelcome Intrusion on Global Environmental Governance?

  • The notion of green growth emerged in 2009. Since then, policy makers and practitioners have largely adopted the term. Although rather intermittently, there have been academic observations on green growth, with the term often being cited as a paradigm and a policy guide for generating new sources of growth. The most important reasons for the surge in green growth today as a new trend and an international agenda item are the rather unsatisfactory results and pitfalls of sustainable development, which has failed at promoting a tangible international environmental principle or a concrete policy framework. Green growth has been proposed as an alternative simultaneously to foster the dynamics of global environmental governance and to reinvigorate the world economy. This study examines to what extent green growth plays a complementary role in existing global environmental governance. Available evidence provides reasonable grounds for arguing that a positive outcome may well be expected from the evolution of green growth architecture and followed by practical policies. It became a global agenda out of a few influential national governments' control. However, decision makers in the leading countries, both developed and developing must be willing to continue implementing what has been discussed and agreed thus far, beyond changes in political leadership and administrations.
