전기비저항에 의한 지중저장 이산화탄소 거동관측 모의실험 (Electrical resistivity monitoring of a scale model experiment for geological $CO_2$ sequestration)

  • Time-lapse electrical resistivity measurements have been made in a scale model experiment for geological $CO_2$ sequestration in aquifer. Three types of $CO_2$ injection are tested in a water tank filled with glass beads. These are $CO_2$ dissolved into filtered tap water, $CO_2$ gas, and mineral oil. The mineral oil is a substitute for liquid phase of supercritical $CO_2$. For reconstructing three-dimensional resistivity images, we measure potential differences at 32 potential dipoles on the top surface of the tank due to two current dipoles on the front and back sides. The resultant resistivity images clearly show the movement of injected $CO_2$ in aquifer.

  • 유도결합 플라스마 질량 분석법(ICP-MS)을 이용하여 음용수 중의 전체비소를 정량하였다. 지하수 및 간이 상수도와 시판되는 먹는 물에 질산을 첨가하여 1%로 산성화한 후에 ICP-MS로 전제비소의 함량을 분석하였다. 그 결과 음용수 중의 전체 비소는 $30{\mu}g/L$ 이하로서 수질 기준치인 $50{\mu}g/L$ 이하의 값을 나타내었다.

  • 최근 고령화 사회가 가속화되며 휠체어 사용이 늘고, 이에 따른 휠체어 사고 또한 증가하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 상황 속에서도 국내 휠체어 시장은 휠체어의 충돌, 넘어짐 사고를 막을 추가적인 기능들의 개발이 미진한 상태이다. 그리하여 본 논문에서는 4차 산업혁명 시대에 발맞추어 휠체어가 장애물을 자동으로 피해가고, 넘어짐이 감지되면 연동 어플리케이션에 알림이 가며 어플리케이션에서 카메라 모니터링이 가능하고, 계단을 오를 수 있는 계단용 바퀴와 자동 조도 감지 센서 전조등의 기능들이 탑재된 지능형 스마트 휠체어를 설계하고 구현하고자 한다. 이에 따라 점차 늘어나는 휠체어 사용자들의 편의를 증대시키고 빈번히 일어나는 휠체어 사고를 막을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 1. Background and Purpose : ${\ulcorner}Dong\;Eui\;Sa\;Sang\;Sin\;Pyun{\lrcorner}$is the one of widely used medical books in the Sasang Constitucional Medicine Academy, but there was not enough study of the author. Through the research of the ${\ulcorner}Won\;Ji-Sang{\lrcorner}$, the Author, We highly intent to utilize the book ${\ulcorner}Dong\;Eui\;Sa\;Sang\;Sin\;Pyun{\lrcorner}$. 2. Methods : We arranged Won Ji-Sang's life style with investigation of the Won Yong-Sa(Won Ji-Sang's daughter), Survivors's verbal evidence and related books. 3. Results and Conclusion : 1) Won Ji-Sang's Childhood Name was "Ill Sang", Pseudonym was "Duck Pil", Pen Name was "Sung Am". He was born in "Bong Yang Myune, Je Chon Gune, Chung Buk" at 1885's June 1st of the lunar calendar and moved to "Yeo Ju Gune, Kyung Gi Do" at 1910's, and passed away in "Nae Sa Ree, Whung Chun Myune, Yeo Ju Gune, Kyung Gi Do" at 1962's June 2'nd of the lunar calender, when he was 78s. 2) The outline of philosophy of Won Ji-Sang's was based of "Wha Seo Doctrinal Faction's ideology", which was connected with Kim Pyong-Muk, Yu Jung-Kyo, Lee Gun-Won, Rue Rin-Suk. 3) ${\ulcorner}Dong\;Eui\;Sa\;Sang\;Sin\;Pyun{\lrcorner}$ was published in 1929's when Won Ji-Sang was 45s. However, we couldn't find out how Won Ji-Sang got to know Sasang Constitutional Medicine, and whether or not he had relation with Dong Mu Lee Je-Ma. 4) Won Ji-Sang's medical experience might be started before he was 45, and real medical treatment began when he was 66.

Effects of Wearing Bio-active Material Coated Fabric against γ-irradiation-induced Cellular Damage in Sprague-Dawley Rats

  • Background: Ionizing radiation causes cellular damage and death through the direct damage and/or indirectly the production of ROS, which induces oxidative stress. This study was designed to evaluate the in vivo radioprotective effects of a bio-active material coated fabric (BMCF) against ${\gamma}$-irradiation-induced cellular damage in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Materials and Methods: Healthy male SD rats wore bio-active material coated (concentrations in 10% and 30%) fabric for 7 days after 3 Gy of ${\gamma}$-irradiation. Radioprotective effects were evaluated by performing various biochemical assays including spleen and thymus index, WBC count, hepatic damage marker enzymes [aspartate transaminase (AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT)] in plasma, liver antioxidant enzymes, and mitochondrial activity in muscle. Results and Discussions: Exposure to ${\gamma}$-irradiation resulted in hepatocellular and immune systemic damage. Gamma-irradiation induced decreases in antioxidant enzymes. However, wearing the BMCF-30% decreased significantly AST and ALT activities in plasma. Furthermore, wearing the BMCF-30% increased SOD (superoxide dismutase) and mitochondrial activity. Conclusion: These results suggest that wearing BMCF offers effective radioprotection against ${\gamma}$-irradiation-induced cellular damage in SD rats.

Chemical Fungicides and Bacillus siamensis H30-3 against Fungal and Oomycete Pathogens Causing Soil-Borne Strawberry Diseases

  • Chemical and biological agents were evaluated to inhibit Colletotrichum fructicola, Phytophthora cactorum, and Lasiodiplodia theobromae causing strawberry diseases. Mycelial growths of C. fructicola were gradually arrested by increasing concentrations of fungicides pyraclostrobin and iminoctadine tris (albesilate). P. cactorum and L. theobromae were more sensitive to pyraclostrobin compared to C. fructicola, but iminoctadine tris (albesilate) was not or less effective to limit P. cactorum or L. theobromae, respectively. Bacillus siamensis H30-3 was antagonistic against the three pathogens by diffusible as well as volatile molecules, and evidently reduced aerial mycelial formation of P. cactorum. B. siamensis H30-3 growth was declined by at least 0.025 mg/ml of pyraclostrobin. The two fungicides additively inhibited mycelial growths of C. fructicola, but not of P. cactorum and L. theobromae. B. siamensis H30-3 volatiles led to less growth of C. fructicola than one reduced by the fungicides. Taken together, in vitro antimicrobial activities of the two fungicides together with or without B. siamensis H30-3 volatiles may be cautiously incorporated into integrated management of strawberry diseases dependent on causal pathogens.

컴퓨터 인터페이스와 센서를 이용한 화학 탐구 실험 연수 프로그램의 실기와 평가 (A Practice and Evaluation of New In-Service Training Program for Science Teachers about Computer Inquiry Experiments Using Interface and Probes in Chemistry)

  • 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 인터페이스와 센서를 이용하는 화학 탐구 실험 교사연수를 실시한 후 연수 프로그램을 평가하였다. 이 프로그램의 목적은 교사들의 컴퓨터와 프로그램의 사용 능력 개발뿐아니라, 화학 탐구 학습 능력을 배양하고 화학 개념의 이해를 중진시키??위한 것이다. 먼저, 컴퓨터 인터페이스와 여러 가지 센서를 이용하는 10개 실험으로 구성된 연수 프로그램을 9명의 교사를 대상으로 사전 실험을 실시하여 문제점을 보완하였다. 그 다음 27명의 교사를 대상으로 하루에 3시간씩 5일간 연수를 실시하였다.연수 후 프로그램을 평가하기 위한 설문조사를 통해 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다:(1) 교사들은 내적인 동기를 가지고 자발적으로 참여하였다.(2) 연수의 내용 수준이 적절하였고, 강의의 전문성 및 연수환경 등이 충측되었다.(3) 컴퓨터 활용능력, 화학 개념 이해 및 탐구기능 습득, 탐구 지도 능력의 함양에 대해 모두 긍정적이었다.(4) 대부분의 교사들이 현장에서 컴퓨터와 인터페이스를 이용한 탐구실험의 활용에 긍정적이었다.

Novel Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms of SOHLH2 in Korean Patients with Premature Ovarian Failure

  • SOHLH2 is a novel germ cell-specific transcription factor that is crucial for folliculogenesis in the ovary and spermatogenesis in the testis. SOHLH2 represents a candidate gene for infertility with premature ovarian failure. We analyzed whether mutations in the SOHLH2 gene in 98 Korean women with premature ovarian failure. The sequence analysis identified six novel SNPs (c.431-41G>C, c.656A>T, c.1000+27C>T, c.1000+33G>T, c1258-106G>A, and c.2094+ 11T>C) from Korean patients with premature ovarian failure. The c.656A>T found in exon 7 results in change of an amino acid, tyrosine to phenylalanine. Functional mutations in SOHLH2 gene are rare in Korean women with premature ovarian failure.

시추공간 레이다 측정에서 전자기 도파관 효과의 수치모델링 (Numerical modelling of electromagnetic waveguide effects on crosshole radar measurements)

  • 시추공 지중레이다 고주파수 전자기파 전파와 관련된 현상은 복잡하다. 그 물리적 과정을 보다 잘 이해하기 위해서 본 연구에서는 원통좌표계에서 맥스웰방정식의 유한차분 시간영역 해를 이용하였다. 이 방법은 시추공간 레이다탐사에서 전자기파의 전파형을 모델링할 수 있다. 그리고 원통좌표계는 계산 효율이 높고, 파동장의 3 차원적인 기하학적 확산을 정확하게 계산할 수 있으며 또 작은 크기의 시추공을 이산화할 때 효과적이다. 수치계산 결과를 통해 물로 채워진 시추공은 전파 파형에 영향을 주는 강한 도파관 효과를 일으킬 수 있으며, 그 도파관 효과는 시추공의 크기와 안테나의 길이에 의존한다.

간호대학생의 임상시험교육프로그램 참여에 따른 임상시험에 대한 인식과 지식 비교 (Student Nurses' Recognition and Knowledge regarding Clinical Trials after a Clinical Trial Education Program)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate recognition and knowledge regarding clinical trials, in particular, after a clinical trial education program (CTEP) among student nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design of 215 student nurses at a university in Seoul was used with structured questionnaires. Results: Respondents had a high level of need for clinical trial and moderate levels in favorable image, safety, and need for education regarding clinical trial. The respondents who had participated in the CTEP felt the clinical trial more favorable and safer than those who did not. However, there were no significant differences in necessity of clinical trials and need for education regarding clinical trial between the CTEP participation and no participation groups. Respondents had a high level of knowledge about clinical trial, even though half of the respondents misunderstood that the physician can convince the subject to participate in clinical trial. There was no significant difference in knowledge level between groups. One third of the respondents had an intention to work in the area related to clinical trial because of aptitude or future prospect. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrated that the CTEP might have an effect on student nurses' recognition rather than knowledge. The CTEP should be therefore developed targeting specific areas of misconceptions and recognition changes.
