This study was conducted in order to develop a Children's Playfulness Rating Scale(CPRS) and to analyze it in terms of item discrimination, validity, and reliability. The participants in this study consisted of 861 parents whose children were aged from three to six years old. The item discrimination, determined by comparing the highest and lowest group using ${\chi}^2$, Cramer's V, was found to be satisfactory. The reliability of factors, as measured by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, ranged from .85 to .95. The results of factor analysis identified 4 factors and 35 items were then selected from the 45 items in the original scale. The four factors identified were as follows; (1) leading participation (2) cognitive flexibility (3) expression of joy (4) voluntary full immersion. Concurrent validity was also established by using correlations between the CPRS and CPS(Children's Playfulness Scale). In conclusion, these results demonstrated that the Children's Playfulness Rating Scale is both reliable and valid.
The purpose of this study was to understand the consumption of adolescents by investigating the influences on their clothing purchasing influence and the effects of family communication and clothing interest. The questionnaires used for the were conducted for this study analysis was and were distributed to four Middle schools and two High schools which were located in Seoul. and 576 responses questionnaire were used for data analysis. Using SPSS package, factor analysis, reliability, Pearson correlation, regression, ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range test, and t-test were applied. The study results of this study are as follows: First, the influence of clothing purchasing influence of adolescents was higher than the parents' purchasing influence. Second, there were negative correlations between two levels of family communication, controlled and opened communication. But, but positive correlations between controlled communication and clothing interest, and between clothing interest and purchasing influence there were positive correlations. Third, there were partially significant differences among demographic factors and levels of communications, clothing interest and purchasing influence. Fourth, for male students social status, opened communication, and clothing interest had an effect on purchasing influence for male students and for female students clothing interest and both controlled and opened communication influenced were affecting purchasing influence for female students.
Humor is an essential ability in young children's life. That is why humor has relation with cognitive development, and humor is the effective factor of attachment, social relationship, and positive self-concept for young children. For this study, the picture books written and illustrated by Mo Willems, Caldetcott Honor Medal winner, were chosen and analyzed. Mo Willems' five winning works were analyzed according to the five elements of humor from Bergson's comic theory. As results, the picture books of Mo Willems include the elements of humor, such as shape, movement, situation and language, and personality. This results suggest that the "adaptive" humor in picture books of Mo Willems should have an educational power to develop a sense of humor to young children, parents, and teachers.
The paraoxonase (E. C. 3.1.1.2) is a major enzyme to detoxicate the organophosphorus and carbamate which are the most widely used as the agricultural spraying insecticides. To investgate the distributions of plasma paraoxonase activity and the factors affecting the enzyme activity, the plasmas of 945 Korean rural population were analysed with the modified Krisch's direct sphectrphotometry method. Three indices of the enzyme activity - basal activity, stimulated activity (by NaCl), % stimulation - were obtained from the analysis. Three indicies suggested unimodal distributions, so we couldn't identify the low activity group risk group to organophosphorus & carbamate insecticides poisoning. There is no significant relation between 3 actvity indicies and sex, age, or history of insecticide use (p>0.05). The basal activity and the stimulated activity have significant relationship and high coefficient of determination with the activities of their parents ($r^2$=0.30, 0.24 ; p<0.05), but the % stimulation does not ($r^2$=0.02 ; p<0.05). These results suggest that the activity of paraoxonase is determined mainly by the genetic factor.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop the Korean Somatization Scale for Children (KSS-C) and to evaluate the reliability and validity of this scale. Methods: Sixty-five children and adolescents with somatic symptoms were evaluated the KSS-C, Child Version, the Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC). 65 parents of the subjects evaluated the KSS-C, Parent Version and Korean version of the Child Behavior Checklist (K-CBCL). Psychometric properties and associations with the internalizing symptoms were. Results: Three factors were extracted by factor analysis. KSS-C was significantly correlated with the CDI, the STAIC, and the internalization, externalization and somatization scale of the K-CBCL. The KSS-C, Parent Version was significantly correlated with the KSS-C, Child Version. Frequently reported somatic symptoms in children were fatigue, headache, low energy, stomachache, and nausea. Conclusion: Both KSS-C, Child Version and KSS-P, Parent Version were valid and reliable instrument assess somatic symptoms in Korean children and adolescents.
The purpose of this study was university student's preference for own house in future according to gender. This was the investigation of which 512 university students in Jeollabukdo province. In this statistical analysis, SPSS 11.5 program was utilized to calculate percentage, mean and standard deviation. Also, these materials were verified by factor analysis, t-test and $x^2$-test. The results of this study were as follows: The university students' future housing environment preferences has been appeared to be higher in the environmental equipment and the natural scenery. In the case of the gender variables was appeared to be higher for female than male students. The future housing area most of the university students wanted the medium city or over, $25{\sim}33\;p'y{\breve{o}}ng$ apartment, 3 bed rooms, 2 bathroom. In case most students have a yard in their future house, they'd like to grow lawn and trees. Also, they wanted to live in a short distance with their future parents-in-law. Therefore, It was desirable that make a plan based on the results of this study future-residing for the new generation.
Objectives : The aim of the study is to offer basic data that help to reduce dental fear by measuring adult dental fear level with DFS scale. Methods : The subjects were 300 persons including college students in W University and their parents in Jeollabuk-do Province. Data were collected by convenience sampling from May 1 to May 30, 2013. Results : 1. Dental clinic visit provoked pain in 99 people(47.4%). Oral examination and preventive treatment evoked pain in 13 people(6.2%). 2. Women tended to feel much pain than men. Both women and men felt the thrilling fear when a needle pricks the flesh. 3. Respondents having dental caries, gum bleeding, halitosis, shaking tooth, and painful tooth had a higher dental fear level. 4. The direct pain experience(p<0.001) had the greatest influence. The next influencing factor was the insufficient anesthesia(p<0.05). 5. The explanatory power that the pain experience has influence upon dental fear is $R^2$=0.151. Conclusions : The direct pain experience and the insufficient anesthesia experience have the great influence upon patients' dental fear level. Anesthetics and analgesics can be considered as one of the positive methods for pain control.

DNA markers can determine the genotype of many species. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) detection is difficult without sequencing but it becomes easier with sdCAPS method. Here an experiment was performed for developing molecular markers using two SNPs, CSatpB-SNP and CSycf1-SNP, of chloroplast in cucumber plants. Properly designed primers with nucleotide sequences for restriction enzymes proved success of PCR and efficacy of digestion by the restriction enzymes. Then these markers were used to study the genotyping of cucumber breeding lines and cultivars obtained from various sources in respect of their chilling stress response. We confirmed that a U.S. cucumber line, 'NC76' known to possess a nuclear factor for the chilling tolerance showed the chloroplast genotypes related to chilling tolerance. However all Korean cucumber cultivars tested in this study showed the chloroplast genotypes related to chilling susceptibility. In conclusion, to develop chilling tolerant cucumber, both maternal and a nuclear factors related to chilling tolerance should be transferred from 'NC76' when 'NC76' is used as a female source and other elite lines as recurrent parents.
The purpose if this study was to investigate mother' oral health management behavior to their children. Two hundreds sixty seven mothers with elementary school students were surveyed among the residents living of Iksan city, Korea. A questionnaire was constructed and administered to the samples. The research focused in the following items: the subjects' socio-demographic factors such as education level and employment and so on; their knowledge of plaque; the leading causes of caries, regular dental examinations; dental treatment; their interest in their children's dental health; the frequency of the subjects examining their children's teeth; non-cariogenic food preparation, etc. Being based in collected data, mothers' oral health management behavior to their children were analyzed according to maternal socio-demographic factor and result were following. There was a difference in the subjects knowledge of dental plaque in accordance with their employment or unemployment and family income. There was no difference in mother's oral health management behavior to their children according to parents' education level, the subjects' age and family income. Most of mother answered the main reason of dental caries was that their children did not toothbrush their teeth regularly and there was a difference in the understanding of the subjects in accordance with the education level of fathers and family income. The subjects had a low understanding of the effect of preventing caries with the help of fluoride. They didn't have enough understanding of water fluoridation. So it is necessary that active campaigns should be launched to enlighten people in relation to the ways of preventing dental caries with fluoride.
