주의력결핍 과잉행동장애 위험요인에 따른 어머니의 양육스트레스, 우울 및 아동문제행동 간의 관계분석 (Analysis of Relationships between Parenting Stress, Maternal Depression, and Behavioral Problems in Children at Risk for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder)

  • Purpose: In this study differences in behavioral problems between children at risk for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and normally developing children were identified. Further, relationships between parental stress, depression, and child behavioral problems according to ADHD symptoms were explored. Methods: Participants were 222 elementary school children and their parents. The ADHD risk group was determined by the Korean-ADHD Rating Scale. Data were collected using the Korean-ADHD Rating Scale, Korean version of Child Behavior CheckList (K-CBCL), Parenting Stress Index, and Beck Depression Inventory. Data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and regression analysis. Results: 1) The ADHD risk group showed higher levels of behavioral problems, parenting stress, and maternal depression than the normal group. 2) There were significant relationships between ADHD scores and parenting stress (r=.66), maternal depression (r=.35), internal behavioral problems (r=.47), and external problems (r=.55), but, ADHD risk scores were negatively correlated with social competence (r=-.40). 3) The regression analysis revealed that ADHD levels affected the child's internal behavioral problems, mediated by maternal depression ($\beta$=.29, p<.001). Conclusion: The study results show that higher risk scores for ADHD indicate a significant effect for behavioral problems. Also, parenting stress and depression influence child's behavioral problems. These results suggest that identification of children at risk for ADHD and development of parental education programs would contribute to the prevention of behavioral problems and aggravation of the ADHD symptoms.

가족의 기능적 결손 정도가 청소년의 자아존중감, 우울, 자살생각에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Functional Deficiency in Family on Self-esteem, Depression, and Suicidal Inclination of Adolescents)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the structural relationships between functional deficiency of Family and self-esteem, depression, suicidal inclination of adolescents. Methods: The data in this study came from the Korea Youth Panel Survey Data (N=3,449) for 2005~2007. To investigate the causal relationship between each variable presented in the research model, structural equation modeling (SEM) was carried out by using AMOS 7.0. And all data were analyzed by using SPSS/WIN 12.0. Results: The main analytical results of this study were as follows; First, the family function made a positive impact on the self-esteem of adolescents. Second, the severe functional deficiency in family appeared to have a negative effect on the suicidal inclination and depression of adolescents. Third, the higher the adolescents' self-esteem, the lower depression and suicidal ideation. Fourth, the more severe the depression, the higher occurrence of suicidal inclination. Conclusion: In conclusion, functional deficiency in adolescents' family impacted negatively on self-esteem, and this contributed to increased depression and anxiety, and to suicidal inclination finally. These findings confirmed that the strength of family function, the closeness with parents, forming a stable relationship and strength of the emotional bond are very important factors to form self-esteem and reduce depression and suicidal inclination.

부모 양육태도와 청소년의 정서문제 간의 상호적 관계: 종단적 자기회귀교차지연 분석 (The reciprocal relationships between parenting attitudes and emotional problems in adolescence: A longitudinal cross-lagged analysis)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the reciprocal relationship between parenting attitudes (positive and negative) and adolescent emotional problems as indicated by aggression, social withdrawal, and depression. Methods: This study analyzed longitudinal data from 2,325 parents and their children from the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 at three time points over a three-year period (the first to third grade of middle school). Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling was conducted using AMOS 26.0. Results: The results indicated that both parenting attitudes and adolescents' emotional problems were relatively stable over time. In other words, the parenting attitude at a previous point affects the parenting attitude at a later point, and the emotional problem at the previous point continues to affect the emotional problem at the later point. There were no significant cross-lagged effects from both positive and negative parenting attitudes to adolescents' emotional problems. In contrast, adolescents' emotional problems at previous time points positively predicted negative parenting attitudes at later time points. In other words, if there were many emotional problems of aggression, social withdrawal, and depression in adolescents at a previous time, negative parenting attitudes such as rejection, force, and inconsistency at a later time increased. Conclusion: This study can reflect the characteristics of the development of independence in adolescence. Parents should deal with their children's emotional problems based on their understanding of the developmental characteristics of adolescence, and this study provides a strategy for parents to establish appropriate parenting attitudes for adolescents with emotional problems.

사회적 지지가 농촌 조손가족 조모의 심리적 복지에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Social Support on the Psychological Well-being of Custodial Grandmothers in Rural Korea)

  • Family dissolution and economic difficulties of the grandchild's parents are the most prevailing reason for an increase of grandparent-headed families in rural Korea. However, there is a lack of empirical research looking at the experiences of custodial grandmothers, social support, and their psychological well-being. In this regard, this study examined the effect of social support (formal & informal) on the psychological well-being of custodial grandmothers in rural Korea. For this purpose, quantitative and qualitative research methods were conducted. Quantitative data were gathered, using structured questionnaire, from 311 grandmothers who were raising their grandchildren in rural Korea as primary care-givers. Statistical methods used for data analysis were descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression analysis with SPSS WIN 19.0 programs. Qualitative data were collected by in-depth interviews to 10 custodial grandmothers in rural area. The results of this study are as follows. First, almost half of the parents of the grandchild didn't visit and didn't call anymore. Some relatives -aunt, uncle, etc.- support the grandparent-headed family economically and emotionally. 3/4 of the grandparent-headed families were supported by the government and community. This was not small numbers, but the amount of economic support was low. Second, grandmothers in the study showed quite a high level of depression while their happiness level was relatively low. There were differences in the factors influencing the level of happiness/depression of these rural grandmothers. Overall, the study's results showed the importance of formal & informal support for psychological well-being of the custodial grandmothers in rural Korea. Policy and theoretical implications are discussed.

중학교 2학년 남학생의 문제행동에 미치는 영향에 대한 융합연구 (Convergence Study about Factors on Problem Behaviors of Male Students in the Second Grade of Middle School)

  • 본 연구는 중학교 2학년 남학생의 문제행동에 미치는 영향을 주는 요인을 확인하고자 시도되었다. 연구대상은 J도 Y시에 위치한 중학교의 중학생 116명이었으며, 연구도구로는 일반적 특성과 한국형 소아우울척도, 학업 스트레스 검사, 청소년 문제행동 질문지를 포함한 구조화된 설문지가 사용되었다. 자료수집은 17년 9월부터 10월까지 이루어졌으며, 자료분석을 위해 기술통계, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, 그리고 multiple regression이 사용되었다. 본 연구결과 중학교 2학년 남학생의 문제행동에 대한 주요 예측요인은 성적, 부모와의 관계, 친구관계임이 확인되었다. 이는 중학교 2학년 남학생들의 문제행동과 관련하여 관계적인 측면의 중요성을 의미하는 것으로, 따라서 본 연구는 청소년의 건강한 인간관계의 경험 및 형성을 위한 지도방안, 교육방침, 프로그램 개발 등의 필요성을 제시하고자 한다.

뇌졸중 후 편마비를 가진 중년기 환자의 적응과정 (Adjustment of Middle-aged People with Hemiplegia after a Stroke)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the adjustment process of middle-aged people in Korea with hemiplegia after a stroke. Method: For this study, the grounded theory method was utilized. Results: After constant comparative analysis, the core category emerged as 'rebuilding the body which was ruined'. In addition, the causal conditions were 'restriction of physical function', and 'loss of roles'. The adjustment process consisted of the 'facing reality phase', 'overcoming depression phase', 'overcoming physical limits phase' and 'reestablishing roles phase' The main strategies in the facing reality phase were 'holding on to a glimmer of hope', 'getting away from the harsh reality' and 'facing up to the reality'. The main strategies in the overcoming depression phase were 'soothing oneself', 'Self-introspection' and 'restoring self-esteem'. In addition, the main strategies in the self-initiative overcoming physical limits phase was 'discovering personal strategies and striving to recover'. The main strategies in the reestablishing roles phase were 'reestablishing a parents' role', 'reestablishing a spouse's role' and 'reestablishing social roles'. Conclusion: In conclusion, even though many middle aged stroke patients remained in the depression phase, most of them who overcame depression strived to conquer physical limits on their own initiative.

Factors for Suicidal Ideation in Middle School Students by Gender

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the factors of suicidal ideation in middle school students by gender, and to announce the necessity of gaining upon a socio-cultural comprehension-based approach. Methods: Three middle schools were randomly selected from a pool of 21 middle schools in S City, and were stratified by school and grade. A total of 878 students were included in the analysis. Multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify the factors that affect suicidal ideation by gender. Results: Suicidal ideation and depression scores of the female students were over twofold higher than those of the male students. The factor that was found to affect suicidal ideation in the male students was depression while for the female students the factors were visiting suicide-related websites, having friends who attempted to commit suicide, depression, and poor communication with one's parents. Conclusion: The findings in this study support gender differences in suicidal ideation, and suggest that building socio-cultural environments are needed to abate their negative emotions and to help youth find out their reasons to live.

어머니애착이 중학생의 적응에 미치는 영향: 아버지애착의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Influence of Maternal Attachment on Adolescents' Adjustment as Perceived by Middle School Students: The Moderation Effect of Paternal Attachment)

  • Objective: This study examined the influence of maternal attachment on adjustment in adolescence and investigated whether paternal attachment had any moderating effects on the relationship between maternal attachment and adjustment in adolescence. Methods: The participants of this study were 300 second graders from two middle schools in Seoul. We measured paternal and maternal attachment as perceived by the participants, adjustment in adolescence through school life adjustment, depression, and relational aggression. The study applied correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis suggested by Baron and Kenny (1986). Results: First, participants with high parental attachment showed high levels of school life adjustment, low level of depression, and low levels of relational aggression, demonstrating healthy psycho-social adjustment in adolescence. Second, paternal attachment played a facilitating role in the process of high maternal attachment's positive influence on school life adjustment. Third, paternal attachment mitigated the process of low maternal attachment's negative influence on depression. Conclusion: Our findings highlight the importance of emotional communication, support, and intimacy between parents and children in middle school. Furthermore, it emphasized the importance of the paternal role and involvement in the mother-child relationship.

난임여성의 자아존중감, 신체상과 우울에 미치는 영향요인 (Self-Esteem, Body Image and Factors Influencing on Depression of Infertile Women)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 난임여성의 자아존중감, 신체상 및 우울 정도와 그들 변수 간의 관계를 파악하고, 우울의 영향요인을 규명하여 우울 중재를 위한 프로그램개발에 기초 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 대상자의 자아존중감은 평균 $29.08{\pm}5.17$점으로, 일반적 특성에 따른 자아존중감은 연령, 학력, 직업유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대상자의 신체상은 평균 $75.66{\pm}12.11$점으로, 일반적 특성에 따른 신체상은 결혼기간, 학력에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대상자의 우울은 평균 $10.81{\pm}7.84$점으로, 일반적 특성에 따른 우울은 연령, 학력, 가족형태에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대상자의 난임 관련 특성에 따른 자아존중감, 신체상 및 우울은 각각 비용부담감에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 자아존중감과 신체상(r=.688, p=.000)은 유의한 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 자아존중감과 우울은(r=-.710, p=.000) 유의한 음의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 신체상은 우울(r=-.526, p=.000)과 유의한 음의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 우울에 영향을 주는 요인은 자아존중감(b=-0.66, p=.000), 시부모와 동거하는 경우(b=-7.92, p=.001), 연령이 41세 이상인 경우(b=-1.72, p=.033)이었다.

신생아 집중치료실 기반 사별 간호의 문헌고찰 (Bereavement Care for Parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: A Literature Review)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review studies investigating the effect of bereavement care provided for parents in the neonatal intensive care unit. Methods: We conducted a literature review of databases (MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Library, and CINAHL) for studies published in English and four databases (RISS, KISS, NANET, and KoreaMed) for Korean studies. The selection criteria included original articles that evaluated the parents' perceptions or responses to bereavement care provided in the neonatal intensive care unit. Of 889 articles from the initial screening, 66 articles underwent full-text review and five articles were finally selected for analysis. Results: None of the studies was conducted in Korea. Only one study used a randomized control trial design. The forms of bereavement care reviewed included a provision of a memory package, grief information, and emotional and/or social support from peers or health care providers. The effectiveness of bereavement care was measured by including grief, social support, and depression. Conclusion: Bereavement care can be considered to be beneficial for relieving grief reactions and enhancing the personal growth of bereaved parents. Future research should assess the needs of bereaved parents in Korea. Nurses may play a role in developing the bereavement care for parents.
