  • Finite failure NHPP models proposed in the literature exhibit is either constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates per fault. For the sake of proposing shape parameter of the Gamma family distribution, used the special pattern. Data set, where the underlying failure process could not be adequately described by the knowing models, which motivated the development of the Gamma or Weibull model and Gompertz model. Analysis of failure data set that led us to the Gamma or Weibull model and Gompertz model using arithmetic and Laplace trend tests, bias tests was presented in this Paper.

  • The wear debris is fall off the moving surfaces in oil-lubricated systems and its morphology is directly related to the damage and failure to the interacting surfaces. The morphology of the wear particles are therefore directly indicative of wear processes occurring in tribological system. The computer image processing and artificial neural network was applied to shape study and identify wear debris generated from the lubricated moving system. In order to describe the characteristics of various wear particles, four representative parameter (50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) from computer image analysis for groups of randomly sampled wear particles, are used as inputs to the network and learned the friction condition of five values (material 3, applied load 1, sliding distance 1). It is shown that identification results depend on the ranges of these shape parameters learned. The three kinds of the wear debris had a different pattern characteristics and recognized the friction condition and materials very well by neural network. We discuss how these approach can be applied to condition diagnosis of the oil-lubricated tribological system.

  • Turbulent swirling cold-flow in a cyclonic gasifier has been analyzed by numerical analysis. Comparison of two dimensional and three dimensional analyses has shown that concept of equivalent slit is appropriate for the two dimensionalization of three dimensional phenomena. Flow characteristics have been scrutinized by varying swirl number which is a crucial parameter in determining the flow pattern of the cyclonic gasifier. Reactive flow field has been estimated by using theoretical swirl number and equivalent slit width for reactive flow. Results show that proper flow field for the reactive coal gasification can be formed by controlling the exit area and azimuthal location of coal burners.

  • Smart systems in different application areas such as automotive, medical and consumer electronics require a novel manufacturing method of electronic, optical and mechanical functions into products. Traditional methods including mechanical assembly, bonding of plastic and electronic circuit cause the problems in large size of products and complicated manufacturing processes. In this study, thermoforming and film insert molding were applied to fabricate a dome shaped plastic part embedded with electronic circuits. The deformation of patterns printed on PET film was predicted by thermoforming simulation using T-SIM, and the results were compared with those by experiment. In order to decrease spring-back after thermoforming, the Taguchi method of design of experiment was used. Through ANOVA analysis, it was found that mold temperature was the most dominant parameter for spring-back. By using flow analysis, gate design was performed to decrease injection pressure. During film insert molding, the wash-out of ink printed on film occurred for Polycarbonate. When the resin was changed to PMMA, the wash-out disappeared due to low melt temperature.

  • Since inappropriate muscle forces mean that people cannot perform some activities related to roles of the muscle, muscle forces have been considered as an important parameter in clinic. Therefore, many methods have been introduced to estimate muscle forces indirectly. One of the methods is muscle tissue dynamics and it is widely used in commercial softwares including musculoskeletal model, such as SIMM. They, however, need motion data captured from 3-dimensional motion analysis system. In this study, we introduced an algorithm to estimate muscle forces in real-time by using joint angles. The heel-rise movements were performed for a normal with 3-dimensional motion analysis system, EMG measurement system, and electrogoniometers. Joint angles obtained from electrogoniometers and EMG signals were used to estimate muscle forces. Simulation was performed to find muscle forces using motion data which was imported into musculoskeletal software. As the results, muscle lengths and forces from the developed algorithm were similar to those from commercial software in pattern. Results of this study would be helpful to implement a tool to calculate reasonable muscle forces in real-time.

  • This paper is an attempt to use vision-pattern recognition technique to analyzation on a hidden rigid body motion. Specially shaped rod, rigidly connected to the hidden body is extended to the ouside of hiding object so that a camera may catch the motion data. Every motion can be described with translatio and rotation. But translation can be explanied with ratation with a infinitly far centroid. Motion analysis is to find the instantaneous centroid and ratation angle. With this theory jaw motion is analyzed in this paper.

  • We analyze the short-term fading characteristics of received signal in urban microcellular environment. In order to analyze the fading signal, we obtain the fading distributions by distance, the received power pattern by arrival angle and the spatial correlation coefficients of fading signal by spacing distance between two antennas. In addition, we compare the distributions of simulated fading signal with the Rician parameter K in various conditions. As the results, it can be seen that the occuring period of deep fade and fade range in microcell are different as the distance between two antennas;besides, the period of fade and fade range in OBS region occur shortly and deeply as compared with those in LOS region. The data used in analysis are obtained by the simulation program using ray tracing technique.

  • This article develops a nonclassical size dependent nanoplate model to study the dynamic response of functionally graded carbon nanotube (FGCNT) nanoplates under a moving load. Both nonlocal and microstructure effects are incorporated through the nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory. To investigate the effect of reinforcement orientation of CNT, four different configurations are studied and analysed. The FGM gradation thorough the thickness direction is simulated using the power law. In the context of the first order shear deformation theory, the dynamic equations of motion and the associated boundary conditions are derived by Hamilton's principle. An analytical solution of the dynamic equations of motion is derived based on the Navier methodology. The proposed model is verified and compared with the available results in the literature and good agreement is found. The numerical results show that the dynamic performance of FGCNT nanoplates could be governed by the reinforcement pattern and volume fraction in addition to the non-classical parameters and the moving load dimensionless parameter. Obtained results are reassuring in design and analysis of nanoplates reinforced with CNTs.

  • This paper presents a pattern recognition analysis of two spirals problem and optimization of Cascade Correlation learning algorithm using in combination with a non-monotone function as CosExp(cosine-modulated symmetric exponential function) and a monotone function as sigmoid function. In addition, the algorithm's optimization is attempted. By using genetic algorithms the optimization of the algorithm will attempt. In the first experiment, by using CosExp activation function for candidate neurons of the learning algorithm is analyzed the recognized pattern in input space of the two spirals problem. In the second experiment, CosExp function for output neurons is used. In the third experiment, the sigmoid activation functions with various parameters for candidate neurons in 8 pools and CosExp function for output neurons are used. In the fourth experiment, the parameters are composed of 8 pools and displacement of the sigmoid function to determine the value of the three parameters is obtained using genetic algorithms. The parameter values applied to the sigmoid activation functions for candidate neurons are used. To evaluate the performance of these algorithms, each step of the training input pattern classification shows the shape of the two spirals. In the optimizing process, the number of hidden neurons was reduced from 28 to15, and finally the learning algorithm with 12 hidden neurons was optimized.

  • This paper examines the flexure behavior of FRP-concrete composite structure that can replace conventional reinforced concrete structure types. In order to investigate the structural performance and behavioral characteristics in numerical analysis means, ABAQUS, a general purpose finite element analysis program, was utilized for nonlinear finite element analysis, and the various variables and their influences were analyzed and compared with experimental results to suggest values optimized to this composite structure. The concrete damage plasticity model and Euro code for concrete were used. In the implicit finite element analysis, the convergence was ambiguous when geometrical and material nonlinearity were large, so the explicit finite element analysis used in this study was deemed to be appropriate. From the comparison with the experiment about concrete damaged plasticity model, 20mm for the mesh size, $30^{\circ}$ for the dilation angle, $100Nmm/mm^2$ for the value of fracture energy, 0.667 for Kc value, and the consideration of damage parameter were suggested believed to be appropriate. The numerical model suggested in this study was able to imitate the ultimate load and cracking pattern very well; therefore, it is expected to be utilized in research of various new material composite structures.
