It is necessary to measure the solar cell parameter fur understanding characteristic of solar cell and applying to many other fields. Since photovoltaic system consists of solar cell module, which are connected each other in series and parallel, it is not proper to apply a solar cell parameter to photovoltaic system. Therefore, to estimate the solar tell module and to solve the problem of the established algorithm is on demand. In this paper the authors have improved the accuracy of solar cell module Parameter estimation by compensating series and Parallel resistance, and developed a new parameter estimation algorithm, which can be applied to photovoltaic system without high cost measuring equipment. And the validity of proposed algorithm is verified by the simulation and experimentation.
This paper describes the parameter convergence properties of an adaptive system to identify a single-input single-output plant model. It is demonstrated that, by using power spectrum analysis, the persistency of excitation (PE) condition in order to guarantee the exponential stability of the adaptive control system can be transformed into the positive definite behavior for the auto-correlation function matrix of adaptive signal. The existence of parameter nominal values can be analyzed by this condition and the convergence rates of parameter are determined by examining the auto-correlation function. We may use the sufficient richness (SR) of input spectrum instead of the PE condition to analyze the parameter boundedness. It can be shown that the eigen values of the auto-correlation function are always related with adaptive gain, input amplitude and positions or numbers of input spectra. In each case, the variation of parameter convergence rate can be also verified.
This study uses distributed parameter systems as the spatial discretization technique, modelling in lumped parameter systems, and applies fast WALSH transform and the Picard's iteration method to high order partial differential equations and matrix partial differential equations. This thesis presents a new algorithm which usefully exercises the optimal control in the distributed parameter systems. In exercising optimal control of distributed parameter systems, excellent consequences are found without using the existing decentralized control or hierarchical control method. This study will help apply to linear time-varying systems and non-linear systems. Further research on algorithm will be required to solve the problems of convergence in case of numerous applicable intervals.
We have investigated the relationship between the polar anchoring energy and the surface order parameter in nematic liquid crystal (NLC), 4-n-pentyl-4-cyanobiphenyl (5CB), on the two kinds of the weakly rubbed polyimide (PI) surfaces. The observed polar anchoring energy of 5CB is approximately 2${\times}10^{-4}(J/m^2$) and then increases with increasing the rubbing strength (RS) on weakly rubbed surface (RS=57mm) with side chain at $30^{\circ}C$; same results are obtained on weakly rubbed PI surface without side chain. The surface order parameter of 5CB on rubbed PI surfaces increases with increasing the RS at a weak rubbing region. The surface order parameter of 5CB is strongly related to the characteristics of PI material. Consequently, we suggest that the polar anchoring energy of NLC is strongly attributed to the surface order parameter on rubbed PI surfaces.
This paper presents neural load torque observer that used to deadbeat load torque observer and regulation of the compensation gain by parameter estimator. As a result, the response of PMSM follows that of the nominal plant. The load torque compensation method is compose of a neural deadbeat observer. To reduce of the noise effect, the post-filter, which is implemented by MA process, is adopted. The parameter compensator with RLSM (recursive least square method) parameter estimator is adopted to increase the performance of the load torque observer and main controller. The parameter estimator is combined with a high performance neural torque observer to resolve the problems. As a result, the proposed control system becomes a robust and precise system against the load torque and the parameter variation. A stability and usefulness, through the verified computer simulation, are shown in this paper.
It is important to model the mechanical structure precisely and reasonably in predicting the dynamic characteristics, controlling the vibration, and designing the structural dynamics. In the finite element modeling, the errors can be contained from the physical parameters, the approximation of the boundary conditions, and the element modeling, From the dynamic test. more precise dynamic characteristics can be obtained. Model updating using parameter modification is appropriate when the design parameter is used to analyze the input parameter like finite element method. Finite element analysis for free-free-free-free(FFFF) and clamped-free-free-free(CFFF) plate with uniform area and shape change are carried out as model updating examples, Mass and stiffness matrices are updated by comparing test and analytical modal frequencies. The result shows that the updated frequencies become closer to the test frequencies.
This article investigates the longitudinal vibration of a nanorod embedded in viscoelastic medium according to the nonlocal strain gradient theory. Viscoelastic medium is considered based on Kelvin-Voigt model. Governing partial differential equation is derived based on longitudinal equilibrium and analytical solution is obtained by adopting harmonic motion solution for the nanorod. Modal frequencies and corresponding damping ratios are presented to demonstrate the influences of nonlocal parameter, material length scale, elastic and damping parameters of the viscoelastic medium. It is observed that material length scale parameter is very influential on modal frequencies especially at lower values of nonlocal parameter whereas increase in length scale parameter has less effect at higher values of nonlocal parameter when the medium is purely elastic. Elastic stiffness and damping coefficient of the medium have considerable impacts on modal frequencies and damping ratios, and the highest impact of these parameters on frequency and damping ratio is seen in the first mode. Results calculated based on strain gradient theory are quite different from those calculated based on classical elasticity theory. Hence, nonlocal strain gradient theory including length scale parameter can be used to get more accurate estimations of frequency response of nanorods embedded in viscoelastic medium.

In various industries, especially manufacturing and chemical industries, it is often observed that the distribution of a specific process, initially having followed a normal distribution, becomes skewed as a result of unexpected causes. That is, a process deviates from a normal distribution and becomes a skewed distribution. The skew-normal (SN) distribution is one of the most employed models to characterize such processes. The shape of this distribution is determined by the asymmetry parameter. When this parameter is set to zero, the distribution is equal to the normal distribution. Moreover, when there is a shift in the asymmetry parameter, the mean and variance of a SN distribution shift accordingly. In this paper, we propose procedures for monitoring the asymmetry parameter, based on the statistic derived from the noncentral t-distribution. After applying the statistic to Shewhart and the exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) charts, we evaluate the performance of the proposed procedures and compare it with previously studied procedures based on other skewness statistics.
It is of the most urgent necessity to get hydrological time series of long duration for the establishment of rational design and operation criterion for the Agricultural hydraulic structures. This study was conducted to select best fitted frequency distribution for the monthly runoff and to simulate long series of generated flows by multi-season first order Markov model with comparison of statistical parameters which are derivated from observed and sy- nthetic flows in the five watersheds along Geum river basin. The results summarized through this study are as follows. 1. Both two parameter gamma and two parameter lognormal distribution were judged to be as good fitted distributions for monthly discharge by Kolmogorov-Smirnov method for goodness of fit test in all watersheds. 2. Statistical parameters were obtained from synthetic flows simulated by two parameter gamma distribution were closer to the results from observed flows than those of two para- meter lognormal distribution in all watersheds. 3. In general, fluctuation for the coefficient of variation based on two parameter gamma distribution was shown as more good agreement with the observed flow than that of two parameter lognormal distribution. Especially, coefficient of variation based on two parameter lognormal distribution was quite closer to that of observed flow during June and August in all years. 4. Monthly synthetic flows based on two parameter gamma distribution are considered to give more reasonably good results than those of two parameter lognormal distribution in the multi-season first order Markov model in all watersheds. 5. Synthetic monthly flows with 100 years for eack watershed were sjmulated by multi- season first order Markov model based on two parameter gamma distribution which is ack- nowledged to fit the actual distribution of monthly discharges of watersheds. Simulated sy- nthetic monthly flows may be considered to be contributed to the long series of discharges as an input data for the development of water resources. 6. It is to be desired that generation technique of synthetic flow in this study would be compared with other simulation techniques for the objective time series.
