  • The system performance of an automobile air conditioning system with variations of charging conditions has been investigated experimentally. An automobile air conditioning system was composed of laminated type evaporator, parallel flow type condenser, swash plate type com-pressor, externally equalized thermostatic expansion valve and receiver drier. The objective of this study was to quantify the influence of the refrigerant charge under the steady state operation of an automobile air conditioning system. The results indicated that a 10% undercharge caused a 10% reduction in the capacity of evaporator.

  • Groundwater movement is one of the most important elements in the construction and management of underground oil storage cavern. To control the groundwater flow, grouting is run in parallel with water curtains. But as traditional grouting is conducted within cavern before and after excavation, the effect of grouting is delayed and the injection sphere is limited in the rock mass. Therefore, it is desirable to introduce a more extensive and effective grouting. This article is to present the caly grouting, which was the first to be carried out in the construction of underground caverns for oil storage in Japan. After conducting the clay grouting, the effect was confirmed by ground water level and infiltration quantity to the caverns.

  • The experimental investigation on the inlet pressure of a large tilting pad journal bearing is studied. The continuous distribution of the film pressure and film thickness are measured along with the shaft speed and bearing load for various flow rates. Considerably large inlet pressure is observed at the entrance of each pad, especially lower pads. The inlet pressure increases with the increase of shaft speed as well as bearing load, but it is almost independent on the folw rate and the oil supply temperature. Because of the inlet pressure, the upper pads always keep up slight wedge film shape which are almost parallel to the journal surface, and spragging is not observed in the upper pads with no preload.

다단계-병렬 흐름 생산시스템하에서의 제품별 로트 투입순서 결정

  • 본 연구에서는 다품종(multiple products) 다단계(multi-stage) 흐름 생산시스템에서의 제품별 로트 투입순서결정무제를 다루었다. 다단계 흐름 생산시스템의 투입순서 결정문제에 대한 기존연구는 각 단계의 기계대수가 1대인 경우에 관한 것이 대부분이지만, 본 연구에서는 각 단계의 기계대수가 복수이고 각 제품의 생산량이 로트로 주어지며, 또한 각 단계마다의 이송이 로트로 이루어지는 것이 아니라 1단위로 이루어지는 생산시스템을 대상으로 하였다. 그리고 각 제품의 생산준비기간은 투입순서와 관계 없이 일정하며 앞 단계에서 제품이 도착하지 않더라도 생산준비는 먼저 수행될 수 있다고 가정하였다. 제품별 로트 투입순서 결정문제에서 사용된 성능평가기준(performance measure)은 총작업소요시간(makespan)이며 순열투입순서(permutation schedule)만을 대상으로 하였다. 결정기법으로는 투입순서 결정문제에서 효율적인 것으로 알려져 있는 분지한계법(Branch & Bound)이 사용되었으며 분지한계법에서 이용되는 부분투입순서(partial sequence)에 대한 하한값(lower bound)을 제시하였다. 제시된 기법을 사용하면 현실적인 크기의 제품별 로트 투입순서 결정문제를 적당한 시간내에 충분히 해결할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 제시된 해법으로 해결된 수치예제가 주어져 있다.

  • This paper describes a phase-shifter which can flexibly adjust the active and reactive power flow through an ac transmission line. The phase-shifter has two voltage-source converters sharing an energy storage capacitor. The magnitude of the injected voltage is controlled by the converter I connected in parallel with the sending terminal, while that of phase angle by the converter II in series with the line through the coupling transformer. In order to analyze the whole system operation, an equivalent circuit model was developed and verified by a computer simulation with EMTP code.

  • This research is concerned with n jobs, m parallel identical machines scheduling problem in which all jobs have a common due date. The objective of the research is to develop an optimum scheduling algorithm for determining an optimal job sequence, the optimal value of the common due date and the minimum makespan to minimize total cost. The total cost is based on the common due date cost, the earliness cost, the tardiness cost and the flow time cost of each job in the selected sequence. The optimum scheduling algorithm is developed. A numerical example is given to illustrate the scheduling algorithm.

  • 연소실 안으로 분출되는 스월 유동의 vortex breakdown mechanism 에 대한 연구를 하였다. 3 차원 유한 체적기법과 Runge-Kutta 시간 적분법이 적용되었으며, 난류모델은 dynamic large eddy simulation (DLES)이 적용되었다. 계산 시간의 효율성과 기억용량을 효과적으로 사용하기 위하여 message passing interface (MPI) 병렬계산 기법이 적용되었다. 스월 난류 유동에 있어서 vortex breakdown 거동을 가시적으로 표착 하였는데. 이는 스월 유동에 의한 난류 응력 증대, 난류 생성/소산율 증대 및 혼합율 증대에 대한 실험적 근거를 뒷받침하는 매우 중요한 결과이다. 또한 평균 속도와 레이놀스 응력에 대한 계산 결과도 실험 결과와 비교하였다.

  • In order to realistically represent the complex turbulence-chemistry interaction at the partially premixed turbulent lifted flames encountered in the gas turbine combustors, the combined conserved-scalar/level-set flamelet approach has been adopted. The parallel unstructured-grid finite-volume method has been developed to maintain the geometric flexibility and computational efficiency for the solution of the physically and geometrically complex flows. Special emphasis is given to the swirl effects on the combustion characteristics of the lean-premixed gas turbine combustor. Numerical results suggest that the present approach is capable of realistically simulating the combustion characteristics for the lean-premixed gas turbine engines and the lifted turbulent jet flame with a vitiated coflow.

  • The effect of air vent holes, stacking methods of boxes and clearance between boxes on static pressure drop, were measured to design of pressure cooling system. Static pressure drops in air vent hole of carton box were measured for different hole opening ratio from 1% to 5%. Static pressure drop was expressed as a function of superficial velocity as second-degree polynomial. At given static pressure in plenum chamber, static pressure drop in boxes was shown as second-degree polynomial of the number of carton box in series stacking method, as first-degree polynomial in height and parallel stacking method. In pressure cooling of 24 boxes of Tsugaru apple, air flow rates through clearance between the boxes were shown 1.27 and 1.65 times than those of through the inside of boxes at the plenum pressure of 10mmAq and 20mmAq, respectively.

  • Though limited, Model Human Processor (MHP) has been used to explain the complex users' behaviors during human-computer interactions in a simplified manner. MHP consists of perceptual, cognitive and motor systems, each with processors and memories interacting with each other in serial or parallel mode. The important parameters of memory include the storage capacity, the decay time, and the code type of a memorized item. The important parameter of a processor is the cycle time. Using these features of the model, this study developed a computerized cognitive process simulator to predict the cognitive process time of a class match task process. An experimental validity test result showed that the mean prediction time for cognitive process of the class match task simulated 50 times by the simulator was consistent with the mean cognitive process time of the same task performed by 37 subjects. Animation of the data flow during the class match task simulation will help understand the invisible human cognitive process.
