Analysis of the Interference between Parallel Socket Connections and Prediction of the Bandwidth (병렬 연결 간의 트래픽 간섭 현상 분석 및 대역폭 예측)

  • Recently, many researchers have been studied several high performance data transmission techniques such as TCP buffer Tuning, XCP and Parallel Sockets. The Parallel Sockets is an application level library for parallel data transfer, while TCP tuning, XCP and DRS are developed on kernel level. However, parallel socket is not analyzed in detail yet and need more enhancements, In this paper, we verify performance of parallel transfer technique through several experiments and analyze character of traffic interference among socket connections. In order to enhance parallel transfer management mechanism, we predict the number of socket connections to obtain SLA of the network resource and at the same time, affected network bandwidth of existing connections is measured mathematically due to the interference of other parallel transmission. Our analytical scheme predicts very well network bandwidth for applications using the parallel socket only with 8% error.

  • In this paper, linearized dynamic characteristics of parallel line pivoted pad thrust bearing(hereinafter refer to PLP thrust bearing) was analyzed by perturbation method with inlet pressure. Inlet pressure and excitation frequency irfluence dynamic characteristics of PLP thrust bearing at all operating condition, such as angular pivot position, mass of pad. Therefore, the characteristics is have to analyzed with inlet pressure, excitation frequency, mass of pad and thickness of pad. Otherwise, the analysis is able to estimate the characteristics over or under.

  • Proposed here is a parallel genetic algorithm accompanied with intermittent migration among subpopulations. It is intended to maintain diversity in the population for a long period . This method was applied to finding out the global maximum of some multimodal functions for which no other methods seem to be useful . Preferable results and their detailed analysis are also presented.

  • If the distance between two vertices becomes longer after the removal of a vertex u, then u is called a hinge vertex. In this paper, a linear time sequential algorithm is presented to find all hinge vertices of an interval graph. Also, a parallel algorithm is presented which takes O(n/P + log n) time using P processors on an EREW PRAM.

  • In this paper the algorithm which controls output voltage and power factor independently and the algorithm which controls output voltage with fixed unity power factor are compared and analyzed. These algorithms are applied to single-phase AC/DC parallel are applied to single-phase AC/DC parallel converters for a high speed train system. The control characteristic of the algorithms are compared and analyzed with respect to the output voltage and input power factor when system parameters vary.

  • A double parallel manipulator has only two or three links in each parallel mechanism. this reduces link interferences so that we expect a large workspace. To prove this property, this paper analyzes the workspace of a double parallel manipulator and compare it with that of a Stewart Platform. the analysis is separately conducted in a positional and an orientational division. For each, we obtain the workspace accrding to the ranges of lengths of links and show the volume in a cartesian coordinate or the angular ranges in yaw and pitch motions.

  • This paper deals with dynamics and control of a PRP6-DOF parallel manipulator. Dynamic modeling includes the effect of inertia of all links in the mechanism to increase modeling accuracy. Kinematic analysis about forward and inverse kinematics is also explained. Using Lagrange-D' Alambert method we get equations of motions in a link space which fully represent 6DOF motions of the manipulator.

  • The PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) with liquid crystal tracers is used for visualizing and analysis of the mixed convection in the parallel plates with the upper part cooled and the lower part heated. It is found that the flow pattern of mixed convection in the parallel plates can be classified into three patterns which was affected by Reynolds number. Also, the periodic nature is confirmed, and visualized in experiment.

  • An efficient parallel algorithm is presented to find a maximum weight independent set of a permutation graph which takes O(log n) time using O($n^2$/ log n) processors on an EREW PRAM, provided the graph has at most O(n) maximal independent sets. The best known parallel algorithm takes O($log^2n$) time and O($n^3/log\;n$) processors on a CREW PRAM.
