교육요구분석을 통한 계산과학분야의 고성능컴퓨팅 지식요소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Knowledge Elements of HPC in Computational Science through Analysis of Educational Needs)

  • 본 연구는 계산과학분야의 고성능컴퓨팅 교육을 위한 지식요소들을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 고성능컴퓨팅 전문가들을 대상으로 1차 설문을 통해 내용타당도와 신뢰도를 조사하여 20개의 후보지식요소들을 도출하였다. 고성능컴퓨팅 사용자들을 대상으로 2차 설문을 통해 후보지식요소들에 대해 t-test, Borich 요구도, The Locus for Focus모델을 적용하여 고성능컴퓨팅 교육을 위한 10개의 지식요소들을 도출하였다. 그 결과 고성능컴퓨팅 교육을 위한 '기본 병렬성', '병렬성', '병렬통신 및 조정', '병렬분할', '병렬 알고리즘 분석 및 프로그래밍', '모델링 및 시뮬레이션 소개' 6개의 1순위 지식요소들과 '기본 프로그래밍 개념', '기본 자료구조', '메모리 관리', '알고리즘 및 설계' 4개의 2순위 지식요소들을 도출하였다.

삼병렬 터널의 안정성 검토를 위한 모형실험 연구 (A Study for the Stability Investigation of Three Parallel Tunnels Using Scaled Model Tests)

  • 삼병렬 터널은 3개의 터널이 서로 나란히 배열되는 형태의 터널이다. 본 연구에서는 터널간 이격거리, 터널단면 형상, 지보조건, 지반조건 등이 서로 다른 7가지 삼병렬 터널 모형들에 대한 축소모형실험을 통하여 모형별 균열개시압력과 터널 주변지반의 변형거동을 조사하였다. 터널간 이격거리가 작은 모형일수록 낮은 압력 수준에서 필러의 파괴가 일어나고 터널의 내공변형량도 증가하여 터널의 안정성은 감소하였다. 터널단면의 형상이 아치형, 편평아치형, 사각형인 모형들 중에서 사각형 단면을 가진 터널의 안정성이 가장 작았으며, 천반곡률반경이 작은 아치형 터널이 편평아치형 터널보다 안정성이 우수하였다. 터널의 천장부에 모형 록볼트를 설치한 모형은 무지보 터널 모형에 비하여 균열개시압력이 클 뿐만 아니라 천단침하량도 적게 나타나 지보의 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. 이방성 암반내 터널 모형은 등방성 모형과 매우 다른 변형거동을 나타내었으며, FLAC을 사용한 수치해석 결과는 모형실험의 결과와 정성적으로 부합하였다.

공학사 학위 연계형 일학습병행제에서 학위 수여를 위한 졸업 작품 운영에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Operation of Graduation Portfolio for Degree Conferment in Engineering Bachelor Degree-Linked Work-Study Parallel System)

  • 본 연구에서는 K대학교 공과대학에서 학위 연계형 일학습병행제 학습근로자들에게 최초로 학위를 수여한 2020년 2월 졸업자를 대상으로 이루어진 조별 졸업 작품 제작과 그 결과를 공학 논문 체계로 완성하는 단계까지 진행한 과정을 제시하고, 대상자들에게서 얻어진 39개 항목의 설문조사 결과를 같은 학년도 졸업자인 같은 전공의 전일제 학생들의 결과들과 비교 분석하였다. 5개 대표 응답 문항을 집단별로 구분하여 통계 분석을 시도하였으나, 각 집단별 인원이 30명 미만으로 응답 결과의 정규성 검정 및 모수적 방법에 의한 통계 분석이 제한되었다. 그러나 가능한 일표본 t-검정을 중심으로 작품 주제 변경 횟수와 조원간 만족도, 작품 지도에 관련된 응답 항목에서 5점 척도 기준 집단간 평균 0.8점 이상 차이가 남을 확인하였고, 이에 대한 대처 방안을 제시하였다.

Automatic decomposition of unstructured meshes employing genetic algorithms for parallel FEM computations

  • Parallel execution of computational mechanics codes requires efficient mesh-partitioning techniques. These mesh-partitioning techniques divide the mesh into specified number of submeshes of approximately the same size and at the same time, minimise the interface nodes of the submeshes. This paper describes a new mesh partitioning technique, employing Genetic Algorithms. The proposed algorithm operates on the deduced graph (dual or nodal graph) of the given finite element mesh rather than directly on the mesh itself. The algorithm works by first constructing a coarse graph approximation using an automatic graph coarsening method. The coarse graph is partitioned and the results are interpolated onto the original graph to initialise an optimisation of the graph partition problem. In practice, hierarchy of (usually more than two) graphs are used to obtain the final graph partition. The proposed partitioning algorithm is applied to graphs derived from unstructured finite element meshes describing practical engineering problems and also several example graphs related to finite element meshes given in the literature. The test results indicate that the proposed GA based graph partitioning algorithm generates high quality partitions and are superior to spectral and multilevel graph partitioning algorithms.

염전 병행 태양광 발전의 실증과 시뮬레이션 (Salt Farm Parallel Solar Power System:Field tests and Simulations)

  • In this research, the concept of a salt farm parallel solar power system, which produce salt and electricity at the same site, is proposed for the first time in the world. The concept is that large waterproof plates made by interconnected solar modules are installed at the bottom of the salt farm. The pilot system was successfully installed at a sea shore, and verified its feasibility as a solar power plant. For deeper understanding, simulations for power prediction of the system were carried out and compared with the field test results. The power generation of the salt farm parallel system is comparable to conventional solar power plants. The cooling effect by sea water contributes more to the increase in the crystalline silicon photovoltaic module performance than the absorption loss due to sea water by maintaining certain height above the module.

A Hybrid Metaheuristic for the Series-parallel Redundancy Allocation Problem in Electronic Systems of the Ship

  • The redundancy allocation problem (RAP) is a famous NP.complete problem that has beenstudied in the system reliability area of ships and airplanes. Recently meta-heuristic techniques have been applied in this topic, for example, genetic algorithms, simulated annealing and tabu search. In particular, tabu search (TS) has emerged as an efficient algorithmic approach for the series-parallel RAP. However, the quality of solutions found by TS depends on the initial solution. As a robust and efficient methodology for the series-parallel RAP, the hybrid metaheuristic (TSA) that is a interactive procedure between the TS and SA (simulated annealing) is developed in this paper. In the proposed algorithm, SA is used to find the diversified promising solutions so that TS can re-intensify search for the solutions obtained by the SA. We test the proposed TSA by the existing problems and compare it with the SA and TS algorithm. Computational results show that the TSA algorithm finds the global optimal solutions for all cases and outperforms the existing TS and SA in cases of 42 and 56 subsystems.

병렬판구조를 이용한 소형 6축 힘/토크센서의 설계 및 특성평가 (Design and evaluation of small size six-axis force/torque sensor using parallel plate sturcture)

  • This paper describes the design processes and evaluation results of a small-sized six-axis force/torque sensor. The new six-axis force/torque sensor including S-type structure has been developed using a parallel plate structure as a basic sensing element. In order tominimize coupling errors, the location of strain gages has been determined based on the finite element analysis and the connections of strain gages have been made such that the bridge circuit with 4 strain gages becomes balanced. Several design modifications result in a similar strain sensitivity for six-axis forces and moments, and the reduced coupling errors of 2.6% FS between each forces and moments. Calibration test results show that the six-axis load cell developed which has light weight of 135g and the maximum capacities of 196 N in forces and 19.6 N.m in moments is estimated to be within 7.1% FS in coupling error.

전기자동차용 충전기의 가변출력 및 병렬운전 제어 (Variable Output and Parallel Operation Control of EV Charger)

  • This research paper describes the development of battery charger with a variable output voltage capacity for charging the batteries used in electrical vehicles. The voltage and current accordingly is control via the buck converter that receives three phase current at primary side and fed to bridge rectifier which is comprised of full bridge converter and HFTR(High Frequency Transformer) for isolation and a square wave AC output. The transformer primary side is in series to divide certain charging current and the secondary side is comprised of six fix transformers so that they can generate certain amount of power and various output voltage through relay connection using 6 DC outputs. Moreover, all parallel connected full bridge serial resonant converter communicate together with upper(main) controller. The constructed structure is verified by conducting the test on PSIM as well as experimentally.

  • Turbo-charger noise radiated from air intake part is one of the most important noise sources in diesel power plant. In this paper, intake noise control of the diesel power plant was studied using parallel baffle type silencer and concentric hole-cavity resonator simultaneously. Firstly, acoustical characteristics and attenuation performance for parallel baffle type silencer were investigated through theoretical approach and experimental method. Based on the results, optimal design of the parallel baffle silencer was suggested. Secondly, for reducing the low frequency noise contained in the intake noise, the concentric hole-type resonator was developed and the acoustic performance was verified from the test. By combining two types of silencers, it is expected that the overall insertion loss is about 50 dB. So, the combined silencer is very helpful in reducing the intake noise of diesel power plant.

변압기 병렬운전시 순환전류 추정 (Estimation of the circulating currents in the parallel operation of transformers)

  • For the $Y-Y-{\Delta}$ transformers operated in parallel, there exist two kinds of the circulating currents i.e. between the tanks and between the banks of the delta side. The proposed algorithm estimates the two circulating currents in the transformers in parallel in an ultra high voltage system. As the circulating current between the tanks is 90 deg out of phase of the load current, it is estimated by decomposing the line current into the component 90 deg out of phase of the load current. The circulating current between the banks in the delta side is estimated from the delta winding current and the line currents. The performance of the proposed algorithm is investigated when the impedances of the two transformer tanks are different or the taps of the on-load tap changer of the transformers are mismatched temporarily. Test results indicate that the algorithm can estimate the two kinds of the circulating currents successfully for both cases.
