  • In the paralleled converter module with peak current mode control, current imbalance appears when the voltage controllers with integral control of converter module are not exactly identical. In this paper, the voltage controller is designed to equal the current command of each converter module using the current command bus. The current balance controller is also proposed to balance the average currents of converter modules with imbalaced inductance. It is designed to have good transient response. Proposed method is implemented with the paralleled 2-module and 4-module boost converters with imbalanced inductance. Experimental results verify the performance of current share during both steady and transient states of converter.

  • The aim of this paper is to develop a controller of multi-phase bipolar brushless DC (MPB BLDC) motors for an electric bicycle. A MPB BLDC motor has a Permanent magnet rotor in which the magnetic arrangement is radial to the shaft and integral to the rotor laminations. This technique concentrates flux, giving a higher flux density than a surface-mounted PM motor and increases reluctance torque. The stator of MPB BLBC motor has parallel winding, allowing multi-phase separate independent controllability. It gets much more high power than wye-connection at same low voltage. The conventional techniques of exited with modulation(EWM), bidirection control, and partial square wale control are Proposed with one H-bridge and two photo sensors per phase. The Proposed controller is satisfied for the limited speed control and designed for system stability Experimental results show the performance of the proposed controller of MPB BLDC motors for an electric bicycle.

  • A fuzzy control strategy is described which is utilized to control the joint angle and tip deflection in single flexible manipulator. In this paper, an existing model for a single flexible manipulator is used for the initial development of an FLC. One FLC is designed to govern the joint angle of the manipulator as it is rotated from one position to another, and the second FLC is designed to attenuate the tip deflection which result from joint angle body motion. Reference Trajectory Command is an important method to reduce vibration in flexible beam. This paper presents a very simple command control shaping which eliminates multiple mode residual vibration in a flexible beam combined parallel fuzzy controller. The effectiveness of proposed scheme is demonstrated through computer simulation.

  • This paper presents a new ZCS-PWM high frequency inverter. Zero current switching operation is achieved in the whole load range by using a simple auxiliary reverse blocking switch in parallel with series resonant capacitor. Dual duty cycle control scheme is used to provide a wide range of high frequency AC output power regulation that is important in many high frequency inverter applications. It found that a complete soft switching operation can be achieved even for low power setting ranges by introducing high-frequency dual duty cycle control scheme. The proposed high frequency inverter is more suitable for consumer induction heating(IH) applications. The operation and control principle of the proposed high frequency inverter are described and verified through simulated results.

  • This paper presents a new load sharing control for use between paralleled three-phase inverters in an islanded microgrid based on the online line impedance estimation by the use of a Kalman filter. In this study, the mismatch of power sharing when the line impedance changes due to temperature, frequency, significant differences in line parameters and the requirements of the Plug-and-Play mode for inverters connected to a microgrid has been solved. In addition, this paper also presents a new droop control method working with the line impedance that is different from the traditional droop algorithm when the line impedance is assumed to be pure resistance or pure inductance. In this paper, the line impedance estimation for parallel inverters uses the minimum square method combined with a Kalman filter. In addition, the secondary control loops are designed to restore the voltage amplitude and frequency of a microgrid by using a combined nominal value SOGI-PLL with a generalized integral block and phase lock loop to monitor the exact voltage magnitude and frequency phase at the PCC. A control model has been simulated in Matlab/Simulink with three voltage source inverters connected in parallel for different ratios of power sharing. The simulation results demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed control method.

  • We provide some recent results of approximation algorithms for solving Markov Games and discuss their applications to problems that arise in Computer Science. We consider a receding horizon approach as an approximate solution to two-person zero-sum Markov games with an infinite horizon discounted cost criterion. We present error bounds from the optimal equilibrium value of the game when both players take “correlated” receding horizon policies that are based on exact or approximate solutions of receding finite horizon subgames. Motivated by the worst-case optimal control of queueing systems by Altman, we then analyze error bounds when the minimizer plays the (approximate) receding horizon control and the maximizer plays the worst case policy. We give two heuristic examples of the approximate receding horizon control. We extend “parallel rollout” and “hindsight optimization” into the Markov game setting within the framework of the approximate receding horizon approach and analyze their performances. From the parallel rollout approach, the minimizing player seeks to combine dynamically multiple heuristic policies in a set to improve the performances of all of the heuristic policies simultaneously under the guess that the maximizing player has chosen a fixed worst-case policy. Given $\varepsilon$>0, we give the value of the receding horizon which guarantees that the parallel rollout policy with the horizon played by the minimizer “dominates” any heuristic policy in the set by $\varepsilon$, From the hindsight optimization approach, the minimizing player makes a decision based on his expected optimal hindsight performance over a finite horizon. We finally discuss practical implementations of the receding horizon approaches via simulation and applications.

  • We demonstrate a simulation of a parallel hybrid fiber amplifier in the C+L-band with a gain controlling technique. A variable optical coupler is used to control the input signal power for both EDFA and RFA branches. The gain spectra of the C+L-band are flattened by optimizing the coupling ratio of the input signal power. In order to enhance the pump conversion efficiency, the EDFA branch was pumped by the residual Raman pump power. A gain bandwidth of 60 nm from 1530 nm to 1590 nm is obtained with large input signal power less than -5 dBm. The gain variation is about 1.06 dB at a small input signal power of -30 dBm, and it is reduced to 0.77 dB at the large input signal power of -5 dBm. The experimental results show close agreement with the simulation results.

  • This research paper describes the development of battery charger with a variable output voltage capacity for charging the batteries used in electrical vehicles. The voltage and current accordingly is control via the buck converter that receives three phase current at primary side and fed to bridge rectifier which is comprised of full bridge converter and HFTR(High Frequency Transformer) for isolation and a square wave AC output. The transformer primary side is in series to divide certain charging current and the secondary side is comprised of six fix transformers so that they can generate certain amount of power and various output voltage through relay connection using 6 DC outputs. Moreover, all parallel connected full bridge serial resonant converter communicate together with upper(main) controller. The constructed structure is verified by conducting the test on PSIM as well as experimentally.

  • This pap4er analyzes resonance characteristics of a slave motor that is not controlled by load and parameter differences between Dual motors during parallel operation in middle-low speed. Dual SPMSMs(Surface mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) connected in parallel to a single inverter controlled by the master and slave control in this paper. Based on the stability analysis of the SPMSM for a variation of torque angle, the 6th nonlinear state equation of the torque angle variation in the SIMM(Single Inverter Multi Motor) structure is derived according to a mathematical model for the dual motors. In general, an analysis of the 6th order nonlinear state equation is complex. Therefore, a resonance frequency generated from the slave motor is found from the characteristic equation of the 2nd order system obtained by linearization and model reduction near steady state operation point. Through simulations and experiments, it is confirmed that the stability analysis of the SPMSMs and state equation models are useful for the variation of the torque angle analyzed in this paper.
