The weighted sum of gray gas model(WSGGM) is applied to arbitrary mixtures of CO$_2$ and H$_2$0 gases. To evaluate this model, the spectral and total intensities are obtained for two different problem types. One has uniform, parabolic and boundary layer type temperature profiles with uniform partial pressure, and the other has nonuniform partial pressure and temperature profile. The results obtained from the two different problem types show fairly good agreements with the results obtained by the statistical narrow band model(SNB model) which is regarded as the reference solutions. The WSGGM and its data base provided by this study can be used for analysis of radiative transfer by combustion gases with different thermal loadings and chemical compositions.

The design and manufacfure technology of the large aperture cassegrain antenna was first studied in the country, and its performances in a trial manufactured product are measured and compared. In order to design this cassegrain antenna with reference to several literatures, the schemed order was decided. Especially, for the cassegrain antenna of 4.6m diameter which is becoming the television receiving antenna directly from satellite, in advanced countries, the 1/12 sized small section of its parabolic curved surface is made primarily with the precision of less difference than 1/16λ depth. Cares are taken also on the computer program so that the size and position of primary radiator may satisfy the minimum blocking with the given sub-reflector. The preformances of the designed antenna are shown as being 43dB in gain, 1.15 or less in VSWR, 1.1$^{\circ}$ of beam angle etc., and found to be not worse than those of foreign productions with similar type and size.

The NOx emission characteristics of C$H_4$-Air coflow jet flames were numerically and experimentally investigated. NOx was measured using a chemiluminescent detection and calculated by the parabolic -type equation solver with a detatiled NOx chemistry. The fuel flow rate( $Q_{F}$), the diameter of mixture nozzle and the equivalence rate(Ф) were varied to discuss the EINOx of each flames at the various combustion conditions. The NOx emission index(EINOx) was introduced to quantify the NOx emission from the parametrically varied flames. The results show that Prompt EINOx increases on a logarithmic profile with increasing ${\Phi}$ and keeps nearly constant for the variation of $Q_{F}$. Thermal EINOx reaches the maximum value at around ${\Phi}$ =1.5 and then slowly decrease for ${\Phi}$ >1.5. In addition, Thermal EINOx increases with increasing $Q_{F}$, but nearly indifferent to the variation of the mixture nozzle diameter. Total EINOx also shows a peak at around ${\Phi}$ =1.5, followed by a relatively sharp decrease for 1.5< ${\Phi}$ <2.5 and increase slowly for 2.5 < ${\Phi}$ < $\infty$ The present Total EINOx trend is well explained by a combination of above Thermal and Prompt EINOx trend with the variation of ${\Phi}$ n of ${\Phi}$.

For protection of the cylinder wall of the ball mill for grinding raw ore. the inner side of the cylinder is covered with rubber liner. The rubber is easily worn down because the rubber relatively soft compared with raw ore. So the rubber liner in the ball mill cylinder must be replaced almost every year and the cost for replacing rubber liner formidable. In this paper, for reducing or excluding the cost of replacing rubber liner the basalt liner is designed. The basalt materials are generally harder than raw ore and the basalt liner in the ball mill does not wear down and so it can be used almost permanently. The concave surfaces are made on the liner of the ball mill and the liner in the cylinder wall plays also the role of raising the steel balls mixed in the raw ore. The section profiles of the concave surface have an important effect on the performance of the ball mill. The deep concave grooves raise the steel balls to high levels and give the large potential energy to the steel balls impacting to the raw ore. But if the concave grooves are too deep. the steel balls raised too high by the concave grooves fly along the parabolic path and reach to the other side of cylinder wall and so the steel balls do not play the roles of grinding the raw ore. The forces acting to a steel ball in a concave groove of the cylinder liner are also analyzed in this paper. The formulas calculating the height and the impact point of the steel ball are introduced and presented. Based to these formulas, the optimum section profiles of the basalt liner are presented.

Flow structure and mixing characteristics in a micro combustor with a multi-hole baffle were numerically studied using the Reynolds stress model. The multi-hole baffle has geometrical features to produce multiple three-dimensional vortices inside combustion chamber. When the thickness of the baffle's geometrical factors changes, variations of vortical structures occur variously. Among these vortices, the vortex generated from the fuel stream exerts a critical influence on the mixing enhancement. The three-dimensional vortical structure, in its development state, was strongly dependent on the baffle thickness. In particular, as the baffle thickness decreases to values less than the diameter of the fuel hole, the jet stream in baffle holes changes from the parabolic to saddleback profile type. The sizes of recirculation zones inside combustion chamber and the mixing state were closely affected by the structure of the jet streams.

The electrical properties of neurons are produced by the coordinated activity of ion channels (Hille, 1992). $K^{+}$ channels play a key role in shaping action potentials and in determining neural firing patterns. Small conductance $Ca^{2+}$-activated $K^{+}$ (S $K_{Ca}$ ) channels are involved in modulating the slow component of afterhyperpolarization (AHP) (Kohler et al., 1996). Here we examine whether rat type 2 S $K_{Ca}$ (rSK2) channels can affect the shape of the action potential and the neural firing pattern, by overexpressing rat SK2 channels in Aplysia neuron R15. Our results show that rSK2 overexpression decreased the intraburst frequency and changed the regular bursting activity of neurons to an irregular bursting or beating pattern in R15, Furthermore, the overexpression of rSK2 channels increased AHP and reduced the duration of the action potential. Thus, our results suggest that ectopic S $K_{Ca}$ channels play an important role in regulating the filing pattern and the shape of the action potential.ntial.
New CCD photometric observations of GX Aur have been made between 2004 and 2015. Our light curves are the first ever compiled and display the variable O'Connell effect. The light variations are satisfactorily modeled by including time-varying cool-spots on the component stars. Our light curve synthesis indicates that the eclipsing pair is an A-type contact binary with parameters of i = 81.1 deg, ${\Delta}T=36K$, q = 0.950 and f = 46%. Including our 25 timing measurements, a total of 83 times of minimum light spanning about 66 yr were used for a period study. It was found that the orbital period of GX Aur has varied due to two periodic oscillations superposed on an upward-opening parabolic variation. The long-term period increase rate is deduced as $+9.636{\times}10^{-10}d\;yr^{-1}$, which can be produced as a mass transfer from the secondary star to the primary at a rate of $3.136{\times}10^{-6}M_{\odot}\;yr^{-1}$, among the largest rates for contact systems. The periods and semi-amplitudes of the two periodic variations are about $P_3=8.7yr$ and $P_4=21.2yr$, and $K_3=0.011d$ and $K_4=0.017d$, respectively. The most reasonable explanation for both cycles is a pair of light-travel-time effects driven by the possible existence of an unseen third and fourth components with projected masses of $M_3=0.91M_{\odot}$ and $M_4=1.09M_{\odot}$ in eccentric orbits of $e_3=0.13$ and $e_4=0.73$. Because no third light was detected in the light curve synthesis, each circumbinary object could be a compact star or a binary itself.
We have developed a 5GHz continuum receiver system. The receiver is a direct type receiver. In order to reduce the noise due to the fluctuation of the gain in the amplifiers, the system employs the Dicke switching method. We made the 5GHz low-noise amplifier and the bandpass filter. The low-noise amplifier gives ${\sim}35dB$ gain and has ${\sim}210K$ noise temperature. The bandpass filter has a passband between 4.3 and 5.4GHz. We also made switch driver, video amplifiers, phase detector, and integrator. Using a 1.8 meter offset parabolic antenna, we measured the efficiency of the system. Since the antenna does not have a driver to track objects, observations were performed with the antenna fixed. The measured noise temperature of the system is ${\sim}650K$. From the observation of the blank sky, noise level was measured. It was found that the systematic noise(${\sim}0.5K$: peak to peak value) is much larger than the thermal noise. The systematic noise is possibly related to the stability of the DC power supplied to the receiver system. Besides the noise of the system, it was found that the airplanes are the very serious noise sources. We measured the radio flux of the Sun using the developed system. The observed radio flux of the Sun is ${\sim}10^6Jy$, which is close to the known value of the quiet Sun. The test observation of the Sun shows that the angular beam size of the antenna is ${\sim}2.2^{\circ}$.
A method for measuring the wavefront error and the modulation transfer function(MTF) of large aperture optics using an unequal path interferometer is presented. A bidirectional shearing interferometer is used for collimation testing of the measurement system. A large aperture Fizeau interferometer with long optical path difference measures the wavefront error of the optics under test by using a $\Phi$ 400 mm off-axis parabolic mirror. The MTF is also measured at the wavelength of the interferometer by changing the laser light into partially incoherent light. Test results of a $\Phi$ 300 mm Cassegrain type satellite telescope made in Korea are presented.
In the present study, buckling analysis of sandwich composite (carbon nanotube reinforced composite and fiber reinforced composite) Euler-Bernoulli beam in two configurations (core and layers material), three laminates (combination of different angles) and two models (relative thickness of core according to peripheral layers) using differential quadrature method (DQM) is studied. Also, the effects of porosity coefficient and different types of porosity distribution on critical buckling load are discussed. Using sandwich beam, it shows a considerable enhancement in the critical buckling load when compared to ordinary composite. Actually, resistance against buckling in sandwich beam is between two to four times more. It is also showed the critical buckling loads of laminate 1 and 3 are significantly larger than the results of laminate 2. When Configuration 2 is used, the critical buckling load rises about 3 percent in laminate 1 and 3 compared to the results of configuration 1. The amount of enhancement for laminate 3 is about 17 percent. It is also demonstrated that the influence of the core height (thickness) in the case of lower carbon volume fractions is ignorable. Even though, when volume fraction of fiber increases, differences grow smoothly. It should be noticed the amount of decline has inverse relationship with the beam aspect ratio. Among three porosity patterns investigated, beam with the distribution of porosity Type 2 (downward parabolic) has the maximum critical buckling load. At the end, the first three modes of buckling will be demonstrated to investigate the effect of spring constants.
