In multivariate regression with a high-dimensional response Y ∈ ℝr and a relatively low-dimensional predictor X ∈ ℝp (where r ≥ 2), the statistical analysis of such data presents significant challenges due to the exponential increase in the number of parameters as the dimension of the response grows. Most existing dimension reduction techniques primarily focus on reducing the dimension of the predictors (X), not the dimension of the response variable (Y). Yoo and Cook (2008) introduced a response dimension reduction method that preserves information about the conditional mean E(Y | X). Building upon this foundational work, Yoo (2018) proposed two semi-parametric methods, principal response reduction (PRR) and principal fitted response reduction (PFRR), then expanded these methods to unstructured principal fitted response reduction (UPFRR) (Yoo, 2019). This paper reviews these four response dimension reduction methodologies mentioned above. In addition, it introduces the implementation of the mbrdr package in R. The mbrdr is a unique tool in the R community, as it is specifically designed for response dimension reduction, setting it apart from existing dimension reduction packages that focus solely on predictors.

This paper describes the properties analysis of concrete using bleeding reduction agent. According to the results, the fluidity and the air content of fresh concrete with increase of bleeding reduction agent show little difference in compare with plain concrete which does not use bleeding reduction agent. The efficiency of bleeding reduction agent is confirmed because in variation of W/C and slump, the increase of bleeding reduction agent dosage reduces bleeding remarkably. And the compressive strength of hardened concrete does not show any differences with increase the dosage of bleeding reduction agent. Bleeding reduction agent does not have bad effect on the quality of concrete such as fluidity, air content and the strength of hardened concrete and so on, the dosage of it can reduce bleeding effectively.

The drag reduction is the phenomenon that occurs only when the shear stress from the wall of pipe is beyond the critical point. The drag reduction increase as the molecular weight, concentration of the polymer and Reynolds number increase, but it is limited by Virk's maximum drag reduction asymptote. Because of the strong shear force for the polymer on the turbulent flow, the molecular weight and the drag reduction do not decrease. Such mechanical degradation of the polymer occurs in all polymer solvent systems. This paper is to identify and develop high performance polymer additives for fluid transportations with the benefits of turbulent drag reduction. In addition, drag reduction in vertical flow by measuring the pressure drop and local void fraction on vertical-up flow of close system is evaluated.

This paper discusses a model order reduction for large order rotor dynamics systems results from the finite element discretization. Typical rotor systems consist of a rotor, built-on parts, and a support system, and require prudent consideration in their dynamic analysis models because they include unsymmetric stiffness, localized nonproportional damping and frequency dependent gyroscopic effects. When the finite element model has a very large number of degrees of freedom because of complex geometry, repeated dynamic analyses to investigate the critical speeds, stability, and unbalanced response are computationally very expensive to finish within a practical design cycle. In this paper, the Krylov-based model order reduction via moment matching significantly speeds up the dynamic analyses necessary to check eigenvalues and critical speeds of a Nelson-Vaugh rotor system. With this approach the dynamic simulation is efficiently repeated via a reduced system by changing a running rotational speed because it can be preserved as a parameter in the process of model reduction. The Campbell diagram by the reduced system shows very good agreement with that of the original system. A 3-D finite element model of the Nelson-Vaugh rotor system is taken as a numerical example to demonstrate the advantages of this model reduction for rotor dynamic simulation.
This paper presents methods for analyzing the extent of cylindrical-shaped void closure. In addition, a quantitative relationship between change in void fraction and height reduction ratio of a compressed specimen is proposed. The height reduction ratio, number of deformation steps and billet rotation were chosen as key process parameters influencing the void closing behavior, namely, the changes in void shape and size during hot open die forging of a large ingot. The extent of void closure was analyzed from microscopic observations and estimated from tensile test results. The tensile strengths of specimens with closed voids and those without were compared for various reduction ratios in height. The results confirmed that void closure occurs at reduction ratios greater than 30 %. The void closing behavior could be expressed as a hyperbolic tangent function of reduction ratio in height, number of paths, and billet rotation. The knowledge presented in this paper could be helpful for optimizing deformation paths in open die forging processes.
Purpose - This paper examines South Korea's potential status as a carbon leakage country, and the level of risk posed by the Korean emissions trading scheme (ETS) for Korean industries. The economic effects of border carbon adjustments (BCAs) to protect energy-intensive Korean industries in the process of achieving the carbon reduction target by 2030 through the Korean ETS are also analyzed. Design/methodology - First, using the Korean Input-Output (IO) table, this paper calculates the balance of emissions embodied in trade (BEET) and the pollution terms of trade (PTT) to determine Korean industries' carbon leakage status. Analyses of the risk level posed by carbon reduction policy implementation in international trade are conducted for some sectors by applying the EU criteria. Second, using a computable general equilibrium (CGE) model, three BCA scenarios, exemption regulations (EXE), reimbursement (REB), and tariff reduction (TAR) to protect the energy-intensive industries under the Korean ETS are addressed. Compared to the baseline scenario of achieving carbon reduction targets by 2030, the effects of BCAs on welfare, carbon leakage, outputs, and trading are analyzed. Findings - As Korea's industrial structure has been transitioning from a carbon importing to a carbon leaking country. The results indicate that some industrial sectors could face the risk of losing international competitiveness due to the Korean ETS. South Korea's industries are basically exposed to risk of carbon leakage because most industries have a trade intensity higher than 30%. This could be interpreted as disproving vulnerability to carbon leakage. Although the petroleum and coal sector is not in carbon leakage, according to BEET and PTT, the Korean ETS exposes this sector to a high risk of carbon leakage. Non-metallic minerals and iron and steel sectors are also exposed to a high risk of carbon leakage due to the increased burden of carbon reduction costs embodied in the Korean ETS, despite relatively low levels of trade intensity. BCAs are demonstrated to have an influential role in protecting energy-intensive industries while achieving the carbon reduction target by 2030. The EXE scenario has the greatest impact on mitigation of welfare losses and carbon leakage, and the TAF scenario causes a disturbance in the international trade market because of the pricing adjustment system. In reality, the EXE scenario, which implies completely exempting energy-intensive industries, could be difficult to implement due to various practical constraints, such as equity and reduction targets and other industries; therefore, the REB scenario presents the most realistic approach and appears to have an effect that could compensate for the burden of economic activities and emissions regulations in these industries. Originality/value - This paper confirms the vulnerability of the Korean industrial the risk of carbon leakage, demonstrating that some industrial sectors could be exposed to losing international competitiveness by implementing carbon reduction policies such as the Korean ETS. The contribution of this paper is the identification of proposed approaches to protect Korean industries in the process of achieving the 2030 reduction target by analyzing the effects of BCA scenarios using a CGE model.

In this paper, we propose some PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) reduction methods using WHT(Walsh Hadamard Transform) to reduce high PAPR generated in OFDM system because of multi carrier modulation. These proposed methods are the methods which has additional PAPR reduction performance without a loss of bandwidth efficiency and a large increment of calculation complexity than common PAPR reduction methods by combining the WHT with some common methods. In this paper, we propose two PAPR reduction methods made by combining a SLM(Selective Mapping) and DSI(Dummy Sequence Insertion) with a WHT. From simulation result, we can find that the PAPR reduction methods using a WHT can get about 1 dB additional PAPR reduction performance than common PAPR reduction methods; they are SLM and DSI. And, because our proposed methods have not only PAPR reduction effect, but also frequency diversity effect, more stabile data transmission is possible in nonlinear HPA and multipath fading channel.

Noise reduction has become a major issue of the duct air-conditioners. This paper describes the reduction of noise and vibration of rotational slim duct system. The design of slim duct system is the most important point of noise reduction in terms of the motor of 2f line noise, resonance noise between forced frequency and natural frequency of Sirocco fan, unbalance noise of motor axis and the noise induced refrigerant. The noise of duct system is mainly measured from diffuser and bottom of duct. The optimal design was implemented after measuring the effect of noise and vibration in each part which is composed of duct system. In this paper, experimental results show that the main elements in air-conditioner duct design. These elements are anti-vibration rubber of motor, axis length of motor, rubber coupler, materials of sirocco fan and control method of motor which are the most vital factors in reducing noise.

The effects of refining consistency and plate gap on the specific energy consumption and physical properties of liner were investigated. Higher refining consistency and narrower plate gap brought about the reduction of specific energy consumption to decrease the freeness. Refining consistency and plate gap did not affect the bulk, Taber stiffness and compression index. The reduction of freeness and/or the increase of specific energy consumption caused the decrease of bulk and Taber stiffness, but increased the compression index. The effect of grammage on bulk was not observed, but Taber stiffness and compression index were increased with grammage. The bulk was decreased with the reduction of freeness rapidly at the above 400 mL CSF, and then levelled off. It is expected that the reduction of energy consumption could be obtained from the application of higher refining consistency and narrower plate gap during refining.
