The Joseon dynasty had close communication with the Ming and Qing dynasties on multiple levels. In the development process of furniture modeling design, the same cultural source and mutual communication, and the same factor was reflected in each other's furniture modeling. In this paper, "Furniture in the later Joseon Period" and "Ming style furniture" are taken as the research noumenon, table furniture as the specific research object, and from the perspective of "similarity" in the history of exchanges between the two countries, the overall modeling design and the local modeling design are selected to discuss the modeling design of traditional furniture in the two countries. In the analysis of specific research cases, there are similar genes in the overall modeling design of table furniture such as soban, warp bed and inkstone bed in the later Joseon Dynasty and table furniture such as kang, square table, wine table and incense table in the Ming and qing dynasties. In terms of local modeling, the appearance of similar desktop, cloud horn, leg, foot and other modeling designs better confirms the similarity in modeling design between the two countries. In this paper for "type of air hole" formative source speculated that traditional furniture is for Korean peninsula a tentative study of cultural studies. Considering the fact that the exchanges between Korea and China are expanding in many aspects, exploring the similarities in the traditional furniture will help to analyze the cultural exchanges between the two countries and promote the exchanges.

Even though, a quality of the daily goods and furniture are improving as increasing living standard, the neglected people have been left behind as ever. However, tools and furniture of everyday life a certain class that are alienated are left to the inconvenience of everyday life such as the difficulty of purchase route or incongruity with the surround living space. The design that can solve this problem is the inclusive design. When we look closely the previous researches on the inclusive design, we can find that researches on public facilities and industrial products are actively carried out based on the principles and features of the inclusive design, but studies in the field of furniture design are very insufficient. In this paper, we try to study the furniture design incorporating the inclusive design and to include specific stratum without alienating it. The research method is centered on product case analysis and suggested furniture design that 'everyone can use together'. This helps designs in realizing their social values by giving everyone the right to live an equal life.

Recently, the aspect of consumers' preference for design has been changed to a pattern of respect for personality, based on 'personal value of passion'. The differentiated personal passion of modern people does not allow them to select mass-produced industrial product, and leads them to choose life style different from others. Specially, consumers want to express. their differentiated personality by preferring and possessing the originally designed products. Therefore, the originally designed products that are clearly identifiable become the object of consumers' consideration, and stimulate the consumers' desire to purchase. According to new needs of consumers, it is required to reconsider the old design pattern of furniture based on simplicity and propose new design for furniture to meet the needs of consumers. Mass production has resulted in a strong focus on simplicity rather than difficulty and complexity of the production process. This tendency shows the design pattern that leans toward one side excluding the expression of correlative concept among design elements. This one sided design leads modern people to have no personality, and shows only simple and uniform expression of passion. Therefore, this paper is purposed to develop furniture with more personality by applying correlative concept that has been taken less seriously in the field of design to furniture design.

This paper explores the inlaying technique of Geum-Cheol Kim, a joiner has made the traditional Korean furniture mostly popular in Tong Yeong in Gyeongnam province in Korea. He has adopted the technique in creating his furniture since he started learning and working the furniture making at sixteen years old. So he is only the cabinet maker with the technique in Tong Yeong GN. Samhojang, Seongtaenoemun, Gwuinoemun, and so on are the techniques inlaid in the furniture like Jang, Nong, Beoseonjang, Mungap and so on. The Tong-yeong techniques are even more difficult and take longer time than other ordinary inlays to be created, but they are very secured and last longer. And the techniques are very beautiful but today they are not well-known and used in Korea. Hence, the succession and preservation of the techniques are needed from the joiner to younger generation. Futhermore, the development on the easier and shorter process to create them is needed to be popular throughout Korea in order to be useful for contemporary furniture.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate condensation prevention for condensation vulnerable areas around built-in furniture of apartment buildings by applying auxiliary heating device. Recently, the condensation and mold problems of apartment buildings has been growing due to high insulation and high air-tightness performance for energy saving. Condensation at built-in furniture were generally found in winter at the of furniture's back panels, adjacent surfaces of wall, floor and ceiling. These problems are related to the weather conditions and indoor room conditions in winter. To solve these problems, auxiliary heating device was developed and could be installed. The aim of paper is to analyze the thermal environment around the built-in furniture which were applied and not applied auxiliary heating device in winter. In results, it was possible to increase the surface temperature of vulnerable areas around built-in furniture by applying auxiliary heating device, and to minimize condensation problems by using the minimum device.

This study considered stools not just as a tool for sitting but with their symbolicity as well. Regarding the changes and meanings of general stools and X-stools, this paper studied their images and explanations as well as literatures by quoting as it limited their range from the ancient times till Neo-classicism. In conclusion, the origin of stools exists in consciousness and also the social hierarchy of authority. There still remain the elements of X in any way along with the functions. This proves that furniture has reason for existence even today not just for its functions but something beyond that. Along with the historic flow of X-stools, we should know that there is diversity of thinking in the area of stools. In understanding furniture design or furniture, now is the time to approach to it in various ways, and it is expected that new design can be born through that thinking.

The purpose of paper is to examine about Street Furniture in swimming beach. The beach space is the very important place not only to spend in season but also to use 4-seasons in leisure culture. To offer better landscape in spacial beach; Gyeongpo, Naksan, Mangsang, Samcheok and Sokcho, such as regional atmosphere and identification are to analyze with design criteria. For the amenity of users through the improvement of landscape may be possible to work out future of beach surroundings. Accordingly material, form and color can be estimated systematically. This research suggests that design of street furniture is to be environmental and regional control. As a result, some proposal of Street Furniture by analysis, designer and officer have to focus on establishing a comprehensive plan for the attractive beach space.

This paper analyzed the modern trends and the present state of kitchen furniture and electric appliances depending on the advancement in IOT technology, in order to contribute to seeking a method of approaching consumers as an effective way for kitchen furniture and electric appliance companies to develop IOT products. Prior to analysis, the chronological transitions of Korean kitchen furniture and examined the effects of Korea's own emotions and characteristics on modern kitchen. For this study, the changes in Korean kitchen space were explored, based on previous studies, recent trend magazines, articles and professional books and the trends of modern kitchen furniture were observed. Also, the concept of IOT technology was considered and then the tendencies of modern IOT kitchen furniture and electric appliances were analyzed. The case study targeted the recent three-year trends of two types of domestic kitchen furniture and small-sized IOT kitchen electric appliances, which are sold, or have been introduced on foreign online stores and have been unveiled at CES Electric Appliances Exhibition. As a result of the study, it was found that many foreign countries, including the US have been developing various IOT kitchen electric appliances. The enterprise concept is to change kitchen with their IOT products, not changing future kitchen with IOT technology. This implies that approaches to product development may change. Moreover, it was recognized that for kitchen design, characteristics of product users need to be considered, according to Korean ideology.

We present the dendrochronological dates of Korean wooden furnitures in National Museum of Korea. Six of fourteen were successfully dated. Rice Chest (구 2225) was dated A.D. 1805 +. Others dated were Rice Chest (신수 9479; A.D. 1819), Rice Chest (신수 9475; A.D. $1826{\pm}10$), Ganghwa-Chest with a flap door (구 2341; A.D. $1842{\pm}10$), Ganghwa-Chest with a flap door (구 3124; A.D. $1859{\pm}10$), Chest with a flap door (신수 15731; A.D. $1865{\pm}10$). Most of existing cabinets were made in 1800s. Rice Chest (신수 9479) was the earliest piece of furniture in the collections of National Museum. The furniture is usually composed one species. The major species was Pinus densiflora.

In this paper, the origin, development and features of a Korean folding stool are studied. A folding stool is a piece of collapsible seating furniture with its legs crossed in the form of the letter "X" and no back attached. In China, the folding stool was introduced from the West around the second century A.D. The folding stool of Korea was influenced by that of China. It is known from the records that the king used the folding stool from the Three Kingdom period. During the Koryo period, Chosun period and the modern period, the folding stool was used to show the authority of the king and nobleman. The folding stool was also used at outside places such as a hunting ground, a ceremonial walk, a battlefield, a garden etc. due to its portableness. Buddha worship policy of Koryo period supported the usage of the folding stool for shanding (禪定) by ascetics of Buddhist temple, or aristocrats. In a contemporary period, the folding stool is continuously produced and used as one kind of a folding chair due to its functionality, movability, storability and efficient space utilization. This research will serve as a momentum to investigate the origin and development of the East Asian seating furniture culture, and contribute to the further study and manufacturing of Korean seating furniture.
