In this paper, we propose the development of an embedded board for construction of smart factory. The proposed embedded board for construction of smart factory consists of main module, ADC module, I/O module. Main module is a main calculating device which includes communication pard that allows interface with external device with using industrial protocol and is ported operating system makes board operating into. ADC module takes part in transferring digital signal has converted from electrical signal to the main module from the external sensor which is installed on the field. I/O module is an input and output module which transfers to the main module about a status, alarm, command signal of field device and it has a function that blocks external noises from field device with isolation circuit into it. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed embedded board for construction of smart factory, it has been tested by an authorized testing institute. As a result, quantity of interacting protocol was 5, speed of hardware clock synchronization was under 10us and operating time of battery without source power was over 8 hours. It produced the same result as the world's highest level.

Manufacturing is facing radical changes around the world. The manufacturing industry, which has been changing since Germany, is now being introduced, improved, and developed worldwide by manufacturers under the name of smart factory. By utilizing IT technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud at the production site, the desire to break away from the past manufacturing environment is increasing. How these technologies will be efficient in the future, manufacturing worldwide now faces radical changes. Discussions continue on how these technologies can be used efficiently and effectively. Increasingly, the expansion of the range from factory areas to regions, countries, and around the world raises the need for international standards for interactions. In this paper, we propose a design and implementation method for managing facilities, sensors, etc. as assets and monitoring facility data collected through OPC UA.
This paper creates a standard node for acquiring sensor data from various industrial sensors (IoT/non-IoT) for the establishment of Smart Factory Digital Twin, and provides inter-compatible data by linking zones by group/process to secure data stability and to ensure the digital twin (Digital Twin) of Smart Factory. The process of the Zone Master platform contains interface specifications to define sensor objects and how sensor interactions between independent systems are performed and carries out individual policies for unique data exchange rules. The interface for execution control of the Zone Master Platform processor provides system management, declaration management for public-subscribe, object management for registering and communicating status information of sensor objects, ownership management for property ownership sharing, time management for data synchronization, and data distribution management for Route information on data exchange.

In the field of display, a smart factory means more efficient display manufacturing using AI/BIG DATA technology not only for job automation, but also for existing process management, moving facilities, process abnormalities, and defect classification. In the past, when defects appeared in the display manufacturing process, the classification of defects and coping with process abnormalities were different, a lot of time was consumed for this. However, in the field of display manufacturing, advanced process equipment must be used, and it can be said that the competitiveness of the display manufacturing industry is to quickly identify the cause of defects and increase the yield. In this paper, we will summarize the cases in which smart factory AI/BIG DATA technology is applied to domestic display manufacturing, and analyze what advantages can be derived compared to existing methods. This information can be used as prior knowledge for improved smart factory development in the field of display manufacturing using AI/BIG DATA.

By applying AI-based efficient inventory management and logistics optimization technology using the smart factory's production plan and manufacturing data, the company's productivity improvement and customer satisfaction can be expected to increase. In this paper, we proposed a system that collects data from the factory's production process, stores it in the cloud, and uses the manufacturing data stored there to apply AI-based supply chain optimization technology later. While the existing system supported approximately 10 to 20 data types, the proposed system is designed and developed to support more than 100 data types. In addition, in the case of the collection cycle, data can be collected 1-2 times per second, and data collection in TB units is possible. Therefore This system is designed to be applied to the existing factory of past in addition to the smart factory.
In this paper, a speed controller using a controller is implemented and applied to a DC motor for FA ( Factory Automation ). The objective of this paper treats the analytical and experimental studies on the improvement of control circuit and control method using a SCR-LEONARD circuit for the speed control of DC motor. This system is concerned with stabilization of single input or single output systems, so the plant (SCR-LEONARD+DC motor) is simplified to the first order system. The parameters for the PID controller are obtained by the transient-response tunning method, and this control scheme has a backward-shift operator. The control algorithms (Chopper+transient response tunning) is used to check the performance of PID Controller through Computer simulations and experiments. The good experiment results show that the direct control of the DC motor applied to industrial field such oi factory automation.
This paper presents a six sigma application case study for an automobile steering wheel manufacturing process using rolled throughput yield improvement activity. Hidden factory and first pass yield concept is introduced and a DMAIC procedure is implemented to maximize the first pass yield. The result of the six sigma project amounts to the reduction of failure cost of 1.2 billion won per year in the steering wheel manufacturing process. This paper can benefit six sigma practitioners in some ways.

The paper deals with the development of the multi-layer plant production systems using a sunlight and LED. Nowadays most of plant production systems have been developed by plant factory using only LED. In case of plant factory using LED, however, the light quantity is not sufficient for various kinds of medicinal plants. In this paper, authors have tried to apply the both the luminous sources using a natural sunlight and an appropriate LED. During the daytime, a natural sunlight was applied using the Heliostat, while in the nighttime, LED was used. The proposed mixed plant production system was constructed under the various environmental conditions such as $CO_2$ distribution, temperature and humidity. Through the hybrid plant prodution systems, the growth of Ginseng plants were recorded and demonstrated by CCD camera and monitoring program.
In the last few years growing interest has been dedicated to supply chain management. Modeling complexity is added to supply chain coordination problem by accounting for reverse logistics activities. The objective of this paper is to extend inventory model of manufacturing factory with respect to the production of raw material of forward logistics and recycling material of reverse logistics. The proposed model is applied to a plastic recycling process plant located in Taiwan. The case study improvement scheme shows when the recycling rate of recycling material increases from 15% to 50%, the total inventory cost of manufacturing factory decreases by 12.82%, safety stock volume decreases by 41.19% and the reorder quantity is down by 50.96%. This paper finds whether the results of the model can reach the economic profit through quantitative analysis and encourages companies integrate reverse logistics into the supply chain system.
This paper presents an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) system and operation algorithms for logistic and factory facilities without magnet-lines installation. Unlike widely used AMR systems, we propose an EKF-based loosely coupled fusion of LiDAR measurements and visual markers. Our method first constructs occupancy grid and visual marker map in the mapping process and utilizes prebuilt maps for precise localization. Also, we developed a waypoint-based navigation pipeline for robust autonomous operation in unconstrained environments. The proposed system estimates the robot pose using by updating the state with the fusion of visual marker and LiDAR measurements. Finally, we tested the proposed method in indoor environments and existing factory facilities for evaluation. In experimental results, this paper represents the performance of our system compared to the well-known LiDAR-based localization and navigation system.
