Endogenous cannabinoids (endocannabinoids) display various pharmacological effects including pain control, anti-inflammation, and neuroprotection. The synthesis and release of endocannabinoids are regulated under both physiological and pathological conditions. The main degrading enzyme of endocannabinoid is fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH). Therefore we have developed the fluorescence-based assay system for FAAH. We established stable CosM6 cell lines expressing human FAAH. We also synthesized 2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl decanoate (DAEC) as a fluorogenic substrate for FAAH. When crude membrane extracts stably expressing FAAH was incubated with DAEC at $25^{\circ}C$, FAAH reacted specifically to DAEC and catalyzes the hydrolysis of DAEC into decanoic acid and highly fluorescent coumarin. Furthermore, the serin hydrolase inhibitor, phenylmethanesulfonylfluoride, inhibited the coumarin release to the reaction buffer in concentration dependent manner. This assay system is suitable for high-throughput screening since this system has simple experimental procedure and measurement method.
Purpose: The focus of this research was a systematic review of published articles and theses for a degree in Korea and foreign countries on rehabilitation therapy for patients with total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Methods: The literature until December in 2011 were searched and the data basis included Medline, CINAHL, KERIS, National Library of Korea, and National Assembly Library web sites. Words for the search were TKA or TKA and rehabilitation. Studies included randomized controlled and non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. 31 studies were analyzed focusing on type, application method, dependant variable and effect using descriptive statistics. Results: Seventeen rehabilitation therapies and forty-nine dependant variables were used. The application methods of rehabilitation therapy were diverse. The most frequently used rehabilitation type was an exercise therapy and a pain/discomfort was the most frequently used dependant variable. The effects of rehabilitation therapy were inconsistent. Conclusion: The individualized rehabilitation therapy must be comprised of type, time, frequency, period and duration. Attention must be made as to the research design, especially the better measurement of the dependent variables. This review may serve as a base for future research.
Objectives The present study retrospectively investigated clinical outcome of patients with structual scoliosis during Chuna treatment. Methods : The study population consisted of 34 patients(14 patients of adolescent and 20 patients of adult) who were diagnosised as scoliosis with radiological finding. All patients were treated with Chuna treatment, and after treatment, evaluated with radiological measurement by calculating the scoliosis correction angle from the Initial and follow-up spine AP and lateral views. Also the evaluation of clinical outcome was done twice pre and post treatment during this study. Results : The results were summarized as follows ; 1) The 85.3 percent of patients complained physical pain. and adult group had various painful lesion compared with adolescent group. 2) Adult group had treated $18.0{\pm}7.2$ times and adolescent group treated $13.5{\pm}5.7$ times with Chuna treatment. 3) Scoliotic angle is reduced in 92.9 percent of adolescent group and had all of adult group after Chuna treatment, especially, statistically significance appeared in adult group. 4) Adult group was superior to adolescent group in correctability and scoliotic angle change. 5) Correction effect was better in the group which initial scoliotic angle was lessor, or had more time of treatment. 6) According to grade of vertebral body rotation, scoliotic angle is larger and correctability was lower. Conclusions : Chuna treatment was efficacious against scoliosis. And it is necessary for adolescent scoliosis patient to be more carefully treated and observed.

As Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy is becoming a core competence more recently, many companies want a reliable CRM assessment system which enables measuring and diagnosing corporate customer strategies for building an optimized CRM strategy. However, there has been short of researches on developing the CRM diagnosis methodology that is directly applicable to real practices. Drawing upon the theoretical framework of CRM scorecard, we developed and suggested a corporate CRM diagnosis methodology that can systematically understand and assess the corporate CRM capability and performance, guiding their future directions. Companies can search the important but weak areas among various CRM strategy subjects through the proposed diagnostic procedures. This framework has a hierarchical structure that has four evaluative domains each of which has several evaluative subjects consisting of many evaluative themes: the score of upper factor is the weighted average of its subordinate factor scores. And the score of each evaluative theme is the weighted average of quantitative and qualitative evaluative indexes. Quantitative indexes are calculated by analyzing customer and sales data and qualitative ones are derived from survey data. Each evaluative index has more than one measure and its score can be derived from its own formula consisting of the measures. To prove the concept, we applied this framework to a real company and concluded that it might be appropriate to understand the corporate CRM strategy situation, find the pain points, and resolve them for better CRM implementation.
Purpose: We attempt to assess the differences in the degree of lumbar lordosis in patients with lower back pain caused by the herniation of the nucleus pulposus and in normal people (divided into male and female groups). Methods: This study was conducted with 14 patients (7 males, 7 females) diagnosed with, and being treated for, lumbar herniated nucleus pulposus and 14 normal people (7 males, 7 females). In order to examine the degree of lumbar lordosis in these subjects, hip flexor lengthening tests were conducted and the lumbar curves were measured in three postures (supine, sitting, and prone) and the results were compared. Results: The measured values of the curves for the standing and prone postures showed statistically significant differences between the normal group and the patient group, between the normal male group and the male patient group, and between the normal female group and the female patient group (p<0.05). Conclusion: The measurement method that uses flexible curve rulers in the standing or prone postures can be usefully utilized in assessing the lumbar lordosis of patients with lumbar herniation of the nucleus pulposus.
Nutcracker syndrome refers to the compression of the left renal vein between the abdominal aorta and superior mesenteric artery which can lead to renal vein hypertension. Patients can present with hematuria, proteinuria, dysuria or abdominal pain. In diagnosing the nutcracker syndrome, measurement of the peak velocity ratio of aorto-mesenteric border versus renal hilum by Doppler sonography is useful. Currently, there are few reports about the genetic correlation in this syndrome. We report two cases of the nutcracker syndrome found in male siblings with hematuria.
Objectives : The warm needling technique is the method combining the effects of acupuncture needle with those of moxibustion. We need to standardize the characteristics of the warm needling technique, in order to get more systematic and objective results in operation and effects and then get more clinical abilities in these fields. Methods : In this study, using labview system on the warm needling technique, we measured and compared partial temperature changes according to the kind of needle. We studied relations of moxa cones of various sizes with the peak combustion temperature. Results and Conclusions: When we measured the warm needling's partial temperature, temperature measured at 1 and 2 cm below the head, according to the kind of needle, gold needle got the higher result on the peak than SS304 stainless steel needle. In the case of combustion of the moxa cones, cones weighing 0.4 g and 0.8 g, respectively, and the apex ignition method with gold needle showed the higher result than the apex ignition method with stainless steel needle, when we measured the effective stimulus time at 2 cm below the head and the mean temperature during the effective stimulus time. Although more research to standardize the characteristics of the warm needling technique will be needed, we suggest, according to these results, that warm needling of gold needle combined with moxa cone of 0.4 or 0.8 g is effective.

Abeliophyllum distichum is a medicinal plant used in regional traditional medicine to relieve pain in inflammatory processes. In this study, anti-inflammatory effects of Abeliophyllum distichum stem (ADS) ethyl acetate extract were examined. Furthermore, possible molecular mechanisms of the anti-inflammatory effects were dissected. The anti-inflammatory activity was investigated by inhibition of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced pro-inflammatory cytokine production in murine macrophage-like cell line Raw264.7 cells and human microglial cell line BV2 cells. The measurement of the induced pro-inflammatory cytokine levels were carried out by ELISA. The phosphorylation of ERK1/2, JNK, and MAPK, and the nuclear expression of nuclear factor $NF-{\kappa}B$ p65 were investigated by Western blot analysis. The extract of ADS significantly decreased the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. In addition, the extract suppressed the phosphorylation of ERK1/2, JNK, and p38 MAPK, and the nuclear translocation of $NF-{\kappa}B$ p65 in activated cells. Our findings provide evidence for the popular use of Abeliophylli distichum in inflammation around Goesan region and also suggest that the stem extract has potential therapeutic benefits against several inflammatory diseases.

The purposes of this study are 1) to modify a self-help program for patients having fibromyalgia, 2) to revise instruments to measure the self-efficacy and impact of fibromyalgia; and 3) to test the effects of the program in terms of self-efficacy, physical activities, and clinical symptoms. The subjects of this study were persons diagnosed as fibromyalgia at a university hospital. For the first two purposes, six patients were selected. Twenty three subjects for the third purpose were selected and assigned to experimental and control group on the base of their residence. Thirteen were assigned to the experimental group, while 10 to the control group. Instruments selected for revision were self-efficacy scale and fibromyalgia impact profile. On the basis of the text developed by Arthritis Foundation, a program for patients with fibromyalgia was tentatively developed. Instruments for measurement of self-efficacy and impact of fibromyalgia were revised to show high reliabilities. Results obtained by utilization of the program were as follows : 1) There were no increase of self-efficacy and physical activities. 2) There were no improvement of the number of tender points and pain. 3) There were improvement of depression, fatigue and sleep impairment. These findings indicate the needs for modification of the program with emphasis of exercise for relaxation of tender points, increases of enactive action and vicarious learning.
