초전형 적외선식 불꽃감지기의 감도특성 개선 (Improving Sensitivity of the Pyroelectric Infrared Flame Detector)

  • PZT ceramics, usually used pyroelectric materials exhibited a relatively highly Curie temperture(Tc) of $250-450^{\circ}C$ and permittivity constant of 500-1600. In this paper, the pyroelectric infrared detectors are applied two different types of pyroelectric materials, that is tetragonal crystal of ferroelectric $PbTiO_3$ and rhombohedral crystal of $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$. PZT ceramics shows not only highly Curie temperture but also excellent pyro and piezoelectric properties at the Zr/Ti(=52/48) ratio. Therefor in this paper, the pyroelectric infrared detectors are applied PZT ceramics, and obtained sensitive sensing characteristics by expriment case studies.

  • Aging stabilities of the operating frequency of piezoelectric devices such as filter, oscillator and discriminator are very important. In this study it was studied aging stabilities of the length-extensional vibration mode of Pb(Zr$\_$y/Ti$\_$1-y/)O$_3$+x[wt%]Cr$_2$O$_3$ ceramics. PZT ceramics in Morphotropic phase boundary have higher aging rates of k$\_$31/ and resonant frequency than those in tetragonal phase or rhombohedral phase. Thermal aging moves the composition with maximum aging rate to Zr-rich side in Cr not added PZT system. Aging rate of resonant frequency of the ceramics with x=0.1, y=0.53 and x=0.3, y=0.53 increased by thermal aging.

  • In this paper, we have investigated the poling conditons depending upon the electric field and temperature for PZT ceramics with various stoichiometry prepared by wet direct method, and $MnO_2$ dopant. The electric field required for saturation polarization was plotted against temperature $(1,000/T^{\circ}K)$ so that the required field could be estimated at any given temperature by measuring the charge displaced during poling. From this curve it should be possible to predict the field required to produce maximum domain switching at temperature below the Curie temperature, when $MnO_2$ dopant was added to the PZT ceramics, the electric field required for saturation polarization was lowered than that of undoped PZT samples.

  • The practical applications of piezoelectric ceramics are applied not only under low electric field environment. Therefore, an examination for characteristics of PZT ceramics under the high electric field condition can contribute to reducing the susceptibility of multifarious applications and to facilitating production of control circuits. These contributions can lead to the expansion of industrial applications. In this research, we fabricated disk-type PZT ceramic samples using conventional methods, measured the resonance characteristics of these samples under from low to high voltage conditions and calculated the PZT constants.

  • PZT powders were prepared by the molten salt synthesis method. The porous PZT was preapred from the mixture of PZT and PVA powders by BURPS(BURnout plastic Sphere) technique. The acoustic properties with various plastic sphere wt.% were studied. The acoustic impedance of porous PZT was smaller than that of single phase PZT ceramics. And the pulse-reponse of porous PZT maded transducer was significantly advanced to that of solid PZT maded transducer.

PZT 요업체의 소결과정 중 승온속도가 미세조직에 미치는 영향 (Effect of heating Rate on the Microstructural Evolution during Sintering of PZT Ceramics)

  • The effect of heating rate on the microstructural evolution during sintering of PZT ceramics has been investigated. In case of PZT powder compacts containing excess of PbO, fast heating caused incomplete rearrangement of solid grains in a liquid, resulting in lower density and inhomogeneous pore shape ; on contrary, slow heating resulted in better densification. In contrast, in case of compacts without excess PbO, the densification was enhanced by fast heating due to suppression of the grain growth.

  • In this study, m order to develop multilayer ceramics vibrator for ultrasonic nozzle, PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics were fabricated using $Li_2CO_3-Na_2CO_3$ as sintering aids and their piezoelectric and dielectric characteristics were investigated according to the aomunt of PbO. With increasing PbO contents. secondary phases were increased and phase structure were changed from tetragonal structure to rhombohedral structure and also electromechanical coupling factor were linearly decreased. At the composition ceramics with the sintering temperature of $870^{\circ}C$ and 1 mol% excess PbO, density, electromechanical coupling factor, dielectric constant, piezoelectric d constant and mechanical quality factor showed the optimum value of $7.879g/cm^2$, 0.55, 1149, 328pC/N, 1224, respectively for multilayer ceramics vibrator application for ultrasonic nozzle.

  • $Pb(Zr_{0.525} Ti_{0.475})O_3$ piezoelectric ceramics both unmodified and doped with NiO were prepared by the conventional oxide techniques using sintering temperature from 900 to to 125$0^{\circ}C$. The difference in densification process between unmodified and NiO doped PZT ceramics was studied by shrinkage vs. firing temperatures and it was caused by increasing defect concentration in calcining process of NiO doped PZT ceramics. And nickel oxide solubility limit for $Pb(Zr_{0.525} Ti_{0.475})O_3$ ceramics is shown to be at the range from 0.2wt% to 0.5wt% from this defect model micro-structures dielectric and piezolectric properties of Nio doped PZT ceramics.

  • 수열합성법을 이용하여 $1~3\;\mu\textrm{m}$의 입자 크기를 갖는 균일한 $Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_{3}$ (PZT)분말을 제조하였다. 출발물질의 종류에 따라 반응조건이 다소 차이를 보였지만, 일반적으로 10 M의 KOH를 광화제로 사용하여, $180^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 2시간 동안 반응시켜 PZT 분말을 합성 할 수 있었다. 또한, 광화제의 농도, 수열반응 온도, 그리고 반응시간이 증가할수록 균일상의 분말이 형성됨을 보였다.

PNN 치환에 따른 PMW-PNN-PZT-BF 세라믹스의 미세구조와 압전 특성 (Microstructure and Piezoelectric Properties of Low Temperature Sintering PMW-PNN-PZT-BF Ceramics According to PNN Substitution)

  • In this work, [$Pb(Mg_{1/2}W_{1/2})_{0.03}(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_x(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})_{0.97-x}O_3-BiFeO_3$] (x=0.02 to 0.12) composition ceramics were fabricated by the conventional soild state reaction method and their microstructure and piezoelectric properties were investigated according to PNN substitution. The addition of small amount of $BiFeO_3$, $Li_2CO_3$, and $CaCO_3$ were used in order to decrease the sintering temperature of the ceramics. The XRD (x-ray diffraction patterns) of all ceramics exhibited a perovskite structure. The sinterability of PMW-PNN-PZT-BF ceramics was remarkably improved using liquid phase sintering of $CaCO_3$, $Li_2CO_3$. However, it was identified from of the X-ray diffraction patterns that the secondary phase formed in grain boundaries decreased the piezoelectric properties. According to the substitution of PNN, the crystal structure of ceramics is transformed gradually from a tetragonal to rhombohedral phase. The x=0.10 mol PNN-substituted PMW-PNN-PZT-BF ceramics sintered at $920^{\circ}C$ showed the optimum values of piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$), piezoelectric figure of merit($d_{33{\cdot}}g_{33}$), planar piezoelectric coupling coefficient($k_p$) and density : $d_{33}=566$ [pC/N], $g_{33}=29.28[10^{-3}mV/N]$, $d_{33{\cdot}}g_{33}=16.57[pm^2/N]$, $k_p=0.61$, density=7.82 [$g/cm^3$], suitable for duplex ultrasonic sensor application.
