소성온도 변화에 따른 PNW-PMN-PZT세라믹스의 미세구조 및 압전 특성 (Microstructural and Piezoelectric Characteristics of PNW-PMN-PZT Ceramics with the variations of sintering temperature)

  • In this study, microstructure and piezoelectric characteristics of PNW-PMN-PZT ceramics manufactured using attrition milling method were investigated. Sintering temperature of the ceramics was varied from 1180$^{\circ}C$ to 1240$^{\circ}C$ .With increasing sintering temperature, dielectric constant was increased. In the specimen sintered at 1120$^{\circ}C$, electromechemical coupling factor(Kp) and density showed the maxinum values of 0.546 and 7.78(g/$\textrm{cm}^2$), respectively In the specimen sintered at 1160$^{\circ}C$, mechanical quality factor(Qm) also showed the maximum value of 1,943.

  • $Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.07}(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.10}(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})_{0.83}O_3$ composition ceramics with high piezoelectric properties were fabricated by the columbite precursor method for ultrasonic generators, and the effects of sintering temperature on microstructure and piezoelectric properties were systematically investigated. It was found that the tetragonality of the ceramics decreased with increase in sintering temperature. Moreover, excellent physical properties such as $d_{33}=447pC/N$, ${\varepsilon}_r=1,843$, $k_p=0.641$, and $Q_m=1,207$ were obtained for an ultrasonic generator when the second calcination temperature and sintering temperature were $720^{\circ}C$ and $920^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • In this study, in order to develop low temperature sintering ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric actuator application. At the PMN-PZN-PZT ceramics, the influence of the ball-mill time on piezoelectric characteristics was investigated. All the specimens improved according to the increase of the ball-mill time increase. The specimen showed the optimum value when ball-mill time is 60 hour. Their optimum values were density=$7.93g/m^3$, ${\varepsilon}_r=1371$, kp=0.551, Qm=1609, $d_{33}=321pC/N$, respectively.

  • In this study, in order to develop low temperature sintering ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric actuator application, PMN-PZN-PZT ceramics were manufactured as a function of the amount of CuO addition and their dielectric and piezoelectric characteristics were investigated. With the amount of CuO addition, the physical characteristics of specimens decreased. The specimens showed the optimum value at 0.5wt%CuO addition. Their optimum values were density=$7.93g/m^3$, ${\varepsilon}_r$=1398, kp=0.560, Qm=1706, $d_{33}$=327pC/N, respectively.

  • In this study, in order to develop low temperature sintering ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric actuator, sensers, transducers, PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics were manufacrtured with the sintering temperature, and their piezoelectric and dielectric properties were investigated. At the composition ceramics sintered at $900^{\circ}C$, desity, dielectric constant$({\varepsilon}_r)$, electromechanical coupling factor(kp), piezoelectric constant$(d_{33})$ and mechanical quality factor(Qm) showed the optimal value of $7.86g/cm^3$, 1417, 0.634, 410pC/N and 1138, respectively.

  • PZT세라믹스는 높은 압전특성과 우수한 큐리온도($400^{\circ}C$)를 보유하고 있어 오래시간에 걸쳐 주목받고 있다. 현재 압전변압기, 액츄에이터, 센서등의 압전소자는 PZT를 이용하여 제작하고 있지만 PZT는 고온 소결시 PbO의 휘발이 환경오염을 초래하며 인체의 유해하다는 연구결과가 나왔다. 이에 최근에는 PbO가 포함 되지않은 무연(lead-free)계 압전세라믹스가 주목받고 있다. 무연 압전 세라믹스의 종류로는 Bi-layer-structured ceramics, Bi-perovskite type ceramics, NKN base ceramics 가 존재하고 있다. 그 중 $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3(NKN)$ 세라믹스는 높은 큐리온도와($400^{\circ}C$)와 높은 전기기계 결합계수(약 36%)를 보유하고 있어 많은 연구가 이루어 지고 있다. 하지만 NKN은 PZT에 비하여 치밀성이 낮으며 일반적인 산화물 소결방법으로는 밀도를 높이기가 어려운 단점이 존재한다. 이를 개선하기 위한 방법으로 hot pressing와 spak plasma sintering, RTGG와 같은 방법으로 밀도를 높일수 있지만 비용이 많이 들어 일반적으로 사용이 어렵다. 다른 방법으로 NKN에 첨가물을 넣는 방법을 사용하고 있는데 방법으로 $LiNbO_3$, $LiTiO_3$, $LiSbO_5$를 첨가하여 개선하는 방법이 있다. 본 실험은 첨가물을 넣는 방식으로 비화학양론적 $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})_{0.97}(Nb_{0.9}Ta_{0.1})O_3(NKNT)$조성에 CuO를 mol%로 변화주어 유전 및 압전 특성을 조사하였다.

  • Temperature stabilities of resonance frequencies of the substrates are very important in piezoelectric ceramics oscillators and fitters. In this study, it was investigated thermal resisting property of the length-extensional vibration mode of PZT ceramics. The mode can be utilized in fabricating ultra-small 55 kHz IF devices. We fabricated the ceramic specimens with x = 0.51, 0.52, 0.53, 0.54, and 0.55 in the Pb(Zr$\sub$x/Ti$\sub$1-x/)O$_3$ system. And their resonance frequencies were measured before 1st thermal aging, after 1st and 2nd thermal aging. In order to investigate the influence of thermal aging on thermal resisting properties, thermally aged specimens were once mote thermally aged. Before 1st thermal aging, the specimens of the compositions with morphotropic phase, x = 0.53 and rhombohedral phase, x = 0.54 have weak thermal resisting property of resonance frequency, while tetragonal phase, x = 0.51 has robust thermal resisting property of resonance frequency. 1st thermal aging improved thermal resisting property of resonance frequency in all specimens.

첨가제에 의한 PZT세라믹의 전기적 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the electrical characteristic of PZT ceramics with additive.)

  • This paper is the study for electrical characteristic of PZT ceramics with Sb$_2$O$_3$, CoO additive. Effect of Sb$_2$O$_3$, CoO additive ranged from 0.0 wt% to 1.2wt% on the electrical characteristic of the PZT ceramics have been investigated. In the case of Sb$_2$O$_3$ 0.6wt%, the maximum vague of mechanical quality factor(Qm) was obtained 124.11 at l15$0^{\circ}C$. And, additive CoO 1.2wt% was obtained 184.12 at l15$0^{\circ}C$. The electromechanical coupling factor(kp) was increased by increasing the amount of Sb$_2$O$_3$, CoO additive. The maximum value of electromechanical coupling factor(kp) was obtained 58.35 with Sb$_2$O$_3$1.2wt% additive at l15$0^{\circ}C$. Dopped with additive CoO 0.9wt%, electromechanical coupling factor(kp) was obtained 47.84 at 115$0^{\circ}C$.

  • The Piezoelectric ceramics for AE(Acoustic Emission) sensor are desired large electromechanical coupling factor, high mechanical quality factor and good characteristic resonance frequency. In this study, the empirical formula of specimens is used $0.9Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3-0.1Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{1/3}Sb_{1/3})O_3$ (PZT-PMNS). The piezoelectric and dielectric characteristic are investigated by sintering temperature and value of x as functions of $Ti^{2+},\;Zi^{2+}$ mol rate. MPB(morphotropic Phase boundary) is defined in the x=0.522. Because it is appeared to the best piezoelectric and dielectric characteristic in the x=0.522, it can be application by AE sensor. PZT-PMNS ceramics without pre-amplifier and filter are tested for detecting of arc signal. The detection characteristic is evaluated wave form, frequency distribution.

분극방향에 따른 PZT 세라믹스의 압전특성 및 압축파괴강도의 변화 (Variations of Piezoelectric Properties and Compressive Strength of PZT Ceramics with Poling Directions)

  • Variations of piezoelectric properties and compressive strength of Sr-doped PZT ceramics were investigated with poling direction. The electro-mechanical coupling constants (k31 and k33) were increased linearly with increasing poling strength. The volume fraction of intergranular fracture also increased with incresing poling strength due to weakening of grain boundaries by domain rearrangement during poling process. The internal stresses induced from the poling at 2.5 kV/mm parallel and perpendicular to the poling direction poled were 405 MPa and 89 MPa, respectively. The compressive strength of the specimen poled parallel to the poling direction was higher than that perpendicular to the poling direction.
