We developed nano-porous $TiO_2-SiO_2$ composites (commercial name : PTI, porous titania insulator) with low thermal conductivity as thermal insulating material as well as function of photocatalyst. The objectives of this paper are, firstly, to evaluate of the thermal conductivity of the PTI powder in the temperature range from -160 to $250^{\circ}C$, secondly to evaluate of thermal conductivities of insulation materials that is applied PTI powder. The structure of the PTI powder that has the pores size of 20-30 nm and the particle diameter of 2-10 nm. The PTI had a high surface area of $400m^2/g$ and a mean pore size of $45{\AA}$, which was fairly uniform. The thermal conductivity was measured by GHP(guarded hot plate) method and HFM(heat flux method). The PTI structure is a three-dimensional network nano-structures composed by a pearl-necklace that involved a precious stone in the center of the necklace. The thermal conductivities of PTI-PX powder by the GHP and HFM were 0.0366 W/m.K, 0.0314 W/m.K at $20^{\circ}C$, respectively. This is similar to values that are proportional to the square of the absolute temperature of the thermal conductivity of static air. The thermal conductivities of insulating sheets coated with PTI powder were similar results with that of the PTI powder.

Objectives: Previous studies have reported that people with disabilities are more likely to be impoverished and affected by excessive medical costs than people without disabilities. Public transfer income (PTI) reduces financial strain in low-income households. This study examined the impact of PTI on catastrophic health expenditures (CHE), focusing on low-income households and households with Medical Aid beneficiaries that contained people with disabilities. Methods: We constructed a panel dataset by extracting data on registered households with disabilities from the Korea Welfare Panel Study 2012-2019. We then used a generalized estimating equation model to estimate the impacts of PTI on CHE. A subgroup analysis was carried out to assess the moderating effects of family income levels and health insurance types. Results: As PTI increased, the odds ratio (OR) of CHE in households that contained people with disabilities decreased significantly (OR, 0.92; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.89 to 0.94; p<0.001). In particular, PTI effectively reduced the likelihood of CHE for low-income households (OR, 0.85; 95% CI, 0.81 to 0.89; p<0.001) and those who received medical benefits (OR, 0.78; 95% CI, 0.68 to 0.89; p<0.001). Conclusions: This study highlights the positive effect of PTI on decreasing CHE. Household income and the health insurance type were significant effect modifiers, but economic barriers seemed to persist among low-income households with non-Medical Aid beneficiaries. Federal policies or programs should consider increasing the total amount of PTI targeting low-income households with disabilities that are not covered by the Medical Aid program.
Spoken sound includes not only speaker's source but the characteristics of vocal tract and speech radiation. This paper is based on the theory of Park[1], who proposes the Phonation Type Index k; a variable that shows the characteristic of speaker's source excluding those of speaker's vocal tract and speech radiation. With Park's theory, we collect data by changing recording environments and expanding experimental data, and analyze the data collected to see whether or not the PTI k shows good discriminating power as a variable for speaker recognition. In the experiment, we repeatedly record 8 sentences ten times for each of 5 males in the environment of a recording room and an office, extract PTI k for each speaker, and measure the discriminating power for each speaker by using the value of PTI k. The result shows that PTI k has the excellent discriminating power of speakers. We also confirm that, even if the recording environment is changed, PTI k shows similar results.

Polyazomethine type conjugated copolymers containing phenanthridine units, poly(PZ-PTI), were synthesized by Schiff-base reaction. This new conjugated copolymer exhibited improved solubility in common organic solvents due to the presence of alkyl side chains as well as phenanthridine groups. Double layer (ITO/poly(PZ-PTI)/$Alq_3$/Mg) light emitting diode (LED) exhibited enhanced EL emission and efficiency compared to that of single layer (ITO/poly(PZ-PTI)/Mg) LED. With increasing the thickness of $Alq_3$ layer in double layer (ITO/poly(PZ-PTI)/$Alq_3$/Mg) LED the emission peak gradually shifted to the single layer (ITO/$Alq_3$/Mg) LED, confirming good hole transporting behaviour of the synthesized conjugated copolymer.
A promising new approach to achieve low pollutants emission and improvement of flame stabilities is tested experimentally using a hybrid cyclone jet combustor employing both premixed and diffusion combustion mode, Three kind of nozzles are used for LNG(Liquified Natural Gas) as a fuel. The combustor is operated by two method, One is ATI(Air Tangential Injection) mode, generated swirl flow by air as general swirl combustor, and the other is PTI(Premixed gas Tangential Injection) mode, The PTI mode consists of diffusion flame of axial direction and premixed cyclone flame of tangential direction in order to stabilized the diffusion flame. The results showed that the stable region of the PTI mode is more larger than the ATI mode. In addition, the reduction of NOx emission in PTI mode, as compared with that for the ATI mode is at least 50% in stable region. Also, even using the low calorific fuel as $CO_2$-blended gas, the cyclone jet combustor has high performance of flame stability.
In this paper, the comparison and analysis of PTI and IEEE data formats are conducted. and the algorithm and the developed program for data conversion between these data formats are proposed. PTI and IEEE data formats are widely used as the input data form of the software program for power systems. However, they are composed of different formation with each other. So, it is necessary to convert between two formats in order to use more programs with different input data format. Numerical results of the power flow calculation of the test system show that developed program is effective and useful.

Objective: To analyze the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) of femoral artery pseudoaneurysm (FAP), identify a suitable location and timing for percutaneous thrombin injection (PTI) based on this analysis, and report our clinical experience with the procedure. Materials and Methods: CFD can be used to analyze the hemodynamics of the human body. An analysis using CFD recommended that the suitable location of the needle tip for PTI is at the center of the aneurysm sac and the optimal timing for starting PTI is during the early inflow phase of blood into the sac. Since 2011, seven patients (three male and four female; median age, 60 years [range, 43-75 years]) with FAP were treated with PTI based on the devised suitable location and time. Prior to the procedure, color Doppler ultrasonography was performed to determine the location and timing of the thrombin injection. Results: The technical success rate of the PTI was 100%. The amount of thrombin used for the procedure ranged from 200 IU to 1000 IU (median, 500 IU). None of the patients experienced any symptoms or signs of embolic complications during the procedure. Follow-up CT images did not reveal any embolism in the lower extremities and showed complete thrombosis of the pseudoaneurysm. Conclusion: Based on our study of CFD, PTI administered centrally in the FAP during early inflow, as seen on color Doppler, can be an effective technique.

In the interaction between plants and pathogens, carbon (C) resources provide energy and C skeletons to maintain, among many functions, the plant immune system. However, variations in C availability on pathogen associated molecular pattern (PAMP) triggered immunity (PTI) have not been systematically examined. Here, three types of starch mutants with enhanced susceptibility to Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 hrcC were examined for PTI. In a dark period-dependent manner, the mutants showed compromised induction of a PTI marker, and callose accumulation in response to the bacterial PAMP flagellin, flg22. In combination with weakened PTI responses in wild type by inhibition of the TCA cycle, the experiments determined the necessity of C-derived energy in establishing PTI. Global gene expression analyses identified flg22 responsive genes displaying C supply-dependent patterns. Nutrient recycling-related genes were regulated similarly by C-limitation and flg22, indicating re-arrangements of expression programs to redirect resources that establish or strengthen PTI. Ethylene and NAC transcription factors appear to play roles in these processes. Under C-limitation, PTI appears compromised based on suppression of genes required for continued biosynthetic capacity and defenses through flg22. Our results provide a foundation for the intuitive perception of the interplay between plant nutrition status and pathogen defense.

In Korea, five major ports have been designated as sulfur oxide emission control areas to reduce air pollutant emissions, in accordance with Article 10 of the "Special Act on Port Air Quality" and Article 32 of the "Ship Pollution Prevention Regulations". As regulations against vessel-originated air pollutants (such as PM, CO2, NOx, and SOx) have been strengthened, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries(MOF) enacted rules that newly built public ships should adopt eco-friendly propulsion systems. However, particularly in diesel-electric hybrid propulsion systems, the demand for precise control schemes continues to grow as the fuel saving rate significantly varies depending on the control strategy applied. The conventional Power Take In-Power Take Off(PTI - PTO) mode control adopts a rule-based strategy, but this strategy is applied only in the low-load range and PTI mode; thus, an additional method is required to determine the optimal fuel consumption point. The proposed control method is designed to optimize fuel consumption by applying the equivalent consumption minimization strategy(ECMS) to the PTI - PTO mode by considering the characteristics of the specific fuel oil consumption(SFOC) of the engine in a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system. To apply this method, a specific fishing vessel model operating on the Korean coast was selected to simulate the load operation environment of the ship. In this study, a 10.2% reduction was achieved in the MATLAB/SimDrive and SimElectric simulation by comparing the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the ship to which the conventional rule-based strategy was applied and that to which the ECMS was applied.
