1. Objectives and Methods The purpose of this study was to objectify the diagnosis of Sasang Constitution. 63 Male Juvenile's and 151 Female Juvenile's sentences were analyzed into 73 factors like Pitch, APQ, Shimmer, Octave and Energy, etc. Juvenile's sentences were classified into 6 categories: total Male Juvenile group, under 12 years old Male Juvenile grout, over 13 years old Male Juvenile group, total Female Juvenile group, under 12 years old Female Juvenile group and over 13 years old Female Juvenile group. 2. Results 1) In Total Male Juvenile group, there were no significant differences among constitutional groups in APQ and Octave segment. Taeumin's Center freq.(3) was significantly high compared with Soyangin group. Soeumin's Center freq.(5) was significantly high compared with Soyangin and Taeumin groups. Taeumin's Octave3 Shimmer was significantly high compared with Soeumin group. Soeumin's Octave6 Shimmer was significantly high compared with Taeumin group. Solyangin's D# Tot E was significantly high compared with Taeumin group. 2) In Under 12 years old Male Juvenile group, there were on significantly among constitutional groups in Pitch, APQ, Octave and Energy segment. Taeumin's Octave3 Shimmer and G Shimmer(1) were significantly high compared with Soeumin group. 3) In Over 13 years old Male Juvenile group, there were no signigicant differences among constitutional groups in Pitch, APQ and Shimmer segment. Soyangin's and Soeumin's Octave6 were significantly high compared with Taeumin group. Soyangin's $0k{\sim}2k$ Total Sum, $0k{\sim}2k$ Dev., $2k{\sim}4k$ Total Sum, $2k{\sim}4k$ Dev., A Dev.(1), D# Dev.(1) and G# Dev.(1) were significantly high compared with Taeumin group. Soyangin's and Soeumin's G# Tot E were significantly high compared with Taeumin group. 4) In Total Female Juvenile group, there were no significant differences among constitutional groups in Pitch and APQ segment. Soeumin's Octave4 Shimmer was significantly high compared with Soyangin group. Soyangin's Octave6 was significantly high compared with Soeumin group. Solyangin's 2k-4k Total Sum and B Tot E were significantly high compared with Soeumin group. 5) In Under 12 years old Female Juvenile group, there were no significant differences among constitutional groups in APQ and Energy segment. Soeumin's and Taeumin's Center Pitch and Pitch were significantly high compared with Soyangin group. Soyangin's Center freq.(1) and Center freq.(7) were significantly high compared with Soeumin and Taeeunin groups. Soyangin's and Taeumin's B Shimmer(1) and F# Shimmer(1) were significantly high compared with Soeumin group. Soeumin's D Shimmer(1) was significantly high compared with Soyangin group. Taeumin's and Soeumin's G# Shimmer(1) were significantly high compared with Soyangin group. Soyangin's and Taeumin's Octave2 were significantly high compared with Soeumin group. 6) In Over 13 years old Female Juvenile group, there were no significant differences among constitutional groups in Pitch, APQ and Octave segment. Soeumin's Octave4 Shimmer was significantly high compared with Soyangin group. Soyangin's B Dev.(1) and F Dev.(1) were significantly high compared with Soeumin group. 3. Conclusions In juvenile groups, some sound factors are regarded as useful. PSSC are thought to be the objertive way to diagnose the Consitution and more participants are needed to get more efficiencies using PSSC.

1. Objectives and Methods This study was performed to know the relationship between Sasang Constitution and characteristics of ordinary symptoms, inspection diagnosis of face and tongue. There were 666 participants(280 men and 386 women) who answered Sasang Constitutional Checkup list and were taken pictures of faces and tongues. Sasang Constitution was diagnosed by only PSSC(Phonetic System for Sasang Constitution). Distribution of Sasang Constitution and X2 test, kappa value for agreement were calculated using SPSS 10.0. 2. Results From characteristics of ordinary symptoms' point of view, Taeeumin had loud voices, big body shapes and easily sweated themselves. They felt good after sweating and had warm hands and feet. And their upper back, shoulders and chest were, they thought, well developed. They were apt to have meals quickly and overeat themselves. Soyangin and Soeumin had thin body shapes and were difficult to sweat themselves and felt powerless after sweating. They had cold hands and feet. Especially, Soeumin was apt to have meals slowly and a little amounts. They walked so fast. Soyangin was introvert and had developed their abdomen and waist. 'Looking heavy and steady' was higher in Taeeumin, 'delicate and modest' was higher in Soeumin(42.8%) and Soyangin(36.1 %) in first impression. It was thought to be difficult to discriminate Soyangin from Soeumin in first impression and make a notion of right Soyangin's first impression. Soyangin had pinky tongue color and little tongue fur whereas Soeumin had red tongue color and whitish tongue fur. Taeeumin had whitish tongue fur too. 3. Conclusions To diagnose Sasang Constitution much effectively, PSSC results and comprehensive Sasang Constitutional Checkup list extracted from effective Questionnaire items and Face and Tongue Inspection Diagnosis are thought to be needed.

1. Objectives The purpose of this study was to objectively diagnose American male and female's production of two vowels /a, i/ by Sasang Constitution. 2. Methods It was analyzed the constitutional characteristics of the American adults voices with PSSC-2004. of 134 cases of vowels /a, i/ with a duration of $2.5{\sim}3$ seconds were inputted in PSSC-2004 and analyzed into 40 factors. 3. Results and Conclusions 1) APQ In the male group's production of vowel /a/, the Soyangin's APQ(l), APQ(3) and APQ(4) were significantly high compared with those of Taeumin and Soeumin. 2) Shimmer In the male group's production of vowel /a/, Soeumin's Octave1 Shimmer was significantly low compared with that of Taeumin and Soeumin. In the male group's production of vowel /i/, Soeumin's D-Shimmer was significantly low compared with that of Taeumin and Soeumin. In the female group's production of vowel /a/, the Soyangin's C-Shimmer was significantly high compared with that of Taeumin and Soeumin. 3) Octave In the male group's production of vowel /a/, the Soyangin's Octave3, Octave4, Octave5, Octave6 and Octave1 Ratio were significantly high compared with those of Taeumin and Soeumin. In the male group's production of vowels /a, i/, the Soyangin's Octave4 was significantly high compared with that of Taeumin and Soeumin. 4) Energy In the male group's production of vowel /a/, the Soyangin's Time Domain Total Sum /Time Domain Count, Freq Domain Total Sum /cnt(0), 0k-4k Total Sum, Dev., A(A#, C, E, D#, E, F#) tot E, and A(C,, D#, F#) Dev. were significantly high compared with those of Taeumin and Soeumin. In the male group's production of vowel /i/, the Soyangin's Time Domain Total Sum /Time Domain Count, Freq Domain Total Sum /cnt(0) and 0k-4k Total Sum, Dev. were significantly high compared with those of Taeumin and Soeumin. 5) Peak In the male group's production of vowels /a/ and /i/,, the Soyangin's Peak1 Ratio was significantly low compared with that of Taeumin and Soeumin. In the male group's production of vowels /a/ and /i/,, the Soyangin's Peak10 Ratio, Time Domain Peak Total/Total Energy Sum, Time Domain Peak Dev. and Total/Total Dev. Sum were significantly high compared with those of Taeumin and Soeumin. 6) It is necessary to expand the research of the acoustic analysis of American and Korean to other countries in the diagnosis of the Sasang Constitution by using the voice characteristics.

상어 collagens(SC)(ASSC: 산가용성 껍질 collagen, ASMC: 산가용성 육 collagen, PSSC: pepsin 가용성 껍질 collagen, PSMC: pepsin 가용성 육 collagen)의 항산화성, 항균성, tyrosinase 및 elstase 저해활성을 표품(시판 marine collagen)과 비교하였다. SC($1{\sim}5\;mg/mL$)의 전자공여능은 $14.91{\sim}17.21%$로 표품의 $4.82{\sim}5.48%$에 비하여 $3.0{\sim}3.6$배가 높았다. SC($5{\sim}80\;mg/mL$)의 SOD활성은 4.67${\sim}37.28%$로 STMC 보다 $1.9{\sim}5.9$배가 높았다. SC의 S. aureus와 S. enteritidis에 대한 최소저해농도(MIC)는 $5{\mu}g$/disc로 표품의 $200{\mu}g$/disc보다 현저하게 낮았다. E. coli에 대한 MIC는 ASSC 및 ASMC에서는 $200{\mu}g$/disc인 반면 PSSC 및 PSMC는 $100{\mu}g$/disc이었으며 표품에서는 항균활성이 없었다. S. aureus에 대한 항균력은 PSMC가, S. enteritidis에 대한 항균력은 ASMC가, E. coli에 대한 항균력은 PSMC가 가장 높았다. SC($3{\sim}5\;mg/mL$)의 tyrosinase 저해활성은 $58.95{\sim}98.16%$로 표품의 $17.67{\sim}26.25%$보다 $3.34{\sim}3.74$배가 높았다. SC의 elastase 저해활성은 농도가 0.5 mg/mL에서 1 mg/mL으로 높아짐에 따라 비례적으로 증가하였고 1 mg/mL에서의 활성도는 $53.33{\sim}80.00%$로 STMC의 50.67% 보다 높았으며 PSSC에서 가장 높은 저해활성을 나타내었다. 산 및 pepsin 가용성의 모든 상어 collagen은 STMC에 비하여 $1.1{\sim}4.0$배의 높은 활성을 나타내었다. 이상의 결과 상어 collagens은 시판 marine collagen보다 항산화성, 항균성, tyrosinase 및 elastase 저해활성이 우수하여 새로운 기능성 소재로서의 활용성이 기대된다.

The 1st and 2nd tension forces of the PSSC(Prestressed Steel and Concrete) girder constructed with commercial rolling beams and concrete are optimally designed. The design variables are the 1st and 2nd tension forces due to multi-step prestressing and live load. The objective function is set to the maximum live load. Design conditions are allowable stress at the top and bottom of slab, beam and infilled concrete due to a construction step. An Optimization of Matlab based program Is developed. The results show that the tendon position and concrete compression strength etc are important.

1. Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between adiponectin and metabolic syndrome according to Sasang Constitution. 2. Methods: Six hundred sixty six participants were included in this cohort study. Sex, age, BMI(Body Mass Index), smoking, drinking, adiponectin level and Metabolic syndrome components were considerd. Sasang constitutional diagnosis was carried out by a sasang constitutional specialist using photos, questionnaires and PSSC(Phonetic System for Sasang Classification). 3. Results: In binary logistic analysis after adjustment of age, sex, BMI, smoking, drinking, adiponectin level and sasang constitution were related with Metabolic syndrome. 4. Conclusions: We suggest that adiponectin and sasang constitution are the important biomarker in Metabolic syndorme.

The developments of science education until the middle of the 20th century were often driven by personal ideas and achievements of some influential individual scientists (e.g. T. H. Huxley, H. E. Armstrong. L. Hogben, J. Conant). while that of the 2nd half of the 20th century can be characterized as collective efforts through various research grou ps of science educators (e.g. PSSC, HPP, Nuffield, SATIS). In this respect, John Tyndall(1820-1894), a physicist of the Victorian England best known as Tyndall's Effect, can be considered as one of the great scientists who made a big influence on science teaching and the popularization of science before science secured its place in school curricula. Tyndall worked as a research scientist at the Royal Institution of London, where various lectures and demonstrations of physical sciences were regularly performed for general public, and he was particularly famous for his fascinating physics demonstrations. In this study, we summarize his activities and achievements as a teacher as well as a popularizer of physics, illustrate some of his famous demonstrations and his ideas concerning physics teaching and discuss their implications to today's physics education.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is the research of the 2D:4D ratio and its correlation with the Sasang constitution and the MBTI preference types. Methods: A measurement of the 2D:4D ratios of 101 South Korean medical students was performed, the QSCC-II and PSSC-2004 were used to diagnose the Sasang constitution, and MBTI testing was performed to classify the preference types. Results: In the relationship between the Sasang constitution and the 2D:4D ratios, a statistically significant difference is absent in the 2D:4D ratios of the group comprising both sexes in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin. A statistically significant difference is also lacking in the 2D:4D ratios of the male-only group in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin. The 2D:4D ratios are higher in the female group only, but again a statistically significant difference is absent. In the 2D:4D ratios according to the MBTI preference type, the 2D:4D ratios of the I, S, F, and P types are higher in the unisex group, but a significant difference is not evident. The 2D:4D ratios of the E, N, F, and P types are higher in the male-only group, but again a significant difference is not evident. In the female-only group, the mean of the 2D:4D ratios of the I, S, F, and P types is higher, but a significant difference is not identifiable. Conclusions: The Sasang constitution and the MBTI preference types did not show statistically significant differences regarding the 2D:4D ratios of the male, female, and unisex groups.

1. Objectives: This study is to investigate the association of Sasang Constitution and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). 2. Methods: One thousand five hundred forty five persons, more than 40 years old, participated in the community based cohort in Wonju City and Pyeongchang City of South Korea from October 29th in 2007 to February 26th in 2008. The diagnosis of COPD was confirmed by spirometry and based on the diagnostic criteria developed by GOLD (Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease) standard. Relating items like height, weight, BMI(Body Mass Index), martial status, income, drinking, smoking and education were checked using questionnaires and Sasang Constitution was diagnosed by a specialist using PSSC(Phonetic System for Sasang Constitution), facial photos and check-up lists. 3. Results: There were 88 persons(5.7%) who had mild COPD. Old age(more than 60's) and male were significant risk factors of COPD. But smoking, drinking and Sasang Constitution were not risk factors of COPD. But there were many Soeumin who had mild COPD in terms of Sasang Constitution irrespective of sex. 4. Conclusions: Low BMI(<23kg/m2) and low income also were significant risk factors. And Sasang Constitution might be the variable to manage COPD patients, but more researches are needed.

1. Objectives This Study recognize of the 17th Korean Assemblymen's Sasang Constitutional distribution and investigates Sasang Constitutional distribution of special group. 2. Methods The Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution was distributed to Korean Assemblymen's. The next, 2 persons of Sasang Constitutional Specialist interview directly, record of Korean Assemblymen's voice with PSSC and then concluded Sasang Constitution. 3. Results 1. After analysed Sasang Constitution with Questionnaire, We acquired zero person Taeyangin, sixteen persons Soyangin, nine persons Taeumin, zero person Soeumin. But, after direct interview examination, We acquired one person Taeyangin, seven persons Soyangin, twenty-two persons Taeumin, five persons Soeumin. 2. Soyangin rates was 20% practically, but Soyangin rates of amination with Questionnaire was 46%. Because Soyangin in Korean Assemblymen's expressed extrovert for oneself. 3. Taeumin constituted nineteen persons with Questionnaire, accounted for 54%. But Taeumin constituted twenty-two persons in direct interview examination, accounted for 63%. 4. Conclusions 1. In Uri Patty, Soyangin rates was 21%, Taeumin rates was 63%, Soeumin rates was 16%, Taeyangin rates was 0 %. The group of Taeyangin and Soyangin with activity and progression marked 21 %, the group of Taeumin and Soeumin with conservativeness marked 79%. 2. Grand National Parry, Soyangin rates was 14%, Taeumin rates was 64.3%, Soeumin rates was 14.3%, Taeyangin rates was 7.1 %. The group of Taeyangin and Soyangin with activity and progression marked 21.6%, the group of Taeumin and Soeumin with conservativeness marked 78.6%. 3. In comparison Uri Patty with Grand National Party, the rates of active Constitution marked 21.0% and 21.6% be much of a muchness. and in comparison Uri Parry with Grand National Parry, the rates of conservative Constitution marked 79.0% and 78.6% be much of a muchness.
