In this paper, we propose a new super-resolution technique based on interpolation of the high-frequency subband images obtained by discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and the input image. The proposed technique uses DWT to decompose an image into different subband images. Then the high-frequency subband images and the input low-resolution image have been interpolated, followed by combining all these images to generate a new super-resolved image by using inverse DWT. The proposed technique has been tested on Lena, Elaine, Pepper, and Baboon. The quantitative peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and visual results show the superiority of the proposed technique over the conventional and state-of-art image resolution enhancement techniques. For Lena's image, the PSNR is 7.93 dB higher than the bicubic interpolation.

Image steganography is one of the key types of steganography where a message to be sent is hidden inside the cover image. The most commonly used techniques for image steganography rely on LSB steganography. In this paper, a novel image steganography technique based on blocks matrix determinant method is proposed. Under this method, a cover image is divided into blocks of size $2{\times}2$ pixels and the determinant of each block is calculated. The comparison of the determinant values and corresponding data bits yields a delicate way for the embedment of data bits. The main aim of the proposed technique is to ensure concealment of secret data inside an image without affecting the cover image quality. When the proposed steganography method is compared with other existing LSB steganography methods, it is observed that it not only provides higher PSNR, lower MSE but also guarantees better quality of the stego image.

There is the spatial correlation of the video sequence between the motion vector of current blocks. In this paper, we propose the enhanced fast block matching algorithm using the spatial correlation of the video sequence and the center-biased properly of motion vectors. The proposed algorithm determines an exact motion vector using the predicted motion vector from the adjacent macro blocks of the current frame and the Cross-Hexagonal search pattern. From the of experimental results, we can see that our proposed algorithm outperforms both the prediction search algorithm (NNS) and the fast block matching algorithm (CHS) in terms of the search speed and the coded video's quality. Using our algorithm, we can improve the search speed by up to $0.1{\sim}38%$ and also diminish the PSNR (Peak Signal Noise Ratio) by at nst $0.05{\sim}2.5dB$, thereby improving the video qualify.

In this paper, we proposed a multi-viewer system with multiple HD cameras based AVB(Audio Video Bridge) ethernet cable using IP networking, and FPGA(Xilinx Zynq 702) for bus safety systems. This AVB (IEEE802.1BA) system can be designed for the low latency based on FPGA, and transmit real-time with HD video and audio signals in a vehicle network. The proposed multi-viewer platform can multiplex H.264 video signals from 4 wide-angle HD cameras with existed ethernet 1Gbps. and 2-wire 100Mbps cables. The design of Zynq 702 based low latency to H.264 AVC CODEC was proposed for the minimization of time-delay in the HD video transmission of car area network, too. And the performance of PSNR(Peak Signal-to-noise-ratio) was analyzed with the reference model JM for encoding and decoding results in H.264 AVC CODEC. These PSNR values can be confirmed according the theoretical and HW result from the signal of H.264 AVC CODEC based on Zynq 702 the multi-viewer with multiple cameras. As a result, proposed AVB multi-viewer platform with multiple cameras can be used for the surveillance of audio and video around a bus for the safety due to the low latency of H.264 AVC CODEC design.

Stereo PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) is not available yet because of some limitations of medical stereo image software and viewing devices. As a stereo PACS viewer, we designed two functions. One is selecting and viewing a multiplexed stereo image directly, and the other is selecting a stereo pair image (left and right sides both) and merging the stereo pair image into a multiplexed image in software. For the medical image compression of 3-D stereo endoscopic images, we used JPEG and Wavelet compression and to determine an acceptable compression rate using PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio). As a result, we got the conclusion that medically acceptable image compression rate should have the PSNR of above about 40[dB] (JPEG (5:1), Wavelet (10:1)).

In this research, nonvisibility and robustness of image watermarking mixed Key and Logo method were evaluated. The role of the Key was performed by a personal ID of a copyrighter and the logo images were used as the watermark. The standard image of Lena was used for experimental image and binary images of `Park'with size 32${\times}$32 and 64${\times}$64 were used for the watermark, respectively In order to evaluate nonvisibility of the proposed watermarking scheme, PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) of the watermarked image was obtained and for robustness reconstructive rates of the reconstructed watermark were obtained from the watermarked image with image transformation of JPEG lossy compression. The experimental results show that nonvisibility is excellent as PSNR of the watermarked image is 93.75dB and the reconstructive rates of the case of 322${\times}$32 watermark was better than the case of the 64${\times}$64 watermark; average 5.9%, 13.9%, 6.5%, and 4.2% in the case of scale-down rates, rotational rates, impulse noise power density, and JPEG lossy compression rates, respectively.
In this paper, we propose a novel video quality degradation monitoring scheme titled VR-VQMS(Visual Rhythm based Video Quality Monitoring Scheme) over an IPTV service prone to packet losses during network transmission. Proposed scheme quantifies the amount of quality degradation due to packet losses, and can be classified into a RR(reduced-reference) based quality measurement scheme exploiting visual rhythm data of H.264-encoded video frames at a media server and reconstructed ones at an Set-top Box as feature information. Two scenarios, On-line and Off-line VR-VQMS, are proposed as the practical solutions. We define the NPSNR(Networked Peak-to-peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) modified by the well-known PSNR as a new objective quality metric, and several additional objective and subjective metrics based on it to obtain the statistics on timing, duration, occurrence, and amount of quality degradation. Simulation results show that the proposed method closely approximates the results from 2D video frames and gives good estimation of subjective quality(i.e.,MOS(mean opinion score)) performed by 10 test observers. We expect that the proposed scheme can play a role as a practical solution to monitor the video quality experienced by individual customers in a commercial IPTV service, and be implemented as a small and light agent program running on a resource-limited set-top box.
There is the temporal correlation of the video sequence between the motion vector of current block and the motion vector of previous block. In this paper, we propose the improved diamond search pattern using an motion vector prediction candidate search point by the predicted motion information from the same block of the previous frame. Simulation results show that PSNR(Peak-to-Signal Noise Ratio) values are improves as high as high as 14~24% in terms of average number of search point per motion vector estimation and improved about 0.02~0.37dB on an average except the full search(FS) algorithm.
