A Clinical Case Study of Osteoarthritis of Knee Joint treated with Traditional Korean Medical Therapy and Core Exercise (한방 치료와 코어 운동을 병행한 퇴행성 슬관절염 환자 1례에 대한 증례보고)

  • Objectives : The objective of this study is to report the effect of Traditional Korean medical therapy and core exercise on osteoarthritis of knee joint by observing a clinical case study. Methods : Patient with a diagnosis of osteoarthritis of knee joint, was treated by acupuncture, herb medicine, physical theraphy and core exercise. Results : After treatment, Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), Korean version of the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities(KWOMAC), Pain Rating Score(PRS) were reduced from 5 to 2, from 25 to 16, from 55 to 27, and CENTAUR test results were improved. Conclusions : This study showed that Traditional Korean medical therapy and core exercise has meaningful effect on osteoarthritis of knee joint, and more researches should be followed.

Pet Robot Simulator Coordinated over Network (네트워크를 통해 동작하는 애완 로봇 시뮬레이터)

  • A graphic simulator can be a useful tool for planning gaits or dynamic behaviors to a walking pet robot. Microsoft describes robotics developer studio (MSRDS) as an end-to-end robotics development platform including simulation engine based on dynamics. In this paper, we propose a pet robot simulator (PRS), based on MSRDS, which supports interactively controlled two walking robots connected over network. To be pet robot simulator, modeling a commercial pet robot is performed and gait planning is also implemented. By using concurrency and coordination runtime (CCR) and decentralized software services (DSS) of MSRDS software platform, we connect two robots which are displayed together but controlled separately over network. The two walking pet robots can be simulated interactively by joysticks. It seems to be an internet game for pet robots.

L-PRS: A Location-based Personalized Recommender System

  • As the wireless communication technology advances rapidly, a personalization technology can be incorporated with the mobile Internet environment, which is based on location-based services to support more accurate personalized services. A location-based personalized recommender system is one of the essential technologies of the location-based application services, and is also a crucial technology for the ubiquitous environment. In this paper we propose a framework of a location-based personalized recommender system for the mobile Internet environment. The proposed system consists of three modules the interface module, the neighbor selection module and the prediction and recommendation module. The proposed system incorporates the concept of the recommendation system in the Electronic Commerce along with that of the mobile devices for possible expansion of services on the mobile devices. Finally a service scenario for entertainment recommendation based on the proposed recommender system is described.

  • 지능형 서비스 로봇의 불확실한 작업 환경과 작업에 대한 요구사항의 증가는 작업 계획(task planning)의 어려움을 증가시킨다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 PRS (Procedural Reasoning System)를 이용한 작업 계획이 제안되어 작업 환경의 동적 변화에는 효율적으로 대응할 수 있게 되었으나, 작업의 요구사항의 증가에 따른 하위 계획의 복잡성은 아직도 해결해야 할 문제로 남아 있다. 본 논문에서는 요구된 작업의 하위 목표(sub-goals)와 속성을 고려하여 계획 후보들의 예상 유용성을 계산할 수 있는 유틸리티 함수를 기반으로, 보다 간결한 방식의 작업 계획을 수립하는 방법을 제안한다. 또한 제안한 작업 계획의 적용 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 로봇 서비스 시나리오를 구성하고 실험을 통하여 그 유용성을 검증한다.

  • Sphingolipids has been known to induce apoptosis, cell proliferation, differentiation and migration in a variety of cell types. Recently, its phosphate form was suggested that they may act both as an agonist ligand to SlPRs and a second messenger in intracellular action. Phytosphingosine(PHS) is not easily detected due to trace component of cellular lipids in mammalian and human tissues while this is a major sphingolipid in yeast and plants. We therefore developed highly sensitive and reproducible analytical method for PHS and its phosphate by oxalic acid bis(2,4,6-tri-chlorophenyl) ester(TCPO)-hydrogen peroxide(H$_2$O$_2$) chemiluminescence.   • With the development of technology, a new class of smaller and more sensitive electrical systems have emerged, requiring higher quality power system. Improving the quality of the power system requires removing harmonics as much as possible to ensure better efficiency. We should first collect information on what harmonic frequencies are included in the current power system to remove the harmonics. In this paper, a new frequency analysis algorithm is introduced for a three-phase and a 1-phase power system. MTE PRS 600.3 is used to generate any harmonics to ensure that the algorithm performs well. Typing any harmonics on the Windows GUI program shows the analyzed result from the board developed for the algorithm.

  • Gas Combustion Unit (GCU) onboard liquefied natural gas carriers handles boil-off to stabilize tank pressure. There are many factors for LNG cargo operators to take into consideration to determine whether to use GCU or not. Gas consumption of main engine and re-liquefied gas through the Partial Re-Liquefaction System (PRS) are good examples of these factors. Human gas operators have decided the operation so far. In this paper, some deep learning neural network models were developed to provide human gas operators with a decision support system. The models consider various factors specially into GCU operation. A deep learning model with Sigmoid activation functions in input layer and hidden layers made the best performance among eight different deep learning models.

Potential Habitats and Change Prediction of Machilus thunbergii Siebold & Zucc. in Korea by Climate Change (기후변화에 따른 한반도 후박나무의 잠재 생육지 및 변화예측)

  • The research was carried out in order to find climate factors which determine the distribution of Machilus thunbergii, and the potential habitats under the current climate and three climate change scenario by using classification tree (CT) model. Four climate factors; the minimum temperature of the coldest month (TMC), the warmth index (WI), summer precipitation (PRS), and winter precipition (PRW) : were used as independent variables for the model. The model of distribution for Machilus thunbergii (Mth-model) constructed by CT analysis showed that minimum temperature of the coldest month (TMC) is a major climate factor in determining the distribution of M. thunbergii. The area above the $-3.3^{\circ}C$ of TMC revealed high occurrence probability of the M. thunbergii. Potential habitats was predicted $9,326km^2$ under the current climate and $61,074{\sim}67,402km^2$(South Korea: $58,419{\sim}61,137km^2$, North Korea: $2,655{\sim}6,542km^2$) under the three climate change scenarios (CCCMA-A2, CSIRO-A2, HADCM3-A2). The Potential habitats was to predicted increase by 51~56%(South Korea: 49~51%, North Korea: 2~5%) under the three climate change scenarios. The potential expand of M. thunbergii habitats has been expected that it is competitive with warm-temperate deciduous broadleaf forest. M. thunbergii is evaluated as the indicator of climate change in Korea and it is necessary for M. thunbergii to monitor of potential habitats.

A Study on Dynamic Positioning System IMO class upgrade requirements (Dynamic Positioning System의 IMO Class 변경 요건에 관한 연구)

  • The class of Dynamic Positioning System is divided in 3 classes depending on its redundancy and reliability according to IMO and classification society. There are 3 DP classes such as DP Class 1, 2 and 3 according to IMO MSC/Circ. 645. Higher DP class vessel has higher reliability, since redundancy concept is applied to the DP vessel depending on its DP class and can operate more safely. There are not enough information about DP class notation, which are needed when a company builds a new or buys second hand DP vessel or modifies DP classes, even the Korean shipyard is building a lot of DP vessels now. Also, the practical case of DP vessel modification, which had been done in Korea, to meet DP notation of IMO and classification society, will be helpful for DP vessel modification and sales industry development in Korea as a new business. As such this research identified what kind of requirements need to be taken into account to be from DP class 1 to DP class 2. The real DP class modification case is used to identify the requirements of DP class upgrade. Through the FMEA the redundancy concept on power system, thruster system and DP control system need to apply for DP class upgrade. The power system have to keep its DP function even if just a single fault happens on the generator or switchboard. Also, the PMS is required to monitor and control power system. Ship's Surge, Sway and Yaw movements can be controlled by the remaining thruster system after a single thruster fails. Lastly, multiple installation of PRS, sensors and DP control system are required to keep DP ability after a single fault on the DP control systems.

Bandwidth Analysis of High-order Pulse for the Transmission of Ultrashort Laser Pulses (극초단펄스 전송을 위한 고차원펄스의 스펙트럼 대역 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze transmission characteristics of ultrashort laser pulses using the property of high-order pulses which are systematically obtained following their orders. The high-order pulses are easily derived from a modified PRS system model. But we make clear they are very useful to cover wider area and more accurate transmission characteristics of ultrashort pulses than Gaussian or Sech pulse approximations used conventionally. This may be based on the fact that the spectra and bandwidths of the high-order pulses are beautifully related to their orders. first modifying the generalized PRS system model, we propose a new model for deriving any type of high-order pulse. And we offer a novel analysis method of ultrashort pulse transmission which has any shape and FWHM, using the proposed model. In addition, by fixing the pulse range $\tau$=1(ps) and varying the order of the pulse from n:1 to n=100, we obtain spectra of ultrashort pulses with 1(ps)-150(fs) FWHM's, which are widely used in fiber communications. As a one-step further, we derive PSD's of their pulse trains when they are applied to Unipolar signaling scheme. These PSD's are decided in the range of possible pulse intervals. All of these results are not only coincided with some conventional experimental works but also will be applied to any pioneering ultrashort pulse in the future.
