  • An ECG(Electrocardiogram) compression can increase the processing speed of system as well as reduce amount of signal transmission and data storage of long-term records. Whereas conventional performance evaluations of loss or lossless compression algorithms measure PRD(Percent RMS Difference) and CR(Compression Ratio) in the viewpoint of engineers, this paper focused on the performance evaluations of compression algorithms in the viewpoint of diagnostician who diagnosis ECG. Generally, for not effecting the diagnosis in the ECG compression, the position, length, amplitude and waveform of the restored signal of PQRST wave should not be damaged. AZTEC, a typical ECG compression algorithm, is validated its effectiveness in conventional performance evaluation. In this paper, we propose novel performance evaluation of AZTEC in the viewpoint of diagnostician.

  • On February 18, 2019, the Chinese government officially released the Outline of the Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which will lead the country in a new round of reform and opening-up. The Greater Bay Area will become a dynamic world-class city cluster, an international scientific and technological innovation center with global influence, an important support for the development of the "One Belt And One Road", a demonstration area for in-depth cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao, and a high-quality living area for living, working and traveling. Non-Pearl River Delta(Non-PRD) cities in Guangdong Province are adjacent to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, so it is of practical significance to promote the high-quality development of urban tourism from an international perspective. Based on the panel data released in Guangdong Yearbook 2019, this paper uses the envelopment data analysis (DEA) method to explore ways to promote the high-quality tourism development of Non-PRD cities in Guangdong Province based on the perspective of international development.

  • In recent years, mechanized construction has become commonplace due to increases in the scale and complexity of construction, and construction machinery is a major factor in successful construction. However, even though the proportion of construction machinery is increasing, analysis of the work capacity of construction machinery is inadequate. In addition, since the standards for all construction machines are currently not defined in quantity-per-unit, the construction period is arbitrarily applied according to the operator at the time of the construction plan. As a result, the construction period of the actual construction is insufficient, and rushed work or construction delays occur. Therefore, in this study, in order to calculate the construction period of the piling work of the pile driver used in the PRD method more accurately than the existing method, the formula for calculating the time required for the piling work of the pile driver was established by collecting piling time data from the daily task reports through the field survey. If the precise construction period of piling work is estimated based on the results of this study, it will be possible to prevent the rushed work and construction delays that occur due to the short construction period.

  • Increasing cost and scarcity of maize has stimulated the use of alternative feed sources (AFS) in the diets of cattle. In this study, we investigated the effects of partial or total replacement of maize on nutrient digestibility, growth performance, blood metabolites, and economics in Limousin crossbred feedlot cattle. Forty-five $Limousin{\times}Luxi$ crossbred bulls were randomly assigned to the three treatment groups, orthodox diet (OD; 45.0% maize), partial replacement diet (PRD; 15% maize, 67% AFS), total replacement diet (TRD; 0% maize, 100% AFS). The growth feeding trial lasted for 98 days. Dry matter intake (DMI) and average daily gain (ADG) were recorded. The digestion trial was carried out after the end of the growth trial. Total faeces and feed samples were measured daily. Digestibilities of dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) were calculated. After the feeding trial, blood metabolites were measured in 12 animals from each group. Initial and final body weights did not differ significantly among treatment groups (p>0.05). The ADG and DMI were 1.72 and 8.66, 1.60 and 9.10, and 1.40 and 9.11 kg/d for OD, PRD, and TRD, respectively. The PRD and TRD exhibited lower ADG (p<0.01) and higher DMI (p<0.01) than OD. The DMI (%body weight) was comparable between groups (p>0.5). Feed efficiency of PRD and TRD were lower than OD (p<0.01). The DM digestibility decreased with reduced level of maize (p = 0.10), OM digestibility was higher in OD (p<0.05), and CP, NDF and ADF digestibilities were similar for all groups (p>0.05). Blood urea nitrogen (mg/dL) in PRD and TRD was higher than OD (p<0.01), while other blood parameters did not differ significantly. Feed costs ($/head/d) were 1.49, 0.98, and 0.72 for OD, PRD, and TRD, respectively (p<0.01). Feed costs per kg gain ($) were significantly lower for PRD (0.63) and TRD (0.54) than OD (0.89; p<0.01). Overall profit ($/head) and daily profit ($/head/d) did not differ significantly between treatments (p>0.05), although TRD showed the highest economic benefits overall (p<0.01). While a traditional diet maximized the growth rate, partial or total replacement of dietary maize with AFS proved economically feasible due to their lower costs and comparable nutrient digestibilities of DM, CP, NDF, and ADF. Partial replacement may prove economically competitive in the current situation of China.

  • The purposes of this study are; to investigate the swallowing mechanism of stroke patients with different consistencies through the modified barium swallowing(MBS); and to establish preliminary data on the differences in swallowing durations. 4 different kinds of consistency-water, nectar, pudding, and crackers-were given to 6 stroke patients and their swallowing durations recorded through the fluoroscopy were measured in 1/100 second units. The results show that first swallowing time(FST), the oral preparatory duration(OPD), and the pharyngeal response duration(PRD) were delayed in swallowing thicker consistencies. However, water exhibited delayed oral and pharyngeal phase relative to its consistency and 50% of subjects showed oral loss of water. The relationship between consistencies and swallowing durations and the clinical issues on the stroke population were discussed.

  • This study carried out field measurements of rock drilling where two PRD (Percussion Rotary Drilling) methods, T-4 drilling method and dual drilling method, were considered and the study examined the characteristics of vibration level, noise level, drilling speed, and drillig verticality of the two method. The results of field measurements were compared and analyzed in details to provide the drilling information so that the problems due to rock drilling is minimized and the drilling efficiency is improved in the future. The limited measurements in the field indicated that the dual drilling method showed lower vibration and noise levels and better drilling speed and verticality.

  • Fuel cell vehicles are equipped with Pressure Relief Devices(PRDs) installed in pressure tank cylinder to prevent the explosion of the tank during a fire. PRDs are safety devices that perceive a fire and release gas in the pressure tank cylinder before it is exploded. But if the PRD does not actuate, because either the PRD fails or can't be surrounded by the flame of a fire, the tank will rupture and produce a blast wave and hydrogen fire ball. In this paper, we observed the fire behavior of actual fuel cell vehicle, comparing with that of gasoline vehicle.

  • The aim of this study was to compare crop contamination between two irrigation methods using microbial-contaminated water. The effect of relative humidity on microbial survival of the three indicator microorganisms was also investigated. Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Clostridium perfringens ATCC 3624, and coliphage PRD1 were applied to irrigation water to grow cantaloupe, lettuce, and bell pepper. Half of the sixteen plots were subsurface drip irrigated (SDI) and the other half were furrow irrigated (FI). Two relative humidity levels were controlled at 15-65 % and 55-80 % for the dry and humid condition experiments, respectively. Samples of produce, surface soil, and subsurface soil at a depth of 10 cm were collected over a two-week period following the application of the study microorganisms. Overall, greater contamination of both produce and soil occurred in the FI plots. For the SDI plots, preferential water paths and resulting water appearance on the seed beds seemed to be responsible for produce contamination. Relative humidity levels did not appear to affect microbial survival in soil. PRD 1 showed lower inactivation rates than 5. coli in both dry and humid conditions. C. perfringens did not experience significant inactivation over the experimental period, suggesting this microorganism can be an effective indicator of fecal contamination.
