방전처리에 의한 Polypropylene섬유의 표면개질 (Surface Modification of Polypropylene Fiber by Plasma Discharge)

  • Polypropylene(PP) films were treated with plasma glow discharge to produce peroxy radicals on the surfaces. The peroxy radicals formed on the PP film surfaces were subsequently used for the graft polymerization of acrylic acid and acrylamide in an aqueous solution by heating, respectively. Introduction of acrylic acid and acrylamide on the PP film could be confirmed by the observation of carbonyl and primary amine absorptions based on carboxylic acid and amide, respectively. And introduction of functional group could be confirmed by weight analysis and ESCA. The water contact angle(90$^{\circ}$) of PP film was constant, irrespective of elapsed time, while plasma-treated and functional monomer-grafted PP films were slowly increased with elapsed time, showing the rearrangement of surface polar groups in air condition. The water contact angle$(90^\circ)$ of PP film was decreased by the plasma treatment$(56^\circ)$ and further decreased by the grafting of acrylic acid$(34^\circ)$ and acrylamide$(37^\circ)$, indicating increased hydrophilicity of the modified surfaces. The water contact angle of plasma-treated PP film increased a little as time elapsing. The half-life periods of surface voltage on acrylic acid-(31sec) and acrylamide-grafted PP(42sec) were significantly decreased when compared to those on PP(950sec) and plasma-treated PP film(241sec). In the experiments using acid, basic and disperse dyes, absorbance and $\Delta{E}$ values of functional monomer-grafted PP films were significantly increased than that of oxygen plasma-treated one.

절단배추의 포장재질에 따른 단기 저장 중 품질특성 (Quality characteristics of cut kimchi cabbage during short-term storage depending on the packaging materials)

  • 절단 배추의 포장재에 따른 저장 중 품질변화를 알아보기 위해 배추($3{\times}3cm$)를 PP film, OPP film, LDPE film백에 각각 넣은 후 $5^{\circ}C$에서 4주 동안 저장하면서 저장 특성을 조사하였다. 중량은 0.03~0.24%의 범위로 감소하였으며, PP film 포장구가 가장 낮은 감소율을 보였다. 가용성 고형분 함량은 $0.03{\sim}0.2^{\circ}Brix$의 범위로 감소하였으며, PP film 포장구가 낮은 감소율을 보였다. 적정산도는 모든 처리구에서 증가하다가 감소하는 경향을 나타냈으나, PP film과 OPP film 포장구의 증가율이 낮았다. 색도값은 저장기간이 길어질수록 전체적으로 감소하였으나, 포장재에 따른 유의적인 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 관능검사 결과 역시 포장재에 따른 유의적인 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 외관상 품질특성은 PP film 포장구가 다른 포장보다 우수하였다. 따라서 투명한 PP film으로 절단배추를 포장하여 저장 및 유통하는 것이 선도 및 품질 유지에 효과적이라고 사료된다.

A Fabrication and Antifogging Performance of Random Polypropylene Film Containing Monoglycerides as Antifogging Agent

  • In this study, random polypropylene (rPP) was compounded with two of monoglycerides, namely, glyceryl monolaurate (GML) and glyceryl monostearate (GMS), as antifogging agents to improve its antifogging performance. rPP film samples were prepared by a film-casting method using a three-roll casting machine after melt blending through a twin screw extruder. With an increase in the monoglyceride content, the melt flow index for rPP films with GML and GMS increased, and their yield strength decreased. The incorporation of GMS in rPP was proven to be more effective in improving its physical properties than was rPP with GML. When GML and GMS were separately added to the rPP film at contents of more than 1 phr and more than 5 phr, respectively, the film exhibited antifogging performance.

A Composite of Metal and Polymer Films: Thin Nickel Film Coated on a Polypropylene Film after Atmospheric Plasma Induced Surface Modification

  • Polymeric films of high chemical stability and mechanical strength covered with a thin metallic film have been extensively used in various fields as electric and electronic materials. In this study, we have chosen polypropylene (PP) as the polymer due to its outstanding chemical resistance and good creep resistance. We coated thin nickel film on PP films by the electroless plating process. The surfaces of PP films were pre-treated and modified to increase the adhesion strength of metal layer on PP films, prior to the plating process, by an environment-friendly process with atmospheric plasma generated using dielectric barrier discharges in air. The surface morphologies of the PP films were observed before and after the surface modification process using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The static contact angles were measured with deionized water droplets. The cross-sectional images of the PP films coated with thin metal film were taken with SEM to see the combined state between metallic and PP films. The adhesion strength of the metallic thin films on the PP films was confirmed by the thermal shock test and the cross-cutting and peel test. In conclusion, we made a composite material of metallic and polymeric films of high adhesion strength.

포장재에 따른 양송이버섯의 저장 중 품질변화 (Quality Changes in Mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) due to Their Packaging Materials during Their Storage)

  • 본 연구는 소포장 된 양송이버섯의 저장 및 유통시 선도 유지를 위하여 예냉처리 후 포장재질(PE, PP, PS 용기+PVC wrapper)에 따른 품질변화를 측정하였다. 저장기간 중 포장재질 별 품질특성을 측정한 결과 PS 용기+PVC wrapper 처리구에 비하여 PP 처리구와 PE 처리구의 중량감소율은 약 10배가량 낮았으며, 포장 내 기체조성 측정결과 포장재질별 포장 내 기체조성은 유의적 차이가 발견되지 않았다. Hunter L 값을 측정한 결과 저장 5일까지 PS 용기+PVC wrapper 처리구의 L값이 가장 높았으나, 저장기간이 경과 할수록 PP 및 PE 처리구의 L값이 더 높게 유지되었다. ${\Delta}E$ 측정결과 PP 처리구가 PE 처리구보다 색 변화가 적었으며 PS 용기+PVC wrapper는 다른 포장재질에 비하여 색 변화가 약 29% 더 많이 일어났다. 경도 측정에서 PE 처리구와 PS 용기+PVC wrapper 처리구에 비해 PP 처리구에서 경도가 높은 값을 유지하였다. 관능평가 결과 저장 기간이 길어질수록 다른 처리구보다 PP 처리구의 전반적인 기호도가 더 높았다. 또한 PP 처리구의 경우 저장 11일째까지 상품성을 유지하였다. 따라서 PP film으로 양송이버섯을 포장할 경우 품질유지 및 선도 연장에 도움을 줄 수 있는 것으로 사료된다.

  • Thin films of pp(ST-Co-VA) were fabricated by plasma deposition polymerization (PVDPM) technique. Properties of the plasma polymerized pp(ST-Co-VA) thin films were investigated for application to semiconductor device as insulator. Thickness, dielectric property, composition of the pp(ST-Co-VA) thin films were investigated considering the relationship with preparation condition such as gas pressure and deposition time. In order to verify the possibility of application to organic thin film transistor, a pentacene thin film was deposited on the pp(ST-Co-VA) insulator by vacuum thermal evaporation technique. Crystalline property of the pentacene thin film was investigated by XRD and SEM, FT-IR. Surface properties at the pp(ST-Co-VA)/pentacene interface was investigated by contact angle measurement. The pp(ST-Co-VA) thin film showed a high-k (k=4.6) and good interface characteristic with pentacene semiconducting layer, which indicates that it would be a promising material for organic thin film transistor (OTFT) application.

Preparation and Characterization of Plasma Polymerized Methyl Methacrylate Thin Films as Gate Dielectric for Organic Thin Film Transistor

  • Plasma polymerized methyl methacrylate (ppMMA) thin films were deposited by plasma polymerization technique with different plasma powers and subsequently thermally treated at temperatures of 60 to $150^{\circ}C$. To find a better ppMMA preparation technique for application to organic thin film transistor (OTFT) as dielectric layer, the chemical composition, surface morphology, and electrical properties of ppMMA were investigated. The effect of ppMMA thin-film preparation conditions on the resulting thin film properties were discussed, specifically O-H site content in the pMMA, dielectric constant, leakage current density, and hysteresis.

기능성 무기물과 폴리올레핀계 수지의 정량적 혼합시스템에 의한 환경대응형 포장소재 개발 (Environment Corresponding Package by Quantitative Mixing System with Functional Inorganic Material and Polyolefin Resin)

  • A lot of research has been made over the recent decade to develop testing packages with antimicrobial properties to improve food safety. In this study, a new method, experimental device and technology for environmental corresponding packages of polypropylene (PP) film has been developed to provide effective temperature buffering during the transport/long-term storage of grains or foodstuffs from the supplier to the market. This quantitatively optimized mixing system enabled to produce PP films with the 700$\sim$1,400d (width;1.5$\sim$3mm, thickness;0.01$\sim$0.5mm). In the whole mixing systems, the finely-granulated inorganic illite and PP virgin chip for master batch (M/B) chip was calculated by digital measurement methods, and then the M/B chip for PP film was adapted through a air jet and PP grinding method. The prepared PP film was characterized with tensile strength and elongation, far infrared radiation (FIR) emissivity, antimicrobial activity and deodorization properties. The results revealed that the two differently grain-sized illite could be show homogeneously dispersed on PP chip surface, and as the increasing of illite content, the FIR emissivity and the anion emission rate of film was increasingly improved. In both of 325 and 1,500 mesh-sized illite contained PP chip, of course the antimicrobial activity was good. But the ultimate deodorization rate for ammonia gas of PP film were found to be approximately the same.

가압가열 방식에 의한 Brown Stock의 유통 중 품질 변화 (The Quality Characteristics of Brown Stock Prepared by The High Pressure Cooking)

  • This study has been conducted to develop brown stock with the high pressure cooking(HPC) method. The sterilization methods, package film and storage methods, and quality maintenance during storage were investigated in this study. The packaging quality of NY/PP was inferior to that of PE/AL/PP since NY/PP facilitated the ventilation and moisture absorption. The maximum duration of the safe storage was found to be 50 days at 25$^{\circ}C$, 30 days at 35$^{\circ}C$ for NY/PP package film, and 60 days at 25$^{\circ}C$, 40 days at 35$^{\circ}C$ for PE/AL/PP one. These results showed that the overall quality of brown stock by the HPC method was not different significantly from that of brown stock by the traditional approach. Furthermore, the HPC approach might improve the productivity by saving the labour cost, food cost, and cooking time. Therefore, the traditional method might well be substituted by this newly developed method.

검은비늘버섯의 포장재와 저장온도에 따른 저장 효과 (Effects on Storage with Various Films and Storage Temperature of Pholiota adiposa)

  • 본 연구는 검은비늘버섯(CBPM-6호)의 선도유지 효과를 알아보기 위해 포장재(Wrap, PE, PP, AE)및 저장온도(1$^{\circ}C$, 3$^{\circ}C$, 6$^{\circ}C$)을 달리하여 18일간 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 저장기간 중 포장재별 중량 감모율은 랩포장시 1$^{\circ}C$에서 18일 후 3.17%이었으나, AF필름에서는 1.08%의 낮은 중량 감모율을 나타내었다. 색도는 저장기간이 연장될수록 명도와 황색도는 약간 증가하는 반면 랩 포장에서는 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 버섯 저장 전 색깔은 랩포장에서는 3일, PE, PP, AF포장에서는 18일까지 유지되었다. 경도는 저장온도가 높을수록 낮아지는 경향이었으며 1$^{\circ}C$에서 저장할 때 AF 밀봉 저장이 경도의 변화가 가장 적은 것으로 나타났다. 신선도는 1$^{\circ}C$ 저장시 신선도 8을 기준으로 랩포장은 3일, PE 밀봉은 6일, PP 밀봉은 9일, AS 밀봉으로 15일간 저장시 상품성을 유지할 수 있었다.
